When I was notified our last eye doctor stopped taking my insurance, my husband and I both ended up making appointments at SVS in Allen Park. We made Saturday afternoon appointments back to back and was greeted by such an amazing office staff. They were friendly and knowledgeable while helping us both select a new pair of glasses.💗 Glad we both love our new Optical center!

Been a patient at this office for over 20 years …. The new staff is horrible… took my daughter for her first ever eye exam… no one there seems to have a clue what’s going on …. Can’t get a name correct ( I scheduled the appointment online by the way) …. Couldn’t find insurance …. Oh then when i questioned the copay for the exam I was told it’s because your insurance only covers exams that are under 40 dollars and was told I would have to pay the 65 for the exam then was told that is the price without insurance then was told it’s 50 all while I’m getting eye rolls and a snarky attitude…. All while there was no manager present….. bring the old staff back !!!!

My experience was here was awesome. Tricia and the other staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. they took the time out to help me pick out the perfect glasses! Definitely recommend.

There was an angel at this store with the most beautiful eyes, when we tried on my new glasses she asked me to look at her nose....I struggled to not just stare into her eyes! Her man is very lucky! Anyway doc was awesome,fast,efficient, very nice. Staff was outstanding. Follow what they ask you to do for covid safety and your good. This SVS got it right.

The Dr is very nice and the lady that was helping pick out glasses and measure was fantastic. Very personable and friendly. Helped both of us pick out glasses in far less time than when we do it on our own.

I just spoke with a lady on the phone trying to make an appointment for an eye exam and this lady was just rude. I understand that you all get calls all day and deal with the same things but normal people don’t make appointments for eye exams that often so office staff should be more patient and kind! I told the lady never-mind and hung up. You had one job to do, that’s get the customer in and you failed. Fix your attitude.

Went there to get eye exam/test & needed slightly stronger lens, so got new glasses,really loved the frames I picked and my insurance covered everything there,100%!!! Made me happy!!! Great place to go to get eye test & pick out contact lens or glasses🌝

I went and had my eye exam at which time we ordered my glasses. My experience in store was fantastic. Super helpful and friendly. I was told 7-10 days to receive my glasses. I called the next morning to see about adding transitional to my lenses and was told that might add another day or 2. It’s been 2 weeks, and they still have no ideal when I will get them because my frame is on back order. The problem is I’m having a lot of trouble seeing while driving which can be quite dangerous. I just want to be able to see. Now when I call to ask about them no one can tell me when I will get them. Had they told me they were out of stock I would have chosen something different. The glasses are paid for with the exception of the portion I added over the phone which I offered to pay for right then. I asked about different frames a week after I originally ordered them and they told me it would delay the process even further. I just want to be able to see and get the glasses that I and my insurance has already paid for. I’m going to have to file a complaint if I don’t get help soonUpdate 2/16/21 I called and spoke with someone yesterday who was very helpful in solving my problem. To be clear, my issue was more with your lab. If a product isn’t available and they don’t know when it will be, they should make a point to let the opticians know so they can give the customer a different option if they want one. As I stated above, my experience in store was fantastic. Everyone was very nice, and really helpful.***2/24/21 going on a month and still no glasses. What the heck is up with this place

My appointment was easy to make, I did not have to wait long to see the doctor and staff was helpful in helping me decide on née frames. They also had procedures in place for social distancing and foe cleaning the sample frames.

This place is the best out there when it comes to SVS Visions, the staff takes all precautions to keep themselves and you safe in this time with covid, the eye doctor is good at his job and is nice, he gets you in and out and explains your results, I was also helped by a staff member that not only gave me the best deals but was honest about how I looked so that I could look my best, feel my best and be happy with the my choice before leaving.

We have been going to the Allen Park location since about 2011. They take good care of our family. The doctor is very thorough and listens to our concerns. They also have a good selection of frames!

