I really love the pharmacy here. My insurance was messed up and my prescription copay was really high but the pharmacist scanned some coupons or something to help me out, and I really appreciated that! Theyre always friendly and helpful everytime I go in (:
My first covid vaccine: I was going to do a walk-in how they have walk-in advertised, the lady tells me they probably won’t do any more walkins till tuesday. The place was nearly empty, but okay I leave and look online. There’s an appointment the same day 1 hour later. I go in and they don’t have my appointment on the computer so I have to fill out everything again and wait nearly 40 minutes. So why did I even need an appointment and why could’ve they have just done it an hour ago when I first came. Since my appointment wasn’t even in the system (even though I received an email and text confirming) I was basically a walk-in.Second shot: My Appointment is at 9am I am there at 8:50 and they tell me the lady who does the shots doesn’t come in till 10.. why would you have all these people just to send them home. The pharmacy opened at 8, they could’ve called people and told them wait till 10. I come back at 10:15 and there’s so many people I leave. I come back the next day and it was fine.I’m not sure if he still works there but the older white man who is the manager has always made me feel uncomfortable. He watches me and side eyes me like I am going to steal something. This isn’t a highend store. I don’t steal but realistically as a grown women i’m not risking my freedom for some 10$ item.
I have had nothing but difficulty giong through cvs in Winthrop. I have been turned away because they said they were not sure about my prescriptions and needed to contact the doctor..mind you its Friday night that I am trying to have my prescriptions filled. At that time I was on 2 medications that can not be abruptly stopped. I had picked these medications up once a month every month for probably a year or so and regardless. There are marks on paper prescriptions so that people can not make fake prescriptions. I could tell probably 10 more stories. The Winthrop CVS is an extremely difficult pharmacy to deal with!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS PHARMACY. Save yourself the stress.

I called for my daughters Medication refill on Tuesday I I went to the pharmacy on Wednesday wasnt ready because as they said they had the problem on the system, the guy who works there said well be ready by Friday I went there on Friday wasnt ready, I went again on Saturday I wasnt ready The pharmacists I think her name Catherine was iN register Has no customer service skills Rude impolite I ask her if she can order it from other stores because my daughter was out of medication for a whole week she refused do that and she said with mean sound are you gonna wait until Monday or you gonna cancel it I said sure Im gonna cancel it because its been whole week waiting for medication and I the end I didnt get it And this is that the 1st time I got trouble with Pharmacy service all the time the working behind all the time late on making orders I have a really bed experience with the pharmacy service I hope the managements can do something About that And get the pharmacy worker training about customer service skills and how they can do the job right before So sad for that
Staffs were nice and did gave me a quality medicine according to my doctors prescription.
CVS has decided if you’re type 2 diabetic with insulin you can only test blood 1x per day doesn’t matter what your doc says. They have not updated their website with this info so your doc does not have up to date info.
This CVS has the nicest people working throughout the store. Also the shelves are well stocked and the store is very clean. The best CVS ever! I hope the employees get compensated for their kind, hard work! Thank you.
Staff is always available and helpful. The pharmacy seem like each person is doing the work of 3. Hire more help, they deserve it.
I’ve used three separate CVS pharmacies (including this one) on a pretty regular basis for the past 5 years and have experienced the same terrible customer service at each. After dealing with an extremely rude and unhelpful person on the phone here I decided to finally change my pharmacy. Now I travel further to get my prescriptions just so I don’t have to give any more of my money to CVS.
This store deserves less than a full star but thats not an option.I called to get the status of my prescription rather than go down and stand there for an hour like every time. And I got a woman on the phone who clearly had more important things to do than her job. Instead of working with me to get my insurance in the system, because yet again they failed to save it, she told me its easier to just bring the card and before I could even say anything she hung up. This is not the first time at CVS Winthrop that I had rude service at the pharmacy but it definitely was enough for me to contact their corporation to report it. I do my job day to day, they should to. Sorry I inconvenienced your work day with asking you to actually do your job.
I’ve had issues with filling my prescription in the past but more than my lifetime total has amassed here in the month I’ve been dealing with them (finally transferred my script elsewhere). Nobody A) could tell me why I was paying out of pocket when “my insurance had been applied,” in fact they just dismissed it as “****ty insurance,” (which should have covered it in full) and B) refused reimbursement after issue was cleared up citing they “didn’t have to refund if it wasn’t a coverage issue,” yet they still didn’t tell me what the issue was in the first place? I don’t envy the job of a pharmacist, but I feel bad enough needing to medicate, this location compounded my issues.
Was in there today. Workers at the pharmacy were all very friendly, especially Islam. However, older lady at the regular check out with blond hair is a miserable human being who always has an attitude and yells at customers. She needs to get replaced. People are tired of seeing her and her attitude anytime they come in.
This is consistently the worst CVS we have ever been to. Years of going there (only when we can’t get anywhere else) and it just doesn’t improve. Terrible customer service, poor inventory, rude employees. Avoid this one if you can.
Complete fail.Kid has allergies. I buy Claritin. It doesnt work. I go back, an hour before they close, wondering if we need claritin D. First person doesnt know anything. Second person says nothing possible until 8am the next day. ITS NOT PRESCRIPTION. Why are you even open if you cant sell basic allergy meds? If I wanted milk or bread there are tons of options.
Easy in, easy out. Staff is friendly. Be sure to use coupons $$ not on the cheap side.
Horrible customer service don’t want to do anything for you rude and quick on phone answered and hung up phone 4 times on my tufts Insurance woman trying to give them updated information for prescriptions. I’d go elsewhere

It seems like there is always an issue when it comes to cvs and there pharmacy. I normally drop my fathers prescription off the night before and pick it up the next morning on the way to work. I live in winthrop and its tough for my father to get it. So I swing it by for him. Now this has never been an issue. Well theres a new sheriff in town. I wont use her name but you will figure out who Im talking about. We cant do that i did it last month?? Im the new manager and now we dont. I cant stand places where it matters who you get for an employee. Basically rolling the dice on how you will be treated. On top of it all to say it with an attitude. Good ole customer service out the window. Are they afraid they will loose it??? Because that never happens. Now I have to be late to work because they wont do what they have always done and just have it filled and waiting. Thanx again cvs. That was the final straw. You need to switch to a different pharmacy and or make a complaint. Or nothing will ever change.
