I liked the way mr milton listened to me on explaining the details of what happened and his concern of the symptom with a good attitude. Thank you!
SALES: I purchased a trailer from Boat Tune that was used sight unseen. Trailer was in great condition and the folks at Boat Tune where very helpful getting me quotes and working with me to secure a trailer. I had a tight schedule and needed the trailer quickly and Boat Tune made it happen. John was very helpful and stayed late for me to get the trailer after hours. Thanks Boat Tune!SERVICE: After purchasing the trailer I had my boat in for the trailer adjustment and an overall check of the boat and motor. The guys at Boat Tune got the Trailer adjusted and offered up many fixes without pressure to fix any one item. They did the work I asked and got the boat back to me in time for Thanksgiving Weekend! Great Job Guys!
I went there under the new ownership located on Forsyth road. I bought the necessary parts needed. I went home and tried to start my outboard and it didnt work. I took the outboard motor to Boat tune and I was obviously upset I couldnt get it started. The owner personally took me to the back and discovered my gas was bad. He educated me on how and why gas goes bad. He was able to start my outboard motor very quickly and when I tried to pay him he didnt accept, instead he shook my hand and thanked me for my patronage. He also wished me a Merry Xmas. I highly recommend. Very fair and more than reasonable. Definitely go see them!!!!
Had a very POOR experience. Added $$ to my quote with no prior call. Damaged my lower unit with a torch and would only repair it if I paid more. All for a simple impeller change on a perfectly working motor. I agreed with the owner on one thing, after I stated I wouldnt be back he said that was a good idea since they couldnt perform to my standards. My standards include good communication, quality work and responsibility, none of which I felt were met. I thought I was lucky for finding someone the week before Memorial Day, after 2 other marinas were full... guess I understand WHY they were available, now. There are too many good marinas in the area, Ill steer clear of this owner in the future.
I recently bought a boat from boat tune. They did not have the boat I wanted, but went out of their to get the boat from another dealership. They experience was wonderful and also gave me great fair trade in value for my boat. Want to thank Patrick Hughes for making a great experience and even came out to my home to help me with my old boat. I would definitely recommend going here for all youre boating needs. Will be going back for many years to come. Thanks Boat Tune and company.
After owning my 1st Stingray for 26 years I purchased my second brand new Stingray from Boat Tune at the Orlando boat show earlier this year. What a great bunch of folks, always helpful, AND they come to my dock to perform maintenance, which is great, cuz Im an hour and a half from Orlando. These people have a great product offering (not just Stingrays) AND a great service dept. Would I recommend them? Absolutely.
Ive been Boat Tune client for several years and they have a terrific sales and service department. Recently a sales associate Patrick Hughes helped sell my 09 Air Nautique for top dollar with little, to no hassle. After that Patrick sold us a 2014 Star Craft center console, of which he was very knowledgeable. I was very satisfied with the deal!
Get it all in writing and make sure the work gets done. Very sloppy and overpriced, they know what they’re talking about and do a great sales job on your service. They run your boat through as fast as they can and do the work about half way.If I’m paying $100.00 per hour and a premium for aftermarket parts I expect the best service.Would not recommend their service department to anyone ever, in fact I recommend you go elsewhere.I have been boating for over 50 years, they talk the talk can’t walk the walk, in fact they sink!!
Excellent service & knowledgeable staff!! I called Boat Tune to see if someone could help me with a finding a part for a motor. I spoke with Justin and even over the phone he had no problem bringing up a schematic and identifying the part I described. I went there an hour later and he again went over the schematic with me in person to make sure it was exactly what I needed. The parts where in stock and the pricing very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a marine parts place in the Central Florida area. Thank you Boat Tune!! *****
My wife and I recently purchased a 2015 Stingray 180rx. Our salesman Patrick Hughes was very helpful in answering our questions about the boat. During the lake trial, Patrick was very informative and patient - this was especially important as we are first time boat owners. All in all, it was a great pressure-free experience.
Highly recommend! Awesome customer service and very knowledgeable. Thank you for getting me back in the water
Sarah in parts department is very knowledgeable on all boats parts. She is fast, helpful and on point every time I needed something. Ill come back to order more parts.
We recently bought a Starcraft Bay boat from Boat Tune. When we arrived Bob, the owner, showed us all of the boats in inventory. There was no pressure at all. Just the facts about each boat. After we decided on a boat he introduced us to Patrick Hughes who handled everything from then on. It didnt matter that we had never owned a boat before and really didnt even know what questions to ask because Patrick handled everything for us. He even took us out on the lake in the boat we were buying to show us how to operate all the gadgets.
