One of the best coffe places in Alameda. The coffee is roasted on the premises. Also features a very good selection of pastries and made on the premises sandwiches. Try the Mediterranean sampler featuring house made hummus. Big enough to share.

Love the drinks and the staff. Great place to meet up at or plug in for a bit when working from home. A little frustrating during pandemic that, during the weekend morning there are always the same 10+ patrons outside not observing social distancing or mask usage and blocking the sidewalk. I wonder if part of the parking lot can be made into an outdoor dining area for guests.

Fantastic coffee. Has the best mocha on the ENTIRE ISLAND. I get one whenever I can--- I like the Aztec chocolate with coconut milk (THANK YOU for having coconut milk!!!!) and my hubby LOVES the classic mocha with dairy. Friendly service and nice menu variety. Takes a few minutes, but worth the wait.

Love this place. Its became my new coffee stop in the morning before work. It does get very crowded. And the crowd in there is definitely different from a normal coffee shop. But they make a great latte and have good pre made sandwiches for me to grab and go.

A great coffee shop, good brew and quick service. Its attached to the grocery store, but it opens earlier, and you can get in through the side entrance. Their coffee and espresso drinks are very good, the only downside is their pastries and baked goods are just OK. However, there is a bakery at the back of the grocery store that has excellent pastries; unfortunately the grocery store doesnt open til 8am. I wish Beanery could work out a deal to get pastries from that bakery, but Im sure theyve tried and there is some complication preventing it.For coffee however, its definitely the best place Ive found in Alameda.

Nice setting. But we ordered two espresso drinks and they came out tasting roasty/charred. I think the coffee might be over roasted based on these drinks. I also saw them prepare a pound of beans for a customer and they were totally slick with oil which is another sign of over roasting or old beans.

The staff here has a really bad attitude. I mentioned that my americano had a small splash of milk in it (which I didn’t ask for) and I mentioned this to the staff hoping to get an apology and a remade drink. Instead I was told “americanos don’t have milk in them” in a snotty tone. I am aware of that...I had to point to the drink before she said “whoops” or something to that effect.

Not sure how this has such good reviews. First of all its not a true coffee shop. It is off to the side of a grocery store like so many Starbucks these days. Also the seating is just some cafeteria tables on the way to the store. Honestly I cant even say I tried the coffee because as I was waiting to order I saw quite a few flies flying all over the place and was disgusted and left

At first glance it appears to be a coffee shop shoved in to the corner of an open market hall. Its so much more! Somehow the little tables are inviting and cozy to sit at, the food is always made perfectly, and the specialty drinks are, too. Sometimes there is a line, and sometimes it seems like the food takes a while, but that is probably because its made fresh, to order (i.e. not microwaved or pre-warmed). I started buying coffee beans there lately - I like dark roast - and I find it very convenient to have them grind it for me. The hot turkey pesto panini is addicting as is the crème brûlée pastry.

This morning we got take away breakfast with my fiancee. This chubby lady on the counter got our orders then my fiancee ask her if she was Filipina. She said she was a Thai and she doesnt like Filipino. I just smiled back (I am Filipina). Im so sorry for her mouth and being racist. She was the first thai whonsaid that. I have a high education background and raced from a very nice family. She may have a bad experience with Filipinos. So in behalf of my race, we apologize and in behalf of my race we forgive you for not liking us. To the Beanery, Even if she doesnt like our race I still like your coffee and your food and your ambiance in Alameda. I will come back again (smile).
