The professional staff at Fred Astaire Dance in West Hartford are absolutely wonderful! I have been ballroom dancing for over 5 years with them and it has been an amazing experience. Ballroom dancing is like no other, its a great way to stay healthy, keep active, and be social with their group classes and Friday night dance parties, all while learning how to dance, for a new skill, for a wedding, or just for your self-confidence! Its a truly wonderful experience and is way more fun than running on a treadmill!But, if you are like myself, a more competitive person and really like to dive into learning something new and excelling at it, ballroom dancing with Fred Astaire West Hartford has been a dream experience unlike any other! From learning all the fine details of the Rumba, Cha Cha, Swing, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and more (there are 10 dances in total!), and then competing against other dance students at their many professional dance competitions put on throughout the year, this is the place to be! I have an amazing instructor, Boris, who guides and encourages me every step of the way to achieving my big goals. With his expertise, we have won 1st place at many regional competitions and once we even placed 2nd in the FADS World Championships!The owner of the studio, Clemens, is also pretty awesome! Besides coaching us on the dance floor, he makes the most beautiful custom competition ballgowns! Every student who competes always looks stunning on the dance floor when they wear one of his gowns. If you are a competitive ballroom dancer and need a dress- definitely see Clemens, he has a whole showroom of sparkly gowns available from kids to adults.My experience with FADS West Hartford has been nothing less than amazing. Ballroom dancing has changed my life, and I am looking forward to continuing to dance for many more years with them!

The Fred Astaire West Hartford Dance Studio is an amazing place to learn to dance! The staff and students are welcoming, friendly and fun. As well as being highly skilled dancers, the instructors are excellent and base their instruction on the individual goals of each student. My experience as a student in this studio has taken me on an incredibly wonderful journey of dance. This is a great place to experience and develop the joy of ballroom dancing!

You can probably learn to dance anywhere, right? So what makes WH FADS unique? At WH FADS, the teachers keep the focus on the positive, while delivering tailored, explicit feedback. In Zoom group classes, I learned how to use my arms gracefully, along with a new language (wait, what’s a passé again?) from Ervis Nalbani. I found there’s an infinite way of styling from Boris Medved. I learned that my core was in there and I am actually pretty powerful from Andrea Talia. But my (existential) review is for my ever creative, brilliantly diagnostic, always encouraging, intuitive, patient, and fun-loving teacher. With Clemens Lengenfelder, I met a life goal, learning to burst through my comfort zone and vaporize specific restrictions. Clearly, the benefits of having the right instructors are hardly confined to the dance floor. So you can learn to dance or you can learn to dance and expand. Your choice. I choose WH FADS.