There is always 2 sides to a story for these reviews, but after 8 years at this location and being hung up on by Annette me and my family will not be back to this location or an Svs for that matter. It’s seems that Annette has a lot of complaints on here about her customer service and pushy personality but seems to still work there. I will call Tina the office Manager on Monday and give her a step by step explanation as to what had taken place. Annette really needs to watch how she communicates with people. I am allowed to get upset when you are not wanting to speak with me on the phone while I hear you trying to up charge the exam when I specifically called in to Svs and confirmed that there would be no contact fitting at the appointment. This location really needs to take these comments into consideration and take a real good look at how their staff affect their business.Jn

Sells cheap quality frames. Mine glass arms got loose within 8 months from purchase and it is not not fixing properly. not recommend.

Lazy staff. Called to see what insurance covered. Wouldnt even tell me. Kept stating it depends on my plan. Well no duh. Thats why I am calling to see. Extremely rude and sarcastic.

Been a customer for over 20 years called this morning made a appointment for Allen Park get there the lady says I didnt make a appointment for that office it was for a different office so I go back home hit redial on my phone and it calls the same lady in Allen Park dont know what happened but I wont be going back, could have easily seen I had always been to that location but it was better to tell me I made mistake when I did not

Dr is great. Only do business when Tina works there. She is the only one who cares for you and wants to help you

I was extremely pleased the first time I had gone to the SVS in Allen Park about three years ago. I continue to go there because they have one of the nicest office staffs, a pleasant waiting area, & they definitely continue to do an exceptional job at handling my progressive eyeglasses & sunglasses. I highly recommend them & have, as my father, son, & niece now all go there too.

SVS Vision Optical Centers Allen Park and in Detroit on Mack Ave have been very kind, courteous and helpful. I needed to make an earlier appointment and they helped out. 5 stars to these places. I have been to a few other optometrist that require an eye glass exam, SVS does not, which is good for those that must pay out of pocket for two exams.

Staff is very friendly. I always feel like I have gotten the best service & am satisfied with the options I am offered by the personal service person who helps me. The DR. is very thorough & very helpful. I have cataracts & he explained them to me. The frames are quality & if I need the ear piece adjusted it is done to my satisfaction. They make me feel like family. Give this Allen Park office of SVS Vision a try!

Angelica is the best! Not my usual SVS but bc of an emergency I stopped in today. Not only was she super friendly, she went above & beyond to help me out. I really hope you guys pay attention to customer service & bc she was by far the nicest person in there. Even heard another lady telling her she could ask the doctor for what I needed but they didn’t have it. Well guess what, Angelica made it happen. Hopefully someone sees this & she can get the recognition she deserves! SVS is a great eye care company, & the people standing behind it say everything. ❤️

I arrived late, and they STILL managed to see me and my 2 boys quickly. This was my 6 year olds first exam, and the ladies were kind to all of us and made it easy for him to make it through the process smoothly. Dr is really pleasant and very knowledgeable

Best customer service. The staff is very nice and helpful. Been going to this svs for a long time. They make sure you are happy and comfortable in your glasses and contacts. They explain your insurance benefits to you and help out the best way possible. I had a problem with my new glasses and Kym helped me find the best frame for me and made sure I didnt settle.

I have been wearing glasses since the age of 8 months and this was by far the best eye doctor Ive ever seen. He was honest.. Almost brutal. But I appreciated it. He educated me more than anyone that worked there before. Staff was great and super friendly. It was the first time I left an eye glass store and felt confident. Had to leave a review because I really was happy.

We trust Dr. Vicky Kelly. She is thorough, gentle, and conscientious. Most of the other staff are sincerely helpful, too. Price of glasses and contacts are just as high as other places, but that is par with the optical industry. I know we could order cheaper online, but I am willing to pay full price for perfectly measured lenses--- since I have to use them every day...

Everything about this place is awesome! You are seen on time for your scheduled appointment, the doctor and the staff are all super nice and helpful, and the selection of frames is great. They also went that extra mile when my phone died and a staff member let me use her charger. My daughter and her family also comes here and they also recommend SVS in Allen Park.

Front Desk ladies are rude. They dont look at you when you talk to them and instead they talk to each other. Customer service is very bad, you dont feel you are welcome over there. They changed my prescription twice and I still cant see properly, and getting head-aches and vision distortion. Never going there back again.

