Terrible communication and follow up. I was told 3-4 weeks for my upholstery job of one piece of furniture. It took 6 weeks and repeated phone calls with no follow up to get the status of my furniture. Made multiple phone calls with no calls back. The Addison store is so busy with very poor customer service, you are constantly put on hold and just told someone will call you back to no avail. The quality of work is decent but the material was not centered on my chaise lounge or laid out like it was supposed to be. The left over material was not delivered with my furniture like I was assured it would be. I left two messages regarding my material that was $50 a yard and have yet to receive a call back. I paid over $1600 for one piece of furniture and received terrible service. Will not give this place another dime.

We have been customers of Childress for 20+ years. It seems like they just keep out-doing themselves if that is even possible! This recent job was fantastic- the fabric quality and the workmanship was superb. An xtra shout out to Mike who was so kind to help us with this project. Love this place!

Theyre a one stop shop for everything so thats great but my custom window treatment order process was nothing short of a nightmare. Started off great, then Corona hit. Once they opened back up, I need a quote modified and no one could help me for 2 more weeks until the guy who handled window treatments was in. He quit after coming back for one day. Took 2 more weeks to correctly get everything on order after that because of their unorganization! Started dealing w the owner and her son. They were so kind but that doesnt change the fact that I never got phone calls w any updates, fabric being out of stock after they told me it was in stock and me paying for it and confirming install appointment times then telling me they couldnt do that the evening before it was to happen. I understand Corona affected everyone but we are weeks past the point of excuses. I do not know how they are still in business if this is their customer service model. If youre going to use them, be prepared to project manage everything and do your own follow up. Keep written records for proof of everything you want. Final install and product was/were great but the quoting and ordering process was horrific. I will try to find another place like this for window treatments before ever ordering from them again. Truly a shame to me.

Ive been a customer for several years. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to assisting customers in finding what they need. Alvaro has helped me for almost a year as I have been working with a sibling on the east coast to find fabrics to reupholster 2 chairs for a vacation home. I shared cloth samples and we agreed that Childress had the best selection. Having the option of books or bolts of cloth is great. Samples are important to me. I will be back.

I hired Childress Fabrics to make my drapes and dining room chairs after getting a quote from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The Childress quote came in at exactly half of the NFM quote. Of course that made me very happy, but nothing compares to the customer service, professionalism, and quality craftsmanship I received from Childress. I worked with Mike and he was a gem. He kept me updated on the process as well he gave expert advice in choosing my fabrics. Earl installed my drapes and I highly recommend him to do installation. He was an excellent perfectionist! I will always recommend Childress Fabrics to my family and friends.

Childress Fabrics has been serving my family for many generations with good prices, great customer service, and the most amazing quality. I purchased a new home 2 years ago and was gifted an old couch from a co-worker and friend to go in our formal living room. After using this couch for a year and half it was the favorite of everyone in the family because it was so comfortable. The couch was over 20 years old when we got it and all of the cushions were still full and supportive. We eventually decided to reupholster the old couch instead of buying new because every couch we tried was not near as comfortable as the one at home. I shopped around for roughly three weeks trying to find a good and reputable reupholstery shop. We eventually decided to use Childress Fabrics because my grandmother had been using them for decades. We were very fortunate to meet and be helped by the Grandson of the Childress family Reece Childress. I was so overly vocal about not changing anything on the couch but the fabric because it was the most amazing couch ever and they just dont make them like they used too. Eventually after me telling the story about how awesome my old couch is Reece flipped it over to see the manufacturers tag and it turns out that Childress custom made the couch originally in the early 80s for my co-worker. What an amazing story. If you are looking for the kind of quality that last decades or generations this is the place to go. The Childress family is Amazing!

I have been perusing fabrics at Childress since moving to Dallas 7 years ago. Mike P. helped me this visit, but EVERYperson I’ve worked with has been helpful and knowledgeable. The selection of fabrics is amazing, their willingness to cut swatches and give opinions is phenomenal, and their prices are reasonable. All of that, and it’s a family run business.

Mike helped me recover one couch and built a second one to match the first. The second couch matched perfectly and the whole process went smoothly. The order was even finished ahead of schedule. Working with Mike was great and his attention to customer satisfaction was top notch.

The prices are absurdly high compared to its competitors. It should be a last choice unless the the client is unaware of what upholstery fabric costs. They charge triple the rate of their neighbors for reupholstery. But it is a really nice facility with a large selection.

I took a bar stool to be re-upholstered with a high quality linen fabric from restoration hardware. They wrecked the linen (lines a crossed the chair; looks terrible). Took the chair back to show them and they said they would try it again but when I picked up the chair it was exactly the same lines in the exact same places (doubt they did anything). Now, I have to find someone to fix the chair; wasted $75 and several trips. I will not be back!

Reese is incredible to work with-very knowledgeable and always willing to try to get you the best value possible. I highly recommend Childress for any curtains, upholstery, etc.

Lovely fabric options. however, each time ive been in, no one has ever acknowledged my presence! it isnt crowded most days. prices are moderate to high dependimg on quality of your choice.

Their customer service is terrible I asked a girl for help and she didn’t look very happy!My husband and I have been in a couple of times and they’re not very friendly. Not even a simple hi welcome in... nothing!
