Wonderful store. Store, including pharmacy, is open 24 hours. Well staffed, all employees are courteous and helpful. Have had only great shopping and pharmacy experiences here.
ALERT‼️‼️‼️I don’t know who runs the West Islip Montauk hwy store but management please fire him/her immediately!!! The pharmaceutical department is understaffed and poorly ran. The lines are long and none of the workers care. CVS continuously promotes home delivery for $10 a month. I believe they encourage their employees to move really slow so people can (opt-in) get their medication delivered. Yes, you heard me correctly, CVS encourages their staff to take their time, it’s a marketing strategy!!
Please do better. Was waiting for pain meds for a severe case for over 50 minutes when I was told it would be 20 and my name would be called.I got back in line after 50 minutes and they had been ready for who knows how long. They need to hire staff. If you cant get anyone, pay more. They have the business.
If you go to this location you will agree and understand
This store has not been staffed properly for months. Pharmacy phones are never answered and drive through is closed more often than not due to lack of staff. Management needs to get their act together. Makes people go to Rite Aid. Staff is being worked to death. Poor management.
I honestly don’t know how the older man who is a cashier is still there. He is so unbelievably rude, every single time. I give him my # for the rewards card and he huffs. When he’s finished scanning my items, he either doesn’t tell me my total, or he rounds it up to the higher number. Doesn’t tell me to put my card in, so I’m just standing there waiting. Doesn’t even say goodbye or have a nice day. I dread checking out when I see he’s there. Happens every time. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Other than that the staff and store is great!
The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the actual cvs store is good and is always fully stocked but the pharmacy would be 0 stars. I used to go there for years because it was the only pharmacy close to my house and every time there was some kind of problem. All of the following experiences were things that happened to me here more than once:-they don’t have my medication and have to order it making me wait a few days for a medication I’m dependent on-I was told by cvs employees that it’s a New York State law that I need a driver’s license to pick up my prescription. I have other forms of photo ID but they only except a state ID(I later found out isn’t true, it’s just their own made up rule) so every time I had to get my medication I needed to have my dad pick it up for me and show his ID because he has the same last name which is really weird and arbitrary rule.-We would have to wait at least a half hour to an hour for a prescription even when the store isn’t full-Whenever I would try to call them over the phone, they make me wait for a half hour and when I finally did reach someone, they hang up-Even if none of these other issues didn’t happen by some miracle, there was still some type of issue with them filling the prescription which I never had happen at another pharmacy or with any of my doctors-The store is just overall really uncomfortable and they always have the heat cranked up in thereFor the longest time I just thought that going to the pharmacy was an overall unpleasant experience until I started going to a new independent pharmacy and have been going there for years now without a single one of these problems. There is no “New York ID rule”, they don’t even ask for a non state ID when I pick up my meds. There is never a wait at all. They never run out of my medication. Everyone knows what they are doing and there is never some mysterious issue because “the computer is broken”. I’ve come to realize that cvs and it’s entire pharmacy system is just flawed and not good. Just don’t get your medication here. Everything else is good.
Honestly the long waits to speak to a pharmacist is extreme I have now called10 times waiting 25 to 40 minutes at a time. I have so much that I have to do and worrying about my moms medication shouldnt be one of them. I made a request for refills 2 days ago on 4 medications, I thought I picked them up today but it was the medications on autofill and I need the 4 because shes ot. Im not driving back with my 2 kids I need to speak to someone and no one is answering. Im seriously considering another pharmacy.
Without a doubt the WORST CVS Ive ever been in, and Ive been in a lot of CVS stores in a number of states and, until know, have preferred CVS over other pharmacy/general merchandise stores. I just moved back to the area and figured Id have all my meds transferred to this very conveniently-located store, but that will not be the case. After my fourth try at this store, Im giving up thinking Ill ever feel comfortable shopping here. A quick summary is that the employees -- from the check out to the pharmacy -- are, (with one exception) unfriendly, rude, poorly informed, and just dont give a wit about customers. Aside from rude customer service (when you can manage to catch someones attention), the stock in the general merchandise area is odd and ill conceived. Rite Aide, here I come!
