The freshest locally sourced seafood. I brought fresh, salty, briny NC oysters and made an oven fried oyster Po Boy with spicy remoulade. The oysters were juicy, crunchy and delicious. Cant wait to get more!

This is the first review I have ever left.I have always loved this place, great seafood, been going there for years.Today we called and asked if they had any “Jimmies” their biggest crabs. They told us they had 2 dozen. We asked if they could sit them aside we were on the way. They said yes, asked for our name and we ended the call. We arrive 15 minutes later, they never sat them aside and they had 8 left, 2 of them dead. So they had 6 crabs left. Big difference than 2 dozen.I totally understand not setting things aside for someone and it being first come first serve. But we were told they were set aside.

Double check a weight. We bought 2 fish today. When we came back home I didnt believe that fish weight the same like we paid for and double checked it. Each fish at least pound less than we paid. I cant believe that fish offal of ONE small fish could be MORE than a pound.Great work!

Came here today 40 mins before they close to get oysters and the guy who helped us was awesome. As soon as I came in I knew it was gonna be fresh and good seafood. Cashier was also friendly. Would definitely come back and recommend to others!!!

Do not buy from here. My boyfriend and I were on a weekend vacation in Wilmington, drove by this place several times and talked about getting fresh oysters. After reading all the positive reviews we stopped by and bought 50 oysters. The girl “counting” our oysters was grabbing the oysters so fast and chucking them into the bag. I wondered how she knew how many oysters she was grabbing every handful. When we got home to count them ourselves we only had 37. Extremely disappointed to say the least.

This is my favorite seafood market in New Hanover county! Their prices are fair everything is always fresh and if there is any problems with quality they remedy the situation quickly. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus the majority of all their seafood is locally sourced supporting local fishermen. Also the farmers market outside is a great place to pick up what ever else you would need for you tasty meal! Oh and good prices on fresh live bait 👌. Hands down one of my favorite businesses in the area.

Fresh seafood and great service. Wonderfull selection of local seafood and they will dress the fish for you. Multiple shrimp choices and several clams types. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to coming back.

This is a must stop for us on the way to and from the beach. Offerings include fresh seafood, seasonings and tools. I recommend picking up the housemade crab dip and the cocktail sauce! Low on funds? Opt for fish bites or chunks at a fraction of the cost you will pay for filets. They arent as pretty but just as delicious.

They need To control there Flies along with the smell of bad fish, a attitude adjustment wouldn’t hurt either! My wife and son stop there for fresh fish but got attitude from the attendant and attacked by the flies covering there so called fresh produce! From what we seen it’s all smoke and mirrors, Flies Carry disease

Stopped in on the way back from Carolina Beach for the first time. They offer a lot of different fresh seafood, more than what is listed on the outside signs. Very clean and well organized. The displays are heavily packed with ice and neatly presented. Prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic. So friendly and helpful. We ended up buying clams, soft shell crabs and shrimp none of which were we disappointed with our purchase.

This is the real deal fresh seafood spot at Carolina Beach! Many types of fresh fish right off the boat! Crabs, shrimp, mussels, oysters all right out of the ocean or waterway. I bought grouper, tuna, and mussels and they were the best! Friendly staff and good prices. Ill be back.

Weve been going here for years! Always get the Carolina shrimp and blue crab on our way home from the beach. Last two times weve been overcharged and had to call it out. Thursday it was $58 for a $29 order. Couldnt get the cash register to correct so cash was given back. Not sure whats up, but sceptical now.

This place is great! They were roasting oysters outside when we got there and the samples were yummy. They werent ready when we arrived so they offered some raw to slurp -yummy! They spent a good deal of time teaching us to cook oyster clusters on the grill -they were a hit. we also got some class and mussels,w which were fresh and tasty. The shrimp was as good as it gets -fresh and plump. Wish I could shop there weekly and not live so far away!

