I purchased a wood burning stove. 3d stove in the last 7 years from this company. However, I encountered a very rude sales lady who refused to wear a mask when I asked her. I have not picked up the stove. Probably in the next week. However, this really bothers me.

An extreamly rude female manager refused to assist me properly by not even looking at the list of items I needed or the diagram I had. I called ahead and talked to an employee who helped me comprise the list that was ignored by this woman. She was rude from the moment I walked in. Absolutely no help. Had to just walk out. Oh well theyre over priced anyway

My wife and I installed a wood burning stove (Blaze King) and needed the double and triple wall pipe to complete the project so we went to Mountain West.I had positioned the stove where we wanted it and sketched out a diagram with all the measurements I thought were pertinent for the stove pipe. We had Mark helping us and he was able to put together all of the pipe we needed. Mark was very knowledgeable and made the whole process very simple.This is a really neat store if you are thinking about putting in a wood, gas or pellet stove or fireplace insert. They have several displays to look at and everyone seemed to be very friendly and helpful.They also supply parts to other retailers in Albuquerque. If you buy your stove from another retailer I would recommend buying additional items (pipe, ceiling support etc) here to save some money. We saved about $1000 by buying our pipe here.

I knew what I wanted and asked for a quote on two propane stoves. I cant even get a response from them. Why do websites employ a contact form if they just ignore the requests. If they dont have what I want or dont service my area they should just say so, not ignore the request.

Wallie worked hard to ensure the new pellet stove was ordered to the exact specifications we needed. He facilitated the sale, did a house call, and gave advice on how to prepare the space for the insert. The entire staff at mountain west were polite and professional. I appreciate them going above and beyond my expectations. We chose the quadrafire pellet insert with Bluetooth thermostat. We love the new stove and are very happy to have chosen and trusted mountain west with this purchase. Thank you!

We walked in to look and purchase a new stove, the lady sent us to the ugliest cheapest stoves they had and pretty much walked off with no interest in our business, so we walked right back out and took our business to dream style remodeling where we got great service and purchased a 7000 dollar stove. Avoid this place they evidently dont need the business!

This place was nice, had a bit of options to choose from. Service is good, willing to help in any way possible. I was looking for an electric fireplace and most were on brochures.

Arlene is very knowledgeable, she answered all our questions and has such a passion for her job that it translated to pure excellence in her job! We went to other stores before this one and asked questions and they did not know half as much as Arlene did about fireplaces. Thankful for her help.

Very unhelpful in getting pellet stove repaired. Was given a month wait time for repair. What was I supposed to do living in the East Mountains without heat from a stove that we purchased from this store. The day before the tech was supposed to show, they called and canceled completely bc of Covid. NOT to reschedule, to cancel. Avoid this place.

Called ahead and was told they had my stove part in stock. Gave them the specifics and had them repeat it back to me. No confusion about what I needed. 2 hour drive to get there and they didnt even stock my part. Didnt seem to care about my inconvenience.

We made an appointment with this place as they requested due to showroom being closed. We sent an email this morning to make sure the appointment was still in effect. We drove from one state to another state to look at the pellet stove they said they had. We drove 4 1/2 hours, 240 miles (on way). We arrived at the appointment time only to be told they would not let us in. We only wanted to see the stove! We were not planning on staying and would have kept our social distance. Horrible customer service! DO NOT buy from this place. I’d give zero stars if I could.By the way they lost a $5,000 cash sale.

We came here because our gas fireplace isnt working. Robert helped us, answered all our questions knowledgeably, and gave us recommendations, without being pushy or sales-y. He was very friendly and kind, and we really appreciated his help.

Theyre nice to you in the store. then when its time to return your phone call after your visit at your house. you cant get call back for days and days and days leave a message and nobody returns your call.Then they give you a higher price on the stove over the phone then what the sales person wrote down for you.Vary in professional place.

We love our pellet stove, have had it for 14 year. It really saves on our winter heating bill, provides an even heat. A pellet stove isnt maintenance free, you need to know how to clean it and trouble shoot minor problems. If you need a repair call during the winter it can be up to 2 months before they get to you. Have replaced the auger motor twice, blower fan once, vacuum switch once, thermostat once. Just to name a few maintenance issues.

This store solely does pellet stoves. They have everything need for a pellet stove though. There are beautiful options for putting into your home and the workers seem very knowledgable. We ordered new piping to extend our pellet stove to vent it properly.

When my wife and I were in the market to purchase a new wood stove we visited 3 of the local Albuquerque stores that had a number of different makes and models. There were a lot of choices out there and a choices to be made such as steel vs cast iron, fire brick vs soapstone, top load, front load, side load...and more. The sales people at Mountain West Sales were exceptionally patient and knowledgeable and worked us through the process of defining our need/use and what would work in the space we needed to heat and location of the stove. We visited there 3 times as we refined our choice down to 2-3 stoves and each time we received the same professional/personable sales service with no pressure. We ended up buying our stove at a different store (only because Mountain West did not carry the stove we decided on) but they were by far the best sales team/store to work and we recommend to anyone buying a wood stove that they should start here.

I bought a pellet stove 3 years ago & Im over $4000 down the drain. It broke down the very same year we bought it & now going into 4 years it BREAKS DOWN ALL THE TIME, no matter how much we clean it. I thought buying a top of the line pellet stove wouldve been better but now I wish I could have just went to homedepot!! Now that the 2 year warranty is over, its $115+ parts to have a tech come out to fix everytime!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

“Customer is not always right” ????On December 6, 2018 owner Jim Lyle stated in the showroom that “The Customer is not always right”. After making three additional trips to the store and not receiving the correct parts for my stove Jim refused to refund the parts. After arguing with this gentleman for over twenty minutes Jim finally decided to refund parts. As a business it is very unprofessional to argue with a customer over a return especially when they couldn’t get the parts ordered twice. I would not recommend this company and be cautious doing business with an owner who has an attitude such as this.

Went in to the store with checkbook in hand ready to buy an expensive fireplace. The sales guy was rude right from the start and when I told him I was from out of Albuquerque he said the installers wouldnt even go out of Albuquerque. I was buying a $6000 fireplace and they dont leave town to install it? I was willing and expected to pay the trip charges. After doing business with this company for 18 years I no longer recommend this business. Something has changed there for the worse.
