Since moving to Winston-Salem we have had nothing but bad experiences and bad luck with contractors. This was until we contracted out Carolina Garage Door for a garage door replacement/service. This was the best company we have ever hired and would do it again a million times. Greg is extremely friendly, the service techs who came out were nice, friendly, and personable. We called on Wednesday to have someone come look at our garage door. Greg came out Thursday, and then on Friday a team came out with the replacement and installation. This is the BEST company we have ever worked with. I 110% recommend them to anyone!!

An excellent experience all around. Carolina Garage Door replaced an old, wood garage door with an insulated steel door. It was a difficult situation with low clearances and an uneven floor, but the technicians did a fantastic job. The door looks and functions great! We are very happy with our Carolina Garage Door experience from start to finish.

Great experience having my garage door replaced. They were courteous and consistent. I picked it out online, they installed it, and hauled the old one + tracks away. It was a great value for the money. It is super quiet and a huge improvement over my old wooden garage door. Much easier and better than dealing with the big box stores !

They did a good job, and did it fast. There was a slightly non-standard configuration in my garage, but it didnt bother them at all. Greg stood in my garage and ciphered on it for a few minutes, and came up with a good plan that was far superior to what was there before.

Talked with Carolina around 9am and they were repairing my garage doors by 2pm. Service technician was excellent. Wow, What a great experience.

I called to get a quote on a new garage door on a house I am purchasing, as the old one was damaged by a faulty installation. I made an appointment and the technician was supposed to call when he was on the way so my realtor could meet us there so he could get into the garage and see what the problems were. He neglected to call, sent a text instead, which I didnt hear had arrived. He then called from the house and said he could provide a quote without getting into the garage and seeing the backside of the door and what the problems were. There is no way he could have given an accurate quote without getting into the garage, and I wasnt there so I could look at it with him and ask questions. He gave me a quote for one of the most expensive doors he could sell me. Fortunately, I received quotes from a couple of other companies and his quote was over 50% higher than the next highest quote. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere and wont be doing any future business with Carolina Garage Door.

They came out fast. They fixed the issue. The owner is a nice guy. Will use them again.

Prior to this I would have given this outfit a 4 star review (not 5 stars because they are a little pricey) but typically been good service. I had already had them replace torsion springs at our prior house twice across 7 years, and then in late 2017 a 3rd visit by them here at our new home. Both sets at our old house lasted a good long time. This set they put in our new house broke only 2+ years after being installed. I called and told the guy who answered the phone my last name (it is very unusual around here) and he pulled us up and said he could have someone out same day between 3 and 4 same day. Then I got a call from a woman saying their guy was not able to find our house. Turns out they wrote down wrong street name. He finally arrives and I tell him the springs were just replaced by his company like 2 years earlier and he says then should be under warranty, which matches what I had been told back in 2017 which was a 3 year warranty (as do pretty much any such springs you can buy yourself on the internet for like $30 each by the way). But he says hell need my paperwork to honor that. So even though the guy in office actually already did admit I got them in 2017, I go digging around in my basement office and pure luck I actually find the receipt which is one of those yellow copies of what was originally a multi-sheet deal, and I see the guy never dated it,and did not even put his name or initials on it, but he did write on there that it was 2 torsion springs replaced and measurements and etc and this is clearly their letterhead/receipt. I call the office and end up speaking to the owner, who now starts trying to tell me they did not do the work and show nothing at my address. He makes me take a photo of the receipt with my phone and send it to him. Then were back on phones and he basically accuses me of fabricating the receipt, because that isnt his handwriting and it isnt dated. And then he says I dont even know if I got any of this $275 from 2017. Then I hear the woman who called me earlier in the background telling him he is wrong, and that they did the work but they failed to change from my old address in their system to this new address. So I ask him point blank, so now youre saying I called your phone number in 2017 and you agreed to send someone, and I have this receipt and your people see the visit in your system from 2017, but somehow a different guy who doesnt work for you showed up and pocketed somehow the $275 check I wrote you in 2017 and you never got anything?. And now he says hell look into it and call me back. Instead he calls his guy who is at my house and tells him to do $275 again this time! Meanwhile the guy here doing the work says warranty work is usually only $90+ for a service call. All I ever get from the owner afterward are text messages. I am furious for having been basically called a liar, but the guy they sent out has done the work in like 35 minutes and the new springs are up and I called them to come, so I did go ahead and pay, but I will NEVER do business with this company again and I will go out of my way to make sure in any way I can that no one else gets treated like I did in the future. Total bill with taxes just shy of $300, less what is probably not even $50 wholesale for the two springs, they profited probably $225+ dollars for 35 minutes work, even though they claim to offer a 3 year warranty. There are a lot of other choices, and I will next time choose any other company, even one I may never have heard of before, rather than going back to this company for anything, because if you dont stand behind what you tell your customer you dont deserve to be in business. Buyer beware!