Knowledgeable pleasant lady behind the counter & casual friendly atmosphere. Accessible to answer questions & collect order. Nice selection of fish with sufficient amounts. They will take care to prep fish as u request for ur convenience to take home (u have to season & cook). They had shrimp with or without heads, oysters in clusters or singles, clams, & muscles...really great experience. I saw some seasoning & oyster knives. Got one of their logo tees for gift. Ill go back again!

Stop there many times and they always greet you with a smile! Their seafood is the best and always fresh. Get it there because it tastes better and its not there for long. The prices are very good too!!

A nicely stocked business of local seafood. The staff is knowledgeable in the seafood they have in stock, so dont be afraid to ask! They can help you select the seafood if you are unsure of what you need, and are also knowledgeable on how to prepare and/or cook it.

Love this place! We stop here every year to get fresh seafood to cool for dinner. Theyre awesome with our kids - showing them all the live seafood.

Great service and price. I bought 2 bushels of oysters for less than anywhere else. They washed them for free.

Overall, the best seafood stop close to the island. Seafood is always fresh...unless its frozen 🙂. Oysters are predominantly farm-raised in their own estuary.

Visited for first time yesterday. Well stocked. The young lady that waited on me handled my business as I thought she should. The only thing I would say and not meaning it negative or hurtful to her at all was that she didnt go over board and again not wanting or expecting special attention but friendliness and asking customer to come back when knowing I had never been there before. They did have other customers but I would have thought she would have invited me back since I let it be known how impressed I was with what they carry there and etc. I did pick up brochures while there however. I think and its only my opinion that a customer should be told thank you for shopping with us and I hope you will come back again. Politeness goes a long ways with me because their are other good seafood stores in the area. I chose that one be cause I had stopped at produce stand and asked an young man working at produce stand about the seafood store next door and asked him something about the purchase I needed to make because I thought he would know more about what I wanted to purchase at the seafood store more than I would because my son usually does our seafood purchasing. I would still shop there however and I would rate it an A on quality of what I bought and freshness as much as I do know about because I do a little fishing. Service I would give still give not an A but an B which is not bad. You appear to have a good base of customers so that tells me your doing it right. I could have just come in at the wrong time...after the big storm. I am speaking of the terrencial rain storm as I call it. Hope you have a good weekend and 4th! Thank you for this opportunity to voice my opinion and mine only. Perhaps my next visit will be better. We all have our days and I dont let one little incident keep me from not coming back. Unfortunately I have to update my review. From a seafood perspective, expect to get fresh and good seafood. What I have to update my review on is the service. Once they got larger and less dependent on loyal customers, the service went south. We used to purchase from their pickup truck on the side of the road with a plywood sign that said crabs. Now its lots of young people who roll their eyes at you when you ask questions or make requests.The biggest issue I have had is the pre-order. I have been ordering large quantities of seafood every year for the 4th of July and in the beginning I would get what I ordered. The past 3 years, despite ordering well in advance ( a month or so), I have had an issue with the order each time. Getting progressively worse. I gave it 3 years, next year we will be ordering elsewhere.This past year was the worst as I went to call them after they didnt call me for pickup and sold all their seafood because they didnt take my order correctly with my phone number to call me. We went there to see what scraps they had left and they had the nerve to say to order in advance next time and we would be set. I did, a month ahead. The previous years, similar issues where they say they didnt have enough, even with picking up first thing in the morning. Which is it? I guess when you have enough business, your word isnt needed anymore.Having a home full of hungry people in the middle of the holiday didnt make me happy. Instead, we went down the road to the Bait Barge where the owners were delighted to have me. They packaged it up nicely, thanked me for my patronage and even helped me to my car with it.In summary, these guys have fresh seafood and for that I give the 2 stars because I cant give 2.5. The other stars are removed for service. Dont take pre-orders you cant fill, treat your customers better, train your staff to care a little more.

We were driving through Wilmington and I needed shrimp for this afternoons Christmas Eve meal: shrimp and grits. I got a great deal on wild caught NC shrimp, the service was quick and friendly, and the shrimp taste excellent!
