I just had the best experience here with bicycle shopping during the pandemic. Everyone warned me that I would never be able to find a bike in time for my sons birthday, but I went here first, and they just had a new shipment of bikes come in, so there were actually several in his size with plenty to choose from. Tom was happy to take the time to show me the unassembled bikes that just came in online, and I found one that I thought would be perfect for him. I brought my son back later in the day, and Tom measured him for bike frame size on a bike that was already assembled. The bike Tom showed us in the box unassembled was expertly assembled in less than 24 hours, and my son was thrilled!
The service and staff here is incredible. I brought a 15 year old GIANT bike for a full tuneup and it’s like riding a brand new bike.I also brought an Electra beach cruiser which popped its back wheel the day before our vacation. The team at Wycoff cycle had a new one on in a few hours. The absolutely best !!!
I drove my 50+ year old 3-speed bike over to see if I could buy new pedals, and they were able to put them on as I waited on the sidewalk. Also asked about buying a mirror and new handle grips, which they also offered to put on, all for minimal labor charge. I know how busy bike shops are now, and really appreciated the immediate service. Will definitely bring my bike back for its tune-up. Thank you Stephen!
Was looking for a new shop, as the owner of my local bike shop retired after having shopped there for 30 years. I initially had a pleasant experience with a young fellow in the shop, with the intention of purchasing a helmet, bike locks, and either finding out if they were available to fix a brake cable and housing or sell me the same to fix it. For the brakes, I asked first if it would be ok to show them the bike, as I know shops are busy this time of year and got the ok to bring it in from my trunk.Everything was smooth until the young guy asked a guy with a beard (I assume an owner) what he thought in terms of the bikes brakes. The guy went on a bizarre rude rant, carrying on about how it wasnt just a line, it was housing and so forth. I responded were good, and left $100+ of merchandise on the counter, as Im not handing someone who acts like that my money. I went down to Ridgewood, the shop there was pleasant, said they were backed up with repairs but that theyd happily sell me the cable, helmet, and locks., and a half hour later here at home the bikes brakes work great.Reading the other reviews, I can see others have had the same experience, and this shop has written responses that, rather than be conciliatory in any way or look to take corrective action, instead match how the person I encountered acts in the store. There are too many good bike shops around to mess around with this place, I recommend you take your business elsewhere.
I came while things were partially shut down for COVID. I appreciated that I could schedule an appointment and that I did not have to go into the store. The staff met me at the door and processed my service request and returned my bike to me. My bike was tuned up quickly and for a great price. And the staff were friendly and helpful. Ill definitely be back!
Great local bike shop! Theyre so helpful I highly recommend them. I enjoy my bike I bought there so much.
Was able to find a good price with them. Ordered online, and when they called to say it was ready for pickup they had also already installed the kickstand and bottle holder I ordered. Didnt even need to ask them to do it. Would recommend them and purchase from them again.
Maybe the purchasing experience is different than the service experience. I had 2 bikes that needed repairs, one needed new tires and needed a derailleur.I tried to call the shop twice, voice mailbox is full, no one picks up, no way to leave a message. I look at the website under the service & repair section, it says No need to make an appointment! Drop off your bike today!. I drive 30 minutes lug the bikes to the front of the shop (no one is allowed in). A young man about 17 or 18 comes out and I tell him what is wrong with each of the bikes. He says he wont be able to look at them, or take them! He goes back into the shop and comes out to hand me a card saying to come back sometime next week to drop them off. Why not take them now? I have to come BACK to bring them to you, and then wait addition time for them to be fixed? The older person in the shop who was repairing never came out, except to look at a bike of someone that he knew. Extremely frustrating.I then angrily called a place called Petal Sports in Oakland. A helpful person answered the phone immediately and told me to bring the bikes over and someone would look at them right away. They had more people lined up at the store than Wyckoff, but managed to apologize to everyone for the delay (which wound up being only a 5 or 6 minute wait). The gentleman that helped me was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They gave me price estimates and took both bikes on the spot.A few suggestions for better customer for Wyckoff:- Clear your voicemail and either create an informative message if you are not able to see people, or have someone pick up the phone and tell people to come in next week if you cant accommodate them right away.- Take off the No need to make an appointment! Drop off your bike today message from the website if it is not what you are able to do.I may have caught them on a bad day, and I dont mean to trash a small business, but it was an incredibly frustrating experience. I get that bicycle repair and sales are going through the roof with the pandemic, but dont forget to treat every customer like they matter. Take notes from Petal Sports and get your act together!
