J Howen was a referral from my insurance agent, first for a new hurricane garage door. They were the most competitive price of all garage door companies I solicited. So there was really little risk in going with J Howen, its just a garage door! Soon after installing the new garage door which went like clock work. I decided to replace all the sliding glass doors and 1/2 of the windows with hurricane windows/doors and dump the ugly shutters. I received bids from 6 different companies including the big box guys. I ended up back at J Howen. This was a big project for us and Trish at J Howen answered every question I had. She must have done more than a dozen quotes as we tried to find the right package. We finally got it and I placed the order!!As Covid began to reap havoc with delivery Robin (the owner) jumped and was able to get things back on track which gave me the confidence to actually add to my order!!!But the BEST part was the installation!!! An army of installers showed up! I was shocked. There were over 10 guys here. 2 on each opening!!! They were professional, polite and courteous, conscientious and just delightful…the work was complete, clean and as good as you could ever expect...Theres no question, I have 6 more windows to do and I be back for them with zero hesitation!!!! I needed to have my 11 shutters serviced and have the locks replaced. From the beginning, their staff were pleasant and wonderful to speak with. Helen was the person that I dealt with regularly, and I think we were best friends in another life! She was that awesome. 3 men, 3 hours of hard work to install our arched impact window above the front door. Beautiful job. They protected our home with clean tarp, moved furniture where necessary. After installation, cleaned up the little mess they made. No more standing on a ladder to close a hurricane shutter for us! A friend used them to install a new front door and was equally pleased.

The installation crew was here early this morning, with clean J Howen shirts, and clean looking Vans complete with all their supplies. They worked so hard as a team, efficiency and precise. Answered questions and said I would love the results when my windows were in. They were so right. This crew got along so well and worked together with confidence. I am so happy. J. Howen removed and replaced all of our windows and patio doors and replaced them with impact glass windows and doors from Eastern Architectural Systems. I am a contractor living in Canada so choosing a contractor and supplier in Florida when you do not know anything about them is a daunting challenge. Trish, my contact at J. Howen patiently worked with me and answered all my questions professionally, and gave me several options to choose from before we finalized our order. We went with a grey tint on a single pane glass. The house is a bit cooler now, and definately quieter with laminated glass. Timing was critical to us since we had a two week window between tenants, and J. Howne came exactly when we agreed and got the job completed within the time frame. Two of our windows were custom shapes and the new windows fit perfectly. I knew that the installation team would have some challenges since the width of the door jambs are wider than the old doors so cutting of the floors were required. They did a great cutting the floor, installing the doors, and caulking inside and out. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations, my thanks to the installation team. As for pricing, I had many quotes, J. Howens price was the lowest, with some big name companies quoting much higher. Save your money, the quality of the windows/doors that J. Howeninstalled is really good, and the installation team did a great job.

J Howen doors and shutters was wonderful. We had 2 Impact Windows put in and they did such a Professional and Beautiful job. Then we also had 6 shutters put in and they look great and are sooooo easy to open and close. They clean up after they are all done-You can’t even tell they were here. I would recommend them to anybody that needed doors or windows or shutters. The Girls in the office are so polite and efficient!! We had a great experience with this Company!!!!

Called about getting garage door spring repaired which they have on ValPak and guy was rude and said we don’t do that and hung up. Why is it on ValPak then??

Recently had a spring break on my double garage door. Every 3 years for the past 12 I have had the same company make this repair. I decide to try J Howen this time and was very impressed. The repairman had almost 30 years in the business and quickly noticed the current springs were too small for the size and weight of our door. He replaced both springs with a much stronger replacement which should last a lot longer. Repair was done quickly. Repairman was very nice, explained everything and cleaned up everything before he left. Definitely recommend!!!

This week we had J Howen install accordion shutters on our Oakmont home in VillageWalk. They communicated with us and promptly returned our calls. They arrived when scheduled. The crew was very professional and considerate. They worked quickly, but when precision was needed they took their time to do it right. It was all around an A1 job and an excellent experience.
