Every time I go to Westlake Independent, I am amazed at the level of service, honesty, and thoroughness with which they do their work. I have had major and minor work done over many years. There is always an explanation and report with photos, highlighting the necessary fixes. Its a great team!

Extremely high quality service. These guys are very nice and they provide great repairs. My AC was broken in the middle of July in the Calabasas heat (and I have a black leather interior). I was tight for money and they helped me out and they were very patient with me. They never tried to upsell me and were very honest and up front with me. My AC works fantastic now - I never have to deal with a hot car very long.

Hondas are great cars to begin with, but they keep them running like new. My 97 CRV had over 250K miles on it when I gave it to my grandson...it looked and ran like a new car !

Ive been going to Bruce (and his team) at Westlake Independent Automotive for over 20 years. His shop is AAA approved, has trained mechanics and is an honest shop. He has always suggested to me and my family to get the best and most reliable used car (inspected them before I bought them and told me which were good or not) and had them serviced at the proper times. His service has saved me thousands of dollars over the years. They always know what they are doing and willing to work with you. They also have rental cars for you to drive home while you car is worked on. Thank you again Bruce and everyone for all your help.

Nice enough people - - but some Automotive maladies are intermittent and to repair most of those problems, the car needs to DEMONSTRATE that particular issue or problem before Mechanics can solve it. My Subaru sat around for ten business days - merely waiting (repeatedly) to show its problem to these mechanics. They looked & checked again. But never were lucky enough to see my issue repeated while the car was on their premises. Regardless of this frustration (obviously not Mechanics fault) I was not charged at all for their efforts to duplicate this problem.What else can we ask for?

Bruce and his staff maintain both of my Hondas. My Accord is always dependable and runs great with 180,000 miles. My Civic is the same, with 328,000 miles on it, and they are the only ones who ever work on it.... their pricing is reasonable and very accommodating..... :-)

A thorough top-to-bottom inspection found lots of little things that got neglected over the years. Recommend highly and without reservation.

What everyone needs, and few have, is an auto repair/maintenance shop where they feel they can trust every word they are told. We have been with Westlake Independent ever since we moved to the area 15 years ago, and have complete confidence in the integrity and expertise of Bruce and his team. I had to take a couple of the cars to the dealer for recall notices, and was complimented by the service guy on how well our vehicles had been maintained. As always Westlake Independent provides honest reliable work that they stand behind. Their advice is never targeted to up-sell you unnecessary service. Im 78 years old and its so I take it as a real plus that they take covid-19 precautions seriously. Its not window dressing for them. Many years ago I had an old Honda that failed to start intermittently. They said they could not reproduce the problem but replaced a part that they suspected was the culprit. They said if it works then you can pay us. If it doesnt work bring the car back well reinstall your old part and start over. It worked. Over they years Ive recommended Westlake Independent to anyone who would listen. Since they now handle Subarus, Toyotas, Acuras as well as Hondas I think its the great place for auto repair for owners of those vehicles in the Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Westlake, Thousand Oaks area.

Great! Reasonable price for a new battery, according to my shopping around. When my parking brake was too tight, I brought it back and you adjusted it on the spot, in about 10 minutes. And you washed my car after working on it!

Ive been taking my 2007 Odyssey to these guys since I bought it new. They have always kept my car safe and in excellent condition. I live 450 miles away, but always save my car care for my trips to Westlake. I dont trust anybody else with my car! When I am home, and a problem arises, I call Westlake Independent, and they cheerfully help me figure out what I need to do, even if I wont be able to get my car to them for them to do the work on it. They always go above and beyond what I would expect a car care business to do, honoring warranties, charging reasonable prices, and doing excellent work the first time.

