Great spot for lunch. Back open. Everything homemade. Lots of specials. Very friendly. Had the Reiben and couldnt be more pleased.
The cinnamon roll apple fritter French toast is to die for its Mt all time favorite. I love the food its always fresh and always good.
Super quiet place. Retro look good people good staff..
Great service. Food was delicious
So glad the reopened missed there food limited menu but all was yummy hope they get weenend hours added in soon
Great food made by loving hands at a affordable price.
Classic clean little diner with great food.
Decent food, mostly comfort food. We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant, so we got a very dedicated waitress. I tried the Loco Moco, (see pictures) which wasnt bad at all. Very colorful, very beefy. A little over salted for my tastes but I dont salt my food much. The meat lovers omlette was very generously proportioned. Id rate the food by itself about 4 stars, mostly due to the portioning and the creative specials. What really stood out for me that brought it to five stars was the very helpful waitress. My wife had a problem with a swollen ring finger, so the waitress offered a cold compress. She offered to help as much as possible, very prompt on the coffee and water.Altogether, if you support local non branch businesses, this one is decent for the price.Loco Moco - 9.99Meat lovers - 12.99
We came to this place for lunch. we heard about this place from a lot of people. Well, it was very successful. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The meal was fresh and delicious. We loved this spot a lot and we shall absolutely come back again. Recommended.
Just had the country fried chicken, perfectly crisp on the outside and moist inside. The sausage gravy was delicious as were the smashed potatoes. The staff was also super friendly and upbeat. Very homey atmosphere. Very pleased with the experience
Well this was a big surprise. Ive passed by several times but never went in. It was everything you would want a diner to be. Clean, great service, and a wonderful wide selection you would expect in a diner. I would definitely write this highly and expect I will be there again soon.
This is hands down one of my favorite breakfast spots in Wethersfield. The counter staff are always very attentive and friendly, and same for the waist who work the dining room (however I prefer to eat at the counter). The food always comes out hot and cooked to perfection. They do a great job on breakfast and lunch, but I usually stick with breakfast hash when I go - the kielbasa is my favorite!
This place was amazing!! Found it by chance, great breakfast and coffee!! Friendly staff, great service and nice “old time “ diner. Will definitely be back. Stop by when you are in the area, right off of I91
I was very disappointed. My husband and I stopped in for the 1st time . Servers and cashier were very friendly. We ordered our food . We then realized the woman in the kitchen was extremely loud she was yelling at someone about chicken sausage and pulling too much food. Another customer told the server how they did not like hearing her yell...They asked to speak with the owner..she told them to come talk to her in the kitchen cause she was cooking..she then yelled at the customer told her she did not know what was going on and should mind her own business. At that point my husband and I got up and left. It is disgusting how rude she was and treated her employees and customers. I will never try this place again. People deserve to be treated better. I challenge all her employees to find another job. You deserve to be treated better.
We stopped in at the Wethersfield Diner for breakfast, after picking my son up at his home in Rocky Hill, before heading up to New Hampshire. It was the first time for us all eating breakfast here. My son and I both opted for our favorite breakfast dish; biscuits and sausage gravy. It was also served with two eggs, any style, and potatoes.I must say that this dish compared very favorably with the same offering at my sons other local favorite diner in Rocky Hill. Both are very good! I had scrambled eggs wth mine. They were light and fluffy. My sister opted for the daily special, (that was more expensive on weekends. Whats THAT about?). It consisted of 2 eggs, any style, smashed potatoes (their name for home fries), and toast. WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THAT?We all agreed that the place we usually stop at in Rocky Hill offers an overall better breakfast, so we likely wont be stopping in here again. Thats no reflection on our experience, just a case of proximity and personal preferences.
I love Amy. She is such a wonderful person and waitress. The food is fresh and delicious. Great portions. Affordable.
Not the same anymore. The food is not consistent. The deserts taste like everything else that is stored with it and my biggest issue is the customer service. God forbid if you ask for something to be re cooked. Dont even get me started on the streaming comming from the kitchen. Kids in the restaurant was clearly disturbed by the screaming match going on in the back
We especially love to go to the diner for breakfast. Always greeted with a smile and warm welcome from all the staff. It is a nice place for families and friends to start their day with great tasting food and lots of it. A variety of items to choose. Coffee is also very good.
