Grinders is great. Its not the best coffee Ive ever had (I prefer stronger flavor), but this is probably my favorite coffee shop in Wilmington. They have a nice selection of specialty drinks and the staff is always very friendly. The coffee iced cubes are a nice touch as well.

Best coffee in Wilmington. There is no bitterness. They have an expansive menu if you like all the crazy drinks (I do) and theyre always letting the baristas come up with seasonal specials. The bulk of their menu is not online, so youve gotta go in and see wha they offer. The honey bunny latte is a must try!

Amazing drinks, awesome atmosphere, friendly staff, huge variety of flavors and unique specialty drinks, yummy baked goods. The only dislike is the number of text messages I received after giving them my number for their rewards program, but that was easily fixed by unsubscribing.

This place has awesome customer service-they’re super friendly and quick. The coffee itself is equally as awesome! It’s not bitter (like Starbucks) and in lattes you actually taste the espresso instead of tasting nothing but milk. Also, having ice cubes with coffee is like the best idea ever!

I love this place! I go in all the time and no matter how early or busy it is the staff are always super friendly and attentive. The menu is diverse but I always get the same iced coffee beverage - I have never had a better one anywhere else! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Keep up the awesome work! :)

Honestly a wonderful atmosphere! The staff are amazing and super friendly, not to mention that their speciality drinks are to die for. Would recommend it to anyone needing a good cup of coffee/latte or need a place to get work done.They also have live music going on every once in a while, its usually locals and most of them are surprisingly really good!

Overall general vibe of the establishment is pleasant. Coffee was was tasty, however, the person whom took our orders at the counter had little to no knowledge of the available drip coffees (flavor notes, aromas, etc.) Nice small selection of snacks. The granola bar and rice crispy treat were quite delicious.

Grinders Caffè is a calm and quiet place to study or read as well as to group up for coffee on any occasion. The Batistas in my experience are always more than friendly and accommodating to guests and locals alike.Not to mention an open mic night hosted every Thursday, 6 to 9. Musicians are highly encouraged to come by and play original works.The menu however is where Grinders shines offering a wide variety of caffeine and decaf options hot and cold. With many lactose conscious and sweetener options theres something for everyone to enjoy.(The lavender latte is a personal favorite worth a try!)

Great place with lots of choices. Excellent staff. Prices are really good. Delicious options. Everything sounded good. I tried a couple frappes and a milkshake. Everything was delicious, but I really enjoyed the Mexican Mocha if I had to pick the best. Definitely coming back and would recommend this place.

Cute hidden gem! Super friendly and fast service. Had an iced coconut cream latte with coconut milk. SO DELICIOUS! Complete with coffee ice cubes. Will definitely be back next time I am in the area. 👍

The coffee was very good. The biggest problem though was when I was checking out the cashier rudely said it’s a five dollar minimum on a credit card. She than said “would you like to tip up.” There are also no signs posted stating that. I understand if a business has a five dollar minimum it was just very rude the way I was told and I was also told at the end once my coffee had been made because you pay after it’s made. I was not told before hand. Most likely would not return due to the rude attitude of the cashier.

Coffee is excellent.. I prefer not to stray too far from a classic coffee. The iced lattes are too sweet for my taste. Saturday mornings they play live music which is a nice addition to coffee dates. Great local spot with obvious return customers.

I miss the old spot sooooo bad. Before Hurricane Florence they had the best spot in town on Wrightsville Avenue. It was cozy, hip, and authentic. Now, unfortunately, they are in a plaza and the seating inside isn’t very comfortable, too open, and you can’t smoke outside. I hope they will move back to the old spot. It was super convenient and awesome as hell.

Grinders, grinders, we love grinders. Love grinders! Large incense selection, but dont mind. Great smoothies, people will know which one you are talking about even if you dont know it by name. Id recommend the sunshine with coconut milk and whip cream. That sounds great.

Does not resemble a coffee shop from the outside, but inside is very different. Good atmosphere, purposeful decor, excellent and knowledgeable staff. They use flavoring and sweetening techniques that should be more common in the industry. Their method really helps for consistent flavor combinations that are not over-sweetened. My wife and I now have a new coffee stop in Wilmington, Highly recommend!

Grinders has a very cool atmosphere. If you want to get some work done and dont mind business coming in and out then this is a great place to do it. A lot of college students study here as well. Their coffee has always been delicious and their baristas help me make up my mind when I feel like trying something new.They do have a $5 minimum to use your card. BUT they will actually write you a gift card for the difference of your total is under 5.