Brought our car here for service as I was looking for a local independent automobile repair shop having just moved to the area and am not a big fan of going to the dealership. These guys are terrific! They first inspect your vehicle then send you an emailed report with photos indicating what may or not be needed to be repaired or replaced. Then Norman called me to go over those items with me and made recommendations on the service. My service was done in about 4 hours and they even provide you with a ride to anywhere nearby. They even picked me up once my car was ready. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Stellar concierge service! My car was treated perfectly. In addition to the regular service they found a surprise rats nest which was all cleared away and cleaned up (and chewed up filters replaced), and a lovely car wash and sanitization! Paid for over the phone. No possibility for exposure to germs! Thanks for doing an amazing job!

Norman got us in last minute, after explaining everything he thought it might be a quick fix and he was right, I was on the road in a bout 15min. For years a friend of mine kept telling me that Westlake Independent was a great outfit. As my car became older, I did need service and gave them a try versus the dealer. I have never seen a shop like this; they give you a printable report with color pictures describing what they find as they service your vehicle. You can choose to do the repairs or not, as you discuss the items with your service advisor. They do the work well, at a good price (AAA discounts), and on time; they will take you home and pick you back up, which became important when we became a one-car family. I showed the full color reports to my brother-in-law, and he said, I cant even get my mechanic to speak English! -glen

The staff at Westlake Independent have always been courteous and they call first to advise and ask permission before any extra work is done if it is needed. They are patient in answering questions and their drivers are nice. I have been ripped off before by other auto places including dealerships. Have been going to Westlake Independent probably since when they opened. They do all the work on my 82 Civic wagon (not many of those on the road today) and keep me traveling. Bruce and Craig are always up front with costs, call with any changes or additions after looking the car over before doing any additional work, and Auto Club members get even better deals on work. They also treat my sons 91 Accord with the same quality service. They are the best, and I would highly recommend them to anyone with a Honda.

I have been a customer at Westlake Independent for many years and I have enjoyed consistent excellent service. However, the most amazing thing was when I called from Idaho on my way to Yellowstone because my transmission seemed rough and one of the Honda managers talked to a garage service person in Idaho through checks on the transmission. When my cell phone became functional after I leftYellowstone I discovered the Honda Independent manager had called seventeen times trying to find out if I were okay!

Amazing! I had a problem with my car door and the local Honda dealer quoted me $350 to fix it. A friend recommended Westlake Independent and I decided to give it a try. Chad Hitch checked me in and handed me an estimate of $141. Needless to say, I was already impressed at what I was about to save. I waited for about an hour and a half and when I was called up to the front counter, my bill came to $11.51. Really? When do these things ever happen??? I will be a loyal customer based on this experience! I have been taken advantage of on several different occasions, especially with my car so this was a pleasant surprise!! I was very happy taking my Honda Pilot to Westlake Independent. I arrived without an appointment but they still took my car in for repair, which they completed the same day. The costs for my repairs was at least $500 less than the shop I had been going to in Camarillo quoted. Now I dont plan on taking my Pilot anywhere else for service.

As usual - I took my car to Westlake Independent Honda/Acura this morning. Checking in my car for an oil change and scheduled maintenance was quick and easy. I always provide my Auto Club card to get a discount. I was given a ride home so I could get on with my day and knew I could call to get picked up when my car was ready. My car was serviced promptly and when I picked it up, it had been washed too! I am grateful to have a mechanic I can trust. As our old cars wore out, we replaced them with Honda vehicles, specifically because we know we will receive excellent maintenance care here.

Westlake Independent really does an oustanding job. I have gone there for many years. Six Hondas later I have never had a car strand me or a single problem with their service. They provide any and all information I ask for. I drive 47 miles each way to have them service my familys three Hondas. You have to remember that once you buy a car it is all about Service and having a service center that can do excellent service and can be trusted is probably more important than anything else. I can not say enough about their company.

Weve been going here for years. Theyre a trusted name among family and friends and I look forward to their continued success. I only got in one argument with them about some work I thought was done to my car, but it was my wifes car that had the work done. Egg on my face. The only downside is they only work on Hondas and Acuras, so they wont be for everyone.
