Not my obsession, $10.00 per person is outlandish. Besides a 3 year old would lose interest after 10 minutes of a 45 minute tour.....
We had a newer tour guide. Honestly, he was awful. He kept saying things like “that’s what the trolls use to hit little kids in the head. They eat little kids..” and so on. He scared our daughters multiple times with his inappropriate jokes. At one point he showed the girls trolls that had lighters and asked them “do either of you smoke” …they are 4 and 5 years old. He was talking about how the one troll was drunk. He kept getting upset because our daughters weren’t interested in a history listen.. the older lady downstairs was not friendly. Seems as though they are not fans of children.
Took our grandkids here today for the first time! Awesome experience! This gem looks small but it isn’t. Worth taking the guided tour and to get something to drink(smoothie). Owner was amazing and I hope she infects downtown Alliance with her energy and enthusiasm! Thank you both for a wonderful time!
I was an over the road chick truck driver just exploring the local area, where I found this gem of a museum. The owners were so sweet I thought they would bake me cookies like family! They have HUNDREDS (to say the least) of trolls and were ordering more while I was there! We talked about troll lore and theories and it made my month being there! These family owned businesses are what kept me sane when I lived on the highway. Much respect and love ❤️
The troll hole was a amazing Place very fun and kid friendly I would highly suggest bringing the kiddos for a fun little afternoon Adventure
A very unique experience! Truely one of a kind place and great if you love the strange and unusual. The only bad part is your kids will want to touch everything and they cant. I was also disappointed that after we paid my son was too scared to go through so he and my husband just stayed in the gift shop the entire time and werent offered a refund. The woman who owns the place doesnt seem like a kid person either, which is strange for someone who owns a toy museum. She would probably have more returning customers if she were a bit more friendly and polite but maybe she was having a bad day....
This place is fun to visit the tea was great
This is an awesome place! It took me back to my childhood and made me fall in love with troll dolls all over again. The employees were so nice and accommodating. The owner also owns a Cat Cafe right around the corner that was neat too.
The troll hole is such a fun place to go to learn about troll dolls, troll lore and mythology, and just have a great time! The staff are all super informative, hospitable, and clearly love trolls (may even be trolls themselves!). Highly recommend for all ages, definitely worth going out of your way for a stop!
Maybe our tour guide had a bad day or maybe she was just intolerant of us. I was there with my coworker and two of our clients. My client was afraid of her dogs. I informed her of this. Instead of putting them away, she carried them with her in her bag and my client was in fear during the whole tour. We did not get much from the tour, She seemed in a hurry to get us out of there! I did not appreciate her intolerance of our presence. I will consider this a place that does not welcome certain types of people.she seemed in a hurry to get
Unique, fun, and very different kind of adventure. Gift shop amazing! Displays are incredibly artistic and detailed. Great for kids and adults who want to take a walk down memory lane.
A very fascinating place...plan on going back
This is an interesting and quirky stop to make on a road trip. It is literally the home and display of those long haired troll toys. All are owned by a woman who holds the world record for having the most individual troll dolls. There is a tour of the collection with history of where trolls come from as well as a fair amount handcrafted trolls from different artists. The gift shop was boutique‐esk full of nik-naks. How many times have I said troll?..... troll.
First time visiting. Awesome tour. Worth to get the historical experience.
We had a great time.. Never knew there was so many different kinds of trolls. Our guide was friendly. Defiantly will come back again
A really great place to stop at. Its a fun tour through the worlds largest collection of trolls dolls and the history of troll lore. Theyre also in the process of upgrading a portion of it and renewing their Guiness certification. Theres not currently much more to see in the area but theyre also in the process creating some more attractions around there which sound pretty fun once completed.
It is a fantastic experience. Much more to see than you think. A fun atmosphere, positive vibes and you can shop for your troll fix whether youre young or old. Also able to grab your troll coffee or teas. Add to the experience and check out Wisecracks Comedy Escape Room or Mad Dogs/Crazy Cats. You wont regret a minute of it!
Cool place to check out
Most underrated leisure destination in Alliance? I think so! Troll hole museum is so much fun, and a must for kids and parents alike! Gift shop, cafe, museum its all great. Take a stroll through the troll hole and have fun!
