Joel and his team are top notch. I had an unfortunate demise to my boat engine and had to re-power. Joel and his team did a great job of taking care of us quickly and were very thorough on everything at time of delivery. Their shop and showroom are immaculate and everyone was so professional! I was not pressured in any way, they explained all the options and allowed me time to make the best decision for me. I could not be more happy with the entire process (other than having to get a new engine). I would highly recommend them for any of your boating/ repair needs!

These last few years weve had three boats, all serviced by Saltwater Marine: Boston Whaler with 30hp Evinrude, Seapro with 140 Suzuki, Grady White with twin 140 Suzukis. Every time the crew has done a great job- from leadership right through to the technicians, who even take the time to explain what was done and why. Great business, great leadership, great crew.

I was looking to purchase another boat and I reached out to Saltwater Marine and talked to Jodie about what I was looking for. Jodie was straight forward and answered all my questions without hesitation and also the details of the purchase. I stopped in on February 4th and Jodie had everything ready to go and I was done in under an hour! Joel went over the boat with me and just as Jodie he answered all my questions and also made recommendations on the scheduled maintenance. I couldnt ask for a smoother transaction with great people. Im in sales so I know what good customer service is and theyre top notch!

I got into a bit of a bind last Saturday at the Carolina beach boat ramp. I realized I needed a new trailer hub after it was too late. A guy at the ramp told me about Saltwater Marine and how he’d been helped there in the past. I was able to pull my trailer to the shop, and the staff kindly let me replace the bad hub right outside (I wasn’t making it any farther without a replacement). One of the employees, Ryan, was especially helpful and gave my pointers when I needed them. I cannot say enough how thankful I am that Ryan and the rest of the Saltwater Marine team was kind enough to help me out when I needed it most.

We have tried numerous marine mechanics over the years and have found it was like playing a game of roulette, which is nerve wrecking. Im more than satisfied with the service we have received from Joel, Jodie, Ryan and all the fine folks at Saltwater Marine in Wilmington NC.Everyone we have referred to them, has had nothing but great things to say about their experiences. If youre a boat owner and want someone who is truthful, precise and will exceed your expectations, you will not go wrong with Saltwater Marine.

Although Saltwater Marine seem to be very friendly they have over promised and under delivered, they charge a premium price for a less than standard customer service. I went to them based on a 5 star review but that is incorrect. Being a first time boat owner I needed my Yamaha 90hp diagnosed for service as it was idling rough, so I called to see what would be the cost and the process. I was told that they could handle it and I just needed to bring the boat in and I can get an estimate anywhere from 30min to 1hour depending who is in front of me, what they fail to say their line was a week to a week ½ out. I shopped around and learned that most places in town were about the same back log, so I decided to go with saltwater. 9 days later I called them to get the progress, I was told I was next and the Master Mechanic will call me, in which he did to get some history. I provided him with as much information as I could, later in the day he advised me that the oil pump was defective and he will need to replace it in order to proceed, he advised me that he didn’t have this item in stock and will have to order it. He did advise me of estimated cost part and labor up to this point about $400.00 and price is climbing. This was a Thursday afternoon so I asked how long will it take he advised he should have the part by Tuesday so once again I waited. I called Wednesday and was told the part will arrive Friday and the Master Mechanic will call me. Friday came and went so Saturday I called again for an update and was told that I will get an update on Monday. At this point I am a bit disillusion but was already committed so I waited, Monday morning I got a call from the Master Mechanic stating that the oil pump has been installed and it is working but still running a bit rough so according to him he changed the #2 spark plug and its working and if I wanted the other two plugs changed which I agreed although they were purchased from them and they look new as I used the boat three time last season he also advised me a cover on the thermostat is missing and he could replace it for about $10.00 but will have to order it and once again I have to wait until Wednesday I said OK, Then the Master Mechanic said he has some bad news. He advised me that the handle on the wench broke and do I want him to fix it .. WOW Really !! The following Monday I called again and was advised that I was next and will have the boat by COB and that too didn’t happen. The next morning I was advised the boat was ready. So the final cost for oil pump, 3plugs and $10.00 cover was over $900.00Expected Premium Service for a Premium Price, Saltwater Marine failed me on this one!

