I’m probably biased since I work at Ace Hardware (although we aren’t really competitors) but it’s shocking how there is essentially no customer service. I don’t think I saw a single employee until I went to check out. I’m not the handiest person but I know all about tools and other hardware from my job so luckily I was able to find what I was looking for or appropriate substitutions, but many people would be completely lost and totally without guidance. What’s the point of having such a big store if a) you don’t even have much selection and b) no one can find anything or even an employee to help them. Seems like a wasted opportunity.
Very friendly not to expensive great place to shop for anything under the sun
This Menards is a great store. I can find help when I needed it. Good prices.
Nice store. Enjoy the unique items I sometimes find in here. Will not use their ship to store option ever again for an out of stock item though. Waited almost a month then finally just drove over to another location that showed they were in stock to purchase that day.
Helpful staff. Found exactly what we needed and someone helped load in the lumber yard without us even having to ask!
Tried to buy j channel from rays list clearly marked at $1.50 per piece,at the register some how it rang up 1.25 per foot, could have bought the right supplies I needed for 6$ wow, guess Menards needs to get their shit together and put their inventory in the right spot
We purchased over $3,000 worth of appliances, tools, materials, etc. while renovating our house because we knew they were having the 11% rebate sale and would get store credit back. Unfortunately, we mailed in over $300 in rebates and our rebate check was never sent. It says they were mailed back to us but we’ve checked every day since (I even work from home so I can see when the mail is delivered), and they have definitely not come. Menards has no way of contacting the third party they use for rebates, not even a phone number, so there goes $300. Absolutely no customer service, and I don’t understand why they would still use Rebates International when it has tons of complaints about people not receiving their rebates.During renovations, we also had to travel all the way back to the store and exchange the sander we rented because they didn’t even bother to check or switch out the sanding pads first, so there went a whole day of labor. Also had to exchange our shower head THREE times because each one was broken. If you were thinking about shopping here, I would not. Lowe’s has cheaper and better products (sometimes even cheaper than Menards cost WITH the 11% rebate), and way better customer service.
They had the parts that I needed to hang a floating shelf on my wall, but thats about it. The two people I asked to help me rehang a shelf that had just fallen, cracking and breaking several precious items in the process, dismissed me and gave me poor advice, including not trying at all. In the end google and my dad helped me more and were more respectful. Then I bought the parts and went home. The parts worked and got the job done, but I will drive across town to another store before returning to such poor customer service.
Huge selection, great prices, best of the big box stores.
Had a great experience and was directed to right where I needed to find what I was looking for.
Clean well organized store always great price
Found everything I needed. Pleasant employees!
I make frequent trips here for work and personal reasons..they usually have exactly what I need and their prices r reasonably competitive. Their floor staff is very knowledgeable and friendly
Great store and staff, but their wood selection is pretty trash, its all warped and split. If you need wood Von Tobel or Hollingsworth Lumber is a better bet.
Good all-around hardware store that will get you through 90% of your home projects. They have a great selection of woods - mostly construction grade, but also finer cuts and special woods.Their nuts and bolts selection is good, but you have to buy bulk packs of everything. If you need just a few of something, hit Ace Hardware. They seriously lack in the power tools department. I go to Home Depot for that. The Mastercraft doors are surprisingly solid. I picked up one for an interior door and it works and installed just dandy. The real reason to go to Menards is their selection of weird Italian things. Theyve got to be involved with the Italian Spaghetti Mafia or something because they always carry these unique brands of olive oil, pasta sauce, pesto, and other things. Prices on these things are quite reasonable. They dont give discounts for military veterans, so I give the nod to Lowes and Home Depot for that.
They were friendly and willing to help. I usually shop at Lowes, but this particular Menards had what I was looking for. I definitely would come back to this hardware store again.
Helpful staff and excellent online ordering - Logan in pick up/delivery is great to work with!
It was awesome. Thanks
They never order stuff until the last one comes off the shelf. Always out of stuff. Better off going to Home Depot or Lowes.
Easily found what I wanted and saved big money.
Great store. Always helpful.
The employees are usually really nice and helpful. The aisles dont feel like theyre trying to cram as much merchandise in as possible. They do have a lot of options to choose from.
Went to look at their selection of recliners. They had some that we liked. Decided to go look at some furniture stores, found some we really liked and were a little less than the Menards selection.
I love Menards. They a great selection of many household items. Always clean, very helpful.
Always amazing hardware store when I need something they usually have it
Stop in at menards to pick up two wiper blades in a rain storm. Menarss had what I needed at a affordable price. Friendly staff.