I just used this bike shop for the first time. I knew about it because I drove past it a lot, but its not located quite near me. Anyway, they were extremely responsive by e-mail with every question and request, had the bike for my daughter, and was just super accommodating and helpful with everything, including holding the bike and fixing it quickly for it. Once they have adult bikes back in, Ill definitely buy from them. Go to them you wont be sorry.
They fixed my tire quickly.
Inquired about fit options online and they responded promptly with very detailed and indepth response. They really took the extra time and shared their evident experience and knowledge going above and beyond to answer my question without any sales pressure. Not many quality brick and mortar bike stores left like this anymore. Highly recommended!
Heard they do great work. My estimate was far off what they quoted me when they were ready to start the work, but at least they didnt do the work and then charge me 3x the initial estimate.
Have brought road bike for tuneup. Result is velvety smooth performance. Wyckoff Cycle also completely overhauled my bike used on indoor trainer. A pleasure to ride. Very knowledgeable and competent!
Mike was extremely helpful when I wanted tires for my mountain bike that I am restoring to exercise with during C19 crisis. Attended me well and safely outside store on the sidewalk, gave me tips for better riding.
Always willing to help out. Accommodates everyone to the best of their ability. Love supporting a great local business. Would recommend to anyone in need of service or tune ups!
There are many bike shops in the area but none have as much knowledge as the staff at this shop. Very courteous and patient with the family. I felt there was no pressure when I special ordered a high end bike here. The bike was assembled with absolutely no issues in a timely manner. This is the only place I will go from now on for bike gear.
Always there to help when I need a tune up or air in my tires and are always nice!
Brought in my son’s mountain bike for a repair. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Repair took less than time than anticipated and cost was reasonable. Good location, convenient store hours and parking.
Guys just got my bike tuned up and ready for road bike season. Would highly recommend bringing any bike down for service as they are very knowledgeable and take the time to listen to what youre experiencing and need fixed. Prices were reasonable and turn around time for the spring was great!
This is the absolute best place to go if you need bike service need to buy a new bike or just looking for some new information. Mike wad really helpful I came on Saturday and they told me they could only do flat some minor repairs I had a crap bike that I needed to get fixed and they stayed over 2 hours to get it fixed it.I wad also able to pay over the phone this is the best bike shop ever!
I have been going to Wycoff Cycle for several years and could not be happier with their service. They service and tune-up all of my familys bikes. The staff and Mike are very knowledgeable and courteous. I highly recommend them 100%!
I highly recommend Mike and their knowledgeable and professional staff! Wyckoff Cycle is definitely the best Bike shop in the area. They know what they are doing whether your looking for a new bike or bike repairs. Great shop!
Excellent Bike shop I always have Mike service my suspension and do yearly tuneups. They always go above and Beyond. Highly recommend.
Purchased a bike in December 2015 all the way from OHIO. Owner answered all of my questions quickly and was easy to deal with. If you want good customer service and a HONEST PERSON TO DEAL WITH.... Wyckoff is the place to go!
Best bike shop I have ever dealt with. Every time I get my bicycle worked on, it feels like it is brand new. Prices are incredibly reasonable and Mike (owner) is fantastic to work with. I feel very lucky to have a reliable bike shop in my home town. AAA+++
Dont go here go to any other bike shop. They are bad businessman rude and unprofessional
As the other reviewers stated the owner, Michael, was great to work with. We bought a bicycle for our soon to be 5 year old daughter and Michael was great with her. I could have gone to the local bike shop, less than one mile away, however many people recommended driving 2 towns away to Wyckoff because of the reputation of Wyckoff Cycle. Michael was personable, knowledgeable & friendly; everything you would hope the local businessman would be. The bicycle comes with one year of free service and lifetime adjustments. None of which was mentioned until after we made the sale. No pressure, no selling, just trying to match you with a bicycle that will meet your needs. I can highly recommend Wyckoff Cycle & Michael without any reservation. Very satisfied all around experience!
