If i could do 0 stars I would. I “donated” 99% of my stuff that I was hoping to sell. I only got $8 from a huge black trash bag full of clothes, shoes, and accessories from the mall. I paid almost $100 for 2 dresses a piece and because it wasn’t Coach and things like that “it’s not worth their money to buy it from me” I had to give pretty much everything as a donation. Screw you all, you’ve lost my business forever🤬🖕

Very cute and stylish clothes but the prices are too high for used clothing. You can get a better deal buying straight from clearance racks at the mall. They are very organized and polite but I don’t shop there anymore because they are too expensive for a second hand store.

Just love the quality and selection of clothing at Uptown. So glad I found this place! The organization of the mass amount of clothing is exceptional! Color coded, AND in order from tanks to long-sleeve. Dresses are in their own area. Pants/jeans are grouped by number size AND inch size... its so convenient to thumb through. Thanks ladies!

The staff here is exceptional!! They accommodated this mom with her baby and never once made me feel like a nuisance! {And that can be rare with younger staff members.} The store is so clean and very well organized! Management should be very proud of the stores presentation and its staff members! 👏🏼

This is the first negative review Ive ever left. I used to LOVE Uptown; until February 4. My family comes down all the way from Kansas City every few months to support me in the midst of a difficult legal battle. And every single time, we make sure to stop by Uptown to have some girl time and relax.On February 4th, we had stopped by the way we do every couple months. Our trip started out well enough, my sister and I had found some cute outfits and we were trying to help our mom find some cute clothes as well. Around here was when we noticed the same associate had been next to us in every section of the store so far.We made our way to the front of the store to try on some clothes and we had stopped to look at some tops near the chairs when an associate came up to use and said, Ill go ahead and take those for you. If you want to try them on, you can ask up at the counter. She then grabbed them out of both mine and my sisters hands. This service was not offered to anyone else in the store.We tried on a few outfits but our trip was ruined. Whatever we were planning on spending wasnt worth how the employees at Uptown made us feel. My sister bought one dress that she needed for an event and we left. By the time we got to the car, my sister was in tears. My mom went back to talk to the manager and when I saw them step outside, I went to join. We got the generic Oh, its just store policy non apology.Uptown has gone from being my favorite clothing boutique to being a store that I will never shop at again. I refuse to shop at a store that makes its customers feel the way we did.

Nice place to shop but they don’t pay much for name brand clothing items you are selling. Try selling online for a a fair price.

I went for the first time last week and I was really impressed with how much I made the employees all was very welcoming and i didnt have a long wait Ill definitely be shopping there sometime soon and definitely taking some of my cloths there to sale again .

Uptown Cheapskate is not your normal thrift store. They are friendly and they help you when ever you need it. There is also a lot of brand new things there too which is awesome!! There is also brands like Lulu Lemon and Gym Shark! I enjoyed my experience and I can’t wait to go back!!

The prices are very fair and the employees were extremely helpful. All of the clothing is arranged neatly and the store is easy to navigate.

I have never been to Uptown Cheapskate. My wife and I began to see your commercial and thought it was cute. But now its been several weeks and every commercial break its the same commercial. AHHHHH! Its like hearing the same song all day long. Hit the mute button, honey, its that commercial again.

I absolutely love this place! Everything you’re looking for and all in one spot from athletic wear to business casual, even Coachella and beyond, plus ACCESSORIES!! Can’t beat that!The staff members are always super accommodating too! One day I tried on like 25 different things and the sweetheart assisting me gave me her honest opinion about each item which was a tremendous help and a lot of fun!! I could literally walk out of there with 15 “new to me” items and only spend $100! How awesome is that?!!!!Thanks, Uptown! :)

I love this place all of their items look brand new no one believes me when they ask where I got the outfit Im wearing when I tell them it came from uptown. The only jeans that fit me right cost at least 130.00 .not to mention the few stores that carry this brand usually dont carry my small size .I would have to order my jeans without trying them on . Which I hate buying clothes online. I love uptown always has my size brand and style and the most I pay is 35.00 . Besides the staff their are beyond helpful and make you feel welcomed every time. I love the uptown girls.

My husband and I were discriminated against for our religious beliefs and the way that we dress. The employee at the door was very rude to us and we left. Will not shop here again until this is made right.

I’ve shopped at Uptown for years and years and will continue to do so. Love the selection, the prices, the atmosphere, etc. I almost always have at least one or two of my children with me (including a baby either in a stroller or a baby wrap) and the Uptown girls are always so kind in providing me with the bigger fitting room, holding the door open for me, etc!