They didnt have my coffee or my beer
Well stocked, clean facility and very helpful staff
Found the pavers I needed, copied down the number and went to checkout. Waited in line, and was told I need to go back to the project desk to have a paper written to get my 6 pavers. Proceeded back to the project desk to wait for 15 minutes to get my paper so I can buy 6 pavers. Got my paper and waited in line again to check out. Drove to the outdoor check in and waited in line to get my 6 pavers. Got in and picked up my 6 pavers. Waited in line on the way out to get checked to make sure I wasnt stealing. A total of 5 times waitng in line for 12 pavers. Definitely not a customer friendly process.
Yes they are very good and there a gentleman Jacob worked at the house materials supply he is the good and humble welcome man.
Better than some of the other box stores but the layout is a bit strange. People working were polite and said hello but no one offered to help find anything.
With a little assistance from the very friendly staff we were able to find everything we needed at a very good price.
Very clean, very helpful people, 11% off everything. What more could you want?
I personally like menards but couldnt find anyone to help find what i needed.
Large variety. Good prices and rsbates
Great prices, location and helpful employees.
Team member great just dont carry parts for water pump we bought there
Only spray paint I could find was rustoleum.
Holy mask nazis! My money will no longer be going to menards and I spend a lot there with our account. Cards and accounts have been cancelled and they won’t get another dime from me.
Great store! They have even some groceries, toys, seasonal decorations, and such, all one could need! I enjoy their plantings in the spring as well, they have a little of everything. Menards has you covered!
This is one of my favorite places.
After multiple time of waiting in this store with no help. (Except for the older gentleman in plumbing, who is outstanding) and having to purchase a mask to even shop there, let alone talk to customer service, I will never shop here again. I Wish Id have spent the thousands of dollars elsewhere for no more thanks than Ive gotten for my years of patronage Ive given this store.
I went in looking for some plumbing ideams. The staff there was very nice and was able to show me where I could find what I was looking for and helped me get the right parts also. While I was there I picked up some replacement bulbs for my Christmas lights.
No one is interested in being there.
Horrible customer service. I suggest you try Home Depot or Lowes. Sunday at 7:30 PM is the only time associates truly WANT to help you at this store (they want you to leave) otherwise, good luck . During normal business hours, most associates will pretend that you dont exist. Poor customer service culture and it seems to be a management issue.
Staff helpful when not locating item looking for
Stopped by for car cleaning supplies. Everything I needed at a competitive price.
We shop here nearly everyday. We just wish they would expand to SW Florida!!
Clean. Helpful employees.
This location is always friendly and helpful. On this occasion, I ordered a fire ring for a backyard project and was disappointed when I was told it would be three weeks before it would arrive. Surprisingly, I received a text notification it arrived today, six days after placing my order. They really came through this time!
I had to ask for assistance, and the associate was not very polite. Also, one of the items I was needing were out of stock, none on the shelves. Galvanized trash can with lid.
During Covid 19 you need to bring your own mask or you will have to purchase a mask to enter for$1 which is okay due to the pandemic. Every staff member is courteous and always able to help if you can find them. The 11% rebate always is nice too so you can get more money back for your future purchases especially since they have items like groceries theres always something to buy that you will need.
They generally have most of what you need for working on the home. My only issue is the rebate program. I would rather have cash back, and not be forced to spend it at Menards.
The workers were very helpful
Way too expensive and way too many empty shelves. Waiting for some supplies to arrive from some other planet apparently, taking weeks to get here.
Employee in tools had to go ask manager where tool I wanted was located. One item rang up a dollar more than price listed on shelf tag. After a few minutes of cashier looking up item price and refusing my repeated offer to walk 50 feet to show her price on shelf, I donated a dollar to the got charged too much fund and left.
I found out that they have the cat food I feed my kitties.
They had exactly what I needed at a great price. Plus the 11% off right now was an added bonus.
Cheaper than home Depot on most things. They usually have mail in rebates as well. Not to mention they had mandatory mask wearing still in June while most places have turned a blind eye to customers safety by making masks optional. I will continue to go mostly to Menards for my home improvement needs
Menards has gone out of its way to make a covid-19 free place. I dont mind the wearing of mask. The associates at this store go out of their way to help customers and serve their needs. A wonderful place to shop!
Very helpful staff.
Same store with higher prices throughout.
Had everything I needed
Got exactly what I needed and the staff helped me locate quickly, what I couldnt find.
Good prices and friendly employees.
