This is a really cool store and the owner is a really nice guy and knows his stuff. Took my telescope in to get fixed and he was very helpful.

First went to the Science Education Center in the 80s when I was a kid and it was located on Hillside. Loved all of the neat things they had when I was a kid. Now I enjoy getting to take my kids there (plus the kid in me still has fun here). Rockets, robot kits, telescopes and numerous other fun and interesting science related products. I dont think theres any other place like it around here.

I liked the layout of the store since it has moved to new location. The owner is great very knowledgeable from lab equipment to telescopes and everything in between, even if ur just looking for a magnifying glass for ur desk lamp. If ur a novice or an expert def. I have always enjoyed supporting the local brick and mortar stores and I have supported the S.E.C. since it was located on Hillside. But today the owner was much too busy selling short pieces of glass pipe to a fairly steady stream of people needing to conduct science experiments than to talk telescopes. 😥

Mark runs a great store, only place to buy telescopes and astronomy equipment in Kansas. The best location to find model and high power rocketry motors and kits.

We buy all our Home school science supplies from the Science Education Center. The science guy who works there is super knowledgeable on everything. Our son recently bought a Celestron telescope from there and is extremely happy with it. We recommend the Science Education Center highly.

The Science Education Center is the place to go for everything from Crystal growing kits, Chemestry sets and supplies, Robotics and Magnetics, vast array of Model Rocketry supplies to the best line of Tellescopes to reach out and explore the cosmos and see whats out there with your own eyes. What ever your Science needs are the Sky Guy always greets you with a smile and friendly conversation. On a 5 star scale I give it ....6 stars !!

Pretty much the only place Im aware of in Wichita to get telescopes with anyone knowable. Usually has a decent selections of telescopes, rockets, lab equipment, and some fun things.

Love that there is a local shop in town that caters to science fans and young future scientists. They may not have the best selection, but they have things you wont get anywhere else in town. Plus they have the classics like rockets and telescopes.

Excellent service was provided upon arrival. Staff was able to answer questions with informed answers.

I was scammed out of $150. I bought a metal detector to find a diamond & white gold earring that was lost in the lawn. The salesperson said it would be able to pick it up & didnt bother to tell me that it could be possible that it wouldnt have enough metal in it to be detected. Very upsetting since the #1 reason I invested in it was to find the earring.

I recently made several visits to the Science Education Center regarding my interest in purchasing a telescope. Mark and his mother, who run the shop (and have for a few decades), were both incredibly helpful in educating me concerning brand reputation and quality, what to watch for (or avoid) and any additional equipment is needed to fully enjoy the telescope.I ordered the telescope through the store so Mark could inspect it for possible defects. A few weeks later, I was notified immediately after it was delivered, and when I arrived for the pickup Mark had already checked it over, boxed it back up, and input the local coordinates into the telescope tracking computer, meaning it was ready to go as soon as I set it up that night. He later helped me find the right types of eyepieces and color filters to further enhance the performance of the scope as well as advice for expanding into astrophotography in the future.The non-corporate mom & pop-type shops usually excel at personal customer service, and the Science Education Center is no exception - Ive seen first-hand that they can both talk at length regarding any of the products in their store, including rocketry kits/supplies, model kits, optics, local clubs and meetups concerning various hobbies, or just friendly conversation.I greatly recommend this store to anyone who is wanting to try out science/engineering-related hobbies (especially rocketry and telescopes). The shop also has a lot of items for younger audiences like chemistry and lego sets, among many others
