I love coming to this lumber yard. The guys are really cool and help you out and the prices are good too! They have a huge selection of wood. They do not disappoint.

Best selection in the area by far. They also don’t bother you; you can pick through their stock and select exactly what you need. Their prices are great, and the staff is very helpful. Been taking the 40 minute drive over there for years, because it’s worth it.

The rudeness and laziness of the yard staff would be funny if it wasn’t such a waste of time. “It’s self-service only”. Took my money elsewhere.The world is moving away from this kind of nonsense and when customers walk away, you’ll have brought it on yourselves.

Excellent selection of hardwoods, including exotic lumber. Cut my boards to length and jointed a face and an edge for me. Didnt seem overpriced. Was happy to find a place like this in this area, i just wish i had discovered them sooner!

Woodworkers paradise. Woods of all sorts from ash to zebra wood (no kidding). Picked up some purple heart and black walnut today.

I found them online. I live in White Plains so it was great finding a local lumber yard to work with. Im a hobbyist and know what I should know about wood as a material to work with. I do need to add that I did have schooling on woodwork so Im definitely not a pro but I can handle a saw. I walked into the office, said hello and asked for some help. One of the women in the office asked what I was looking for and pointed me in the direction for my visit. I was lost at first not because she sent me in the wrong direction but finding I could go in five directions to search what I was looking for. I took my time at first to get oriented to the place but once I figured it out, I was like a kid in a candy store.I found a piece of wood, paid for it, had it planed and squared in just a few minutes.I had very narrow tolerance of thickness for a shelf I was building and purchased it at 13/16 thick. I brought it home to see if my measurement was correct but it was too thick. I brought it back the next day and asked if they could plane it down to 11/16 thick and of course they said, no problem.I had a great experience at Condon Co. and look forward to going back with my summer projects.

It looks like the stormville and white plains locations are very different. couldn’t be nicer i’m the phone at white plains location. i email them ( i have the email of one of the salesman) let him know my order and then go pick it up. efficient and flawless.

What a great pleasure to walk around this century old business. Makes me happy just to look around and see all the wood carefully stacked and ordered.The service is great too. For all the work and pain I cause these guys, the price is more than reasonable.Love it.

I am a woman. And when I asked a question about locating quarter sawn woods, I was spoken to like I was a know nothing idiot. Question was not listened to. I definitely don’t need to spend my money somewhere where I’m going to get over looked and under estimated.

I’ve never had a problem with customer service! The ladies upstairs are just doing their job! The guys downstairs ALWAYS help once they’re available. Can not complain one bit.

Do not call the Stormville location. The woman who answers the phone sounds miserable and you will not get any help what so ever. You are truly bothering her with your call or inquiry and basically will be redirected to the White Plains location. Do yourself a favor and just call White Plains, they are helpful and knowledgeable.

A lovely experience every time I visit. One of the few lumber suppliers that have live edge slabs, very helpful and accommodating staff.

This place offers top notch milling services and very competitive pricing on their large stock of wood species. Unfortunately the phone receptionist is utterly miserable and unwilling to be very helpful. The lack of information she was willing to provide me caused my order to be very inefficient and unnecessarily expensive.

Navigating the office and yard in White Plains was a bit complicated at first, but once I explained what I wanted, the yard guys were great in helping me select the exact pieces of teak and then finishing it for me. Tremendous selection of exotic and familiar wood.

Good prices and great variety of wood, but customer service is an absolute nightmare. Nobody helped us to load big pieces on the van, the guys just seated to watch while I load. Even an old person that was with me in the car had to get out to help.People upstairs that seems to be annoyed all time, as if the customer presence bothers them.

After checking the reviews I agree 100% with the statements about the woman answering sounding miserable. Like I was bothering her. Her responses were also with an attitude like I should already know the answers. She was so bad with the way she spoke that it completely turned me away from even visiting the store and definitely kept me from wanting to do business with them.

Dont bother calling their Dutchess location. The woman answering has to be the most miserable person I have ever spoken to and has a lot to learn about customer service. How do you tell a potential customer to, bring your patience when visiting us and expect to wait a long time for service?

Not for the faint of heart. Rude office people. Ive been going here for 10 years and still get treated like a stranger. Yard guys are ok. Selection is good but ive called ahead for a product and shown up and they dont have it. Then they act like i dont know what im talking about. Someone should tell the office people their clients are primarily pros and not to treat us like home depot weekend warriors. I go here reluctantly. Im also not much for writing bad reviews but my last 2 1/2 hour round trip really upset me. Ghent lumber is great but far upstate.

You will be amazed at what you can find here. I never thought I would call pieces of wood beautiful.

Terrible customer service on the phone. Im a contractor and will never even attempt to buy from here again. The woman who answered the phone not only mocked me, but was extremely unhelpful and rude. Go to Ghent or page for your lumber needs.
