I visited David and Gary today to inquire about repairing my Conn 50M alto saxophone for collegiate Marching Band. However, they were honest in telling me that the saxophone was not worth repair, and recommended me purchasing a more reputable, modern horn. I ended up purchasing a Vito alto saxophone from them for a great price!David and Gary are extremely knowledgeable in their field, friendly, and willing to answer any and all questions you have. Even though my clarinet is under warranty locally, I will now only use Underwood. It’s personable service. He will listen, talk through your concerns, educate you and try to give you options to suit your needs and resources. I called and made an appointment so he personally would have time to see me. I would advise you to do the same because he must have had 10 walk-ins while I was there. They are highly sought after and very busy. Be patient. They are worth it!

I went to this place today and the service is exceptional. Gary is a true craftsman. He also understands the individual needs of the player in relation to the instrument. As a music professional, I use Gary to maintain my various woodwinds. He has also sold me a professional level saxophone. He let me try out a number of different models and then he took adequate time to let me play various mouthpieces, which he can also customize.

Cannot speak highly enough of Underwood Music. Gary fine tuned my alto sax that had been sitting in a closet for years. He made it play better than it ever has and even allowed for an additional two months of adjustments if I was not happy. After playing I noticed a couple notes were a little too out of tune and he adjusted my horn, with me present, then he adjusted some more. Instrument repair is as much of an art as playing the instrument itself. Gary is a master at his craft. He and his team are kind and patient to work with. If you live in central florida, look nowhere else.

They fixed my school-rented Yamaha 321 baritone/euphonium with 2 screwed up valve casings (3rd and 4th valve) in approx. 5 days! Good as new!
