Awesome hardware store. They stock just about everything youd hope a hardware store would have. If you cant find it, make sure you ask one of the staff--they know where everything is--because most likely they have what you are looking for.

Punch the address into your GPS - do NOT trust Google for this one!Apart from that, this is one of the best neighborhood hardware stores in LA - big, well-stocked, large selection, friendly help (which youll need for a bunch of stuff; Romex, for instance, is stocked high up on a wall.Being a neighborhood hardware store, of course, its a bit pricey; you wont be buying truckloads of supplies here unless you won the lottery. But for emergency DIY runs its unbeatable.

The staff, especially cashiers, can be VERY rude. I don’t know why, but it’s a little unreal. I saw one shout so loud at an old man who wasn’t clear on the flow of the entrance because it was different during Covid. Contractors have mentioned it to me, too. Do not, I repeat, do not, buy anything if you may need to return it. Their policy is too inflexible, even when you think you fall within the guidelines. Today I had a bad experience and while I will miss the cool selection of products and space saving gadgets they have. I will not be back.

This is a local gem! Incredibly nice, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Large and well stocked store. This is the best way to support a local business in these times! If I can avoid going to a big box store at all, this is my first choice for a hardware store. I dont even care if my receipt is a dollar or 2 more if it helps keep this 83 year old business operating and its always so much fun to browse around in there. Highly recommended

This place is horrible. Their staff is aggressive and the owners are simply rude. I’ve been snubbed and met with aggressive behavior every time I’ve come in. I love local businesses and do what I can to support them, but the spirit of community does not thrive at Koontz. The best example was when I went to purchase a filter and wasn’t sure the size I needed. They assured me I could exchange it if it was the wrong size. When it was and I came back they told me it was my mistake and they don’t make refunds or exchanges. I don’t feel comfortable here or trust them.

Koontz hardware has been my hardware store for the last 10 years. They have always had the most reliable customer service and it’s always been such a pleasure to shop there. Today I attempted to return two sheet pans that were unused and still had their tags on. The receipt clearly stated at the bottom that only exceptions to returns are tools and anything after 30 days. Nowhere does it say that cookwear is non returnable due to Covid. No signs in the cookwear isle, no clerks upon checking out. The female clerk behind the counter told me someone in cookwear would have told me or the clerk checking me out would have warned me, I attempted to explain that was not the case. Immediately she began to yell at me, and when I asked to speak to a manager to seek customer service, the manager was even worse than the clerk. He told me there were signs outside stating this and when he attempted to show me he couldn’t even find them himself. Every time I would tell him that this was not something that I was informed of and that there are no signs stating this, he just nodded his head and yelled, “yes, yes”. This message is to the owners: please talk to your managers and clerks and teach them something about customer service and that yelling at the customer is not advised when running a business. Now I’m stuck with $30 worth of aluminum sheet pans that will go to waste.

Koonz hardware save is considered one of West Hollywoods most first-rate stores. The personnel are first-rate beneficial and the entirety ive searched for is either in inventory and available or effortlessly acquired.thank you Koonz.

I first went to Koontz Hardware on July 7,2020 and to say I was overwhelmed by the stores layout, selection, and mostly the experienced journeyman staff there is an understatement of mammoth proportion! It reminded me of the old Clark and Dye Hardware store in Orange County in the 70s, I couldnt believe it!The staff is very helpful and friendly, in particular A.B. and Gene whom I found to be of class ilk nowadays virtually gone, with knowledge of exactly what you need, the right what you need, and all the knowledge about it, which Ive not experienced in 40+ years. Kudos to both of them and Koontz Hardware!👍P.S. Blanca and the ladies in the front are also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

I know its a small neighborhood store, so they dont carry 1 inch electrical liquid tight. The bigger hardware stores dont either. They have mostly everything else needed for home repairs though. Very nice store.

Koontz is THE hardware store. Whatever you might be looking for you will find it here. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. There is parking lot on the premises however it is small.

One of the last truly great hardware stores! These guys really know their stuff and arent stingy about sharing their knowledge. Yes, youll generally pay more than at a warehouse store, but you can be in and out in five minutes here, rather than spending ten minutes looking for a place to park! =;-{>

In the era of big box hardware stores, Koontz Hardware is a throwback to a time gone by. This is the ultimate neighborhood hardware store. If you needed it, they most likely have it. Thankfully they have very friendly and knowledgeable sales people that can help you navigate the maze of floor to ceiling aisles to help you find exactly what you need (check out the very back of the store for several floor to ceiling aisles of nothing but every type of drawer or cabinet knob imaginable). These people are not only helpful when it comes to locating the product you need, they are also extremely knowledgeable in all types of home related repairs and renovation projects. Share your renovation idea with them and they will happily share with you the different options and alternatives they have available to not only make your project easier to do but also to give it that extra wow factor. You do not get service like this at a big box store. If you start coming here regularly their staff will remember your first name after only 3 or 4 visits making you feel like one of the Koontz Hardware family in no time. This is a hardware store where everyone knows you name, remembers the projects you were/are working on and are genuinely interested in how those projects are progressing. You will never want to go back into a big box hardware store once you have had the pleasure of letting the staff at Koontz help you with all of you repair or renovation needs.