The girls working there are always sweet and I love that they give you Try me! outfits inside the dressing rooms - they create the cutest outfits for you. These guys are the best. They always have something Im looking for, and have a high rotation of clothes/shoes/jewelry etc... Ive never had a negative experience with them (discovered them over 3 years ago); they are always kind, helpful and enthusiastic - just awesome employees.They have a TV set up so kids or guys (or whomever isnt interesting in shopping) can be entertained while you shop (handy). The prices are very reasonable and often have quite a few markdowns on their clothes (theres always a sale rack) - it makes much more sense to shop here than in the mall where clothes and accessories are triple the price. They also carry new clothes, shoes and jewelry specific to the store, so not *everything* is used.When Ive sold to them, Ive never had a problem. They only buy what they know they can sell. When they couldnt accept some of the clothes I brought in, they were polite, gracious, and explained to me they werent good sellers - its all good! Some people seem to take offense when they dont accept their clothes, but really, they are just doing their job and are not targeting YOU specifically. They have a list of things to buy/not buy and if your item doesnt work out, dont get butt-hurt. Its not like they are taking your money or clothes away.Over all, I really love this store and think its an awesome part of Wichita. You should check it out.

$15.99 for a threadbare Vans t-shirt? No, thank you! Yet, you didnt want my clothes that were new and still had tags on them? What a joke! First and last time Im going here. I can find the same clothes on clearance in the stores like JCP or Maurices for a heck of a lot less.

This was my 1st time ever going to this store - First impression, the store is very nice. Clothes are neatly organized & staff is very friendly. But what made my experience disappointing was when I was trying to sell my clothes... I had 15 shirts/blouses & 2 dresses I wanted to sell for cash, but the employees said its just looks worn out/used. All the clothes are in great condition! It didnt make sense...Also literally all my clothes are from name brands like Forever21, H&M, American Eagle, & etc! NONE of the clothes had holes or tears. All they would accept was 2 pieces of clothes, only got $5 from those 2 pieces. I just accepted it, got all my clothes back they didn’t want, & left the store. It’s definitely a nice store to shop at if your looking for name brands for a very cheap price, BUT I do not recommend trying to sell your used clothes with them...They’re very picky on what clothes they accept..

I have shopped and sold at Uptown Cheapskate for a few years now. Not once have I had a bad experience. I don’t go in with high expectations when selling items because I know it’s a 2nd hand store... For those who commented they didn’t get “fair value” then try selling it on your own if you feel it’s worth more.As for “profiling”...again...been shopping there for a few years now...and as always they ask to take my items so I can continue shopping without an armful of clothes. Same with the fitting room. ALWAYS escorted and I have never felt like they were “watching” me.I also have worked in retail and this is the slow season so perhaps they were over attentive because they needed to stay busy but I certainly would never jump to the conclusion that I was being “profiled”. Have you ever been to a restaurant and you were almost the only one there? And your server kept coming around checking on you every 5 minutes? Same difference...slow=more attentive. NOT profiling. There is a difference...In conclusion, I for one will continue to shop and sell there as do several of my friends, coworkers and family.Thank you Uptown Cheapskate for your continued great customer service!

This place is DOPE! Great place to find really nice brands super cheap (duh), buuuuuuuut, they do a lot of other cool stuff too! Sign up for the texts! They run quite a few sales through the year and they are gooooooood sales! If its a % off one item sale, they take it off the most expensive item you buy instead of the cheapest, like other places do. I sold some jeans there, not expecting much and was but was surprised and happy with the result. Also, theyll donate what they cant take to a charity that clothes the homeless, which I think is super awesome! Staff is bout it bout it! They keep the store nice and stay busy but are always SUPER helpful when you have questions. If you have not checked this place out yet, you need to!

I am very disappointed with this store. I came into the store on 11/21/19 they gave me a $5 credit that can be used at anytime since they closed early due to having too many clothes to buy from other customers. There was no label on the card giving an expiration date. Came in today to use it and they wont honor it saying that the expiration date was written on the card, clearly it is NOT! One of the reps just ignored me, I may not come back to this store, they need to be more clear or provide an updated in credit voucher for customers!

Just shopped the clearance sale and, WOW! I got some great deals! My favorite thing was finding an entire Nike outfit for my husband for Father’s Day.Uptown Cheapskate always has something my style. Such good prices, too. It’s the perfect place for retail therapy on a budget.

