Absolutely horrible customer service this morning from opening staff. I wasted 20 minutes waiting at the sunglasses counter making eye contact with several employees and twice having to walk over to the customer service counter to ask for help. When someone finally did show up, he was rude and inept. I left Academy but discovered Spectacles West on Main Street in Weatherford. They were phenomenal. If you need a pair of Wiley X (WX) or other sunglasses, check them out. Spectacles West also gives a first responder discount.

Clean, well laid out & organized. Love their Magellan Outdoor line of colorful, moisture-wicking fish gear long sleeve pullovers. Cool & protection from the sun. Wish they had a more varied color choice for the pants.

Finding someone to help you in this store in sportswear is a big joke. Needed some items for my wife and was in way over my head. Ended leaving empty handed due to several reasons.. Lack of assistance, lack of locating the items I was looking for and crowded.. Couldnt get the buggy through the clothing selection because it was packed worse than Ross and not as good of quality merchandise. Cheap items priced too high. Even in clearance section.

Super service! Couldnt find sleeves for my grandsons last football game. Relentless! Didnt stop until 3 of them helped us find them. Love this store!!

Everything was good except they need more employee help. It took about 15 20 minutes to find someone who could help us in the weight department and thats the first department when you walk in the door.

Great store, has every thing you can imagine, clothes, shoes, sporting, B.B.Q s camping. We bought two folding directors chairs. Great price, quality.

Found the items I was looking for and had a great selection of other items! Even during tax free weekend I was able to get in and out of the store no problem! Although the cashier (Ben) was awfully rude! He didn’t make me feel welcome once it was my turn to be checked out

The $1300 pedal kayake we order online for fathers day was missing parts when I tried to surprise my husband on Fathers day. When we called Academy to see what we needed to do we were put in hold and passed around for over an hour. Then hung up on. Done with this place.Side note the Academy in white settlement was wonderful!!!

This location is fairly new so it really nice. The employees are friendly and helpful. We enjoy going to this location for many different things.

This place is full of lies. They tell you if you apply for their charge carding, they will knock $15 off of your purchase, if you are accepted. The scam is, they tell you that they have to do further checking on your credit. So you dont get the $15 off of you bill. Its a scam for them to get your personal info. Ill prove it right now. I have a 761 credit rating. You dont need to do more checking on my credit. I can walk into any bank, and in 15 minutes or less, walk out with $100 grand, just on my signature alone. They are dishonest!!! I am speaking with an attorney now, to see if they can be held accountable for their deceit. This place is a joke. I will never shop there again!!

As with any store during this pandemic, it is hard to get help and keeping shelves stocked properly. For the most part it has been a good experience there.

Hey Scott, i have been a licensed carrier for several years and have bought several guns during that time. They still have to fill out all the same paper work (the 4473). The ONLY difference is that they dont have to do a NICS background check which means you dont have to worry about possibly getting delayed.

This store is always missing stuff. I was told to come back on monday because they have their shipment coming in and they will have what I need. Well its monday and they dont. What they have is a bunch of blue cards everywhere telling us to shop online. I could have bought from their competitor and gotten it today in the mail. Wasted my time again with this store. Will be shopping at competitors from now on.

Went there to get a pair of shoes. It was my first visit to this location. It was layed out just like the rest of the Academy stores. I went straight back to the shoe area. I looked for about 5 minutes and was approached by someone to ask if I needed help. I told them what I needed for the situation they would be used for. They showed me a couple of choices that they said would work for my needs. They were able to answer all my questions and were very helpful. I did keep them busy with questions and they never acted as if they had other things to do and wanted to get away like some other places. They stuck around for as long as I needed them. They were knowledgeable and very polite. I will definitely be back to this location for my next pair. Great customer service.

Go there and look at everything you want. Try stuff on. Then go home and buy it online. Ive been in retail management for 15 years and the Academy in Weatherford just said a Hail Mary and went with it. There is no leadership in that store. I could go on for hours.

Really glad to have one of these in Weatherford. Its very handy although the checkout seems to be a little bit slow

Very poorly stocked shelves. Not sure if there exists a limited supply because of covid or poor management, but they didnt have half of what I went in for. Very friendly and supportive staff though!

Experience online shopping, and going to the store to pickup merchandise during this pandemic season of the Academy is also quite fast. Within 10 minutes they brought out the stuff and then I could go home in that time. Not bad and also very safe when shopping while the pandemic is still high. The service is quite fast and deserves 5 stars from myself. Academy has done well.

Academy in Weatherford is one, if not the best for having a staff of employees that are willing to assisttheir customers when needed and dont follow you around! Very courteous to each other and Managersare very people minded to customers as well as their employees! In general,my experience with The Academy hasbeen nothing but a Five Star ratedexperience! Keep it going Mike!!

I had to buy some composite toe boots. Had alot of variety for the steel and composite toe shoes.

Theres all kinds of sports equipment, including anything an adult or child would need for playing sports. Has work out clothes, fishing equipment, etc.

What a bunch off lazy people at this store. I bought a large corn feeder that weighed in excess of 250 lbs. and 400 lbs. of corn and no one helped me load it up in my truck. I don’t have time to wait for someone so I loaded it my self, the man behind the gun counter would not help, everyone was just lazy to help. So we did it ourself. Academy workers are lazy.

They will not answer their phones. Called multiple times, picked different extensions, let it ring 20 plus times and still no answer. Frustrating when you live in Arlington and need to find out something and the website doesnt have infirmary so you must call.

This store use to be very organized. Today the store was a complete mess. Another shopper made that comment going thru. Looking in the the women section the majority of the clothing was xl and up. Hopefully they will get it back under control and more mixture of sizes of small med and large.

We drove all the way into buy camp fuel from Academy because they had 34 one gallon cans listed as available. One employee told me they were in a certain area that i had overlooked them. Then he directed his co-worker to assist me and wouldnt you know it, they didnt have ANY camp fuel whatsoever. Why even have a website if your not going to update it? Ever heard of automatic updates?

Found UA shoes for 27.98 on sale. Sign showed 12.01 off. Waited in line, then when rang up showed the 39.99 normal price. Checkout person call shoes, waited 10min for them to walk to the front, only for them to turn around walk all the way back. Then called up front to say someone had put the wrong shoes in the sale shoe spot. Funny that the price of shoe minus the 12.01came to sale price? Wont be back!

Sales floor was tidey but the bathroom was atrocious. No toilet paper, dirty floors, both workers and customers lack ability to wash hands and passed by me as I waited to use the urinal. I held it and left. No telling what they may have touched out there. Ammo sales clercks were very friendly as were the cashierd, which is why I left two stars.

One of my favorite places to shop. I spend a lot of time here. They have a great selection.

Asked about certain golf balls and associate had no idea what I was talking about. Checked out, was asked if I wanted to save $ by applying for a credit card. Beware! You only save if approved for the card. If denied, you dont save.

Called numerous times in a row to check if they had an item in stock at the store and no one answered the phone any of the times in any of the departments I tried to contact. Why even have a phone number for customers to call if you will never answer it? Even the main customer service line never got picked up. This is a sad display of customer service and I will not be shopping at this location because I feel this shows what type of service you will receive in store as well.

This was a great store. Im driving though and wanted to pick up some fishing gear. They sold me a display reel for 10% discount. They also gave me 10% for military which is really kind of a company. Will be doing business with this company more.

The employees are all standing around on their phones . And God forbid you interupt one of them to ask for help . They are rude and lazy . Everyone working there should be fired. I left without buying anything the store looks dirty and understocked . The manager there has the same lazy dont care attitude as the rest of the worthless staff