How customer service used to be is how Koontz operates on a daily basis. I have had great experiences with every member of the staff and Im happy to support a local business that puts customers first.

I really wish I had called these guys sooner. You will think the same thing when you see how clean and fresh your carpets can be after Ofer gets done with them.Ofer is a very thorough and precise person. He will give you the truth about your carpets. But he will also do a great job. Hes incredibly professional and takes obvious pride in work well done.

When you go into the store you get a sense that it is very cluttered. And it is cluttered. But upon inspection, you can pretty much find anything that you want in terms of hardware and other miscellaneous items minus Lumber items. Been shopping there for many years, and have been very satisfied even though the items they sell can be a bit pricey. Check it out!

I bought a fan from here and tried to return it within a 30 day window ( which is what the receipt indicates for returns) because it was tipping over and knocking over things in my bathroom repeatedly. To my dismay when I got there, I was told fans and heaters could not be returned after 24 hours, and that there were signs by the fans and all over by an employee named Patty.I spoke with a manager who told me that the particular fan Polar Aire is just fine for them in the store and it does not tip over. I told him that I understand it may not do that for them but Im telling them what it was doing in my house and what I had experienced with it.They both told me they could not do a refund because of their 24 hour policy and that signs are by the fans and everywhere.I told the manager I would be willing to look at tower fans he had that wouldnt tip over, which he told me again the fan I had bought would not tip over, yet again had to tell him it did for me.While he was grabbing tower fans, I looked around the fans and heaters. No sign. I looked at the receipt. 30 days was all that was mentioned there. When I bought the fan, it was not mentioned that there was any different policy for fans. So essentially, no signs or notice.When I mentioned this to the manager, he had Patty refund my money. After she refunded I asked her where the signs were. She told me all over and I asked her where. She said it didnt matter because I got my money back. I still wanted to see these signs that are all over and by the fans and heaters but she said she would not show me.I left pretty upset and felt lied to by a local business I have bought things from for a long time. I did eventually see a small notice about fans and heaters but it was amongst a bunch of other things on a poster board that is very easy to miss, and thats the only notice I saw.I am very upset with my experience. Patty was not only not helpful, but she was rude and her customer service was pretty terrible.I have shopped at Koontz many times, but after this experience I will no longer be shopping there nor do I recommend it. Go to Anawalt Lumber down the street, they have most of what Koontz does and great customer service and help, without mostly hidden policies.

My favorite hardware store in LA. I have a cheap landlord so Im always fixing the little things myself and replacing items from last century. Home Depot/OSH do not carry older items anymore. But Koontz does! They have all kinds of specialty products. 5 stars for Koontz!

Needed cement, rat poisoning at 6pm. parking nice, walk in the door to cashier asking what you want and she accurately said where to look- stocked well and a very good looking, enthusiastic guy was there who got me exactly what i wanted, walked it to the register, then found me to tell me so. this remains the best small town hardware store...on earth. bring your wallet - but its worth it.my bud says he thinks theres a darkroom attached somewhere. lol. it is crazy sexy, but so far, just a hardware store

Lol... never underestimate the power of an urban hardware store. This place is a maze, a true testament to maximizing the less space more use challenge. Puts regular F.A.R boring suburban ratios to shame. If you cant find something of course theres the internet deliver to store option. Only problem would be parking. Thats life.

There are always 30 people working, just standing around. Most of them get really annoyed when you ask them questions they need to try and figure out a solution for. They are good telling you aisles and pointing in directions, but terrible in actually helping you. Just terrible service

I had such a horrible experience at Koontz the other day that Ill likely never come back, even though I live just up the street. It took me an hour to exchange a tool because of a rude tools department associate, awkward policies, and a manager that did not seem to enjoy interacting with customers. Really disappointed because its such a cute local hardware store.

Finally I have found somewhere in L.A. that sharpens sissors - price seemed reasonable until I went to pick them up - Original quote was $12.00 per sissors - but THEY DIDNT MENTION extra $8.00 to take each pair apart. The pointed out it was in the FINE PRINT. Just give me the full price and be done please.