Everyone I talked with or received information from was friendly, respectful and professional in their job. My wife will need glasses soon, and we will be returning to SVS in Allen Park.I returned 4-5 days later to get my prescription sunglasses (I love them!) and about a week later to get my regular ones-- great fit, great care, great job!

The Dr. Hamer is great. Knows his stuff and really explains things well. I Take my whole family and my kids love him. The other staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to others.

I liked this place. Staff was nice. The Dr was super nice.The only things I didnt like were that even though they have a lot to choose from, I dont think they have enough. I only had a hand full of of choices that my insurance covered, so not a lot to choose from. Of course i had more choices, but I would have to pay for it and theyre a little expensive.I also chose to have my glasses thinned out, since I am super blind. But getting that was also a little pricey.So other than the staff being nice, there isnt something really keeping me going to this place in the future. I was looking for a more afordable place and didnt find it. And well my options were very limited with my insurance, so price and variarity were the ones taking 2 stars away.

I was running late for my appointment. I was still able to keep my appointment. Staff was very friendly and understanding. I had forgot to get my previous glasses and they got sent back. I thought I had lost my money, they still applied my payment plus gave 50% on the next 2 pair I purchased. I got my glasses in less than a week. Very happy!!

Service was good . Wish my Lil one would come in a get his eyes checked but Ill work him up to it. Hr has high functioning Autism. So Ill get him in to see eye doc one day.

Was put on hold twice for a total of 10 minutes until the line auto redialed for the second time and disconnected. .. not a great impression. Second time I called the lady was very helpful though and didnt put me on hold. I was able to schedule an appt no problem.

Very nice employees and doctors. Many choices and they are super helpful when CHOOSING frames. Too many places dont care what frames you get!They also have a 45 day guarantee if you dont like your frames they will change them for you 💙

Great care services. Designer frames can get quite expensive, but there is a wide selection for any budget. I dont know if I just have bad luck, but I always seem to have to wait longer than the quoted time of 2 weeks for my frames and have to call to see if they are ready. Ive bought them at all times of the year in the 3 times I have been gone there so I dont think the fact that I waited until December this year when everyone is trying to use their insurance at the end of the year has anything to do with this delay.

I love it there only problem I have is one of the employees always finds a way to get me to spend more money than I originally plan to spend. Maybe because its more beneficial for her pockets. She pretends to be saving me money but in the end someone else there always suggests a way I could have saved my money. I hope she isnt trying to take advantage of my kind nature. However the staff is super friendly, polite and very eager to help. You never need an appointment because youll be in and out in no time. i am overly satified with the optical options and overall service.

The Dr. was very friendly, professional and efficient. Also, they were the only center I could find open late on Friday. I highly recommend them.

My experience was positive. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The opthalmologist was professional and helpful. My lack of a 5th star was one woman on staff who, made a condescending noise in regards to a customer who was in a hurry. The customer wasnt talking to her and didnt ask for her help. Another staff member addressed her and wasnt given the chance to finish her sentence before the woman had rushed back out. The woman was short but not rude and just stated she was in a hurry. The staff member (making the noise) appeared annoyed with it. Just felt it was unprofessional to react that way.Update 2021, current available staff was much nicer. Although a little pushy on the sale I was please in the end. One thing I will add is the extras they added without asking, but mentioned after I was paying.ALWAYS ASK THE CUSTOMER.

In my personal opinion. I don’t like this place. I didn’t feel welcomed. And I recommend that you Don’t waste your time or effort. With the exception of one person, the staff was very pushy. I got an eye exam the doctor recommended some prescription glasses and I told the doctor I can’t see that well in the right eye he said “you will not get it 100% maybe 98%”. The next week I picked my glasses and I felt like my old glasses were way better. I told the staff and they recommend to do another eye exam. Which is fine people make mistakes. I came back for another eye exam but I was a little less than 10 min late. The staff Annette told me that I am too late “more than 10 mins late” and I am looking at my watch and I was saying in my head “are you serious?” I didn’t feel like arguing with her and decided to do a reschedule. While I am leaving she said “if you work with us we will work with you”. I am sitting in my car thinking, I have been working with you, i paid 600 dollars for 3 glasses and contact lenses and I almost got into a car accident because of the wrong prescription glasses you gave me . And I still said it’s ok I take off work and re-do the eye exam. People make mistakes and my mistake that I was less than 10 min late WORK WITH ME!!!

