Great Clear Lake area Butcher Shop and a whole lot more. The meat selection is crazy and a whole lot of variety to chose from. From steak to chicken to boudin. The staff is friendly and easy to work with. I’d highly recommend checking this place out of if you are looking for a great cut of meat.

I gave this place a poor review on my first visit. I decided to try them again. The staff was exceptional. Professional in their butchering for my custom request and very friendly. If it bothers you that they don’t wear masks, put one on yourself. Best meat market in the area, by far. I’m sold and this will be my go to place in the future. Great job!!!

Went in after lunch to see what this place was like. Bought a strawberry mini jam and some petit toasts to try at home. Place is very clean and they have a lot of stuff besides meat. Cool place.Strawberry jam is good with the petit toasts. I wish I bought more jam. 👍🏻

This is the best meat market in the Clear Lake area. Premium, higher quality foods. Great in house made sausages of all types, various boudin recipes, delicious heritage breed pork and as well as real dry aged steak. We liked it so much we went back three times the first week.

Great place. Very clean and open to look around. Great people. This is my 3rd time and it has been consistent and always great. They don’t rush you and if I have questions they take the time and give great answers. Also they take the time and talk to you like a person more than a customer.

Best steaks money can buy hands down. Had a great opportunity come across me and my buddy to be able to cook a appreciation lunch for Cabelas and recommended they buy the steaks from The Chopping block knowing the quality of meat they provide. We literally saw a Facebook ad and was in the store within 30 minutes. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The store was chic and very organized. The owner was so kind and treated us just like family. As a business owner myself, he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy customers. We haven’t even cooked our food yet but I plan on coming back just because of how great the 3 men working their were.

Quality meat, competitive prices and friendly people. That about sums it up. I stop in occasionally when I want to find something different to cook for dinner and they never disappoint. Im particularly fond of their stuffed chicken breasts and pork chops but Ive never had anything I was disappointed in. The marinated steaks are always a hit. The stuffed mushrooms are incredible. Definitely a local business you should check out. The folks behind the counter have always been friendly and welcoming and happy to give advice on cooking methods for the various products. Having found this meat market, I have become more comfortable in the kitchen and they make it easy to serve up delicious meals. Highly recommended you stop by and check it out.

Heard about the chopping block from a friend, went inside was immediately greeted with a very heartfelt hi how you doing anything we can help you with just ask then I was allowed to leisurely wander around the store and look and pick up things and read and study when I got ready I approached the butcher counter and was immediately greeted by three gentlemen who said what can I do for you today after making my purchase I was greeted by another young lady at the register who bagged my order thank you for coming ask me several pertinent questions had I joined their website and I done this and I done that I couldnt have been more pleased with their service the cleanliness of the store and watching the professionals work

Just left here looking for something to cook for dinner. Walked in and wasnt greeted but I was watched. 4 people and I was the only customer in there and no one even came over to ask if I need help or anything but yet when I was leaving the woman in there waved bye to me with a smile on her face. Well ok then bye. They must didnt care to get my money so off to find me another market.

Never been here but planning on a visit. I was searching for a good meat market/butcher shop and after reading the reviews Im already a fan. To bad the sheeple leave 1 star reviews for a silly mask hissy fits. Numbers and science dont lie, keep your political views off the business review.

The Chopping Block has a great selection of meats, including steaks, spiced chicken, quail, sausage and bacon. They also sell great side dishes, such as stuffed jalapeños and bacon wrapped zucchini, as well as delicious giant baking potatoes. I just had a ribeye roast aged there for 45 days and can’t wait to try it. The staff is outgoing and friendly, as well as patriotic (there are a couple of veterans on staff). The Chopping Block is a great addition to Clear Lake. I highly recommend it.For you sheep out there giving The Chopping Block 1-star reviews because of their mask policy, REMEMBER THIS: My personal freedom doesn’t end where your fear begins. Go shop at Costco if you want to be surrounded by politically motivated mask Nazis. If you want great cuts of meat and still believe in personal freedom, shop at The Chopping Block.

Wow. Just wow. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I first thought thats this establishment was just a cooking store, but after going inside I was blown away by the selections. The cuts of meat are very high quality and the overall aesthetic of the place is nice. Will definitely be coming in regularly.

