Never had an issue before when using them for inspections. I cut it close this time around and on November 3rd 2021 I called around 3pm and said “I know it’s late in the day but could you jsnoeft my truck?” And was told “if you get here by 430pm, we can do it we close at 5pm”. I said “I will be there”. I got there at 4:26pm and was told “we’re getting ready to close” I said “but I just called about an hour and a half ago and was told if I for here by 430, you guys could do it”. The guy said “but I’m closing yo for the day”. Hours state they close at 5pm. I then asked “well what time tomorrow are you doing inspections?” I was told “between 9am and 430pm”. Wouldn’t that mean if I get there no later than 430 they would have my business? Now they lost a loyal customer because someone was more concerned with getting out of work early than working as they have advertised.

Had a bad ball joint and had to leave for a trip in two days. Danny not only took me after hours to check it out, but also squeezed me in to get it fixed the very next day so I could get to where I needed to be. Work was fast, done correctly and the price was more than fair. Definitely a reliable mechanic and an honest one.

So I was calling around to get an inspection done on my vehicle. So many people in the city are by appt only or have bad hours. I asked a friend what he thought and he told me that Narragansett Auto was hands down the best place in the city. So I got my inspection done here and he was absolutely right. No appointments needed. They are first come first served. They have great hours and even do inspections on Saturday. To be able to find a shop that does inspections on the weekend is very rare. I got my inspection done on a Thursday around 3 PM and they took me right in. No waiting and it was completely quickly. These guys are not only fast, they are polite and courteous. Best place to go if you need an inspection.

Best mechanic in the state! They know everything....and i mean EVERYTHING there is to know about cars/trucks! Very reasonable! Highly recommend!!

I had a radiator and a alternator put in my car. I dropped it off Wednesday morning at 9am and I pick it up around 4:30-5pm. All the work was done and my car it running beautiful. I have not complaints.

For the past few years now, I have trusted Narragansett Auto Repair with my car (and my wallet). The two people to talk with there are Dan and Donna. Dan is the owner and Ive enjoyed watching him as both the boss and a mechanic and on that rare occasion when he and his employees are stumped with a diagnosis, he is humble enough to turn elsewhere for input. They are all the kind of persons that I want to give me an estimate, to work on my car and to be trusted with telling me when something needs maintenance or needs to be fixed. I highly recommend to anyone that they pay Dan a visit and see for yourself!

I have been going to Narragansett auto for over 10 years at the old location. They moved to this new location and are apparently under new ownership. This place is absolutely horrible. Took my car in for inspection, staff is extremely rude. Guys tells me I need a new windshield wiper or he is gonna fail me. Says its gonna be $15. $15 for a windshield wiper???? He said other than that the car passes and Ill be all set. Rather than drive to the store, put the wiper on and come back, I said fine Ill pay it. They put the wiper on then say, oh sorry you actually failed the emissions. So much for being all set besides the wiperWhat a rip off joint. Stay far far away from this place.DO NOT take your vehicle here for any reason.

A co-worker referred me to Danny at Narragansett Auto Repair. I’d recently bought a 1996 Sunfire 5-speed with 86k miles, and the car was intermittently chugging/bucking and stalling. I’d spent over $800 at another mechanic on a tune-up and repairs that didn’t solve the problem, and then the shift linkage broke and the car wouldn’t go into reverse or 5th. Danny provided an accurate and honest evaluation of the car’s condition and performed affordable repairs, including fixing the shift linkage (for which he fabricated new retainers), cleaning the throttle body and idle valve, and setting the minimum idle. After driving the car for two weeks, I’m confident that the repairs were 100% successful. I strongly recommend Narragansett Auto Repair for high quality, affordable auto repair. I also recently took my 2004 Accord there for an inspection, and I was pleased with the ease and efficiency of the process.
