My experience with modern Toyota was great! They did everything over the phone and actually lowered my term and interest rate. I live an hour a way and they delivered the car to me on my lunch break. Ive been wanting a Toyota Tacoma for a while and a few of my friends have purchased from Modern Toyota previously so I looked at their online inventory and put in an inquiry. Marshall Brown helped walk me through using the website to submit my trade-in information, credit app, etc. so that when I went to the dealership it would save some time. When I arrived at the dealership, GSM Ricky Irby introduced me to the sales person I would be working with, Wes Wheeler. These gentlemen worked together to get the best rate and trade-in pricing for my new 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The truck is set to be delivered next week and Wes has communicated with me to set the proper expectations. Not only am I excited to get my new truck, but Im also excited to know that Modern Toyota is a reliable and trustworthy dealership.

I’ll give them two stars cause they helped me and then ghosted me. Took my car there to sell after an offer was received at another dealership. Chad was pretty straightforward in telling me that the other dealership (Volvo) would give me more for an outright sell and if I wanted to purchase to call him. On this I say that was a pretty decent thing to do as it was honest and no hassle and the right thing for a salesperson to do. No issues standard stuff.THE NEXT DAY!I sell my car to Volvo and hit up Chad for some questions about inventory. He responds and says he will check them out. I do a follow up text a few hours later and Chad states “ Looking into it now. Think they are going through service. It will be a few days if so. Texting the manager about them now.”Then you guessed it… cricket’s. I follow up and ask if there is any update and nothing. Fast foreword a little bit. I give benefit of the doubt that cars in service going into Labor Day Weekend. I call the dealership and I explain that I’m looking for a car and was informed that it was sold.Nothing against the dealership and with it being sales, I’m not mad the car sold and I didn’t get it. It’s business and I’ve worked sales before so I know it’s a roll of the dice. However, being ghosted with no follow-up on questions, additional help or anything? Like if the car sold that’s fine you can tell me but nothing at all? That’s bad business.Can’t speak on the dealer as a whole but I can say avoid chad and I took my business elsewhere as a precaution.
The staff are excellent, came in for my 5,000 mile tire rotation, fluids etc was waiting in waiting area service guy came out to let me know my car was getting done asked if I needed anything showed me where the complementary water and drinks were. Didn’t have to wait a long time from the time I arrived for my appointment. Exceptional service.
Came in to get my 25,000 mile check. Had a few lights to come on and they completed a diagnostic. Found nothing but made me feel better. Kept me informed while I was waiting. I dont normally leave reviews, but Modern Toyotas exceptional customer service deserves praise! I began driving here from Greensboro after purchasing a new Toyota and receiving a warranty on service, but I started to also bring my older Toyota since the service was so good. I normally ask for Dwayne because hes friendly, honest about what service is needed, and gets stuff done--he sets the bar high for customer service! Rob A. assisted me this time and he did not disappoint. He immediately asked me if I needed a rental car. I declined and decided to wait for what he estimated would be 2 hours. He had everything done in 1 1/2 hours. Thats what great service is about: over-estimating and out-performing. The coffee bar was a great treat, too! Amy R. is a great, no-pressure salesperson here if youre looking to purchase.
Recently, I called the service department at Modern to make an appointment for my Tacoma. The gentleman that I spoke with adamantly stated that my truck had never been serviced at Modern Toyota. However, not only has it been serviced there, I purchased it there. I went online entered the same info. and made the appointment. Im not saying the young man is a bad person, but he does need customer service skills.

Pretty torn about this place. We bought our car here a couple years ago (via the Costco program). The experience was fine - no pressure and we got exactly what we wanted for a reasonable price (probably because of the Costco program). Since then I have used them for service. I recently came for a 25k mile service (tire rotation) and requested the “express service” that was advertised in a mailer. Unfortunately, when I arrived, they told me express wasn’t available since they were on lunch break. It was a little inconvenient so I took the free shuttle service home (it was quick and the driver was great).I’d say it’s about average for a dealership and for a service center. Once my free service is up I’ll probably find a local place to keep the car up cause the prices are a bit steep for my wallet.I’d buy a car here again, but will probably always use the Costco program… it was zero pressure.
I love this dealership! If youre going to wait for your car to get serviced, this is the place to do it. They have a keurig with lots of coffee and tea options, which I appreciate. They have free refrigerated water, coke, and diet coke. They have vending machines and bathrooms nearby. They have two TVs. The chairs are spaced out to promote social distancing. Everyone is masked, and they provide masks if you dont have one.
Service was excellent. I was in and out within an hour. I am funny about my vehicle and it was well taken care of. Facility is immaculate. I will definitely return.
Spoke to a sales person on the phone that was so friendly and eager to help us find the new vehicle that we were searching for. We went to the dealership to look at a vehicle and it all went down hill. Enter and no one greeted us even though at least 3 people were in the corner desk talking to each other and even looked our way. Eventually a sales women walked by and asked if we were being helped.The sales women did not seem friendly or eager and had the attitude of every car we get sales fast so do you want to try to get one or not. After they valued our trade she was like the only reason youre even getting that is our lot is almost empty.Went to another dealership the next day. Was offered 3k more for the trade so we decided to order a vehicle with them even though they said it can be up to 30 days to get. The day after that they called and said they can get one the next day. It was so night and day between the two dealerships and now we our enjoying our new ride.
First time using this dealer. Drop off was a breeze, I did not wait for the service, but had to hang around for 10 minutes waiting to collect my car before anyone even acknowledged my presence.The service tech was great. Texted me on progress and called about an issue that needed addressing.All in all a good experience.