The job wasn’t finished. 👎🏼I asked Greg to close up my garage bc my current door had gaps on the side. I was having a problem with bugs and birds getting in. The exterminator said it would eventually be mice and snakes! I expressed that my MAIN concern was getting the sides of the door sealed. He charged me $1,000 and I STILL have gaps on the sides!! Nothing is fix. My main problem remains. I contacted the owner with no luck in getting what I paid for. Very disappointed.

We had quick response even for a Saturday call. He was here at time he said he would he. The job was done quickly and the charge was what was given as estimated. We would definitely refer this company to other if they want fast efficient service. He was very knowledgeable concerning the repair we needed done.Very pleased with overall service.

My husband and I recently purchased a new home and had an issue with the garage door. We contacted the builder and tired for months to get the issue resolved, but was unable too. Really impressed with these folks! I needed a new garage door in a hurry because mine got badly warped and was stuck in the up position so I couldnt close my garage. On a Monday morning I called another company first but no one answered. Their loss. Then I called Carolina Garage Door and spoke to Denise who was very friendly and helpful. Greg (owner) came out to my house within a few hours to take a look at my door. My expectation had been that it would take a week or so to get a new door ordered and installed, but was pleasantly surprised when Greg told me they had the door in stock and would get it installed that SAME DAY! Wow! Leo came out the same afternoon and installed the new door. There was a ding in one of the new panels. (It came out of the package that way; not Leos fault.) We requested that the panel be replaced, and Leo came back out within a few days and replaced the panel. I had a great experience with Carolina Garage Door, and I highly recommend them!!

The experience could not have been better. I called the company on Friday. A representative came late that afternoon to inspect what was needed and take measurements. I was favorably impressed with the representative and thought the price was reasonable, so committed to make the purchase. On Monday afternoon a three-man crew installed just what I ordered. (Two insulated garage doors to replace aged wooden ones that had not weathered well.) They were courteous, efficient, professional, and worked well as a team. They tested the doors for smooth operation, and left the place with no signs that work had been done there. I could not have received better service.

I had placed a negative report on Carolina Garage Door due to calling them after buying a door from them and I had called for a repair and they told me that they did not serve this area. Needless to say I was very disappointed since they were willing to sell me a door and not service the door. BUT THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A MISTAKE BY SOMEONE WHO ANSWERED THE CALL at their office. I have received two calls since I placed the negative review apologizing about my recent call and that they do service this area. They indicated that they will and do service this area and didnt know who told me they didnt. I was very HAPPY with the installation and the service that they provided when I purchased the door. Very professional and was completely happy with the door. So thats the story of the negative rating. I would use them again.

Absolutely wonderful company to work with! Called on a Saturday and was surprised to get a live person! Greg, the owner, came out personally and got my car out of the garage and assured me he would get someone there on Monday. Leo came out and fixed our broken spring first thing Monday and got our door working in a very timely manner. Everyone was very pleasant to work with and I felt that the pricing was more than fair!

We have a 4 yr old builder basic garage door that the spring broke. Carolina Garage Door was great to work with. I would definitely use them again. The person who answered the phone was extremely nice and was able to get someone over that morning. Drew, the technical was courteous and got the job done quickly. He pointed out an issue of concern with the wheels but I didnt feel pressured to get it fixed right then. He patiently explained the how/when/whys to me, gave pricing, spoke to my husband on the phone and gave us time to talk about it. We decided to add the second repair and glad we did. Our garage door is much quieter and running like new again.

Professional, high-quality, and didnt break the bank.I was in the market for a new double garage door to replace my old, loud, rotten, heavy, moldy, warped, wooden one, so I purchased an insulated metal door and new tracks from Carolina Garage Door, and couldnt be happier. Even though I kept my old motor, the noise was cut in half, and the operation is now smooth as silk. I was impressed by the professionalism of the installer, and by his attention to detail. All the seals are very tight fitting, and the new tracks are straight as an arrow. I would absolutely recommend CGD to anyone.

My experience with Carolina Garage Door today was excellent. CGD sent their technicians Micah Womble and Charlie Britt to fix some problems that we were having with the remotes for two of our doors. Michah and Charlie were courteous, efficient, and skilled. They also offered the most economical fix for our problem, which was much appreciated.

Guy who drives GMC Sierra pulled out in front of me, didnt even stop to look. Followed him to the next stop sign and he ran that one too and ended up almost getting rear ended because he pulled out in front of them. Dont know anything about the business but i know their inconsiderate driver helps me make my decision if my garage ever had an issue.