Good food, not crowded during the week. Got to meet the owner, Stacey. No frills but a good meal just like a diner should be!
The food is great and the portions are awesome for the price! The service is always friendly and it feels like they genuinely care if you are satisfied with everything.
This diner has really improved in the last few years, I am quite impressed with the place. The menu has a good variety without being overwhelming. I ordered the bacon hash eggs benedict, it was great! The portions are enormous! The waitress was attentive and friendly! I will definitely be returning with my family.P.S. Theres a localflavor for 50% off $20
Cool little place with very friendly staff. A little gem on the Silas Deane highway. They have such an amazing breakfast.
Love this place. Quaint old diner feel, friendly staff. What I really like is how out of place it seems with all the development around it. Its really characteristic of a better time when the pace of life was slower and more thoughtful. The smashed potatoes is my new favorite food (mashed potatoes that have been seasoned and grilled to perfection)! You have to have them.
Diner food served with a touch of Polish goodness. I recommend the polish breakfast with stuffed cabbage (I dont know the polish spelling). I do know good food. Excellent value and I am looking forward to the Perogis on my next visit.
Nice family feel!! amazing potatoes!! famous for them I see why now. worth going for a side of them.
Well, the food was good. Fair portions for a fair price. No complaints about that, and why I give you 3 stars.I subtract the other stars because you made me wait for over an hour for a basic breakfast. The restaurant was steady, not busy. You only have one server though? The owner and the kitchen scream at each other and it resonates throughout the restaurant. The server verbally complains to you about her boss. And I had to approach the server about refilling my coffee, EVERY TIME I needed a refill. I use to be a server, I understand. But an hour for scrambled eggs and bacon? Re-damn-diculous.
Went early on a Sunday. Service was fast and good was good. The omelet with veggies was awesome, especially with the caramelized onions.
Its a shame because the food and service were great but the screaming voice of the chef in the back made the whole meal uncomfortable. The screaming was completely unnecessary for such a small diner and was very inappropriate, I highly reccomend either putting doors on the kitchen to muffle the noise or speaking with this woman about professionalism in the workplace.
Great old fashioned diner. Plenty of good food and nice people
Their smashed potatoes are amazing. Quite possibly the tastiest taters Ive had in a while. Eggs Benedict=delicious. Service is lovely also.
Will not be back. Was sad I went.Owner/ cook yelled out of the kitchen the entire time I waited for my Bacon egg and cheese sandwich with smashed potatoes. She yelled at her help, the waitstaff, complained loudly the entire time, and I was waiting for her to yell at me. Very stressful sitting there in this little establishment with shouting bouncing off the walls. My sandwich was delivered by a nice lady. The eggs ( I ordered over -medium) came over-hard (I hate over hard) bacon rubbery and the potatoes were not smashed but just potatoes. I asked to have the egg fixed. It came out over easy with uncooked very smashed unseasoned potatoes. Do not visit here if you do not want a headache.
Horrible customer service. Today at 11:10 a.m, we ordered French toast, eggs, hash smash. We waited over 45 minutes and was not served. The waitress did not communicate with us or follow up on our order. We watched other customers that arrived after us and got served. Also waitress kindly communicated/follow up with them. We believed that we were ignored and they are being selective which customers to cater to/communicate with. As we started to walk out, waitress finally said something about our order. Waitress claimed that French toast takes awhile. They had plenty of chances to communicate with us while we waited over 45 minutes. Highly disappointed since we are residents in Wethersfield. We were excited to try this spot by our home but instead pretty much get a horrible service.
Very good diner. Good food quality and prices. Nice service too. Classic diner atmosphere
Great variety of tasty food and specials. Service is very good with friendly staff. Enjoy!