Boat Tune has an excellent service department! Any shop that can make my old beater 1980 Bonito 70hp Johnson run this great can handle anything! When I buy another boat, this is where I will make my purchase. Thanks Boat Tune!
Recently purchased a new motor and have to say I was very pleased with the service staff. However Sarah Moylan was amazing she made this process as smooth as it could be. Thanks Boat Tune for getting me on the water again.
I would like to thank Victor and Chris for taking care of me this Saturday morning.I really appreciate the TOP NOTCH service that they provided fixing my 225 Evinrude motor.Im down here to fish with my Grandsons on there spring break and my motor went down yesterday. These guys had me back up and running in a couple hours.I cant thank them enough for saving my week with my Grandsons. You guys are First Class. Thanks John F. Mentges
Just purchased a 2015 StarCraft Bay 155 from Boat Tune last week. Patrick Hughes was great! He answered all of our questions and gave us a good deal at the Daytona Boat Show. He added several things we wanted and did not charge extra for installation. The boat was ready when promised, and Patrick gave me a thorough checkout on the nearby lake prior to delivery. Financing and closing of the deal went fine. The Mercury 4-stroke runs great and the boat is exactly what we wanted! We are very happy with the purchase and recommend Boat Tune. Thanks for the great boat!
Great people went the extra mile fixed my boat trailer
My wife and I bought a used boat ....a few weeks after we had a difficult to find electrical problem. With the professionalism of the service manager Victor and the hands on owner Bob we found the problem and fixed the boat at a very reasonable cost. For professional sales....see Pat.....for service..see Victor or Bob the owner. This is the only place to go in orlando.
Im reluctant to say anything good about Boat Tune. Only reason they are getting any positive feedback is because the sales people are super friendly. Their service is horrid. I gave them my list of what I could afford to do and what needed to be done, and of course with any other problems noticed to notify me accordingly. They never notified me of anything. They returned the boat to me with the spark plugs not seated at all. I spun them out by hand. They never finished de-carbonizing the motor because they could not run it with the spark plugs not seated ($80 not completed). Considering my boat had the original water pump kit from the factory (7 years old) I told them to replace it and flush the motor because it was not circulating water properly ($215 partially completed). They did not flush it because the motor was never run to check if the problem was solved. I brought the boat back to them telling them about the problem. They said if it was something they did, they would take care of it. Otherwise it was going to be an additional $200.I couldve easily just ran the motor and blew it up, instead I told them about the problem not asking for anything at all. Then noticing another problem once I ran the motor, and bringing it back, its like nothing mattered. I spent over $400 dollars replacing my trailer lights and services rendered there. Which Im not even sure that my lower unit oil was even replaced. My processes from now on will and always will be buying parts from them, but never paying for any service to be done again.
Yeah, Sarah is back! I needed some tech support so I stopped by and to my surprise, there she is! As always, thanks for taking care of me, Sarah is always willing to help and she has always come through for me...Ill be back.
If you have money and want to spend it.. go here. This guy Andres couldnt even tell a 2 stroke from a 4.. Its obvious they still have a lot to learn about boats.. and thats just sad. SO Just to get my small 4 stroke outboard running they wanted $180 to check it + $40 for shop materials.. Just to set it on a stand, hook it up to a gas line, battery, and push the start button.. I took it back home and started it with my awesome neighbor who owns a boat and obviously has more common sense than any of the people I saw at boat tune.. and in ten minutes we had it running perfect. I learned more doing it with my neighbor than Boat tune would of taught me and all I spent was some sweat!! I was lured in via a phone call saying they charge by the half hour and it would only be $100 per hour ... got there and this kid Andres pitched me a load of bs telling me, no, its $180 + $40 for shop fees.. figures..OH and I spent $15 bucks on gas to get there and wow what a waste of time! THANKS BOAT TUNE! ...... I SHOULD OF LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS THEY ARE ALL RIGHT!!! YOU LOST MY FAMILIES BUSINESS!
Just visited your place. Met Patrick Hughes who went way beyond what a sales associate would be. He was very helpful in our problem and offered really good solutions. We will be back.
