We just recently purchased a couple of Traxxas Rustlers from here. Since then, Ive been back 2 times lol. These cars are so fast, Ive broken mine twice already, and both times were spectacular! Luckily most of the replacement parts are rather inexpensive. And there are tons of upgrades you can do.Our sales expert was Howard, and he was fantastic. He didnt try to upsell us, and he made sure we got the best deal we could for our batteries. I was fortunate enough to deal with him on 2 out of 3 occasions, and he comes across as very knowledgeable, passionate, and patient with people new to the RC hobby world.

Outstanding customer service and everyone there are all passionate hobbyists. I prefer to order everything from them because of the military discounts along with the hobby card perks. Sean keeps the shop running smoothly and Steve is the gas and nitro expert. Everyone there is amazing and they really care about the product and their customer. I go in there a lot just to talk and expand my knowledge of the hobby. If your into rc, nitro, plans, drones, models, action figures etc. come to hobby town(Wichita) and support your local business and learn from fellow hobbyist.

I like going to this place because they have an assortment of different items that you would not necessarily expect. They also offer a military discount. The staff is very knowledgeable and what they do. And they also have an educational area. I feel like this was not just a store for grown-ups but also for kids to. As long as they are well supervised.

Only place in town that sells Gunpla, but selection is usually terrible. They mostly stock 00/Build Fighters kits, with a smattering of Uni/UC/thunderbolt and IBO. Sometimes you get lucky and find rare kits. They do stock PGs but selection is hit and miss. Ocassionaly they have Megas.Gunpla prices are usually way more expensive then what you pay online, but youre also not paying for shipping either and you get the item today rather then lost in the mail or weeks later.Really good boardgame selection. Have purchased a handful of games from them over the year. Decent variety of board games.1 side of store is all RC stuff, other side is trains/scale models/boardgames/warhammer/miniatures/science art experiments/tools and paint.In the middle they have TCGs but stock is pretty limited.My advice to management is stock wide variety of gunpla and stock better TCG options especially in the MTG/Yugioh/Pokemon areas.Management itself is pretty decent helpful and friendly. Never really had a bad experience. Highly recommended for local nerds.

Best RC Car and Drone shop in town, and Id say pretty easily so. All the staff know their stuff, they stick a ton of RC parts and can order anything. Id say their prices overall are even with Amazon, on bigger ticket stuff they are actually better. That mixed with the service makes it a hard place to beat. And I dont even race RC Boats!

I had an extra bad customer experience here. I ended up just leaving them the $400 worth of merchandise I had purchased there. I tried to contact a manager by email, but just received a couple of odd semi-threatening replies. This is not your ideal shopping destination.

The staff is friendly! I go in about once a month with my kids to let them check out the model train selection and there are a lot!! My youngest enjoys the little train table in there. The employees have never been rude. I always find new things in there! Check out their store it is very clean and peaceful!

What a neat place! It had a nice selection of items for a variety of ages for the youngest to the youngster in all of us, and especially for the those of us who enjoy our hobbies in our rare free time. It was my first trip and I wasnt disappointed!

I am from out of town and stopped by HobbyTown just for fun and to kill some time. This is the best hobby store I think that I have ever seen and the prices are equal to or less than mail order + shipping. My particular interest was RC airplanes and drones and they had plenty in stock. It’s a large store with a wide variety of hobby interests including cars, trains, and rockets. Lots of hardware, electronics, painting supplies and tools as well. I enjoyed browsing and the people there were knowledgeable, helpful and fun to talk too.

One of the last RC hobby shops in operation. Good guys there. They are very helpful. Wanted to buy an actual kit and they were willing to call and see if the one I wanted was available. Not many guys still build kits, but they were willing to take the extra step to help out.

Great inventory! If you are an experienced hobbyist or gamer and know what you are looking for you will enjoy this place. If you are looking for something specific and ask where it is someone should be able to help you, but dont expect good conversation, they dont seem very inspired. Its a good place to get what you want, but not the most fun or stimulating atmosphere. There are better options in Wichita that carry more specific product than the large inventory sold here.TL:DRProduct is good, staff is whatever, they have what you want but not a fun place to go get it.