We recently bought a car from Modern Toyota in July. Easy sale for them because they happened to have the car we wanted and we were eager to purchase before it was sold. They were very accommodating throughout the sales process. I went up and test drove the vehicle and my husband was in constant contact with the salesman until the deal was done. That’s where they get one star. 5 days later our new car won’t start. My husband calls the dealership and is transferred to various different voicemails. Texts the salesman, no response. No phone calls back from anyone. He finally gets a hold of someone after trying multiple times who says we can pay to have it towed there but if it’s a battery issue, it’s not covered. So to save us from $300 in towing costs not knowing what it could be…my husband gets a new battery to try and it happens to to work and the car starts. Two days ago, we had the same issue. Car won’t start. It hasn’t even been 90 days. It’s not the battery and the the dealership is absolutely useless when called for help. They don’t seem to know anything nor do they care. They just transfer you to various people’s voicemails who never respond. So now we have an expensive driveway ornament sitting in our driveway which was suppose to be our new reliable vehicle for our growing family. I am livid!!! They will cater to you in the sales process but once those contracts are signed, that’s where it ends. I’d take your money elsewhere. We had a great experience with Flow in Winston Salem with our previous car. They went above and beyond before and after. This dealership should be ashamed!Update: As of 11/3/21 still have not had one person return our phone calls and our car has now been undrivable for over a month. Mechanics have been unable to fix the issue and Modern Toyota will not address and continue to ignore . We have messages to the general manager and owner….nothing!
Drove 40 minutes to look at a vehicle that 2 different staff members said was there, on the lot....This vehicle was not there like they said. When you lie to someone, just send out another sales person to take care of it. ..At least, thats what They did. They alsolost a cash sell, and I wont be referring anyone to Modern Toyota. I WILL forward these emails up the administrative chain. I know, ... Modern Toyota doesnt care anyway...

Great experience at Modern Toyota. Husband and I was in search of a commercial van for our business. Modern Toyota did a great job! They pulled the requested vehicle and provided the specs so that we could confirm it whether it would work.We drove about an hour to the dealership and the vehicle was ready for us to inspect and test drive once we pulled in. Awesome customer service. The wait time was not very long. We were offered bottled water and soda while waiting.Waiting area had several TVs and nice chairs.Overall good experience!

Went to the dealership on 7/13 with the intent to test drive two cars and make a purchase. Arrived, walked around to the 2 cars I was interested in. We saw two Modern employees talking with another couple near where we were. Nobody ever approached us, made eye contact or anything. So - I understand there is a car shortage, but I guess the dealership has no desire to sell what is on their lot. This dealership will email and call you like crazy if you show interest online, but when you go in person they do not want to work.
I will never go anywhere but here to purchase cars and get them serviced. I can’t say enough about how great their customer service is. I HIGHLY recommend working with Gopaul if you are looking for a new vehicle. I purchased my 4Runner from him and he made the process incredibly easy. Took my car in for an oil change, tire rotation, and a brake fluid change. I was a little curious last time they rotated my tires if they actually did them so this time I intentionally deflated one of my tires just a bit, after the service was done I checked and that tire was still in the exact same spot. If they didnt do something as simple as a tire rotation when i brought it in I am very skeptical that they did any of the other things I have brought it in there for...