Great store for finding (gently used) named brand clothing. They have a great selection and it is very well organized. Just be sure to try the clothing on before purchasing. They are used so sometimes they dont fit just the way they should. Overall great store! I dont enjoy shopping very much, but really enjoy coming to this store.

My first impression was that this was a nicely curated 2nd hand boutique- but the people here are so obsessed with keeping their stuff that I felt uncomfortable buying any of it. I drove here all the way from Kansas City to spend time with my sister and have a nice girls day out. We try to make this a thing we do a few times a year because we dont see each other often. I look forward to this trip all year, and Uptown Cheapskate has been on our shopping tour a few times, I always get excited when we go.When we went in we were greeted by the staff, which was nice, but as we shopped it felt like we were being followed around the store. I have worked in retail and loss prevention for 10 years, and I know what profiling looks like. My mother, my sister, and I came in all bundled up in fluffy coats because the wind chill was a -5. My sister is a bit ethnically ambiguous and my mom is short a few teeth since she invested all of her her money in raising children instead of dental work- and I am certain that without knowing us, assumptions about our intent were made.We looked around for about 30 minutes before we were approached by a small blond girl who requested that we hand her the clothes were we holding and told us that if we wanted to try on anything she would escort us to the fitting room. It didnt feel like a request so much as an Im going to take these so you dont leave with them. AT NO TIME did I see any other customer being singled out in such a way. I was both humiliated and angry to the point of tears. It completely ruined the experience for me.When we left I was so upset I cried in the car. My mom went back in to have a word with the manager because she wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt- Abby did an excellent job of toeing the company line and acknowledging that I was upset while deflecting any responsibility or culpability on behalf of the company or the associates. (Golf clap for Abby) But at no point was I offered a real and sincere apology. I was instead told, Im sorry you feel that way- we feel that we are providing good service. Newsflash: If your service is leaving customers distraught and in tears- its not good service.I worked very hard for this trip. Too hard to be embarrassed and treated in such a way. I truly hope the teens of dollars Uptown prevents in actual theft is worth the hundreds Im sure they lose annually by treating every customer like a shoplifter. I will never shop here again and I sincerely encourage any one else thinking about shopping here to reconsider. There are better businesses staffed by better people.

Great location, the store is very clean and organized. The staff was very nice. The clothing is very nice and pretty but it is way over priced.

The staff was excellent with their customer service. They made conversation and instead of letting me continue to hold a bunch of clothes while my boyfriend tried on his stuff, they took it off my hands politely and even would ask for the stuff he didnt want and put the stuff he did on a hook so I still didnt have to hold it. The whole place was tidy and very organized. Decently priced.

The name says it all. You’re better off selling stuff via Facebook to people. If you’re bigger than a L for a guy, don’t even bother unless you wanna look like a 85 year old man. Oh, and instead of buying nice XL and XXL clothes to bolster the section, they waste your time. Wouldn’t shop or sell here again if my life depended on it.

Sad to have to come to this terrible review but this place has gone way down hill. What used to be my favorite place is now the one store I have to avoid. Every time I go in clothes are always halfway off the hanger, racks are really empty, and most of all the employees aren’t dressed their part! Why would I want to shop somewhere that is messy and the employees don’t seem to care to dress trendy and cute for the job? Am I wrong? My review is a little overdue, but about 4 weeks ago it took me a good 30 extra minutes of my time that I really didn’t have to wait in line just to check out 2 ITEMS!! That’s very ridiculous to me especially when there were two girls just twiddling their thumbs. I also forgot to mention that some of the girls working are not very kind either. Dirty look and not interacting with customers at all is not a good way to attract customers. Uptown, please find away to UP yourselves. I took my things here to give it a try. It is worth the drive from the East side! I had sold a few things at Platos Closet before, but the staff was not friendly at all, and they only bought a few items for under $20 dollars. I went here and not only did they accept almost all of it, but they donated anything that wasnt in pristine condition. The staff was so nice even though when they opened their doors they had 6 people all ready to sell their items. I am very happy with their selection of clothes as well. The racks are easy to shop and have truly amazing prices. They have just earned a regular!

