Dylan Knealing is a great technician for A1. He informed me of when he would be coming over to repair my garage door. He made sure that I knew of the charges for the repair and he finished in a timely manner. Very courteous and friendly. My experience with having Dylan repair my door was a great experience. I would rate him a 10 out of ten on the professionalism scale. I will call or request for him to repair or put in a new door.

Called A1 out to fix the issue with my sensors that multiple companies have been out to look at and cant seem to get figured. Dylan came out and was able to run through every diagnostic that could pin point the issue, he let me know that the motor was having issues running the door due to the age and it had been working at its maximum strength for too long and needed to be replaced. I had him replace the motor with a lift master from a genie I previously had and what a difference it made! Now I have a quiet opener and a door I can look forward to using whenever i need to, completely satisfied with the customer service and professionalism that Dylan and this company has provided me with. I Had Dylan from A1 out today to diagnose the issue with my opener being intermittent and he was very knowledgeable, he informed me the electronics were going bad and my best option would be is to replace the unit. He installed a dc motor because of the good features it came with as well as it being gentle with my door. He also replaced my plastic rollers and what a difference these two things made on my door, not ever did I expect a door to be this quiet! I would recommend Dylan and A1 to anyone who is looking for great customer service and fair pricing for good quality products.

Allen came out to help with a broken gear in a very old garage door opener. He said he was impressed at how long the old opener even worked (about 27 years!!!). He replaced the opener and given the age of everything, had to replace the spring and bearings too. He gave me lots of price options of the different models of openers and springs. Gave me information about each of the options before he replaced everything. I was SUPER impressed that he was able to complete the work today and that I didnt have to schedule for another appointment. He also inspected all other areas of the garage door to make sure things were all in working order. Although I had only hoped for a repair and not spending as much, Allen definitely took care of everything and I now have a quiet opener and i know that things are in working order.

Had an incident with our garage door which trapped our vehicle in the garage. I called A-1, who we purchased it from a few years ago. A-1 sent technician, Allen S. to work on the door. He was the best to work with. The door was damaged beyond repair but he was able to get it open to get our vehicle out and then shut it down and get it secured while we wait for our new door to arrive. Definitely would recommend A-1 and Allen to family and friends.

I’ll start off saying the tech who came out was very nice and polite. But I had to figure out what was wrong with the garage while he was going to completely miss it. Then when I asked could it be replaced he said no, he could attempt to fix it though. The trim they put in immediately tore and the top trim is not even properly installed and bends and bows out. When we attempted to call and possibly work with the company to fully replace the door they wouldn’t answer for weeks so we lost the 30 day period where the repairs could go towards a new door. The receptionist on the phone told us the part could have been replaced all along but they would charge us fully again for new service. They were super rude and showed they didn’t want to work with us. Sad to see customer service dead.

Jacob replaced both of our garage door openers. He was very polite, professional and worked quickly and effectively. Quality product. We love our new garage door openers. So much better than our old ones and SO quite!I know it doesnt rain much in New Mexico, but when it does, it tends to come under our garage door. A1 Garage Door Service is going to take care of this issue for us, also. They have ordered and will install Storm Shield. The garage door closes on it and seals out water and insects. Cant wait!They offer many options. Working with them has been a pleasure and I would recommend them to anyone looking to service or upgrade your garage doors.

A1 Garage Door Service was great! Dillon and Conlan not only identified the source of the problems we were having, but also noticed a couple more issues within five minutes of looking at it. They repaired several minor issues and then went through the bigger issues with us and what should be fixed, as well as the cost of those repairs. We didnt get the large repairs done today, but plan on having them come back at another time! There was no pressure from Dillon and Conlan to get the extra problems fixed today, which we really appreciate. I would definitely recommend them!

Michelle was the technician who replaced the springs. She is very knowledgeable and courteous in explaining the problem and resolutions for it. She gave me three options and took time to explain them to me. She never pressured me to make a decision and very patience. She was very efficient and thorough with the work. After the job was completed she explain regular maintenance that I should perform to keep the door operating properly. The 5 stars are for her. I am extremely pleased with the service and professionalism I experienced with A1. I highly recommend them! Well other companies advertised they have 24/7 service which actually turns out just to be a 24/7 scheduling service, A1 actually has 24/7 service and its a complete lifesaver. After overhead garage door company left me stuck with a broken garage door and never showed up, A1 showed up same day and immediately help me diagnose the problem and replaced my opener in that same visit. It was refreshing to see that they arrived in a work van, unlike other companies that charge you for a consultation and schedule work later. I called these guys yesterday evening with my garage door issues and was able to get squared away with a next morning appointment which was great. They also send you the name of your technician and provide a bio on him along with a photo so you know who to expect. I’ve never seen that before and I was thoroughly impressed that they would have that attention to detail on the customer service end. I met up with Dylan who called me 15 minutes out this morning which was very much appreciated, so I could be ready for when he showed. He showed up and was super personal and when he had me speaking to his fellow teammates about pricing and what they suggested after the on site check everything was professional and realistic. I wasn’t being pressured into anything financially which was nice, and Dylan was solid the whole time. Even when we ran into snags with my set up he just moved right into the next troubleshoot and got everything done. The service we got was top notch and it is very comforting to know that we have a lifetime warrantee from the awesome work that was done. As a homeowner it’s not worth settling for quick and temporary fix that you will end up having to pay for later on. Especially with such a commonly used entry/exit for the home. If youre looking for cheap this company isnt for you. Waited all day and technician came out in the last hour and starts telling me theres a shortage of torsion springs due to covid. Quotes me a high price because he doesnt have the 2 yr warranty springs. But tries to upsale to lifetime warranty ones for a little more. It just felt like theyre all working on commission and trying to sale you stuff you dont need. Granted price was high but I was desperate to get the garage fixed so I paid it . Technician did a good job, but like I said, it was a constant upsale battle with them.

