Very nice walk through a well maintained arboretum. Folks in the gift shop will give you a map and some great advice on how to see it all. Great experience.
Great place to get pictures I took my senior pictures there for high school.
Beautiful place to go. Especially in the fall. All the different colors exploding at once! There are a few homeless around, or I would give it 5 stars.
I took students on a scavenger hunt here. We had so much fun. Took a bunch of pictures, played lawn games. Perfect day!
Great place to come and unwind. Relax in the park, and visit the Japanese Garden.
Great park to visit! I went first thing in the morning with my dog and was one of the only people around. The locals were friendly and gave me some hiking suggestions. You could hear the noise from the highway but the farther you walked into the park the less you could hear it over the birds. I’m sure during the day with more people it would be less noticeable too.
Beautiful park. Lots of weddings taking place on site. Trees are easily marked for identification. Lots of easy trails, trees, and places to sit. Frogs are plentiful in the ponds.
Beautiful and quiet. So cool to see all the different varieties of trees and plants that thrive in the Yakima Valley. Definitely need to go walk around this place. So nice.
An amazing collection of trees. As an east coast resident it was great to see arbors of home in this fertile desert. An excellent afternoon walk without the troubles of a set floor plan. Wander the grounds as you see fit and spend some time at the joyful garden in the center
The grounds are much larger than I had expected. It is a beautiful place. Lots and lots of green. There were people there taking pictures of graduates. There was a wedding rehearsal. It has plenty of good photo opportunities. The gift shop closed early, so we missed out that.It is definitely some place I will visit again.I recommend this beautiful area, for walks, flowers, trees, and of course, pictures. There is plenty of room for big groups of people. You might want to bring your own chairs. There are a handful of concrete benches, or sitting in the grass. At least in the part we visited today. We did not get to every area today. I hope to return soon, and explore the rest. The maps of the area are on the post by the gift shop entryway.
Peaceful Saturday morning 🌄. The lady in the gift shop was very pleasant. There are so many opportunities to sit on a bench and soak in the experience. Dogs are welcomed if they are on a leash.
I have seen a few of these around and its nice good for pictures and its about all very dry tries but the grass was green I dont know about the bathrooms . Its good for a long stroll if your needing to get out.
Went to a field trip here with my baby sister and her first grade class, and this place is so beautiful. I never knew this was here in Yakima (since I’m not from Yakima) but everyone had fun and it was super relaxing
Beautiful and peaceful (except the highway noise)
I absolutely love this place, particularly early in the morning. There are mule deer, squirrels, and birds in the wetlands area. The grounds spread out and house a multitude of interesting trees and other plants. The Japanese gardens and larger pond are very peaceful. The Christmas decorations against the snow, and just the dawn in Winter, are awesome. The place is kind of magical.
Good place to run or walk. Trees are planted in family groups and most plants have ID tags so you can get ideas for your home lamdscaping projects. Japanese garden is a popular spot for wedding amd prom photos.
Beautiful, ship-shape, and clean with nice gift shop and helpful staff.
The Arboretum is quite a beautiful place to visit in the Yakima area. You can access the Yakima River and the Yakima Greenway Path via the Arboretum grounds. Its especially cool to visit throughout the year and watch the seasons change. Ever wondered how certain trees grow or look throughout the year? This is a great place to see that . Be prepared to spot a few squirrels during your visit :) The yearly Mushroom Show is hosted at the Arboretum and its definitely worth seeing. We love stopping in to visit their unique gift shop!#yakimaarboretum #arboretum #yakima #trees #letsguidePlease click the >> 👍
Nice private paety
Great place to spend a hot afternoon.
Beautiful place.
Beautiful views! 🙂
Always a wonderful place to walk the dog and to enjoy the outdoors around here. Its nice and shady so its not too hot in the morning right now. Just a beautiful hidden gem! So much to see there and the grounds are immaculate!
Mushroom show with my grand son
Very peaceful and beautiful. Well maintained. The map isnt very clear but you can usually figure out where you are. Most of the trees are labeled with their names.
Great place, never dissapoints.
Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Great walk in early spring
Pretty place, even though most of the leaves have already changed. I bet it is beautiful in the Spring. Always a good place to walk, ride, sit, etc etc....
Beautiful gem near the river in Yakima. Easy access from the riverfront trail, as well as from the off leash dog park. Great for weddings, photography, that budding botanist, and AR mobile games. Also makes for a lovely walk in the park whenever you need inspiration or just relaxation. Regardless of the season, theres always beauty to be seen here. Keep an eye out for their various seasonal events, especially their winter solstice event.
We, April Anderson and I, love taking our dogs there for a good run. They love chasing the squirrels.
Beautiful place for graduation pictures
Beautiful spot for family fun.
The dogs and I love it here. Best part of Yakima.