My wife and I used to love coming to the diner until last week when we came in for breakfast. The waitress gave us the menus and told us she would be back in a moment with our beverages. A gentleman came in about 5-6 minutes later and sits at the counter. She comes out of the kitchen and quickly assists him without a menu. My guess is he already knew what he wanted. She takes his order, goes into the kitchen, comes out and serves him coffee. Meanwhile, were still waiting for our drinks. She finally brings them out. Now she took our orders. After 15 minutes go by, she comes out with the man who is at the counter with his order. The diner wasnt really too busy,so why are we still waiting? She steps back in the kitchen and comes out with a few meals in her hands. We assumed two of them were ours but were not. She goes back behind the counter again still ignoring us. The least she could have done was give us a refill on the coffee and tell us it should be any minute for our order. She didnt! After 5 more minutes go by, my wife and I decide to leave. Once we got up, she then tells us its coming out. We said keep it. I had to get back to work and could not keep waiting. Dont get me wrong, weve had good service in the past from the other waitresses, but not the case last week. The food is good, but I think they should offer dill pickles. Sweet pickles are good, but more people prefer dill. To prove my point, most restaurants use dill...Hopefully this can be looked into and not have this happen to anybody else.
Was going to give them a great rating last week then this happened...food is fantastic been going with my sis the past month every Friday. But today the waitress drove us away. We had some personal and family issues to talk about so we sat away from people. The waitress made a loud complaint about us doing that and complained to other customers. She was so rude came up to us and “said what do you want” We left before she even gave us the water we ordered. I’ve never been so insulted because the customers were giving us dirty looks to.
Very nice and simply place. Staff is friendly and food is affordably priced. One of my favorite places to go on the weekends after church. Small place and everyone knows each other.
Awesome staff and place!!! So friendly and not just is family owned and run they treat you like family as well. Great diner to come and chet chat. Love it!
This place is amazing. I was scared to come here with all the bad reviews, but this place blew my expectations out of the water. The service is AMAZING. So nice and friendly! The food is delicious!!! Wayyyyy better than most diners that Ive ever been to! You should deff try this place out!!! Ill be coming back
Standard, clean, and tasty diner fare. Very reasonable prices (~$5 for breakfast special before 10am on weekdays) and the whole meal took less than 20 minutes. I had the Wethersfield Omelette (onions, red peppers, swiss cheese, chives + bacon) and it was great. If youre looking for a diner in the area, seems hard to beat.
Delicious comfort food, friendly staff, great pricing. They dont skimp on portion size! You certainly get your moneys worth. Only open a few nights for dinner, but their dinners are fantastic!!
I need some bacon on a hard roll egg and bacon cheese they put two eggs on their the bacon was perfectly. It was just a really good sandwich
I do not recommend and why:They come across as a gourmet restaurant and serve half a meal.I ordered an open roast beef sandwich, and when it came out it was one slice of bread possibly two slices of roast beef Deli end 4 oz of mashed potatoes and I could probably count the string beans they put on my plate.
Great staff nicely decorated and great food I loved it...
Friendly staff, quick service. I usually call in my breakfast order and its always ready quickly, and correctly!
I love this place!! The bacon hash is out of this world! The staff is great. Im definitely a regular!
Good food, including some Polish dishes like pierogi and cabbage soup. The Waitresses are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable.
Food, service and Price are excellent
The food was absolutely great. The waitress - terrible. I had the polish breakfast and absolutely loved it.There are obviously regulars which the waitresses have created friendships with, so rather than catering to everyone they have obnoxious conversations across the room. One waitress kept shouting yeah buddy the whole time making it hard to have a conversation with the person I was with. On top of that the waitress complained about a whole range of things that was going wrong in her life. Within the time it was there I found out rent was due, she had a headache, she fell over the night before, she hadnt had a break and had too many customers, she was having a hot flush, she cut her hair while drunk and a whole range of other negative issues in her life. It was very hard to enjoy our breakfast without constant interruption, negativity or shouting from the waitress.Lastly, lets hope you dont drop a piece of silverware on the ground bc the waitress will kick and scrape them all the way to the back rather than bending over and picking them up.Doubt Ill go here again.
Good prices, great food, fast service. Smashed potatoes a big hit with kids. Western omelet was awesome.
