As for the actual antique shops, you will not find great bargains, they are not a pickers paradise. But you will find some reasonably priced, very wonderful unique finds you just have to have. One shop has an array of large items for both inside and outside of the home. Another has more coastal themed pieces. The rest I will check out when we return there tomorrow to pick up the things I would have purchased today.I came here to read the reviews based on our experience with the notorious Joanne. Shes a real character. We made the mistake of going into her shop first. Please dont be put off by her, her junk shop, or believe as I did, from her claims that she owns 17 shops implying she owns the other shops in the complex. I feel for her, hope she has family to help her, but am kind of aggravated by how she detracted from the other shops around her. From my experience with her I decided not to purchase from the other shops believing she was the actual owner. She should not be there.
Everyone is commenting how rude Joanne is but I think its the most entertaining thing ever. Sure, not what you expect from the owner of an antique shop, but her stories are amazing. While there she told us shed just gotten off the phone with Mike Pence and had dinner with Paul McCartney two weeks earlier. As long as you acknowledge her when you enter and leave, shell like you and tell you stories.
My husband and I stopped by to browse through these shops as they looked so cute and inviting from the outside. The first shop we stopped in had some very nice items and the owner was pleasant. The second shop we went into was the worst experience we have ever had as far as shopping goes. We were greeted by a woman named Joanne who seemed bothered that we even stepped into her shop. Very rude and insulting. Very mean and hurtful in the things she was saying. We were polite and quietly left her shop. We decided to try another shop and was told by the owner that they receive complaints about Joanne often. Unfortunately, for the other businesses in this mall Joanne is a terrible reflection on all of them. At least we know where to go in Wells the next time we feel like being insulted and made fun of.
I wish I had read the reviews first. Joanne is in fact rude and awful. I used a flashlight to check the details on a product and she yelled at me for taking pictures from across the room. She insulted every person that left and when I asked my boyfriend if he was ready to leave she butted in and said that was a stupid question. Completely uncalled for and nothing in these shops was worth listening to that.
Stopped in this afternoon, we were rudely yelled at in the flower/antique shop at the end that we were “ free to look around, but they closed at 4” it was 3:45. We promptly turned around and went to another store, nice ladies cool large pieces. Next store we approached was owned by “Joanne” who insulted us and each set of customers that came in. Really overpriced, kept saying “it’s all on sale, I own 17 stores and I don’t have time to mark down prices” save yourself the trouble, keep driving.
Great place to spend an hour or so.. Good mix including affordable items as.well.as.bigger ticket... Our fav way to spend a.day when it rains or we need a break from the beach/sun and we always find some treasures to buy
Some really cool things. Most are overpriced and the people who own the shops hover over you so I ended up leaving pretty quick. Personal space! let me browse to figure out how I would use what I want.
Loved it