Modern Toyota sold me a used 2019 Rav4 that turned out to have a cracked fuel pump...the check engine light actually came on during the initial drive home from the dealership, which disabled the cruise control. I alerted Modern Toyota of the problem and they paid to have the fuel pump replaced--$455--no questions asked. I imagine some less scrupulous dealerships would have shifted blame or balked at paying for the repair, but Modern Toyota took care of it immediately. I appreciate them for that. Highly recommended.
I always get both our cars serviced at Modern Toyota. I bought them here and they have continued to take care of them so well every 5,000 miles. The waiting room is comfortable and full of amenities as well.
Modern Toyota help me when I was in a pickle with a ford that was hit with a deer, the insurance fixed the body work but the car sat due to the COVID-19 lock down and the day it was lifted the car wouldnt run and the insurance would not honor their part. It was due to one electronic part. Moderrn Toyota knew what was wrong and accepted the trade in for a good price and put me in my Tacoma. The service and service plan is great. The people in the back work really hard. I had been with Ford for over 40 years but no more. Thank you Modern you have a customer for life.
I purchased my 2019 Toyota Highlander from Modern Toyota and it was the best buying I experience I have ever encountered in purchasing a vehicle and I continue to bring my vehicle to Modern for all my service needs whether it is routine maintenance or repairs. Winston-Salem Modern Toyota had the best price on a radiator for my 80 series Land Cruiser. I didnt mind driving 3 hours round trip to pick it up. Still cheaper overall than what my local Toyota dealers had it priced for.

My wife and I recently purchased a 2021 Toyota Highlander from Modern Toyota, Winston-Salem. The selection of vehicles was excellent. Although the vehicle we purchased was already on its way to the dealership, we were able to see and test drive like vehicles on the lot so that we fully understood what we were purchasing. I specifically want to recognize Sales Consultant Mom Garner. She did an outstanding job for us. She was very personable and knowledgeable about the vehicles. She thoroughly explained the buying process and answered all of our questions. She also thoroughly did a physical review of all vehicle controls, and aided us in getting the vehicle operation apps set up and activated including the pairing of my phone before we left the dealership. Although I am a bit tech savvy, with all the technology on this vehicle this was invaluable for us for our safe operation on the road. I also want to recognize Kevin Hecht who guided us through the purchase and financing process. He is also very knowledgeable. He went the extra measure to ensure we understood what we were signing. Modern Toyota has a great purchasing process, and the layout of the dealership is very customer friendly. Although were in Summerfield, I was familiar with the dealership as I have brought my Father-in Laws vehicle in for services. And in that area their work was outstanding as well. We’ve now bought two cars from Modern. Most recently a 2021 Highlander. Our Sales Consultant, Jose Lopez, was fantastic. He treated us with respect (no games), kindness, humor, and best of all, he listened. We shopped around at another local Toyota dealership to compare price offers and our sales consultant there was your stereotypical brand in that we left feeling unheard and held hostage (he kept my keys for my trade-in and I had to ask for them back when it was apparent we were out!). So we went back to Modern and continued work with Jose and landed where we felt comfortable and heard. We love Modern’s service department as well, they’re always quick and straightforward. Thank you, Jose, for the recent experience, we love the new car! We’ll be back.