Quick service and the food was good. The pancakes were thick and the family rqved about the smashed potatoes. Great find!
I can not believe the kind of poor service I received at this place. From the moment I walked in the waitress was rude. I will never go there again.
Worst omelette Ive ever had...overcooked, I asked for extra cheese and only got two slices, and it cost me $12! Ill stick with their grilled cheese that is delicious.
Food is pretty good but the service is very very slow!
This is a good diner with all the requisite diner fare plus some Polish dishes. . Friendly staff, affordable.
Food was excellent there are so many homemade meals
Nice and comfortable seating and very generous staff. Will recommend to family and friends.
Great mom and pops place.i go here for breakfast. Great place to start your morning.
Best breakfast! Everything is made from scratch!
For those who have bad reviews of this place, i suggest you give it another try. I came by despite seeing some negative reviews and to be honest it has excellent service and the food was very good.
The food was excellent their fries the Turkey it was really nice
Under the original owners this place was great. It was a bit of a dive, but it had character. Now, this place is horrible. Ive tried the food and its mediocre. The coffee is HORRIBLE. The service, also horrible. I went in once and had breakfast. I didnt love it but attributed it to the place being brand new. As a result I decided to go back a second time. I went in alone, was seated, given a menu, and never spoken to again. Eventually I just got up and walked out. I told the team of the at the register what happened and they couldnt care less. My comments fell of deaf ears. Will not be going back and I do not recommend this place. Go to NY Pickle Deli in Rocky Hill or Kens in Glastonbury instead.
We always enjoy our visits to the Diner. It was especially entertaining as 3 students from Kinsella Magnent were filming a school project. They were great and so was our meal!!
Great eggs Benedict. clean and cool inside ..good fast service... waitress Stacey has a habit of talking way to loud across the place..just annoying loud voice .
Food is good. Service is pretty fast.
Walked out. I ordered a breakfast burrito. Took one bite and got a mouth full of sour spoiled food. Almost made me gag. I told the owner and she proceeded to feel like I did something wrong. That I should have told the waitress so she can make me another meal. I didn’t want more food. If it was bad the first time the second time won’t be any better. There was still spoiled food in there kitchen. Do I went to the main source. The owner. Hopefully she takes ownership of it. I will never go back there again.
Plentiful comfort food. Tasty and service was good and friendly.
Wasnt a fan of the old Wethersfield diner and Im not a fan of the new one. Food was lukewarm and not the great for the prices. Wouldnt even think of coming back.
Went here for Fathers day breakfast. The food was amazing and the staff was great.
Home cooked meal and very friendly people working there!!!!
Food was great and the people were very nice!
Amazing food and exemplary customer service.
Food was delicious and freshly made. Will definitely come back here!
Great food, fast service and the corn beef hash was the greatest
Terrible! Ruined a good thing when it was sold. The people dont know the first thing about running a restaurant. Terrible service and poor menu. Zero stars.
Good service, food was good, very good coffee
I ordered the Irish Benedict and it was spectacular.
I absolutely love this place. From the smashed potatoes to the awesome People! Love it!!
Excellent diner! Great food, great location and very welcoming staff.
The location is very convenient to my workplace and this was my first time here. The staff were very friendly but i was not impressed with the cornbeef hash, it was missing some flavor and was slightly bland. Everything else was ok. I am going to go back and try something different and see if it was just a one time thing.
The Polish food was wonderful. Well most certainly be back.
Awesome hospitality😀 food was so good! Was here with the best man too!💋
Great food in a nice price !nice staff
Pretty good place. Food is great, service is typical for a diner, same with prices
Classic diner fare with fresh twists. Fast, friendly and filling.
Middle of the road food at best, burnt meat and bread at worst. Would be one of my last choices even if I was starving and had little other choice.
Friendly, clean diner. You will be happy if you appreciate diner food.
Horrible service and ok food. Theirmenu paper are a dirty old document protector.
Breakfast foods good and prices fair
Was delicious...best breakfast ever!
Love coming here! The smashed potatoes are so good, and Amy is an awesome waitress!