The staff, some of them are really nice but others can be very rude and try to charge more than what it actually is. It takes forever to get your glasses, it can take up to almost month. The experience that i have had with my family was my grandma got a pair of glasses but she couldnt see out of them. She had to have them fixed up to 4 times until she was actually able to see out of them. My uncle had a similar experience where he was supposed to have thin lenses but his lenses were as thick as a fish bowl. He said that it was like looking through a fish bowl. The eye doctor was extremely nice but like i said earlier, some of the staff can be very slow and some can try to over charge us. my insurance covers my glasses and the lady tried to charge us 40 bucks for my glasses. if i had a choice i would never go back there. With such a terrible service and some of the staff being terrible i would never recommend this location to anyone. I would try going to a different eye doctor place if you live in allen park.Update: My uncle had to wait 3 weeks for his glasses because the lab broke one of his lenses while they were making them. In all honesty, they need an entire new staff, lab and eye doctors.

The manager and staff at SVS went out of their way to help me out of a jam! Im here in Michigan on vacation, and found that I accidentally packed zero dailies total contacts for my left eye and double for my right!! With just a simple phone call and a fax from my doctor in NY, SVS provided me with enough contacts for the rest of my trip!! Thanks again SVS!!!

Had a great experience at this location, the employees were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. Normally I go to the Plymouth location but will definitely be coming to Allen Park from here on out.

Annette needs customer service classes, she has been rude every time I’ve talked to her on phone.

The eye doctor was extremely rude, both times that Ive gone. He made me feel extremely uncomfortable with any question that I asked, he seemed upset answering them. Both times Ive had disappointing visits, i honestly DO NOT recommend this place to anyone ! Im definitely switching eye doctors and location.

Manager was rather impatient and rude. Its 2019. One would think customer service is a bit more refined at such a place.

Everything was awesome here. Quick service, knowledgeable employees, accepted my insurance and clean store. Doctor explained my vision problems clearly and was caring and patient.

My 2nd pair of glasses with this place is like the sequel to a movie nightmare PART II. Have seen 2 eye doctors... recd 2 different prescriptions for the same eyes...then last night Maria bends my new Nike frames with her hands with no heat on the plastic then causing a buckle in the arm and hardware I did not notice until I got home...literally the display frames are better. Never go back.

Me and my son was treated so well here . the doctor was nice and when my son was scared to get in the chair to get his eyes checked he was kind and made my son comfortable . all the ladies there were also so kind.

The doctor that did my eye exam was very friendly & so was the rest of the staff & they had a wide selection of frame brands & styles which I really liked.

Experience in store is fine but this will be the second time this year Im going to have to replace my glasses because the plastic arm frame broke off and isnt a small thing that just can be fixed the entire frame will have to be replaced and because of my insurance I dont have much verity and cant afford to go out of my insurance range

Ive gone to this location since I was 4 years old (now 28) never once have I gotten glasses back sooner than 3 weeks, sometimes as long as 5-6 weeks. I never went anywhere else because I thought that was the norm. I went to the SVS in Adrian Mi because I moved, and it took them 3 business days to get me my glasses. Never again wIll I go back to waiting a month for glasses. Absolutely rideculous.

Worst customer service! Walked in to get my son glasses, he had a current script that was about to expire and said let me get him a new script since the store was EMPTY and optmologist was doing nothing, the woman said no available appointments. I told her but no one is here and u guys are not busy, check up shouldnt take more than 10 mins, she said we have a schedule. STORE WAS EMPTY ON A HOT SUNDAY AFTERNOON!!!!

I had a horrible experience... The guy who does the exams was so rude!! I almost wanted to slap him... He was by far the rudest eye dr Ive EVER been to! And for the staff the front desk lady is nice but the ones who help you choose the glasses are also rude and pushy! I finally got rude right on back with all of them! Wont be back and I dare my glasses to be wrong when I pick them up! Ill throw a Fit!