Very nice coffee spot that I never knew existed until I had to meet a client there. They have plenty to choose from and they even have organic coffee which is a plus for me. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and I think the lady said they even have open mic night, just don’t remember the info, because it was a while back when I had visited

I go here almost every morning. The staff is great and always treats us and the customers well. Sometimes its a little busy and the employees get behind on orders, and its not the cheapest place, but its a welcoming and cozy place full of friendly people. This is what keeps me coming back. Sydney and the new girl make the BEST frappes out of the whole bunch! :)

Love love love - awesome atmosphere for hanging out, studying, meeting someone. There is a good variety of beverages, food and merchandise. I was very happy with how much seating was available bc it can get busy at times. Recommend the sunshine smoothie!

This is truly a hidden gem! There is SO much variety for a drink! Smoothies, tea, coffee, speciality drinks... grinders has it all. They have a ton of pastries and what seemed to be breakfast and light lunch. They have a stage inside and when I was there on a Saturday morning there was live music. Dogs are NOT allowed inside but they are allowed outside. There are three tables outside so be sure to get here at the right time if bringing a furry friend!

This is a wonderful coffee shop with delicious coffees and other drink options. They have a little tabled and two couches for you to get work done. They have food for breakfast too. During the week, in the evenings they have open mic night for some of the very talented local performers. This is truly a shop with extremely loyal customers.

Get the Sunshine shake if you want ice cream, peanut butter, espresso, and bananas all in one place! I prefer it with whole milk instead of soy personally. Great service, baristas are always smiling and know their regulars by name.

Great little coffee shop with a great staff. Head over to the counter and place your order. Take a seat in the big old comfy leather couches, and relax for a minute while your coffee is being made then pay when you pick-up your drink. So many drinks to choose from here. We even found something for the Hawaii lover in the group.

Pretty good coffee but most times the workers are rude. Sometimes they are nice, but mostly a rude atmosphere.

Unfortunately after moving here a year ago and getting awesome service the first two times, the services changed, new people all the time, not as friendly, and I promote my neighborhood local business always, but I gave it a try a couple more times...and not impressed. I guess if you know the right people you get better service. I witnessed it in line as my service lacked.Good luck

Grinders is my favorite coffee shop in Wilmington, I have yet to have a bad cup of coffee there and I have tried just about everything on the menu. The atmosphere is really cozy and everyone there is always super friendly. Also, I make sure to go there every Sunday for half priced smoothies - my favorite has bananas, peanut butter and espresso, so delicious!

I first found Grinders as a sophomore in college, and have since spent many a day studying and hanging out with my friends there. The atmosphere is wonderful and the baristas are always great to talk to while waiting for your drink. The Thai Iced coffee is hands down the best thing on the menu and it always keeps me coming back for more!

I was pretty skeptical when I walked up to this coffee shop, but I had one of the best iced coffees I have ever had here! I cant stop thinking about it! I was just stopping in on my way back to Michigan, and I am trying to figure out how I can find a coffee as good here!

Neat spot with great coffee and service! Whenever my days at a 3 on a 0-10 scale, I go to Grinders. Picks it up to at least a 4 where it stays.... as soon as I leave Im pushing 5... I better get back quick!

If you have a service animal, not only will they discriminate against you, they will assume your service animal is a pet, especially if you meet the federal requirements ( psst there are none other than the simple need for a service animal {which includes horses}) However they will ask you for papers as if you were on german soil about 70 years ago, and claim that in order to have a service dog you must have registered it since you arent required to under federal law, and dont forget to buy that fancy vest for your help which is also not required, and of course if you came ill prepared be prepared to be asked to leave, especially if your service dog or horse is on his or her best behavior. Dont worry though, they wont even ask the questions they are allowed to ask! -1 star. Also I hate to break the news but if you want a smoothie and you find yourself there you may as well take yourself to tidal creek, where you can get an organic one for the same price!

Just delicious coffee...Addendum.. Grinders was flooded out during Hurricane Florence, Sept 2019. The building is currently undergoing repair so I PRAY that they return when its complete. I REALLY miss them.

Baristas are so nice! She made a suggestion and then made sure I liked it before I paid. Very eclectic little coffee shop, seemed like a good place to study. The specialty espressos are very tasty.