CVS, store 922 doesnt answer calls, has broken registers @drive through for days. Staff-curt bc they are short staffed. Pharm go someplace else. It looked like a bomb went off yesterday with at least 6+ staff. An unorganized assembly line with baskets of filled RX on the floor.bordering dange3 They only reason this place is open is bc of their buying power. Some of the staff try but it is a losing battle
Great CVS store to stop in and grab somthing quick. Store wasvery clean, organized, and well stocked. Bathrooms were also kept clean.I did not use the pharmacy as i was visiting from out of town, but it appeared to have happy customers and short lines.Plenty of parking, and checkout was quick and had multiple friendly staff members.
These 5 stars are for GABRIELLE from the pharmacy. I was struggling to find a prescription and I was getting very upset because the alternative med wasnt covered (over $450!)... I called 5 pharmacies on my own with no luck and she took the time to call around to find it for me. This pharmacy is SUPER busy and she went above and beyond for me. Thank you Gabrielle. You made a stressful day much better.
I had my wisdom teeth taken out last week and when I picked up my prescription I noticed there was only ibuprofen and amoxicillin. After I picked up the prescription I got an automated call saying it was ready for pickup. I thought it was an error so ignored it. I got another one days later so finally went back and noticed I was also prescribed oxycodone. It would have been nice if they told me in person they had more for me and the prescription wasn’t complete. I was in pain all week taking ibuprofen. Also, you know when you go to a supermarket and they ask if you have a card with them? If you don’t they usually just scan one for you. Well not at CVS. They just say, “you need a card for that deal.” Honestly, this place sucks.
Pharmacy line is usually at least 10 minutes long. Usually end up going 2x per Rx even if its ready due to computers down, line too long, or clerical errors.
The phone stays on hold for a very long time before someone picks up in the pharmacy. It’s very frustrating that I’m still on hold after 15 minutes.
Does anyone answer the phone in any CVS pharmacy? I always end up driving there and still be on hold. Wonder why I go to mom & pop pharmacy. Front end is the only good help.
I went to pick up my prescription, there were 5 or 6 cars ahead of me. My turn and the girl asks me if I have insurance because the charge shows my cost at 100%. It took a few minutes to straighten out, then she says the prescription needs to be rerun so I can either come in to get my prescription or drive around and get back on line...um really. When I said no, she got a male co-worker to come and tell me there were 2 cars behind me and I needed to go. It wasn’t my fault that a prescription that I’ve been getting for years was processed wrong by you not me yet I was the one that suffered the consequences of their inept help.
Usually I had a great experience here during my last visit. Who knew
Awful service. Bathroom was worse then a port-a-potty. Stocks not stocked just awful!
Absolutely trash service. I have gone to pick up my medication 10 times and have not been successful, that’s not an exaggeration I kept a tally. After calling to verify my prescriptions were ready and I could pick them up they were unable to give it to me because “it wasn’t ready, they forgot to order it or the prescription was lost in the system, some vague NY law was stopping them”. I was lied to about the classification of my medication and that’s why they wouldn’t give it to me. I Immediately called my doctor to verify and he said that was incorrect. After calling and speaking to the manager turns out they just never ordered it again.Multiple occasions I lapsed on important medications because of their negligence. I would advise everyone to avoid this cvs like the plague.
Overnight staff of this CVS are balm for the soul. I come in after work to pick up meds for Mother-in-law, and I feel like this is my version of “Cheers” ( yes, the sitcom). Special thanks to William, who usually mans the front check out, and the two wonderful pharmacist, Keith and Lady who alternates with him. I am sorry to be so bad with names, but I do think you are Great. Thank you for being such caring and wonderful people.
I honestly hate having to go here for any RX. The pharmacist tend to be fine but the help they hire to work in the pharmacy leaves a lot to be desired. To put it as simple as possible they are annoying morons. If you can go somewhere else your better off. To bad Costco wasn’t 24 hours.
West Islip store is the best store in Long Island
Pharmacy has no one in charge that can adequately run a pharmacy. Prescriptions are NEVER ready. Often they do not return calls to let you know when it is ready or if further action is needed. They are extremely deficient and need proper training. Go anywhere else!
This is the worst PHARMACY Ive ever delt with, always screwing up which insurance to use for each prescription . After a year of trying to have them get it right, Ive decided to go elsewhere.
