Lots of interesting goods. Smells like a shop in lower manhattan...
Has unique and authentic Asian ingredients. Allows expansion of the pallet or ensure dishes will come out as intended without the need for substitution or imitation.
Always a pleasant experience. the owner is very nice and had a great knowledge of what you need to make asian cuisine!
When he is actually open (whether on time or just in general), this is a nice little stop to get some basic Oriental necessities. The aisles are a bit small and no prices are marked. The man that runs the place is incredibly nice and helpful though. Occasionally he has issues keeping items in stock, but usually nothing too bad.Nothing too terrible, but nothing too great either. I wouldnt recommend a special trip here, since youre gambling as to whether or not he is open (dont pay attention to the Google hours, theres literally no hours signage on the door). But if youre nearby, see if hes open, cause its worth stopping in.Also, yes, the panhandlers are real.
The prices are great and the owner is a sweet man hes fair give the place a try youll love it
I love tbis place really friendly and will help find whatever you are looking for and they have the best prices
CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! This guy is a crook. I spent $10 and was charged $110 to my card. This is not the first time he has done this. I called him out before. Next time I’ll report him to the Better Business Bureau.
Wonderful variety of Asian food you cant find anywhere else.
Stopped here out of convenience.Decently stocked, they also have fresh vegetables etc. Some of the vegetables not very fresh. Sprouts were brown and lemongrass was turning brown. Lots of the shelve items still in shipping boxes on the shelves or sitting on the floor with the top cut open for customers to access. They do stock allot of the Vietnamese items we were looking for and we made a $100+ purchase. But - I dont see us coming back or making a special trip to shop here again.Owner doesnt seem very motivated to organize items, unpack from boxes or price everything.I know this store has been in business for a long time maybe its just a hobby now.
Well stocked. Mask requirement on door is observed mostly on the breach. Lots of customers,a sign of something.
It was my first time at this store the man was very friendly he explained things to me very well. Ill be going back to actually buy something this time
The owner is literally the nicest man I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He explains everything well and has no problem answering questions!
Was underwhelmed at first by the small size of the store but quickly became a fan! Store is packed with goods..owner was very helpful! Our daughters cook Chinese food often so were going to be regulars!
I like the store. The person that manages it might come off as a bit stern, but does well. There always seems to be panhandlers waiting on the benches outside.
Like to buy stuff you cant find in normal grocery store
Always can depend on the foods, frozen or fresh, especially the sauces and dried goods. However, since coronavirus, a lot of the selections have become limited since China is the main import food source. Despite this obstacle, the owner tries to get replacement foods from California and New York. Reasonable prices and convenient location are important. Going out of the way to shop at Greensboro or Raleigh is too much of a trek. Highly recommend this place!
A great place to get most of your Asian grocery and ingredients and they also have a wide variety of Asian noodles and the owner is always super friendly and helpful 😀
Friendly staff with fair prices
Great selection and prices. Great customer service!
Its! A Whole Different Way Of Shopping
A strange variety and the owner is nice
This dude got all that good stuff... or at least most of it! Ask him what you need when you walk in and he will probably have it.
Wife is Asian and she likes it that is why I shop there.
Wow! I am amazed at the wide array of choices in this store. I never knew there were so many different kinds of rice. Lots of unique Asian products here. If you are searching for a new adventure in cooking Asian foods, you should definitely browse this store. I have new foods to try at home from my shopping trip. Great customer service.
Good selection, best in Winston and saves a drive out to Super G in greensboro
The gentleman that runs/owns this little store is always so very kind & helpful. This shop is open everyday & it is packed w/ a variety of affordable items [& its not all food)...several of which Ive never heard of, never eaten & certainly wouldnt know where else 2 buy them such as: noodles, utensils, rice, oxtail, chicken feet, tripe, ginger root, bean sprouts, lycheese, persimmons, tapioca pearls, matcha, seaweed, condiments, spices, wasabi flavored snacks, cigarettes, movies, etc. Also, he accepts SNAP EBT, as well. Go check out this cool little store on Peters Creek Parkway right beside Mayflower Restaurant!
Great place pick up items to cook asian cuisine. It is nice to have one with a wide selection if you dont have to time to drive to Greensboro to the larger Asian food stores. The only suggestion would be to have prices labeled on the goods being sold. Great place thats been in Winston-Salem for years. Check them out if you havent yet!
The selection is fine but honestly, the cashier is rude. I have colored hair and I could tell he made a comment about it because the person he was talking to turned around, looked at me, and laughed. I didn’t appreciate it so I won’t be returning.
Was able to find a lot of the items we carry back un Guam 🇬🇺
They have about anything Asian products
This tiny store has a wonderful array of oriental foods, I would love to try everything. Sadly I dont know what most of it is. The reason for 4 stars, they young man who was running the place was not very helpful. Love the store, but know what you need before you walk in.