Beautiful, loving, caring and dedicated to not only the magical world of trolls but to cats that need homes. They are happy, healthy, safe, and at home.
Great place friendly staff. A must see while in the canton akron area
It was very interesting and had a lot of history in it. I especially liver the amount or rocks and stones in there as well and their different uses
The Troll Hole was a great experience. Our tour guide was full of knowledge and we learned a lot of fun facts. The displays are so intricate and the collection is massive.
My granddaughter wanted me to see the Trolls and they brought back lots of memories 💜
I cannot express how much fun the troll hole museum is! We had a blast learning about all the different mythology and lore from all the different countries and seeing all the different types of troll dolls!
What a great little spot! Visited from out of Ohio, and so glad we stopped here. Sherry was fantastic and gave a great tour. Lots and lots to see, fun stories, and really interesting facts. Highly recommend as a must see if in the area!!
This place surpassed my expectations. It was worth the 4 hour drive round trip! I highly recommend this unique experience.
Great little place to go. Awesome collection and very knowledgeable and friendly staff
Very unexpected really in all the best ways. Expected just the troll doll museum, got to learn the ancient folklore and crypto status of real life trolls. Amazing experience. Totally recommend.
Very interesting. Large collection of just about any Troll doll made. Grouped nicely so that you could enjoy the evolution of them. Learned all about the history of Trolls. Yes they do exist!!!Grandkids (5 thru 11) loved the tour. 5 kids, 3 adults $60. Well worth it. Will be going back to shop at their store. So many fun and unique items for gifts.
Great place and fun for the whole family! Definitely check it out!
This place is truly a hidden gem! It’s packed full of trolls of all shapes, sizes, and colors. The employees are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the collection as well as various myths and legends. The tour was very informative, interesting, and fun. I was also excited to see the trolls from my childhood on sale in the gift shop.
The museum was a lot of fun. It was neat to learn how trolls are viewed in various cultures. Be sure to send all your unwanted trolls to them!
Very interesting! Rooms full of trolls. Spend the money and take the full tour. An wonderful weird place in an obviously distressed Ohio city.
Very neat and unique place. Would love to go back but would like to have a different your guide. The old lady we had was very rude. We were rushed through our tour because about 10 minutes in, another lady told our tour guide that a couple of troll fanatics had just came in, so we were very rushed as to get done for this couple to start their tour. We barely got to look at anything because as soon as she was done quickly explaining a room, we were shoved into the next room, without being able to read anything or look at anything. The tours are supposedly 45 minutes and ours was for sure not 45 minutes, maybe 20 minutes, not 45. Very rushed and, we rude. Also had a 4 year old and a 5 year old with us, and they were charged different amounts, even though the sign at the front says children 3-5 were $3, she said it was 3-4. She couldnt add things up right, it took just as long to check out with our souvenirs as it did to take the tour. This is a very interesting place, just wish I would have been able to take in more of it without being rushed through.
The museum was what I expected, which isnt a bad thing. What made it fun was our guide (with the beard). He knew everything about everything troll and we learned a lot. Keep up the town revitalization effort. This is worth a stop as it is certainly unique. Dog friendly certainly helped as we could get ours out of the house.
Fun stop and interesting museum! Great gift shop
Unique experience, one of a kind. If you are aTroll collector its a must see.
We had a wonderful time at the Troll Hole! Susan was an absolute delight and gave the most entertaining tour. We loved the political humor and are still laughing about it a day later. Thank you for a fun afternoon!
While I was in town for work, I needed to kill some time my last day in town and after googling what I could do, I landed up at the Troll Hole. I had low expectations going in, but I never would have guessed how awesome this place turned out to be. They have a guided tour that lasts about 45 minutes and it is extremely informative. They not only talk about trolls as the toy, but also history, mythology, etc.I definitely recommend checking this place out if you have the time to do so!
Largest display of trolls. Great tour with lots of information and history of trolls.
Awesome . Ill definitely visit again. My granddaughter loved it.
Had an awesome time on the tour of the Worlds Largest Troll Collection. Not only is it HUGE but we also learned a lot of the history, geography and old folklore about Trolls, Which was very informative.Thousands of great items to purchase in their gift shop & handcrafted beverages too!Thank you Sherry & your staff for making our visit so fun!!