They literally wont answer the phone. I dont unserstand, is this how you operate a business? Your staff should be fired.
WORST pharmacy. The people they have answering the phones are extremely rude. I receive a text message a week before my prescription is set to refill and it still sometimes takes TWO WEEKS AFTER my refill date for it to be ordered. I will be transferring my prescription to another CVS and will never do business with the CVS Pharmacy in West Islip again.
So far today Ive been on hold for pharmacy for over an hour and disconnected 3 times. Not real impressive!
I went there to get a quick snack with a group of friends picked up a ball and put it back in the cage and was accused of making a mess by the store manager. Who did nothing about the horrible mess in the store already. Its amazing how you cant help people any more the store manager has to go asap.
Extremely rude people working in there. I understand we have a crisis at the moment. Me and my aunt were going to but supplies and he screamed at us one per household and made me return my items. I understand we need to limit but he was extremely pushy and extremely rude. I honestly couldn’t believe the rudeness. Awful.
I share the same frustrations as many all ready have: They dont answer the phone for myself or the doctors office, And I have witnessed the staff ignore the phone ringing. There is a systemic problem with the way they mange the work tasks. I am now on hold with the CVS complaint department as I write this comment and have been on hold for over 10 minutes thus far. I will be looking into moving my prescriptions to Walgreens. I just feel bad for the seniors who may not be able to tolerate such frustrations and poor service. The poor service at this CVS acts a barrier to seniors and others to accessing good quality health care. This is shameful.
I never have an issue here. Always neat and clean. I go to the pharmacy quite often. They are quick and they are helpful.
Have experienced all the complaints that everyone has written.. however, best is how my daughters prescription which she needed to ASAP, was never received and got someone else’s prescription!! They are horrible rude unprofessional and disgusting service.. called many times to Corpate to complain in last few years obviously that doesn’t work!!!! Maybe News 12 and or 7 should go there .. so fed up.
CVS asks for your phone number and constantly calls and texts you to automatically renew all your prescriptions. They NEVER give you the name of the drug or any useful information so that you never even know what prescription they are trying to get you to renew. They refused.to fill my diabetic supplies without my home phone number. When I asked why, they simply refused to answer me. (It is obviously so they can have a computer call you and text you). They are covered by Medicare B which, is the only reason they were sent there in the first place. In today’s world of electronic prescriptions you cannot even go elsewhere since you don’t have a paper prescription to bring to another pharmacy. In addition the West Islip store is very slow to fill prescriptions and they are NEVER completed when promised. The Staff is often rude! I only go there to get my Medicare B stuff or my regular pharmacy is closed and I need to begin the drug immediately. It simply is a HORRIBLE experience to deal with them!
Always had great service and polite helpful staff.
Probably the worst pharmacy ever always a new rule stopping me from filling meds I cant be without . They know me very well at the CVS by me because Ive told then to go f themselves plenty of times because they always making up new rules that I feel only apply to me. I will ne switching pharmacys
So disappointed with the staff. I’ve gone to this pharmacy for years and today was by far the worst. If people are unhappy with their job or don’t like to deal with the public perhaps its time to find a new career. I was trying to solve an issue my father in law was having and the staff could not be any less helpful. I understand it’s a busy place place but maybe try to understand the situation before rolling your eyes and cutting off a call on hold that I was conferenced in on right there in front of you?!?!
Being on hold for over a half hour is absolutely ridiculous. Dont ever bother calling because youll be on hold forever. And then when someone does finally answer you may or may not just get hung up on😡 plus if you dont like a job where you have to deal with people on a daily basis then dont get a job that does just that
My friend and I put our bikes in the store so they don’t get stolen and Mr. Tuffguy/bossman came up and grabbed the bike which broke his brake wire and cost a lot of money to fix. We told him sorry and he kicked us out after we came back to buy something. Please do not come to this store with rude managers and employee
BAD SERVICE,WAITED ON LINE OUTSIDE FOR OVER 25 MIN,SLOW SERVICE, I PULL UP TO THE WINDOW, A TECH FINALLY COMES TO THE WINDOW. THINK IT WAS TAYLOR HER NAME, VERY RUDE HAD ME WAITING THERE FOR ANOTHER 5 10 MIN, I FINALLY DRIVE AWAY AND GO INSIDE, CAUSE I HAVE ASKED HER A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT MY MEDICATION, INSTEAD SHE WAS BUSY TEXTING ON HER PHONE. WHEN I WAS INSIDE SHE WAS VERY RUDE. THIS CVS HAS GONE DOWN BAD IN SERVICE. I THINK I WILL BE SWITCHING OVER TO WALGREENS. WILL NOT BE RETURNING.
