This lumber yard is absolutely magnificent. It has a vast selection of beautiful hardwoods in various lengths as well as rough-saw or 5/4 sawn lumber. The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere they create is great. They also have a massive range and stock of building materials on offer as well as high quality tools in their wonderful show room. You have earned yourself a repeat customer!

Well staffed, responsive phone customer service... but strongly suggest to check cut lumber pieces as had 1hour delay in a simple project as they cut the length off by ½ inch.

After waiting 10 minutes for David, who actually took 3 customers before us and was rude to us after we mentioned that we have been waiting. We finally received help from a guy named Mustafa who was great and very helpful. He even climbed up shelves to get what we needed. We would give this establishment 5 stars but because of our interaction with David we are giving it 3 stars.

Really great lumber yard. They have all kinds of samples to look at from crown molding, door hardware, tools, veneers and specialty woods. 95% percent of our building materials come from Dykes lumber. I send most of our clients down to the Weehawken location to see the showroom. Worth the trip!

Great place and great people.

I just logged in to see their hours for the weekend, and I was surprised to see this place doesn’t have five stars from everyone. I really have to disagree with some of the negative comments I see below. I am regular there in the Weehawken location, and I often see those guys dealing with some very difficult prom lens that seem to bring here after they have failed to find another company to help them. This place is tops as far as I am concerned. Each of the guys there have strengths on many subjects concerning the building industry. Some of them specialize in different things, but if one guy doesn’t know, they will get the guy who does. I like all the guys there, but my favorite is Dave.

Quite the friendly environment. Associates were immediate to attend. Material was at hand. In and out in little time. No hassles!! Thumbs up!!

I used to buy lumber from Home Depot and another local yard in Jersey City. I came to Dykes thinking they would be expensive but they actually are very good with price. Best part is the lumber is all straight and good quality. Ive gotten wood that looked like it came out of a swamp from some places before and if you build things regularly youll appreciate good quality lumber. I would recommend them highly.

Peter in the Weehawken store was such a gift! He was such a huge help with finding me base moldings. He also suggested a solution to the awful metal door frames in my condo. My contractor just installed those wood frames and they look fabulous. All the guys there are wonderful. I cant remember all of their names, but working with Peter was like dealing with the owner. He also looked like the guy from Dirty Jobs (I still think it might be him)!!! He totally fit the part of home improvement and knowledge. Loved my experience. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Dumb as a stump. GEORGE DIDNT even LISTEN to my question before he said NO. I know you sell wood, but can you hire humans?Dykes used to have a reputation for local honest business. But now it is unnecessary to continue working that way. Sure they might know more than the lugs at Home Depot or Lowes BUT HOW WOULD YOU KNOW IF YOU NEVER GO BACK.

Wont ever deal with them again, tried to use a local business and they messed up acustom order after measuring four times and taking pictures . Once they were paid theywould not do anything to correct their mistake . they could care less .