The store is small, but it is AMAZING how many items it has, and given the fact you do not see dust it seems that they are sold.I give 4 stars because there is no price in the items, but if you ask, the owner answers.I was going to buy a few products no matter what prices they were, but after seeing how much I payed I figured out that it is very convenient, price wise.
This place is like something out of a movie! Its a small shop, friendly owner, attached to a martial arts gym. Perfect. Great selection! We literally find everything we need here and more! We FINALLY found Thai tea here to brew at home. Pocky, noodles, tea. Great place for it all!
Store stinks. Cluttered and hard to find things. Dont recommend shopping here
Cool place to shop for oddities
I dont know if this is my luck or they dont take the business seriously. I came here second times and both times they closed. The Google search said they are open. 😖😖 I wasting my time for almost 1 hour to find out that they closed.
This place was awesome! Tons of variety and decent prices. I just got home from a trip to Japan and this place had many of the items that I loved while I was there. I cant wait to incorporate more authentic Asian food into my daily meals!
We found what we needed, but we thought they were going to open up at 10. Waited there until 1025 and then left. Came back at 1045 and store was opening up. Once in the store did have all we needed to make authentic pho at home.
It smelled very bad inside. Small store so it was very cramped. Also I had never been there before. I asked the cashier for help to find what I was looking for. & he laughed at me cause I couldnt follow his directions. & he said that i didnt know what i was looking for. I will never go back.
Its the only place in town you can get authentic Asian items. Most of nothing is priced and the neighborhood is very dangerous. Theres no organization in the store.
Love, love, love this place. There are so many items there to try and there is so much to learn about. They offer different Asian ingredients which comes in handy. Not a huge place, but the shelves are almost always packed.
I was surprised at the variety of organic noodles that they have. Reasonable prices for the organic noodles as well, around $4.50 for the organic lo mein noodles. Theyre is always something interesting to try.
They have a great, and fresh selection. If you need any help finding something then feel free too ask, very helpful. If you arent looking for anything in particular then youll know that there are plenty of great things to see in the store. Ive been going there for years and still find things I didnt know they had sometimes! Would suggest stopping by if youre in the area.
They guy was very helpful MY FIRST VISIT. I SUSPECT BECAUSE I SPENT $85. WHEN I RETURNED THE NEXT DAY TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT EXPIRATION DATES AND MY PURCHASES( BECAUSE HE COLLECTED ALL MY GROCERIES AND I FORGOT WHAT WAS WHAT); HE WAS IRATE, MEAN AND NASTY. HE YELLED AND SCREAMED AT ME For 15 minutes. STATED IN NOT GOING TO TEACH YOU ABCS. I CALMLY ASKED HIM NOT TO YELL, TO NO AVAIL. He CONTINUED HIS TIRADE. I WILL NOT RETURN. STAY AWAY!!!! Please dont spend your money there!¡!
I love this grocery store and I have not been able to find out current hours since Covid changes. Can anyone tell me how this business is handling current situation?
Its excellent for all kinds of Asian spices and needs. Of course some stuff not available but its close by and the owner is friendly. Lets support our small business owners to keep them in business close to home.
I have been shopping at this little store for over 9 years now. It is the BEST little Asian store in our area, super good prices, authentic merchandise, helpful and hilarious owner. If you are familiar with their cuisine or just curious to try something different than you have got to stop here, you wont be disappointed!Ive noticed a few reviews commenting that its cramped and disorganized....part of the enjoyment in shopping there is it literally is like being in a market overseas, not walmart lol I shop at Compare foods as well and their store is similar to a Mexican market. I think people believe walking into a specialty store should be run of the mill like Harris teeter, why would anyone want half an experience?! Also, should he, the owner, not work there 7 days a week as the only employee than those great prices we like so much would go through the roof!
Friendly, knowledgeable service.
Great selection of Ramen from Thailand, Korea, Japan and Singapore. They have Pho meatballs too! Several selections of rice that are more natural and not enriched.
Open, but nobody there. Store locked with open sign on. no one answering the phone.we drove a half an hour to get there.
Always a great place to shop for your Asian food needs very friendly owner we love going there
Nothing had prices on it but what we did purchase was very reasonable in cost. My major issue is we only purchased two items. Yet looking at the receipt we were charged for 4 items. I dont know if maybe we were accidentally charged for the lady in front of us or if this was a, theyll never notice type of thing since it was only $1.49 charged twice. Had it not been for that I definitely would have been going back to get all my items I cant find at the larger stores. Id rather drive to Greensboro and go to Super G. They actually price items and they dont charge you for stuff you didnt buy.
Excellent staff here. They are always helpful when I need help looking for items as this location, the shelves can be scattered all over. Staff also keeps the check outline moving at a brisk pace.