Wyckoff cycle is the best shop around. Mike is the man to see. Super fair pricing and really quick turn around! Come to this shop for all your cycling needs! A bike shop ran by people who ride!
Horrendous purchasing experience. I purchased a bike from Wyckoff Cycle and it was assembled poorly and never checked or tuned. When I arrived home with the bike there were multiple issues with the assembly work. The owner Mike made an excuse that the employee that assembled my bike no longer works for him. I brought it to another bike shop and multiple issues were identified. The owner Mike refuses to respond to voice mails or emails. The owner Mike refuses to rectify the situation and act like a responsible business owner. He has no integrity and once he has your money he treats customers very poorly. Unacceptable!!!!
Tuned up our bikes and helped outfit us with a kid seat. Knowledgeable staff and super friendly. Great value.
Mike knows his stuff. Not only does he go the extra mile when you need something, he doesnt try and sell you something you dont need. I drive about 45 minutes to his shop because I can trust him and the services he provides. I highly recommend this shop to all my friends and family.
Mike is awsome. Honest and always helpful even when it means he will not sell me anything which makes me want to spend even more. Highly recommended.
Knowledgeable, professional, & courteous. I explained to Mike what style of riding I do so he set me up with a demo bike and 7 days later as promised Im on the trails with a brand new mountain bike at a great price !
Recently, I had a custom mountain bike built by Mike at Wyckoff Cycle. It was a great experiance dealing with Mike, who is extremely knowledgeable with the selection of bike components. Mike being an experience rider and knowing the type of rider I am, suggested various brands and models for each component. He advised me of the pros and cons and weighted in on pricing. We reached my goals on the bikes ride and weight. Repair work is turned around fast and I never had a problem with any of the work.
These guys were super healpful right from the get go. If youre in the area, go see Wyckoff Cycle. Its even worth the drive if youre not nearby.I was coming to visit the area so enquired about a rental. Not only did they hook me up with a rad trail bike, but gave me the advice on where to ride which meant I really got the most out of my time there.Mike was also extra helpful in organising to swap the levers over to match the bikes in Australia which saved me going over the bars for sure.I was even able to buy a used road bike from here which served me well for my time in NYC.Cannot recommend enough.
We purchased 3 used bikes, several helmets, and various bike parts from Wyckoff Cycle. In my experience I have always received good advice and have never been upsold. If I ever decide to buy another bike this is where Ill go. Support your LBS.
I go there a lot it’s run by a great group of people, though it’s a little pricey it’s a good shop
Thanks for putting me on a great bike. Btw I found my key!
Expert product knowledge and quality support! As a former bike mechanic I turn to Wyckoff cycles whenever I need guidance or help!
I just recently had my old 80s Bridgestone steel frame bicycle tuned up and had some new parts switched out (wheels, brakes, misc. parts). On first conversation they suggested a new bike. Fearful that they were just trying to get me to spend a lot of money, I went in anyway to discuss with the option of just tuning up my bike or getting a new one. To my pleasant surprise they told me what good condition my bike was in and suggested I just use this one as a beater through the winter and wait until spring for a new bike. It was obvious they had my best intentions in mind and they werent just trying to sell me something.Turn around time for my bike was less than 4 days. And you can bet your butt Ill be supporting this shop for a long time for all my bike needs. Def go here. Def. Def. Def. They are great!
Rude, uninviting, looked at me like I had 2 heads. Not giving my $ to this place. Very short with his answers. Asked if I had a bike to drop off. Why would I come to your shop? To have my car cleaned? Ignorance is bliss and ignorance causes small LBS like this to go under.
Great shop, Great guys!!
The Best
