I was very happy with the service provided by the guys at Up & Down Garage Doors. They came out on a Monday afternoon and after explaining the options for our ailing doors (fix or replace) we came to an agreement. The men arrived the next day on the early side of their appointment window and did a phenomenal job fixing all the hardware on our two garage doors. They left everything immaculately clean, and were very friendly to deal with.If any of my friends need new garage doors I will definitely be recommending that they use this company. So should you!

I dont appreciate the company sending an UNVACCINATED worker to my home. The employee who serviced my garage doors seemed to do a good job, BUT had I known in advance that he was NOT VACCINATED I never would have hired this company.PEOPLE: GET VACCINATED. Were losing the race against the Delta variant (and the next ones) BECAUSE OF YOU.

These guys are awesome and so knowledgeable. I called on a Friday evening thinking that I would be be able to get service for my unresponsive garage door—it wouldn’t go down! They called me back and just walked me through how to fix it myself. They didn’t even need to be come see the problem. That’s how knowledgeable they are. I’ll be sure to call them for any future garage door needs and I refer all my friends and neighbors when they mention they need someone to fix their garage doors! They are awesome, courteous, super helpful. I wish more and more people were as awesome as these guys are!!!!

My cynical self has received a reprieve! I called Up & Down Garage Doors (based on recommendations) to describe my problem with my garage and, as I represented it, Miguel (the owner) explained that it sounded like an issue that may require replacing the system (which is quite old) and we scheduled a repair/replacement. Although his schedule was full and his truck in the process of being repaired, he assured me that he would call back and do the work as soon as he could...either the same day or the following. The cost of the work, although better than all other estimates I received was an unexpected burden to my budget at this point. But, I felt I had no choice and was reassured by his patience, willingness to answer my questions and my gut feeling (which is quite strong) that he was honest and had integrity. When I arrived from work this evening, I had further questions and concerns about the potential need to replace the system and called the company. It was approximately 7 pm. I received a prompt call-back from Miguel and planned the repair time. When I told him what I had noticed when I tried several things on my own about how the door and remote were responding, his immediate respond was...you dont need me, try the following... you dont need to spend the money. If that doesnt work call me back and I will come and diagnose the problem, if you want. I cant tell you how relieved and impressed I was. How many times do we receive such an honest response when we call someone for service. In my experience, almost never! Thank goodness for the few decent companies and individuals that still exist and lets do everything to reward and reinforce that kind of treatment.Thank you Miguel! Respectfully, DSF from Essex, CT.

At first, I gave this company a glowing review for coming right out to repair my garage mechanism. Eight months later I had to call them out because it was making so much noise that I couldn’t tolerate it anymore. When the technician got here he took one look at it and told me that it was installed improperly and that there was no safety mechanism on the springs and that if the spring ever broke it would be a projectile. I believe he only told me that because he wasn’t aware that his company installed it. When I told him he couldn’t believe it and made me show him paperwork, twice. I think if he knew it was his company, I never would’ve gotten the truth. He told me the job would take 20 minutes but it actually took an hour and 20. When I asked him if he was going to report the faulty job to the owner, he told me that that technician was long gone. It made me wonder if the company knew that he was not installing mechanisms properly but never followed up with their customers. The current technician was all packed up and ready to go when I saw that the emergency pull cord for my garage door was laying in pieces on the ground. When I asked him about it, he told me it was old and frayed and just pulled apart. He was actually going to leave without replacing the emergency pull cord. I had to ask him to find material to replace it and it seemed to really put him out to have to go in his truck and get a brand new cord that he obviously had at the ready. How do you come out to repair somebody’s garage door, find out that it was an issue where the person or their property could’ve been severely hurt or damaged, and then leave a job without replacing the emergency pull cord?  Do not use this company.

Excellent service! They were able to quickly troubleshoot within minutes my garage door is back to working. Thanks again for a job well done.