I called because of a problem with what I thought was my garage door opener. Jacob came out, on time and looked everything over. He gave the garage door a tune-up and determined that my garage door opener was not the problem I thought it was. He fixed my problem much cheaper than the opener replacement I was expecting. During his inspection, he discovered that the spring had lost a bit of tension. After discussing it, I decided to have the spring replaced to avoid future problems. Jacob was not pushy and did not exaggerate the problem, which I appreciated very much! Once I decided to replace the spring, Jacob got to work and finished the job quickly. My garage door is working great now! I very much recommend A1 Garage Door Service and especially their technician Jacob! If I should ever need anything done with my garage door again, they will be the only company I call!

Edited: I had a conversation with the customer service manager who believes that my experience was not one that should be expected by others. The technician who worked on my house does not seem to be representative of the rest of the company.Called a1 because my garage door would regularly not close. I installed the garage door opener. Jimmy came out and took one glance and said I did a good job. He told me I had to replace the springs, rollers, the little cable that goes along the side... Pretty much everything. It cost about $1,250. After he left same problem. However, now there was a new problem. The garage door would fall off the tracks. Jimmy came back out and adjusted the door because he said there was too much daylight coming in from one side. Now there is a lot more daylight coming from another side and the door was still coming off. They sent another guy to fix that. Door still wouldnt close. I finally figured out one of the sensors was bad. I fixed that and all is good now. If you want to be scammed go with a1.

I recently purchased a house, and the garage door opener was no longer lifting the door open. I called A1 hoping for a tune up, or worst case I’d need to replace it. I was told it needed to be replaced, but it was way, way more expensive than I anticipated at more than $650. Because of this, I originally rated A1 with one star. However, after receiving a call from Bruce, I decided to change my rating to 4 stars and update my comments. Bruce reached out to me to find out how he could improve my experience with A1. Although I still wish I had been given a more reasonably priced and affordable option, overall, my technician did a good job with the installation, and Im sure I received a high quality product. My advice to anyone that needs to purchase a brand new opener from A1 is to insist on more options especially if you are just looking for a simple opener without all the bells and whistles, unless that is what you are wanting.

We want to recommend Jacob with A-1. He came out within an hour and had it all switched out in about an hour. He knew his stuff, did a good job and even did a few extra tweaks to the other door and the openers.

Sold a door that was assured was in-store and ready to be installed. 2 days away from installation, I was still calling to have the correct model number on invoice and to confirm installation. It became clear immediately to me that they didnt have the door in stock. The day before installation, they spoke with my wife and made a deal to install the wrong door until the right one comes in. I wanted to cancel the contract but here we are with the wrong door installed.While accidents happen, the lack of communication and professionalism were unacceptable.

I waited all day for them to come in the last hour they were scheduled.When they got here the problem was fixed very quickly. In their inspection they were trying to sell me more stuff than I needed saying I needed an additional spring told them door has been working fine for past 11 years not going to spend more money. After the Tech talked me he called his supervisor which the supervisor felt the need to tell me the exact sme thing which was a wast of all of our time. Will never hire A-1 again

He quoted me a price of $400+, when I told him I couldn’t afford that & asked him to help me open the garage to get my car out & I would call Doors by Nestor (not available on weekends), he said he would charge me for the service🤨 I am a senior in disability. I am grateful he fixed my garage for $276 on the weekend. But I would not refer or use this company again.

A1 customer service is very prompt to respond and get you taken care of. I like that they send a notification when the technician is on the way, including a picture of the tech. They resolved my issue quickly and got the door functioning properly. I have also had installs done and they were great.

He also was very informative and straightforward with my options for openers. There were several that would suit my needs and I went with one of the middle/higher options with more features, battery backup and a lifetime warranty. After the installation and testing, he even gave me recommendations for future maintenance and replacement of the door assembly when the time comes, along with ballpark prices for parts and labor.
