This place has become my all time favorite shoe source!After spending time a few years ago doing some work in the mountains around Lake Chelan, I noticed the more seasoned hardworking folks wore similar brand shoes (mostly Keens), the same as a close longtime friend wore. And she puts on more miles hiking, along with her dogs, than most ANYONE else I know.I asked her where she bought her hiking shoes and boots. It was at American Shoes!So years later now, I have three pair of Keens for various seasons and such as well as making use of an in-store shoe cleaning and repair shop (for maintaining my old cowboy boots and social-dance shoes). ;)

I am from Vancouver, BC and a few weeks ago I was visiting Wenatchee.I had no plans to visit a shoe shop and came in only because of the stores name :) Let me tell you it was a pinnacle of my visit to Wenatchee!! Its not just a shoe store . Its also a workshop ..I met Dustin, owner and maker of Vermilyea Pelle bags. Anyone who knows about handmade bags from leather and denim, know about him. But I had no idea his shop is there.It was my pleasure to chat with him, see his workshop...amazing guy with amazing skills.I must to mention THE SHOEMAKER and Cobbler !! ( Kevin if I am not mistaken my apologies I forgot your name) .I had a pair of Nicks William boots with me . I asked him if it would be possible to curve the heel same way as Whites do ..answer was sure, give me 15 min...Well he did trully amazing work !! I bought a pair of keens from here a few years ago and needed new insoles. They replaced the insoles and gave them a shoe shine. It cost me 12$.I bought a pair of light weight none leather keens from here and they stretched them for me. Took about a week.Very good service. Highly recommend.

These folks were awesome. We took our puppy in with us and no one was bothered. This shopping trip wasnt planned and was last minute because one of the boys couldnt find his other shoe and the days activities were requiring shoes and we were already behind schedule. So, 4 of us, plus puppy popped in, tried on and bought 2 pair of shoes quickly and efficiently while feeling appreciated rather than tolerated.

They were very nice and helpful to me here. Joe found an excellent pair of shoes for my injured feet that feel really good too. The shoes I needed had to have expensive inserts included also as recommended per my podiatrist, so Joe managed to find a way to include a small ($5) discount also.

They took great care with my mothers lifts for her shoes.

They carry Redwing and Keen safety shoes. If you need safety shoes for work, this is the only place you should go. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. You can order from the catalog if you cant find what you want in stock. Awesome 👍

Cool old American style shoe shop. Great to see some of the shoemakers working. A little pricey but worth the money. The shoes are excellent quality!

I live in Seattle and this shoe shop is one of my favorites. Whenever I visit Wenatchee, I always stop by and find something.I stopped by with my 3 kids (ages 6, 3 and 3) a few months ago and the sales team was outstanding. My kids were making last minute changes in what they wanted and the sales team ended up staying there an extra 20 minutes past closing time and I had no idea. They continued to be as helpful as when we got there and it wasnt until we were checking out did I realize they stayed late. When I mentioned it, they assured us it was no issue at all.This store is welcoming and I love that they also do repairs onsite. Thanks for such a great store!

Awesome customer service! Will actually measure your foot and assist you with putting the shoe on if you desire.I am 70 years old and have painful neuropathy. I was not rushed, ignored, patronized, or talked down to. Quite a bit different than what happens in most of the shoe outlets in Wenatchee .I highly recommend this business and would give them 10 stars if I could.

I buy my work boots and casual shoes here. They are always very helpful and offer great service! I have had several items repaired as well. Its great to have a full service shoe shop in town!

Very disappointed in the service. They are becoming too big and less caring for loyal customers, and unprofessional towards other local business. I have using their service for 25 years but Im done. I brought in a leather jacket that simply needed 2 snaps to be replaced. I was told it would take 6 to 10 days. On the tenth day, I went to ask about my jacket and I want told it would another 30 days. That is ridicules, a five minute job, they need 40 days.Poor customers service. The female clerk was rude and short. I asked for my jacket back and stated I would take to Neils Shoes. She went to criticize Neils Shoes saying that they have very little business and they need the business. Wrong. I went to Neil, they were very busy but took out the time to fit me since what I needed would a few minutes job. Shame on you, American Shoe Shop. Very unprofessional.

I received the best service at this store than in any shoe store I have ever purchased shoes in my life. I had been having trouble with my feet and I went into the store to purchased the most expensive hiking boot available. I tried on the Danner boot. It just did not seem right on my foot. The gentleman who waited on me suggest another brand which was on sale for half the money. I have been wearing the boot daily for 9 months. The Vasque hiking boot is the most comfortable boot I have ever worn in my life. If I am ever back in Wenatchee, I will return to the American Shoe Shop. I greatly appreciate the extra effort the salesman made on my behalf. I am a satisfied customer and I highly recommend the American Shoe Shop.

The repair shop here is probably a little understaffed (they always seem to be slammed every time I come in) but the service and the work they do is great. I had the straps on my sandals reattached, and they are better than when I bought them!