Lots to get out & see. Places to hide are really cool.
Such a lovely place to take children
Such a cute place to go for a walk!! You can go take some awesome pictures too. It’s very relaxing. I always like going in the morning for a little walk. I recommend stopping by during the summer, the roses are beautiful! The cute statues are awesome if you walk a little further down. (:
Great fun and beautifully maintained.
So beautiful and serene! Visit the bird blind and spy on cute little birdies!
This is a great place to take pictures, to walk with your family, to enjoy the light show and much more! We like going to walk dogs, and then play in the park. My kids love to chase the geese.
Beautiful place to visit.
Just a beautiful and peaceful place to be. ❤️
Well kept grounds with a variety of well marked vegetation and animals.
Really love our local arboretum. With 46 acres of lawn and hundreds of trees its a beautiful oasis in the desert. Each season brings special features. In late April early May the crab apples, dogwoods and other flowering trees put on quite a show. Lots of year - round events and classes for all ages too. Dont miss their plant sales in May and Luminary walk in December.
Great landscaping and community building. The luminary before Christmas is something the witness.
Good place to take dogs
Very pretty scenery and such a calm aura in the air. But in all fairness I got dragged there to take picture after graduation 😂
Many spots to take pictures
Beautiful early blossoms!
Sooooo beautiful!!!! You can take amazing pictures here. You can go for a beautiful relaxing walk. Perfect scene for a picnic, if you like just simply being outside the Arboretum is very pretty.
Very nice, big park. There is a dog park within park near Humane Society which is also within park. Leashed, well-behaved dogs okay for walking in general park area. Looks like they have weddings and other outdoor events there. Suggest going late April through September. Not all flowers were in bloom yet and was windy in early April.
Beautiful..peaceful
Great
Beautiful park and a great place to play Pokemon Go. Love the variety of trees and shade. My favorite portion is the Japanese garden in the middle of the park. It has a cute water feature and lots of cute little frogs.
Beautiful place to go for a photo shoot it just to relax. Nice visitor center. Would have liked more signs telling me about the trees.
We go here as a family every few months. It is beautiful, well maintained and quiet. Its great for all kinds of events and celebrations.
Beautiful park. Great for pictures.
One our favorite places to go get fresh air escape technology and enjoy nature as a family. Absolutely breathtaking
I Recognize This Place
It was fabulous😊Just what I needed on this gorgeous fall day. I recommend it to all that appreciate nature & a few little creatures🍂🍁🍂🍁
Very beautiful green oasis, specially roses garden.
Its warm out and I like the flora and the fauna!
Great place to feel immersed in nature in Yakima. Lots of open space and greenery. Also great to practice botany skills!
I enjoyed my time there with my children. We attended the night of there light luminaries. Pretty to see fairly cold but it helped having been served hot cocoa and coffee.
Clean, beautiful, large spaces of grass for kids to run, great for picnics and getting photos taken! Many different flowers depending on the season. Also has rooms to rent for parties/events.
Great. Very nice walking paths. Very qell maintained through the shutdown.
Such a beautiful place. All of the beautiful trees and flowers were so enjoyable! Loved the visit!
I have been going to the Arboretum and walking for about 10 years. The trees and grounds are always kept up great! It was sad to see that the homeless issue is negatively impacting the Arboretum though. This last Sunday there was a homeless person that was trying to get into the power box of the fountain in the Rosegarden. And another person who had their backpack spread open and two dogs barking underneath the pavilion in the Japanese garden. Also there was underwear and other clothes visible in the pagoda structure. I do not hold the Arboretum responsible for this problem. It is just disappointing that the city and county allow such a beautiful place to be abused by a group of people. I imagine the arboretum is frustrated with the extra garbage and vandalism. I no longer use the Greenway from 16th Ave. to Union gap because of the homeless camps and security concerns I sure hope the arboretum does not experience those concerns ever.
Not sure if this loves up to the hype..
Really nice travel stop for a break from driving. Great place for children to run and play in the wide open and Very well maintained grounds. They have an indoor area with learning area for kids. There is a gift store called The Treehouse.
If you wanna take some good pictures with beautiful flowers and pond and animals and everything else you can think of go here.
I really enjoyed all the different plants and all the different walkways
Lots of labeled trees, pretty interesting, the pond fountain is cool lots of frogs. Good spot to relax for a bit.
Spring summer and fall offer beautiful gardens and well kept trees paths and gardens. Winter offers the annual luminaria walk. The lighted path and Japanese and rose gardens were beautifully whimsical.
Absolutely beautiful. Even the noise from freeway traffic cant take away the tranquility of experiencing nature in its diffeent stages of life throughout the year. Just avoid after dark, when the teenagers dress up as blood cultists and chase unfortunate insomniacs.