They don’t pick up the pharmacy phone. I went down to check a prescription and the announcement said that there was three calls on hold....it would have been four!!! Moving my prescriptions to Walmart
Horrible/rude customer service. Pharmacy doesn’t answer phone and couldn’t be slower with filling necessary prescriptions.
Everyone at the pharmacy is rude to our senior citizens and rude to me as well .what a shame for our great neighborhood.jeees.
Helpful, friendly, informed staff. Clean and organized facility. Good experiences with the pharmacy.
Rude terrible service
Nice new store, can get a little busy, but they always try and open more registers when the line gets long.
Ive been to many Cvs locations and this by far is the worst especially when it comes to the pharmacy it is the most unorganized pharmacy Ive ever been to. I had one prescription sent over from the ER April 30th an hour before I got there. Once I got there I wasnt in the system nor was the medication ready that was another hour I had to wait minf u its about 10pm.Today 5/11 my Doctor sent over A prescription early this morning i called and someone assured me the prescription would be ready for pick up in an hour I go an hour later not only was the prescription not ready it wasnt even there. The pharmacist claimed she called me leaving me a message saying they wasnt able to fill it but she spoke with a nurse from my doctors office and they sent it to a rite aid never said what rite aid or what nurse she had spoken with. I got no such message from her my doctors office said they have no notes In the system they spoke with anyone from Cvs. I called rite aid they said they havent received any prescription for me. On top of that the pharmacist had the nerve to tell me I should consider just using one pharmacy. She was unprofessional and should be trained properly. There was even one employee standing at the drop off counter on his cell phone. Whole pharmacy is insane.
Insensitive, rude and beyond disorganized. The wait times are insane. Never write notes on your specific situation, everytime I go there Im treated like Ive never been there before, and am not a priority. Switching asap.
Friendly Staff. Good coupons. Clean Store.
I went to pick my prescription and it wasn’t ready at 3 Was told to come back the next day around 4pm because they were out of stock. I called the next day around 3 asking if they have filled my prescription and they said they don’t even have anything for me at all in their system. Wasted two days waiting for my medicine. So unorganized. Never experienced anything like this with other cvs.
Ive used CVS for years from Massachusetts to Florida. Unfortunately now I use West Islip since its local and 24 hours and have to say outside of some of the pharmacists the place is a horror show. The pharmacy aaaiatants are a joke, morons at best that cause more nausea then food poisoning. The front end staff is terrible and illiterate and I cringe every time I go there. I can hear others complaining each time Im there. I wish there was another 24 pharmacy close by.
Well organized store and helpful pharmacists.
Nice big store with lots of inventory
Is this the Higbe lane location across from the library? I just dont see a point in being so disgustingly oppressing, violatingly biggetted, and downright nosily rude as to displaying publicly someones ending account balance onto a screen at the register as though the person with an account doesnt know how to check their balances for themselves. I hope such degradation and nastiness doesnt backfire on them one day. They must not have seen the people that they disrespect so openly as equals, therefore must probably have some catching up to do. Such as learning. Being taught right and to do right.
Good. had what I needed. New store
The current store manager is a terrible human being, it doesnt take him long to start yelling at the customers, I guess his name is Dave. CVS corporation must take notice of their employees behavior and take appropriate actions
Beautiful store but horrible cellphone service. Had to go outside to download my pictures from my phone in order to print them out
They make up their own rules for otc purchases (which is about 16% of what the federal regulation is) and lie stating that there is a state law regulating stuff when there isnt.
Brand new!!! Nice and clean and fast service!
Horrible with the phone.
I have been going here for years and they continue to figure out new ways to screw up my prescriptions.
Horrible phone system ! been calling all day from a doctors office and I havent get in touch with them
Helpful staff
