I did not have to wait long for my appointment. The staff is incredibly nice, explains everything clearly, and dont rush you. The doctors are friendly, thorough, and talk about all your eye concerns. My entire family goes to Kittery eye, we have seen multiple providers, and they are all amazing.

You dont need your eyes dialated after i said no 3 times they still insisted and did it. There is no reason to use cave man style eye care when we have imagining devices that can see your eyes withought dilation just go somewhere elts like eye glass shop in Portsmouth where they will never dialate your eyes. Dialation dose hurt it will make u have to take 2 days of life off from everything no cell phone use no ability to see or work you will have the worst headace u could imagine and good luck becuase at this place you will never get to try on glasses and they will never jave the right contacts on hand and never order glasses or contacts from them becuase they over charge 300$ for glasses that are 70 on 1-800 same deal with contacts as well 70 for a box online and they urge u to order thru them for tripple the cost and not even a good brand of contacts. I have to go back to a different eye dr. Now becuase the new grad who did my test messed up and went backwords on my prescription, had no eye glass prescription or contact prescription so that I couldnt order my stuff online felt like it was on purpose so i had to buy thru them dont whaste your time take my advice and go to kennebunk or Portsmouth

I brought both of my kids (7 and 9 years old) here and what a wonderful experience. I got appointments within a week of calling. Dr. McLaughlin explained everything in detail and in a way that myself and kids understood. She even got them comfortable enough for dilation with no issues. The entire staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions. Overall extremely happy with my experience and will be coming back in the future.

Great friendly people quick service and a lovely clean facility! They offer 50% off the appointment price if you are uninsured, which was incredible discount. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

We made the appointment over a week in advance. Gave them all the information, asked to be ABSOLUTELY SURE that they not only took our insurance, but were, in fact in network. We were assured that, yes they did, and yes they were. We went to the appointment, gave our insurance information (again) waited about 10 minutes and went back for our separate appointments. After the appointment, and when my eyes were so dilated I couldn’t see where my feet were, we were told it would be almost $300 each. Not the $10 copay for exam and $20 copay for glasses. When I asked about that, we were told we aren’t in network and they accept Cigna, but not our vision. Only medical. Not willing to work with us on anything they they screwed up on. Do not recommend. Will not return.

I generally dont leave reviews but when an experience is as wonderful as mine was people should know. The front desk was welcoming and the eye exam was a much more comfortable experience than I expected. I love the glasses that I picked out with the assistance of the fantastic staff! I get compliments on my new glasses almost every day!! Thank you Kittery Eye!!

I have been going to Kittery Eye for years and have enjoyed the friendly and courteous staff. I have seen four of the Optometrists and find each one pleasant and caring. It can also take me hours to find the right frames and I have never felt rushed or pressured.

I have been a patient of Kittery Eye and Kittery Optometrics for more than 10 years. As one who has had vision loss I am in need of special consideration. Everyone from front desk staff to my doctors to the optometry department have treated me with the utmost respect and professionalism I could ever come to expect. In many ways they have been a lifeline as I coped with the results of optic neuritis.

Kittery Eye has some of the best staff and eyewear selection Ive encountered in my 25+ eyes of wearing glasses. The doctor, opticians, and front desk staff are all knowledgable, helpful, and all around great! Plus I get compliments on my glasses all the time.

CRIMINAL WHAT THEY DID TO ME!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I WRITE THIS SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE!!! Wish I didnt have to give any stars!! I had not had my eyes examined in years. I did my due diligence in asking if I needed to know anything about my appointment or if I needed to have someone drive me. I was told I only needed to bring my insurance card & the doctor would only be examining my eyes that I would not need to have anyone drive me. I needed to fill out a sheet stating the meds I was on & if I was nursing (which I am). I passed in my paper work. The front staff was rude. They spoke loudly how they thought it was ridiculous that older woman (which I am) have babies & nurse them. They continued on to say women should have babies in their 20s. They laughed. I brushed it off for the most part...but I should have left seeing how the front staff was unprofessional...it got worse. I was seen by the eye doctor. She examined my eyes which was great. But during my eye examination she turned off the lights & using a pen light asked me to follow it with only my eyes. She then WITHOUT TELLING me beforehand said look up, which I did. She then Put Drops into my eyes WITHOUT TELLING ME FIRST!!! I said what did you just do?? She said oh I just put drops into your eyes to test for glaucoma. She condescendingly said Youre a big girl now & you need to have your eyes checked. She then said the drops have dilated your eyes so things may be blurry. I was upset but tried to remain calm (I was by myself & now I COULDNT SEE!!!) I couldnt make out faces, nothing..everything was VERY BLURRY). I told her I drove myself. She then said to me Ill re-check your eyes in 15min but while you wait you can look at our reading glasses you can buy!!!! Seriously!!??? She said if you want to see you can buy some readers. I went to the front desk (everything was super blurry) I told them I couldnt see & I needed help if they could please get me some readers. They said they didnt have any that Id need TO DRIVE TO THE DOLLAR STORE IF I WANTED TO SEE!!!?? Again they laughed. (Seriously I couldnt see & they wanted me to DRIVE!!!???) Again I told the doctor I was having a very difficult time seeing that everything was EXTREMELY BLURRY...I asked her how long this would last she said for 2HOURS!! Again I said I drove myself here & it would have been nice to have been told that Id need someone to drive me. Her response YOU CAN DRIVE DOWN THE STREET & BUY SOME READERS IF YOU WANT TO SEE!. I left to my car I could not dial anyone on my cell phone because I could not make anything out. Luckily my husband called me to see how the appt went! I sat in the parking lot & waited for him to pick me up! THIS WAS OUTRAGEOUS HOW THEY TREATED ME I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT!!! I HOPE THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ANYONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!

Everyone I know that wears glasses/contacts comes here and has nothing but positive things to say about the staff and service. You can tell the people here love their jobs and helping people.