Very small store inside with a lot of products. Not everything is in English which makes it hard to know what you are buying. Not everything has a price on the product but the owner speaks English fairly decent to ask. Good variety of products but the isles are very small. You can get a variety of seafood in the back if you can trust they are following fda standards. Somewhat clean inside, could use more space so the customer wont trip over boxes on the end caps.
The owner is always so friendly. If he doesnt have it, you can just wait for it.
A great selection and a very unique atmosphere that just screams small business. You can find anything from mochi ice cream to fresh herbs and ingredients, hard to find elsewhere. The selection of ramen is to die for!Completely unrivaled by any of the other Asian Markets around!
I was making homemade ramen noodles, and this store had everything I needed for it. The Owner was really nice and helpful; he helped me pick out the noodles that I would need. Definitely going back!
I love to cook and love Asian food this has everything Asian ingredients and food items you need
Really enjoyed the market, such a huge variety of items and reasonably priced. Only complaints is hardly anything is priced and men outside drinking beer.
Funny guy that owns this store. Fresh vegetables every Thursday. Its where I buy my rice and noodles. Great selection of spices and teas. Now he has to discard all the expired merchs on his shelves. He accepts EBT and sells beer.
It has a big variety of Asian products but...a few are dated. I brought it to the attention of attendant. He acknowledged such. I will go back
Complete stock of Asian items. However, never opens as stated. 30 minutes to an hour late most of the times I have come to shop.
Prices are not posted, arrangement is cluttered and disorganized. I think this is about the best Asian market in town at this time. It does carry some items that Compare Foods does not.The old guys sitting out on the bench provide atmosphere.
Great selection of Asian foods. A little crowded as far as space, but, very good. Very friendly staff.
Very clean
Asian grocery small and packed with good stuff. Got. Some cooking wine and some maturevinegar and jasmine tea. love this place
Great place to shop
My wife and I went to this place today around 7pm Sunday. The owner was very nice.. We also found what we needed. Highly recommend it
I love it.... And miss my Kyonga sooooo bad. Love Korean food. Dont get to Gboro like I use to. Mine is just as good
Clerk is helpful & patrons outside are very friendly.
Great place to pick up unique Asian ingredients. The prices are much more reasonable than conventional grocery stores.
Small and cramped, but chock full delightful asian delights. Korean, Japanese, vietnamese, chinese, even curry powders. Nice selection if unusual produce items. The guy that runs the place can help you find what you need. Prices are great.
Neat little store with great selection of products. Extremely friendly owner.
Of course no price stickers, youre just told the price at checkout, or when you ask. Unorganized and limited options available, it seems over rated on Google reviews for some reason. Ive seen some other Asian stores that are awesome, not this one. Still okay but not great, just my opinion.
I found EVERYTHING I was looking for there. Everything that Id ordered from the internet (mochi, spicy noodles, yakisoba sauce etc.) Was 3X cheaper here than Amazon.
You can find authentic produce at great prices
Dont bother, Head to Greensboro for a large selection of big international stores, like:Super G mart.Fanta city international mall.Li ming global mart.Korea market.Go->Go->japan(new japanese specialty store)And bangkok market..And thats just the south east asian stores. Not to mention all the hindu markets.Do not waste your money.
Great selection. Way better prices than Amazon!
Its amazing how many asian products they have in there. Its worth a trip just to see what they offer.
Wish prices were clearly marked. Fortunately, clerk is helpful and can tell you prices
I see the reviews about this place being overpacked and cluttered, and it is. But that means he has a HUGE assortment of things to choose from for wtv you may need. Hes very knowledgeable and kind if you take the time to ask him things. I have to drive almost an hour for an Asian grocery, and Id rather go to this one, than compare mart, which is huge and organized.
They have a variety of food .speedy check out.
The owner is so accomodating for suggestions so we can get asian items that we wanted.
Go to Super G in Greensboro, its worth the drive. This place is disgusting, with no selection and a complete dump.
I found everything I was looking for at reasonable prices. This store is a jewel!
Where we go for rice noodles and all sorts of soy sauce.
Friendly owner and they had what my wife needed for her Asian cuisine.
My son loves going here. He could live here if theyd let him..lol
Tiny. selection okay, staff is disinterested did not feel comfortable.
When shopping for that special dish. This is where you will find all of the ingredients that you will need to make the dish authentic.
This place is a little run down and some items are usually out of date but there are not many Asian grocery stores in the triad. This place is small but they will have most of the essential items for Asian cooking that you can’t usually find in American supermarkets.
Super helpful, unfortunately they didnt have all we needed.
Awesome hidden gem with every Asian staple one could need!!
I love this place, but nothing is priced and the receipt doesnt identify the items. My last visit seemed pricier than in the past.
Everything I need. Small shop but well stocked. Prices are alright.
Great place. Great service. I love the products
Its a pretty good place I will say it is very small though
Didnt have thai holy basil, but had tons and tons of other cool stuff.
Good prices and selection