Walking in from having a poor experience at Platos, there was already a huge difference in costumer service. I was greeted in a professional manner despite how busy they were, and all interactions with employees were pleasant, despite not selling all the items I wanted. The employees took the time to explain the process to me as a first time customer, including a heads up on things they probably wouldnt take just due to season change, etc, which made the whole thing way more comfortable. At the end of the offer, they explained why some items were rejected in a friendly way that didnt humiliate anyone. They were honest but polite and I can get behind my things being rejected if it is handled in a positive way. Many people can have a bad experience just because they dont like feeling rejected, but I feel Uptown Cheapskates employees understood that and softened the blow with great customer service.

I find a number of clothes with significant tears or holes that should probably get caught before being put out for sale. I have also found some of the brands arent premium brands and are priced a little high for being used. I can usually find some good stuff still with some patience, and carefully checking items over. They do offer a return policy, as long as the clothes are not washed. So if you do get home and notice a tear I assume you can take it back.

This has been my go to store for years and I turn everyone on to this store. I even have family who comes from Nebraska every year to take their kids school shopping here. I buy and sell a lot here and always get fair price for my sold items!!!!! Love UC!!!!!!!!!!!

Uptown cheapskate is awesome!! I walked out with a bag full of clothes for under $20. Their sales are awesome! With good quality merchandise.

I am from derby so it takes a good 30 minutes to get over to their store and I came in with one bag and they said it would be a 2 hour waiting time since they had so many bags to go through. So I went to see a movie at the Warren behind and when I came back they chose 5 items from probably 20 and offered me $10. I paid at least $30 for each of those 5 items and they said they usually offer a 3rd of the original price. Sorry I dont think $2 is a third. I am now a firm believer that this place sucks and I will never go there again.

My husband and I were in the store today and there were only 4 girls working! They did a great job managing the register, buying, and the fitting rooms! Love this store and the girls who work there!

This is my all time favorite clothes store! Staff are nice and clothes are very affordable.

If you just want to buy clothes this place is a good thrift shop to look around, but the racks are very crowded so it is hard to find things. Selling clothes though. I went in with designer very expensive dresses, skirts, tops and jeans. They refused all. I believe the issue was they are not used to European labels and the clothing I had brought in had been bought in the UK. They said there was damage on the clothing. I still havent found any damage on any of them! They dont accept more wedding suitable dresses saying they are too formal. All the jeans they refused saying they was used (some I have only ever worn once!) Honestly if you go to sell dont be disappointed if they dont accept. They seem rather picky in an arbitrary way that makes no sense.

The worst. I had two bag full of clothes they didnt go through them bc i watched them. Then told me they were looking for summer clothes. Well if you checked bags like you should have most of the clothes were summer clothes. And most of them new. The girls rather talk than do their job. Never take my business there again.

My wife was at Uptown trying to sell a tall laundry basket full of clothes, most brand new or hardly worn. They only bought 13 items. Which is fine, I understand they don’t buy everything. However, right in front of her they were talking about her, making gay jokes and saying how she “must be the guy of the relationship.” This is NOT how you run a business. You may have conflicting views, but you do not talk or joke about someone in front of their face. We used to be frequent shoppers, but we will never return. I’m very disappointed.

I think I was most surprised by their scrunchies! Lol The prices were a little high for a consignment shop, for the styles I saw. I’ve seen trendier clothes at plato’s. Either way, I’d check them out again.

Great savings on almost new clothing and foot wear in excellent condition. I like seasonal selections.

For youthful ladies, tweens and smaller framed girls this is a great place to find slightly used cute clothes. Some accessories are found here too. For older or larger framed ladies ( moms) I would skip this store, better fit for your daughter.

As far as resale shops in the area, this is the way to go. Dont expect to get tons for your items, but it is usually a great deal if you take store credit. The women that work at the store have been very kind and helpful.

I’ve been going to uptown for almost four years now, & i’ve never been let down. i usually shop for jeans and there’s been a few times i left without anything bc i’m six feet tall and it’s hard to find jeans that fit me perfectly. but i get it! the employees are always really nice & when i’ve got my little boys with me, they never complain that they’re being loud or disruptive. love UC!

1. Occasionally you can find some decent items but very rarely. 2. They dont really carry quality brands and are more interested in trendy clothes that are made of crappy materials. 3. They are not inclusive with sizing or different body types (i.e. curvy or busty). If you are a curvy girl, youre going to have a hard time finding clothes that are flattering. 4. They are extremely picky when you bring in clothes to sell and they basically offer you nothing. Ultimately, you will feel ripped off. 5. They dont really carry many wardrobe basics 6. Theyre mens section is laughably terrible 9. Much of their inventory is overpriced.
