Robert Brandt of Fast Signs Winston Salem appeared to be knowledgeable with sign installation and he came recommended to me by another business owner. It took several weeks to get the signs as he was continually busy but that was understandable. The front sign was acceptable as well as the sign on the building.The issue came with the installation of the vinyl logo on my interior wall. Robert sent out a 21 year old new employee that apparently was not versed in how to install a vinyl logo on a sheetrock interior wall. A propane torch was used to apply the logo resulting in damage to the logo. Then the employee attempted to clean the logo using rubbing alcohol and towels. The result was damage to the painted wall surface. The wall had to be professionally repainted as the touch up to the area was not sufficient as the paint did not match up to the existing paint on the wall.Another sign company was hired to install a logo. Robert was contacted and the following is his reply to the request for reimbursement of the expense (documented with an invoice from the painter) to repaint the wall due to his employees actions. I did not feel comfortable allowing Fast Signs back into my business as damage had already been done and I did not feel confident that they could remedy the issue. They are not painters.In fairness to Robert here is his reply to my request for reimbursement for the money I had to pay to have a painter repaint the wall. The painter attempted to cover only the section damaged but the match up of the paint was visible to the naked eye.Robert Brandts email reply:Here are the facts I believe are pertinent:At least twice, and probably three times during my visit Thursday, I offered to touch up the paint everywhere we had left it discolored. (I have never experienced less than a good blend-in of latex paint onto a wall painted as recently as you reported, and believe that none of your visitors would ever notice the touch-ups.)Each time I repeated the offer to remedy the bad paint areas, you immediately and firmly responded that you would remedy the re-painting need to meet your personal standards.The paint can you showed me prominently advertised “special resin” additives, which presumable are patented and unique to that brand. Neither you nor I can know whether those unique resin additives were still releasing volatiles below our vinyl, repulsing the adhesive and causing the problem of poor adhesion my signmaker was attempting to address.(The paint he is referring to is Benjamin Moore Premium paint purchased at a paint store).My product and service warranties are identical to every other manufacturer’s warranty terms I have ever examined in that they provide only for replacement for the product and labor purchased by the client.You had requested we make and install the wall logo, and I am deeply sorry we were unable to do so in only one attempt to your satisfaction, though I am confident that if you had allowed us to touch up the paint, reprint and re-install the logo, we succeed in a second attempt.When clients request we install materials onto their surfaces, they also assume some risks inherent to that request beyond the replacement of the products and labor purchased from us.I believe that the large expense I incurred in making, installing, and then immediately removing the discolored logo for you, while also releasing you for your “firm & billable when placed” order, and also immediately refunding your deposit meets my obligations on your cancelled purchase.Robert refused to make right the additional expense I incurred to paint the wall to fix his employees actions that caused the damage. He did refund my deposit for the logo even though he said he was not required to do so.

FASTSIGNS did a fantastic job on creating and printing 2 big banners for me within a very short time frame. I gave them the order late on Monday and picked them up on Friday. I had an unusual design for decals to be installed on my car used in my small animal house call practice, and the owner of FastSigns went out of his way to format the words, etc. in such a way to use the least amount of vinyl--saving me a lot of money. I visited the W-Salem location about 3 weeks ago on my lunch hour. Upon arrival I stood in the lobby approximately 3-5 minutes without seeing a soul. Then I went into the back shouting and finally two men emerged from the back lot. I was wanting to purchase an aluminum sign I had viewed on the website. The guy could not have bee less helpful. When I ask him what sizes they came in and if there was a book I could look in he said they did not make them in house and he really did not know. What do you want he replied. He got out a yard stick. After trying to pin him down to some serious questions I ask him to get me a quote and he told me it would be 2-3 days. At the end of the 3rd day I called him and he said he had not heard a thing, might even be 5-7 days. I have been in Sales for over 30 years and this guy was not helpful at all. I had told him i was trying to make a Oct 8 deadline. About 2 days later I got an email stating he had not got an estimate so he was gonna forget about it since the time frame was too late. I replied back and said I still want an estimate please. I am still waiting for a reply. These customer reviews must have been when another employee worked there. Certainly not this guy. Poor service! I went to competitor and have my sign .

Poor customer service. Sign promised on Tuesday. I was unable to get there until Wednesday at noon. Sign was not ready. The manager was unconcerned and blamed the delay on short staff. Yet he was sitting in his office playing on his cell phone. It appears he does not have the skills or the motivation to complete jobs while his staff is out. Not fast and no sign. Took my business elsewhere.