Victor and his staff at boat tune have been very helpful. I have a 2000 evenrude motor and the computer went out on it. They were able to come up with 2 different options for me to get it fixed. They explained everything clearly, were very upfront about what was possible and I felt confident in the advice that I received from Victor. Also when the rebuilt computer failed Victor stood behind his work and his word and even though the computer company did not pay Boat Tune to do the service necessary to diagnose and re-install as they said they would Victor and Boat Tune took care of it.Also whenever I bring my boat in I get estimates up front before any work is completed. Victor and his team is very good at explaining repair options.I would highly recommend boat tune as they are honest and stand by their customers.Sincerely,Mark Ramey (Boat Tune customer 7-30-14)
Great service in the parts dept ! Terra goes above and beyond. They will continue to have my business.!
I had stopped ordering parts from boat tune when sara had left. when I heard she came back to boat tune they are my first call for parts. she is the best parts person I know.
Marine tech. 23 yrs. Sarah is the best parts person I ever felt with. She I. Just about anything. About the parts she sells
The best parts girl in the industry. The best thing Boat Tune ever did was get her back!
I purchased a consignment boat ( 2011 Mariah M18) from Boat Tune about 3 months ago.Patrick Hughes took care of us from the minute we went into the showroom. As first time boat owners we had an idea of what we wanted and Patrick had a boat that was perfect for us.We scheduled a water run with the boat ( that wasnt exactly convenient to Patrick) but he was there and ready to go. We had 1 minor issue with the boat, but Patrick had a service guy fix it on the spot before we even finished signing all the paperwork.Id also like to express how AWESOME the girl in the office that does the registration and tag work was ( sorry forgot her name). She literally went to DMV and waited on my registration and trailer tag for me when i needed it ASAP. She had it all done in 1 day. Truly exceptional service!! Highly recomended
Bought a Stratos Bass Boat from Patrick Hughes he did a good job following through with his promises, Andre in service is awesome also.
During my recent experience at Boat Tune the wonderful parts person that helped me, Sarah Moylan, was extremely helpful in locating and the necessary and correct parts to complete my job.
Awfull, that is all I have for this outfit. The owner Bob, worked on my outboard motor. Supposedly certified as mechanic with Mercury. They were unable to fix my gear shift problem.Got ripped off for 488 dollars and still did not work. They said finally, problem in gearbox, not worth to fix.Ok, mr. Certified mechanic, it was not even in the gearbox. If u were a real mechanic you would have figured it out, but $$$$ are more important to you.I got it fixed. There is some real mechanics around. Should sue you.Oh, what about the wrong throttle cable hookup and the loose drain screw, letting all the oil out.You replaced parts unnecesary on top of it.
I miss Sarah in parts. Seems like the only long term employee at Boat Tune besides Yelli, who hides in the back, and Victor, whos way to cocky to come down to my level and explain procedures without being condesinding....boat tune sucks
This is by far the worst place for ANYTHING boating wise. Customer service does not exsits. I worked here for 3 weeks and personally watched the owner cuss out employees and call almost every customer dumb idiots when they had a problem or issue. I saw 2 customers boats get damaged by the owner Bob himself. His response was give them a 100 dollars in credit or tell them to take the boat somewhere else. Both boats were bought new at boat tune. In the 3 weeks I worked there I saw 3 employees quit. One started after I did. How this business is still around is anyones guess. If you like to be given the run around and treated horribly go to boat tune. If not go to BMC or boat tree or any where but boat tune. If I could give it 0 stars or a negative I would.Do yourself a favor and take 5 minutes and read ALL the reviews everywhere and make your own decision.I wouldnt wish my worst enemy to have to deal with Bob Leatherman
READ ALL: $550 SCREW OVER - BOAT TUNE TECH DID NOT REASSEMBLE CORRETLY AND STILL CHARGED MEI hope everyone takes this seriously as this 3.5 week nightmare really happened. After boating one day, I found a leak in the power trim tilt (PTT) system of my Verado. The PTT still worked even though it had a leak. Boat Tune suggested I need an O-Ring kit. Once the kit arrived I realized it did not have the part I needed. Rather than calling Mercury, Boat Tune accused me of losing the part and ordered a new O-Ring kit. Same problem, the new O-Ring kit was missing the part (so no, I didn’t lose the part). After two weeks lost, Boat Tune calls Mercury and finds out I needed a Trim-Rod Kit. This requires a special tool for installation, so Boat Tune must complete the install. The Verado’s PTT system is self-bleeding. Therefore, it’s a matter of screwing in the Trim-Rod kit and filling up the reservoir and running it up and down a few times. After countless tries, the system will not bleed properly. At this point, I remind Victor that I have a trip to the Keys in 10 days. Victor suggests the manual release valve is the problem. This was strange to me given the PTT has always worked. $200 later, problem not fixed. I should add that it took four phone calls and an email to get Victor to call me back and tell me the bad