As a first time boat owner it can be a little overwhelming trying to diagnose issues with a boat. I have a 2013 Sea Fox with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke that I purchased last year. Since the motor was still under an extended warranty I needed to find an authorized Yamaha dealer. Fortunately for me I found Saltwater Marine. Jodie and the folks at Saltwater have been NOTHING but wonderful. They have provided excellent customer service, on time diagnostics, all at very reasonable pricing. Just recently I had an issue with my motor shutting down and going into safe mode. I called and had them take a look...come to find out there was a slow oil leak that was causing the sensor to go off and put the motor into safe mode. Since they had looked at the motor back in March they took full responsibility in that either it was a faulty drain plug or something could have been over tightened...either way they took ownership and did not charge me a dime. However, they could have come up with a whole host of issues they could have told me it was and I would have never known. Due to there honesty and integrity not only in this instance but my dealings before I would recommend Saltwater Marine to anyone. Thank you Jodie and team for making my experiences with boat ownership wonderful.

Joel and Jodie are absolutely wonderful!! We had such a pleasant experience dealing with them. They are honest and upfront about all the details of our new motor and always happy to answer our questions. We give them more than 5 stars!! If you are looking for a new motor or servicing for your existing motor, this is the place to go. We found them while vacationing in Carolina Beach and came back from Virginia to get our new motor.

I drove past Saltwater Marine a thousand times before ever stopping to look at their boats. As a former boat salesman that worked for the largest marine dealership network in the country, I was jaded in to thinking that a quality boat buying experience was best delivered by the larger dealerships. After all, I had sold and delivered a lot of boats to new and seasoned boaters. I was wrong. After meeting Joel, Gabby and Jodi, it was very clear that they their entire team was completely dedicated to selling high quality boats and backing them up with outstanding service. Taking delivery of my boat was a flawless process. There was no punch list to address after I took it. The boat was perfect due to the SM team QC process BEFORE I got it.Over the year + of ownership, I have contacted Joel and Jodi several times with questions and requests. They are extremely responsive, and work quickly to address any service needs. They are rated the #1 Yamaha service center in the area for a reason. The techs call me after visiting my boat to give an update of any findings and recommendations. They are timely, accountable and reasonable.I have and will continue to highly recommend Saltwater Marine to anyone looking for a new/used boat or just needing service. They make sure you spend your time out on the water and not waiting for the service at the dcck!

Bought my Pioneer/Suzuki from a dealer on market street and they screwed up the NMEA install along with a host of other issues. Donny sorted it all out and dressed up the sloppy wiring job. I will never take my boat anywhere else. They also had previously done a great job fixing up an old trailer...new leaf springs, bunk brackets etc. Just great service.Added 6/10/19: They just finished doing a compression test and repairing some wiring on and older motor of mine. The yard was packed when I dropped it off and they still knocked it out in about a week and a half, and at a very fair rate.

I took my 2006 23 McKee Craft with twin 2013 175 Suzuki motor in two weeks ago for them to diagnose and fix a weird problem I was having with my port motor and NEMA 2000 gauges not displaying the RPMs and the small gauge not displaying my fuel level. I also have a Garmin 4208 and new Garmin 7612 that is networked into the NEMA guage clusters. This means that Suzuki doesnt want other manufactures plug n play with their electronics (even though Suzuki guages that I have NEMA 2000 are made by Lowrance and that Garmin can interface with any NEMA 2000) So, after a long conversation with Donnie we determined that the gauges needed to have all the firmware updated to the latest versions. A day was spent doing this and decided to overnight two new interface cables along with correcting the wiring harnesses that was previously installed by another shop located under the helm with the correct splicing and connection points while making sure all of the black Ts were installed properly which also may have caused a short somewhere from vibrations. The morning after the new interface cables arrived I received a phone call from Donnie telling me that all problems have been resolved! This was amazing news after having so many un-knows with so many different equipment manufactures integrated together. I was then going to purchase all of my motor servicing equipment from them and do the service myself. I quickly realized to have Donnie and his team preform this service while at the shop given the professionalism that was demonstrated while fixing the original issue for bringing the boat in. All in all the Saltwater Marine Team was a pleasure to work with. From the initial conversation with Gabrielle then Jody to Donnie and his team. I have now found a locally owned place to bring all of my marine issues to be resolved in a fast and professional manor. Thank you Saltwater Marine!
