Our backsplash installation couldn’t have gone better! Galena and Peter tore out the old tiles, replaced the drywall, and installed the new tiles in one day. We were amazed! They were so helpful with the placement of the tiles over the stove. We love the work they did. All of Avalon Flooring staff were wonderful. From beginning to end, we were pleased and very satisfied!

We are currently involved in a major renovation of our home. I am pleased to be working with Avalon on this project. I was in Avalon Flooring in Wilmington just to look get started on my projects. Their selection on all products was amazing. I really want to thank salesman Rob Hudson as he was so patient and informative on every aspect of products and options.

After using Avalon last year for a basement tiling project, we came back and worked with Justin to order runners for our new stairs and custom sized area rugs for other rooms to protect our newly refinished hardwood floors. Terry was also great with the measure and offered flexibility when we thought we wanted to change our mind (but ended up sticking with our original plan). We loved our new runners and area rugs so much, we just went back to order some more custom area rugs. Thank goodness for Avalon - goodbye run of the mill area rug sizes!

My wife purchased near 500 square feet of Evolution Dark Project, approximately 40 boxes of product, and the variation in the tiles is ridiculous. Horizontal lines, vertical lines, diagonal lines, polka dots, etc.The quality control is obviously lacking. So much for a premium product. Since this cannot be returned, as it is a discontinued product, we would like some sort of reimbursement for this.

Avalon only wants the easy big jobs. If your room isnt 100% level, perfectly square & step-free, they wont be interested. Messages are seldom returned, if at all. Very disappointing experience and huge waste of our time trying to do business with them.

Rich was an ultimate professional in helping me to select my backsplash tiles. I wanted subway tiles and he shared that they came in a variety of shades and sizes. He gave ideas I would have never entertained. I will return for new flooring for my 4 bedrooms and hallway.

Used them many times always very pleased. Over the years I had several people from Avalon come out to the house to measure up the job. However I always ask them to send Tim. He is by far the most knowledgeable and full of useful information you never even considered when ordering up materials. As for the installation our bathroom went from old to new in no time at all. This experience gave him a great advantage of giving us confidence in what he was saying. The job turned out with no problems. He kept us informed about everything. Time the tile came in. To making sure it was the right tile and grout. He followed through to the end of the job. He just didnt write the order and forget about it. You should hire more sales people like him. He was a total professional.

Very nice store. I was in the area to visit family for Thanksgiving and stopped by Avalon to look at tile options for my future backsplash. We used Avalon for a four day project of removing carpet in a basement and installing tile. The estimator, Tim, was fabulous and continually kept in contact with us during the entire process to make sure we were satisfied. Alex the installer was AMAZING. He and his team were the best installers we have ever encountered in flooring. They were polite, courteous and left our home exceptionally clean after each day. Unfortunately when I went there initially to order my flooring the associate could not find any of my records then after 20 minutes they were finally found... ordered new flooring was told 2-4 weeks for delivery... 3 weeks later (today) I call and they can’t find any of my information yet again after I just paid them almost $800 for my floors and AFTER my contact information was supposedly “updated” in their system. The associate I spoke with today gave me an attitude because neither of my numbers were on file which really is not my problem because clearly the previous associate did not update my information ... after giving her my possible second number on file she replied “nope” and at that point I could tell I was bothering her so I hung the phone up... their customer service is terrible and it’s unfortunate because I am currently re doing 3 houses that will be in need of flooring and back splashes but will not be buying anymore supplies from Avalon Flooring and will definitely not be recommending to anyone!

We had an excellent experience with Avalon, Wilmington Pike. Our salesperson, the rep. that measured and helped greatly with design and layout were terrific. Prices are not cheap (we were not looking for cheap), but all hardwood, luxury vinyl and carpeting were done professionally and as scheduled and priced. Possibly they have read reviews, heard complaints and amped up their customer care. I was pleased. Heading there now for area rugs.

What an excellent Installation! I wanted to personally thank the installation manager Jon Manchin for scheduling Vanderson & crew to complete my wood installation for my living room. My dream kitchen is currently under construction. I made the mistake of purchasing flooring from the store in Wilm., DE. Unfortunately, the salesman didnt calculate the right amount of main and accent tile. Simply put, he ordered too much of the main tile and not enough accent tile. As a consumer, you trust their skill set since this is their profession. I went back to their store with the excess boxes of main tile with the hopes of getting a refund; and asked them to order the 1 box of accent tile needed to complete the floor. The manager did make good on the accent tile but arrogantly refused to refund me for the overage of the main tile. Keep in mind this was THEIR mistake; not mine. After repeat phone calls to check on the delivery status, someone with enough concern decided to check in the warehouse and behold, there was the product. I ended up having to make 2 trips from PA to DE--an earlier trip to pick up the back splash tile with the hopes the floor tile would be available. But because no one bothered to inform the warehouse guy that the special order was due in, I made a second trip to pick up the special order that was there on my first trip. I have plans for other home renovations but, I will NEVER do business with them again! Sure they offer nice products, but NO regard whatsoever for customer service. Unbelievable!

Employees werent helpful, almost like they assumed I wasnt going to buy anything when in fact we were shopping for materials to renovate our master bathroom. We left and went to the Tile shop down the street and received excellent service.

Not good.Went to store and ordered a rug told it was in stock, that was a Thur. The following Monday when the floor was measured was told it was out of stock for another week.Went to store again and picked another rug and scheduled installation the next Thur.Had to arrange someone to be at the house 1-4.Got confirmation and an email stating that.Well Thur the installer called at 10.30 and said he was there.The dispatcher called with a major attitude said he was in the neighborhood, was early, really, 2-1/2 hours but agreed to send the guy to lunch. He returned at 12.30.Never again would shop there!

Called Avalon to get a bag of Silverado sanded grout because lowes quit selling it. I have used this grout for years, so I drove up from Middletown, and went to the counter to have two ultra kind sales persons help me. No doubt Ill be dealing with them again.

We will never buy from Avalon Carpet and Tile again. A couple years back we ordered carpet for 2 rooms and 2 hallways, along with 6 steps. The carpet was installed and the next day there was waves in all the areas. They sent out a rep to take photos and to review the situation, The guy was rude and after many phone calls by me they finally sent a new set of carpet installers to fix the problem. The first guys did not want to take the time to replace tack strips that were there since 1976 and installed the new carpet using the old strips!! We bought a lot of carpet from them and then they treated us horribly when there was a problem. The only advice I have, is to ask for Michael to install carpet bought from Avalon!! He is a good worker and made sure that it was done right!Recently, we stupidly returned to buy some tile for a bathroom renovation. Since my husband was installing I thought it would be ok. NO!! They sent the wrong color tile which we did not notice since it was just a shade lighter. Then when we needed to replace a box of broken tiles, we realized after a couple were put up on the wall that they now gave us the original color that we ordered and they did not match!! When I called to speak to our salesperson......he was rude! I agree with previous reviewers, Avalon Carpet and Tile takes your moneyand then offers horrible customer service if there is any problem at all. Both purchases were over $2000.00! Needless to say I will never return to their store!

Wow rude and very expensive. Lowes across the street has the same kinds of stuff at a fraction of the price.
