Shortly after moving to Wilmington, I visited Ethan Allen for assistance in designing and furnishing the main living area in my new condo. That day I was fortunate to meet Haven Morrison, an energetic and talented designer there. After preliminary evaluations, I asked Haven to design the space around a blue-toned carpet I had seen in the store. She did a fantastic job choosing pieces and colors, encouraging me to get out of the box, while respecting my tastes and incorporating furniture I already had.When the new rug and furniture arrived Haven was there to oversee their precise placement that capitalized on my limited space. Nearly two years later I remain in love with my new space and marvel how she brought out the real me.

Prior to our move to Wilmington, we realized we would need some new furniture and recently decided to take that step. My husband and I recently moved to the Wilmington area and wanted to replace our master bedroom furniture. Not being familiar with the area, but familiar with Ethan Allens reputation, I found a showroom.I was introduced to Jennifer Mattis. We became fast friends. My original plan was to replace the nightstands and customize a more contemporary bed, working with a unique existing dresser. Jennifer made designing a custom room easy. With her direction, we found not matching but nightstands that compliment the mercury mirrored dresser. We also picked out a beautiful leather for the platform bed. I am generally not inclined to purchase everything from one source, but in this case I did. With Jennifers help and direction we transformed the room into a suite. We also purchased a painting, bedding ensemble, custom upholstered chair, side table, rug, and a shelf to hold all of our treasured family photos. The last elements are the window treatments, which we began today. Once again, Jennifer is making this process easy. She has a talent for helping you determine your style and implement that into your home. She is the best designer I have ever worked with. I will continue to consult her for all of our design needs.

We purchased a kitchen set with an oval table and 6 chairs based on the recommendation of the salesperson. (it was a custom order, so the table and chairs were not available to see prior to placing the order) When the furniture arrived, the table was not large enough to adequately fit the 6 chairs. When I contacted the salesperson about it, her response was Well you signed off on it, not the response I was hoping for!

We went to Ethan Allen to buy sofas. This was the third time we have bought furniture from the local branch. We told our designer, Debra Williams, what we owned and what we had in mind. She brought fabric samples to our house and was helpful with suggestions as soon as she saw what our tastes were. Between the time of our order and delivery of the sofas, we got regular updates. The staff person scheduling deliveries was very helpful in setting up a delivery time that was convenient for us and the shipment arrived within five minutes of the appointed time. The young men who brought the sofas in were polite, helpful and extremely efficient in getting the pieces in place. We are very pleased.

I bought /ordered a leather recliner from Ethan Allen in January 24, 2018. The chair is very attractive and comfortable. The customer service has been very poor. I never received any updates on the order except when I called the sales person and then not always a reply. The original delivery date was 4/9/2018, after numerous phone calls (with different reason/excuses each time) the chair was finally delivered on 5/15/2018. The delivery folks were pleasant and did exactly what I ask.Within in a day the foot rest would not stay in position when chair reclined, it lowers itself down. Not acceptable!I called the sales person and explained the problem to her answering system. A few days later she replied saying she had entered the problem to their service people and they would contact me, never have heard from anyone. I have called her back asking when will this get fixed. No answer as of today (6/10/2018).We have bought a number of pieces from Ethan Allen through the years and have always been very satisfied with service and the product. Not this time, totally unacceptable.

She spent an entire Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend and me in the store helping us with ideas for everything and narrowing those ideas into reality. Then she came out to the house to see the house, the room and to get a good idea of tastes, lifestyle and needs. She came up with suggested pieces and floor plans and we met for another Saturday in the store going over EVERYTHING. We ordered sofa, recliners, console, tables, ottomans, lamps -- an entire room. Jennifer was very knowledgeable, had great ideas, is clearly eager to help the customer pick whats best and very patient through the whole process. And she was FUN to work with. Excellent experience. Even the piece we ordered was chipped, EA responded immediately and had it repaired.We bought a floor model and had no option but to accept the piece based on the sale price. EA team resolved the issue within a week.

Designer Jennifer Mattis is five stars plus a million! She made the overwhelming process of buying furniture for a new home into a fabulous experience! As we navigated selections for each room of the house, Jennifers patience was beyond measure. Her enthusiasm is infectious and she even made my daughter a part of the design process. I’m not rating the store. I’m rating the furniture. I have 6 Ethan Allen pieces of furniture. All of them are wood pieces. My house was in the flood from Florence. I had 5’7” of water inside the house for 6 days.Every single piece of Ethan Allen furniture fell apart, I was not able to save any of them. On the other hand the wood pieces, like chairs and night stands that we bought at Pier One they still standing.A good cleaning and oil and they will look like new.I guess I will not be buying Ethan Allen furniture for the new house that we soon will start building.

Fifteen years ago we bought furniture from Ethan Allen. The designer did such a fabulous job that the pieces still work today! Recently we purchased a new home and needed a sofa. After trial and error, we again visited the Wilmington location and met Jennifer Mattis. It is so worth it to pay more when she will come to your home and see your space. We have an irregular shaped living area. The placement of furniture and the size of the couch was key to making the room all come together and she nailed it!

I just received the last piece of Ethan Allen furniture for our living area, and I just love how our room looks! Our Designer, Jennifer Mattis had such vision and put our room together with perfect colors and textures, I especially love the last piece, a robins egg blue end table that fits perfectly between our two recliners, that are brown leather, and lifts their depth.Thank you so much Jennifer, I would highly recommend you to design any room professionally and beautifully!Thank you again Jennifer Mattis,Diane Rezek

She visited my home to assist me with my selections, she made excellent recommendations after viewing my home, and we worked well together as a team.