At first everything was fine, we traded in our old vehicle, transferred tags, and after the new car arrived took delivery. Fast forward three weeks we got a new plate in the mail, indicating the dealership actually issued paperwork for a brand new tag.Before signing paperwork, the finance manager, Brad McAdams, personally called me to make sure the tags would be transferred, yet he did the exact opposite. After receiving the new tag we also got a new bill for registration, which made us incur higher costs as compared to the original promised transfer. I finally had a chance to speak with Brad, who contacted us 3 days after our continued outreach to the dealership. Brad, in an unapologetic tone, told us there was nothing he could do and it was my job to sort the rest with the DMV.The greatest shock came when the DMV said I was driving around three weeks with invalid registration. I called Modern Toyota multiple times and was consistently transitioned to a voice mail or to a manager who simply did not care. The dealership has yet to reimburse me for the extra costs that I have incurred. Furthermore, they made it seem like it was my fault. When a dealership issues new tags, its their job to give you a temporary paper plate till the real one arrives. Modern Toyota did not give that either. Had they given us the temporary paper plate we never would have singed paperwork, and a new tag would have never been issued. What I find ironic is that they didnt transfer registration, yet they did transfer insurance. As a result of the insurance transfer, I had an insurance lapse on my name as I turned in my original plate after insurance on it was terminated. It was my responsibility to work with the DMV to get that issue resolved.After multiple trips to DMV, countless phone calls to Modern Toyota, and calls with the property tax department, I still have not been reimbursed for my time and money. Id like to note that this is the 5th car weve bought from this dealership. Each purchase before was smooth and seamless, but one slight hitch and they have refused to resolve their mistake. This is no way to show customer loyalty.To add on I have taken out countless hours of my college education only to guess when management will call me back. If you want to buy a car from Modern Toyota, go ahead but if you need any customer support expect none. Absolutely frustrated.
They really take pride in their business for sure. They were gracious, attentive, and very helpful. Sitting and waiting on my truck, they even came by to offer a snack. I will definitely go to them if need be
Dishonest and fake customer service.When I first bought my used vehicle from Modern, it needed a bit of work done which they promised to take care of and have ready within “the next 3 days at the most”. Nearly two weeks and many phone calls later they let me have the vehicle “until the parts came in”. (It needed a new headlight and a piece on one of the seats) After having it for a few weeks, they let me know that the headlight had come in so I could schedule an appointment to get that taken care of and when the seat piece came in, they would fix it on a later date. The appointment was scheduled for 12:00pm and I was told it would take “90 minutes to 2 hours at the most”. After 3 hours had passed, I went to the front desk to ask about the status of my vehicle. The lady then directed me to the “Concierge Desk”. No one was at the desk, so I stood there and waited until they finally showed up. I let her know that I was wondering what the status of my vehicle was and she began looking it up in the system. After finding it, she left me to go talk to the service advisor to see how much longer it would be. About 10 minutes later, she came back and informed me that they thought I left, so they didn’t start the work on time and that she would have to wait and see how long the service advisor thought it would take. After a few more minutes, the service advisor came out to me and informed me that the seat piece had also come in and if i wanted to wait another hour, they would install that as well. Overall, I am not so much disappointed by the extra 2 hour wait (as I understand that businesses have confusion and get busy), but am highly disappointed with the lack of communication and continuous over-promising and under-delivering.If anyone is considering business with Modern Toyota, I would recommend that they first understand that there’s is a good chance that when it comes to timing and procedures, Modern Toyota will sugar coat everything and almost definitely take longer than they promise on any given service.

Today I have the pleasure to meet Nancy! While waiting for someone to help me, Ms. Nancy walked up and was glad answer all my questions and help with my toddler as well. I had my heart set on one particular car and was disappointed once sitting inside. It just did not feel like me. Nancy show me another car I haven’t even thought about purchasing, just like that I was in love. I purchased my car and was very pleased. My toddler also made a new best friend! Thank you modern Toyota for seeing the kind spirit in Nancy when you hired her.
The service was excellent, they had complementary drinks and provided a pleasant place to wait as my vehicle was being oil changed.

I had my complimentary service on my car today . The gentleman explained everything they would be checking for, then he escorted me to the waiting area. He also informed me of the time frame for the service. The staff was very friendly and impressive. I will continue to go there for services.

Having never purchased a vehicle out of state I was quite skeptical about purchasing. I must say, this has been the easiest and most enjoyable car purchase I have ever made. It started with Allison with the initial negotiation and then transferred over to Justin to complete the sale. They were awesome with responsiveness, gave me top dollar for my trade and made it super easy to say yes. They beat every local competitor in my area on the new car and the trade.They even offered to deliver 200+ miles to my home to save me having to take time off work to drive from VA to NC. I can’t thank them enough for their help and making this process extremely enjoyable which is not usual for purchasing a car.While I probably won’t utilize your dealership for service given the location, but when my wife’s Highlander lease is up later this year we will absolutely purchase/lease our next Toyota from Modern Toyota!

Got my 2021 prius from here, and the entire process was super easy and quick. They did their best to get everything adjusted to how I needed it to be.They are also my go to when it comes to any service visits like oil changes and stuff, mine as well get the people with some of the best stuff to work on your new car.
Called service explaining I had just been told my tires are sleek and must buy new set. I tried calling since 1:30 pm and put on hold for 6 minutes once with no one answering.I was told by Ginger that they were too booked and they may not even have my size of tires. I clarified that they could not work me in to buy a new set of tires and she stated that was correct.I called Vann York. Guys looked up my tire sized and reviewed the types of tires and cost. So as I was driving in I chose the tires I wanted and he pulled them. What service.Will be changing to Vann York.
I bought my car here 5 years ago, and decided to have it serviced with them every 3 months since. The service department is really my favorite in town! I always feel like they are honest and have my best interests in mind, in terms of quality & financial. If I say Im on a budget they work with me- okay maybe this or that you can go another __ miles... for example. One time there was a solar eclipse happening while my car was being serviced and the team let me look through theyre scope so I could see it and not burn my retinas. I mean, the friendliness alone has won my loyalty, but beyond that their professionalism and quality of service is highly recommended. Go here.