Hobbytown is a lovely little gem. All kinds of wonderful games, trains, models, comics. Swing on by see if they have what you are looking for.

Bought 2 new trucks from them and within 2 weeks I have spent over $200 on additional parts with them. The problem is when they are selling you upgraded parts they do not even bother to tell you that you will need other parts to make those parts work. Pretty much seemed that I was bothering them trying to spend money local. Pretty disappointed that the folks at the hobby store cant manage to sell you the correct parts the first time.

Toys toys toys, boy do they have the toys! They have probably the widest selection of RC cars, trucks and planes in all of Wichita! And maybe the Midwest. Been going to this facility for many years now and always have had great service, and friendly advice. They also have all sizes of trains, and slotted race tracks along with an endless supply of different board games you could ever imagine! Great hobby store. It has tons of board games, table top games and roleplaying games. It also had a lot of the painting supplies for miniatures I needed and some I couldnt find online like the citadel miniature holder. The store also had a lot of other hobby goods like airplanes and models. The staff are very helpful and pleasant.

The staff is helpful and seems to know their products well. They have worked me through a couple different issues w/ my sons rc car at no charge. They have a good variety and from what Ive found online they are competitively priced.

Friendly staff, very helpful. They make sure you get the right stuff you need and not try to sell you stuff you dont need. I went in to buy rims and tires and they said to bring in my truck to make sure were get the right fit. Thats service.

Best place to go foe rare earth magnets and other tools you may need for hobbying. However you guys have to get your stock in order. Seems like you rarely have the stock to refill stuff like acrylic rods.

I am very new to Nitro R/C cars. One day I decided to go ahead and buy one, and unfortunately I decided to check Craigslist. I found a very cheap one on there, and bought it with the mindset that there was probably a lot wrong with it - I was right.I had seen this place listed when I was searching for other hobby related items in the past, but always decided on somewhere else. This time I was closer to this shop and decided to give it a try - I wasnt disappointed. This place is about an hour and a half drive from where I live, and Ive been there 4 times this month. It is a worthwhile trip every time.The most recent visit, I needed to replace my whole engine. The clerk who helped me was ultra nice, never got aggravated with my ignorance, and was a knowledge powerhouse of USEFUL information. When he saw me struggling with what I was needing done - he stepped in and offered help without hesitation. He saved me hours of agonizing tinkering, loads of money, and headaches.Not only does this place offer R/C items, but theres just about every other hobby there too - including art supplies, telescopes, trains, and science projects. The prices are extraordinarily fair. By far the best hobby shop Ive ever been to in the world.Thank you so much!!!!

Hobby Town is an odd place. The store is divided down the middle with craft supplies, art stuff, model trains, board games, and Dnd related items on the right hand side. The left hand side is devoted to model cars and planes. The staff seems to have a great breadth of knowledge regarding models and items related to models including the trains, cars, airplanes, and various RC type cars. They do not have a large knowledge base on the games, DnD, science kits, etc in my experience. However at least they try and want to help you as long as you ask for help. This isn’t a modern store made for people who are incapable of asking for help or expect to be treated like royalty. The store is staffed by a bunch of nice but gruff old men who are awesome but treat people the way they likely would want to be treated. The selection is broad, the prices are higher than you’ll likely find online. But it’s a great in person hobby store with people who can actually answer your questions. It is a local business and Wichita always needs more of these.

Great place, friendly staff. Just wish they would think about moving to a bigger place, opening a indoor track. You cant tell me that a indoor track just feet from your parts counter wouldnt pay off. I dont see how Hutch has a big enough following to support it but Wichita wouldnt. The weather killed Emery park not the following.

Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Not made many purchases but I have been there half a dozen times and they have save me tons of money in rookie mistakes. ...like a brushless micro losing with all aluminum parts I have no business driving. Instead I spent more money, got a nicer car, and had little trouble with it.

Had not been here in years. Dont remember the staff from back then. Bit the staff that was there were really friendly. Even towards a person who didnt realize that they had dialed a wrong number.

Whether youre looking for models, games, toys, or RC equipment, this place probably has it. And they have somebody whos knowledgeable enough to help out. A great place to find that thing you didnt even know you needed, when you walked in the door.