news. It was actually one of the sales reps that told me the part didn’t work. To top it off, Victor tells me that they can’t get to my boat for another week. Folks listen up, the owner confirmed this is how they do business; if they time slot you for two hours and they don’t get it done, your boat will get shifted to the back of the line. Victor new I was leaving for the Keys with the boat the next week, yet they still were going to shift me to the back of the line. This was the “icing on the cake” for me. I was now into Boat Tune for $478 and my PTT didn’t work. I paid my bill and took the boat to Hagood Marine. I get a call the day after I drop it off and find out a part is missing. Boat Tune’s so called Verado certified technician did not put all the parts back into my PTT and that’s why it wasn’t working. Luckily, I had enough sense to ask for all my old parts because the part Hagood needed was in my garage. Hagood pops in the missing part and she’s working beautifully. I go back to Boat Tune and to Victor’s surprise my boat was working. This was the very same boat they were going to shift back a week and screw me on my vacation. Bob Leatherman, the owner, refused to reimburse me for the boat repair cost at Hagood Marine. He even called the owner of Hagood Marine and pretended to by my friend to try and catch the guys at Hagood in a lie. Mr. Leatherman then proceeded to blame me for the PTT not working because I worked on it myself. I laugh at this because you need a special tool to open the PTT ram, which is the reason I went to Boat Tune in the first place. The owner even admitted they made a mistake. He looked me right in the eye and said legally I don’t have to pay for this and I won’t. All said in done, I paid about $550 more than I should have because Boat Tune failed to reinstall the parts correctly and then refused to make it right. These guys are crooks and their customer service is terrible.
So just a little review and hopefully save someone else from getting jerked around.I went to Boat Tune in Orlando on Goldenrod RD to get a new trailer for my boat. I paid full amount including the setup for $150. The trailer was $2500.00.They were setting it up when I pulled in the parking lot so I pulled in the parking space and watched. As they were setting it up I noticed them getting hush hush and pointing, I ask the OWNER Bob what was going on and he informed me it was just a small wire short and they found it, I was ok with that knowing nothing is ever perfect from the factory. Well I paid everything and went on my way with my new trailer.A few weeks later while loading my boat in some choppy water I heard a gut wrenching sound. It was a loud scraping sound and I noticed right away the front bunks didnt line the boat up and I was on the trailer at an angle. I backed the boat up and came back in at it.The next day I took the boat to All Star Marine in Orlando,FL and let Scott look at it. He showed me how instead of them placing risers on the front bunks they flipped them inwards, this not only defeats the purpose of catching the front side of the boat and guiding it on, but it allowed exposed metal (that would not be there had the trailer been set up correctly) to run along the bottom of the boat causing a fiberglass and gel coat repair. I actually let this go as I am not one to throw a stink, I have plenty of money and just ignore things.Well here we are a few months later and I had another problem. While driving down the road, the handle for the trailer jack came off (due to an internal pin snapping, this is common). I went to Boat Tune and spoke to Glen, of course he was going to order one and have it ready for me to pick up. I specified what I had, PLUS he should have it on record as I bought the trailer just 3 or so months ago from them. Only the stationary style will work for my aluminum trailer. Due to the design, one of the swivel jacks will not work. Well I went to pick it up and they ordered a swivel style (which I dont think they ordered it being it was on the shelf.) Glen told me to give him my shops number and he would contact them directly and get this taken care of.I called my shop a week after they were going to call and no surprise, there was no phone call. I was fed up, I called Bob, the owner of Boat Tune and went over all of my problems, I ask him if he could just refund the $150 setup fee because I had to pay someone else to do it over the right way and the repairs. They know my mechanic quite well and they know he would NEVER tell a lie to get over on someone. Yet they want full pictures and documentation to even consider a refund and they are denying EVER setting up a trailer incorrectly. Now, many of my fellow OFers know me well enough to know $150.00 is merely principal to me and I dont need it what so ever. They have done nothing for me and Today Glen blew me off as I was asking him why he hasnt done anything he said he would. For once I was actually calm until the last second on my way out of the door when I let the customers inside know not to use them and why.I dont normally run online to post stuff like this, but I was warned by a friend and ignored him about his purchase (a boat that the motor let go) and I wanted to let the word out about the people. There are several other shops around that charge the same or a little less. 2 off the top pf my head ar All Star Marine of Orlando and Lake Fairveiw Marina. I dont have any personal experience with the Marina but I have heard they are good and fair. I know scott at all star marine and can vouch, his work is great and prices are fair.
Would not take my boat anywhere else.