The women working here are insufferable Karens
Nice place, customer service is on point, and friendly. Keep up the awesome job you are already doing
Love this place! Yes they do still require masks for everyones safety! They are allowing children in, but if they are able to walk, they need to wear a mask unless in the cart or being held. As someone commented below if you do not have a mask, you are more than welcome to purchase one for $0.89. They ask for you to not to leave the line because we cant wait if someone is behind you waiting in line at the register. They wouldve had to void the transaction and then you would have to go to the back of the line to re-scan your items. No they do not know Mr. Menards personally to tell him what news channel to stop watching and to start watching. He doesnt even know I exist. Also being upset about the mask policy doesnt give you the right to touch them. As stayed earlier, you are REQUIRED to wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose (dont leave your nose out because its like not wearing your underwear properly I mean come on) at all times. If a cashier asks you to pull up your mask, just do it or itll cause a big fuss if you dont comply and thatll ruin the employees day. Just comply its not hard and if you dont want to, then you can gladly take your business elsewhere. Also if you do take off your mask in the store, you will be asked to put it back on or asked to leave. Ive only been going here a month and they do have bad days so be patient. They try our best to be! They are people too. It is private property and privately owned so please do remember that! Thanks!
Always ask if I need help loading my vehicle! Employees very polite.
The only thing I can think of that could be better. The return process if you have something that has to go back to the yard. Going in the store, then to the yard, then back in the store is kind of a pain. The in store return process works great.
Menards has everything I am ever looking for!
Quick and easy, how I roll
Like any other menards
A living nightmare. Out of nowhere fire alarms were blaring, employees running, and customers completely stunned and unaware of what to do. After standing there in shock for some time, an employee finally walked up to me and said I could continue to shop because it was an accidental set off of the sprinkler system. I walk through the store only to realize I have no idea how to get back to the front of the store (first time/last time visitor). If there had been a fire, I wouldnt have made it out. Several attempts and minutes later I find the front door I came in. BUT the door I came in cannot be accessed to go out. In fact, there isnt a way to it with a cart. Im finally directed by a rude condescending employee to go around some aisles where a second front door and registers are. The absolute dumbest setup I have ever seen. I pay for my purchases and head out the door where I have to walk through a river of water coming out of the store (a busted water pipe not the sprinkler system) and around a fire truck across the parking lot because why on earth would they want you to park by the door you intend to come out of? So to recap, ridiculous store setup, employees wont alert you of potential death till youre a ball of curled up nerves, park between the two doors (have no idea if carts are at the second door, betting no), and bring bread crumbs. Ill pray for your safe return.
I will choose Menards for two reasons. GREAT Customer service and made in America. Thank you all.
They have always been helpful and knowledgeable whenever I go for things I need for my home.
The employees were helpful and the product was in stock.
Great place for hardware, home improvement and DIY material. Good prices and very helpful employees.
Favorite storeEasy in easy out
The service was great. I found what I was looking for easily with the help of the staff.
Clean store. Bought light bulbs for front porch outside light. Lots of bulbs. Looked for thick woven floor rug but could not find one. Found register with no waiting. Checked out good. Nice cashier.
Maybe some day theyll stop hounding you to wear a mask and Ill be able to go back
The mask thing is out of control the mask order has been lifted but the west Lafayette store is not if your scared of getting covid go to church
Great trip to Menards. Got everything I needed and some groceries too.
Great store until they decided to be communist and make everyone wear a mask
I used to like menards and had no issue, however their Covid-19 rule that doesnt allow people under 16 in the store is very frustrating and upsetting. I have a child under 4 years old and am an only parent. I do not have family here that I can just leave her with. I went to go buy some panelling and did not know the new rules and got turned away at the door. Both, me and my daughter, were wearimg masks. It was suggested I leave my daughter in the car in 80 degree heat. It is unfortunate because it is the closest hardware store to my house and convenient to get groceries as well but I will no longer be supporting this business now or in the future.
Doesnt allow children into the store. Now my wife and I cant look at things together because we have a baby. Im sorry to all of the single moms who are given a hard time by companies like this.
This store is doing an incredible job making a safe environment for staff and customers during the pandemic. Keep up the good work.
Typical box store but Menards tends to get my business over the Megaboxes. Unfortunately, I couldnt find temporary fences there so its off to Amazon for me.
Helpful. Got what we needed. Priced right
Most gardening items were in stock. I was able to find everything
Menards turned off their parking lot lights so people could watch nearby fireworks in their parking lot. 👍to Menards for helping the comunity!
Quality everytime
Love the rebates but it is sometimes hard to find the items that are on sale. They usually have some really good deals on food and drinks... I like shopping here.
Clean, and well organized. The staff are helpful and nice, but most of the times you have to know you to ask for help. Unfortunately and strangely, they always dont have the exact thing that Im looking for! Today, I went there to look for moisture absorbers and I had no idea where to look for them; intuition told me that somewhere near detergents is a good place to begin, and they were exactly there! I was out in 5 minutes with what I was looking for.
Repeated successful projects thanks to the helpful staff at the West Laf Menards. From deftly resetting locks to locating items, or lending a hand lifting heavy objects in the car, its been a pleasure doing business with them over the past year. Super helpful when paired with looking up items on their website to confirm price and availability.
Quick friendly service! There were a lot of employees here today and dispite all the crazy going on in the world, help was not hard to find!