This place is unbelievably good. The Rosewood Wagyu is worth it 100%, the marbling is fantastic and you can nearly cut it with a fork. The stuffed mushrooms almost taste like a gourmet cheese pizza, and the Italian sausage is old-school New York quality. Whenever I’m there I ask for the butcher’s advice, he never lets us down. They have tons of fresh meats, ribs, chicken, multiple sausages and tons of other choices. My two brother-in-laws and I are all here 2-3 times a week. Say goodbye to grocery store meats, you’ve found The Chopping Block!!

Whether you are a competition cooker or a weekend warrior like myself, The Chopping Block has everything you need. Meats, rubs, sauces, jelly. Just dont touch thr gator, apparently it is frowned upon.

I went here yesterday the people are not friendly. Lets face it in Texas folks like to converse... not these folks. Anyway the only fresh cuts of meat they sell are wagu beef. I was looking for tenderloin, New York Strips and Beef Brisket Burgers for Fathers day. I found a wonderful meat market in league city very well priced meat and friendly staff. Thank goodness for free enterprise.

Great selection, tons of choice, custom ages, and great service.

There are too many great things to say about this place. The service was really friendly and informative. They have so many different ingredients for you to step your cooking game up. The even have real Kobe not wagyu(which they also have) real A5 blow your mind Kobe. I highly recommend this place next time your plan on having a nice dinner for friends or family.

This is a super nice store with an awesomely eclectic selection of products. You’ll find anything from marinated chicken wings to Texas quail poppers to the mouth watering selection of wagyu beef. Also, they have all of the good seasonings and rubs you’ve heard of throughout the years. I picked up 4 wagyu tenderloin steaks and we cooked 2 last night. All I can say is “wow”, it was as delicious as I had anticipated. I also grabbed some quail poppers and boudin stuffed pork chops that I’m cookin tonight on the Traeger. Five stars all damn day!! Super friendly staff and great selection of meats! They’re Chorizo burger And spicy breakfast sausage are my favorite, but their steak and sausage selection are on point as well! I love going here and looking at all the different products.

Wow. Let me tell you about how great the sausage is here! We had some ghost mango cheese that was AMAZING. Do yourself a favor and get the blueberry and feta sausage! Love supporting local businesses- we Will be back soon!

This place is great. All the guys behind the counter are very knowledgeable and helpful. The meat selection, the sausages, the hand churned butter, all amazing. Get some seasoned quail tips before leaving.

Good quality meat, they really know how to manhandle my meat,all kinds of meats, I even thought they had unicorn meat in the back!

Would love to patronize further but none of the employees know how to wear a mask.

First of all, I want to say that this place is amazing and their food and customer service is amazing. They have the highest quality meats and food. It does come at a premium cost but if you have the money it is worth every penny.I’m giving them one star because they clearly don’t care about their customers and they’re not taking the public’s health seriously. In the midst of a pandemic where multiple businesses have had to close and then open and close again because their employees are testing positive, NOT ONE PERSON WORKING HERE WAS WEARING A MASK and I’m pretty sure they weren’t wearing gloves either but it’s been a few days so I may be misremembering that. I know for a fact that the cashier was not wearing gloves and that no employee in the store was wearing a mask. When you go to a restaurant, the server wears a mask and they usually don’t even touch your food. The people at this store handle your raw food before they give it too you. They should be wearing masks even if there wasn’t a pandemic going on!To think of the fact that one of them may be infected without knowing it, they can easily sneeze into their elbow, and that doesn’t block the whole sneeze so someone could still touch an infected surface afterwards, or they may just scratch their own arm 30 mins later without even thinking about it, and then they could unknowingly have it and pass it to all their coworkers and customers, all of this can easily happen before they start showing symptoms... that’s so scary.I know that a lot of customers may not be concerned with this (as the other customers in the store weren’t wearing masks) but so what, careless customers aren’t handling my raw meat that I’m paying a lot of money for. You can easily come around the counter and sanitize the door handles or the area by the cash register if customers aren’t wearing masks... I can’t spray Lysol on that meat you just gave me. I get it that a lot of people in this area aren’t taking this seriously and may even think it’s not real, but considering that I’ve just gotten over having COVID I can guarantee you that it is very real, it’s an awful sickness even if you do get better, and wearing a mask would show your customers, not only that you care, but that you’re actually taking their safety seriously. I think for the amount of money you charge, that’s not too much to ask for. Having said all of this, my roommate goes to this place pretty often. Next time he goes I will gladly ask him if they were wearing masks in the store and if I find out this business starts taking this very serious public health issue seriously, I will gladly remove this review and write a new positive review because they do offer a great product and I’m happy to support that so long as they start showing that they support the public’s health and safety.
