A very nice hardware store. They have a very nice assortment of items, well displayed, and well priced for a local hardware store in the likes of a Westport-type town. Its a very nice store. One thing they should change though, is to take down that big realtor sign in the front window, who apparently is or was someones cousin or something. We called him once, because he had the stores endorsement, and he was not nice, not at all actually. it is not appropriate to have a giant sign for him in the front window, nor for his firm - which is really a cabal of slick-talking sharpers.

Great store. Great family. i’ve known them for 30 years.As it is your prerogative not to wear a mask, a business has every right to ask you to wear one to protect their employees. With Delta spiking, I don’t know where you’re going to shop. I read today Home Depot has gone back to requiring all to wear a mask. You’ll probably have to go to Texas or Florida to shop.

Rude employees who lack basic customer and interpersonal skills. In addition to mandating masks in the summer of 2021, when virtually all other businesses dont require, youll get a lecture about why you dont know anything about covid. Its a family run business so dont waste your time complaining.

Westport Hardware has consistently provided excellent and knowledge customer service. They are working so hard during this pandemic and still are providing excellent customer service. They take all necessary precautions to protect their customers. Westport is lucky to have this gem!

Westport Hardware has become my new go to since the pandemic. I wanted to support local businesses so I reached out to them to purchase a grill for my mother who is quarantining at home. They provided a fair price. They delivered and installed the grill in a safe way the very next day. Since then I have called them for several other curbside pick-up items. They have continued to be fast, knowledgeable and friendly. They even advised me to call the manufacturer for a part covered under warranty when they could have just sold me the part. I will continue to shop at Westport Hardware.

I want to say thank you to the only local hardware store our beloved town has left. Their customer service has always been on of a kind. Not only did they manage to find a safe way to stay open with curb side assistance during the uncertainty of things, but still were able to provide us with the best quality customer service. When facing challenges of low stock or shipment delays, they still found the time to reach out to us when those items came back in stock. It disappoints me to see negative reviews from those who are simply upset and freely throwing around a word that they have no right using when it comes down to the simplicity of their store policies. To know the every day challenges a local business already faces, now through a pandemic when they have the stresses of opening their door and being attacked for simply looking out for not just their loved ones but us, their customers, is very disturbing to me. Any store requesting for me to wear a mask while in their fucility only shows to me once again the respect and dedication they have for my family and their employees. Lets be real people, none of us finds these new challenging days to be ideal. You should be more concern about the places not requesting and implementing certain policies before attacking sales associates for doing their jobs. I can complain about my mask all day, but youll still find me wearing it if I choose to enter a store for service of any kind. I’m new to town and tried to call twice to see if they had the item I want, and was briskly put on hold - not asked, TOLD - twice. Several minutes went by and I realized no one was coming back on the line. I don’t care how busy you are, you can take the time to greet customers on the phone and find out what they want. Seriously rude customer service. Going to Home Depot then.

The best hardware store in town!!!

Great selection and incredible service. Needed a replacement knob for an old storm door that they didn’t carry (nor did any of the big box stores, which they checked for me). In about 5 minutes, they were able to find a manufacturer in NJ that made replica hardware for old doors. They emailed the links to me and I had exactly what I needed in a matter of days.

I can’t believe a place like this still exists... friendly, helpful, curious and willing to take the time to help you solve a problem instead on sending you off on a scavenger hunt to some obscure place navigating the stores maze, where you then have to catch a tram to another portion of the store, where you finally get to where you want to be but there is no one but crickets there; or if there is a person there to help, you are better off giving up and catching the next flight back to you car. So yea, this place is great!

They dont have a zillion of each item, but they have enough. Had stock of something even Home Depot didnt have, and at a better price no less. Great place to get keys made. I always like to check with the local stores like this one before I go with the big chain. You just might be surprised!

A wonderful advice! The owner - the old man looked like the owner - immediately offered us a consultancy. So friendly, experienced, humorous and yet clearly explained, I was never advised before. Well keep you forever. Unfortunately, there arent those stores (anymore) in Germany.

This is truly the kind of hardware store you knew as a child, full of help and kindness! My husband went down to Westport Hardware store, knowing they would be closing in a few minutes, to get some nails to send off a big hardwood crate full of artwork. They got him just what he needed, but when he got home, we realized hed forgotten the top of the crate hed brought in to show them. Sinking feelings. Ken went to drive back, but we knew it was 15 min. after the store closed. Then the phone rang, Elda, wife of the owner Richard, figured out a way to find out phone number from the credit card, and they would wait for Ken to come! Is that FABULOUS hometown service? Yes, yes, yes.

I walked in. Asked for a specific item and presto, the young man pulled 6 from the shelf. In and out in 8 minutes. No Home Depot for me. Buy local.