We took three children, ages 3 & 4 & 5, to the museum and signed up for the tour. Interesting facts for the adults. Lots to look at for the little ones. They loved hunting for the secret doors! We will go back.
Looks like a lot of fun. Cant wait for the Grandchildren to use the gift certificates
Just happened to stumble across this little gem. We didnt have time for the tour, which we WILL go back for, but had coffee and a waffle at the snack bar. Very very cool place to visit.
We had fun learning about the history of trolls and seeing the different types of trolls. Our tour guide even had a great way of keeping smaller children engaged in the tour. And of course seeing thousands of trolls lined up was super fun!
Tour was very wonderful! I’ve seen a couple of reviews complaining about the cost but you definitely get your money’s worth, and at $10 it’s not bad at all considering Ive paid more to sit and watch a movie I’m a theater. The tour itself is very informative. It was really neat to learn all about where the trolls originated from and how they changed over the years. I can’t wait to come back again and try the coffee! There were trolls in every corner of the museum even outside the building. I really loved the “spot the trolls” where it had trees and 50 trolls you can find inside. The dogs were cute and the owner was very knowledgeable about every troll she had. It’s really amazing to know too that troll lovers from even other countries have come to see this museum, people have donated their trolls to know that they’re going to a good home and being well taken care of and enjoyed by many people.
Never been inside this place, bout the outside and property looks amazing!
This is a fun place to take older children but could be scary for the little ones. Over 8000 trolls in one place is quite overwhelming. Our tour guide was very informative and congenial. The kids had a great time in the gift shop as well.
What fun! Doesnt just have those neon-haired plastic toys. Goes through the history of trolls through a guided tour. A lot more to see than one would think. And theres a coffee shop, too.
The Troll Hole Museum is a great place to go with ages 8+! They have an amazing collection of troll dolls and give a great tour! The staff is friendly and they have a nice gift shop so you can take home a souvenir! :)
Very interesting and in depth tour! Way more than I really expected, fair price for all that is in the museum, and how much there is. The drinks were great too, as good as and even better than some other coffee shops in the area. Great place to visit, gonna go again!
Good place for a short afternoon adventure. We arent really into trolls but the trip was worth it just to see some of the interesting art if nothing else. They have a whole room of trolls hidden amongst forestry and another with a beautiful bridge leading to a gold room. The staff were very friendly and the guy giving the tour was very knowledgeable. It was also neat to see toys from my childhood. The tour ended by eating a chocolate troll which gave me giggle. Very creative way of tying in the trolls movie and ending the tour in a fun way.
I got trolled!!1!
We were there 2 days before Christmas. And plan to come back!! Enjoyed it so much came with 12 family members. Highly recommend a visit to it ! Truly a must see!!!
I have been here a few times and every time I come its nice and inviting. The staff is really wonderful and the coffee tastes great! I think its one of those places you at least need to experience once.
Kids had a blast and it was interesting for us adults as well. We enjoyed the tour. Both women that were involved with our tour were friendly and knowledgeable. You will enjoy it and the kids will love it.
Found by complete accident and an hour and a half later, we realized it was one of favorite stops on our weekend trip. The curator is COMPLETELY into this which makes it even cooler. More Troll stuff than I knew existed. WELL WORTH a stop !
If stairs are hard for you to climb this will not be the place for you. But if you do not have a mobility issue and you love trolls. This is the place. The place doesnt look like much when you first go in but once the tour starts you see some truly amazing displays.I would go back again if I lived closer
Loved the Troll hole, so many trolls. I especially like the art work and folklore! And the hidden trolls in the rocks exhibit!
Truly one of the great museums of Ohio. Very entertaining and visionary, crafted with obvious love and passion for the subject. Would recommend to anyone, even if Troll Dolls arent something on their radar.
Fun place. Cant believe the amount of trolls theyve crammed in here. It was fun learning the history.
Fantastic. You just have to see it. Go to Buddies Good to Go to eat afterwards.
Great little museum. They have a nice little waffle/drink place inside.
Relly neat place so many trolls as a kid my mother used to collect them my dad every payday would take mom to Halmark store and let her pick the one she wanted even then 92 93 ish they cost almost 20 bucks new! Its so crazy to see so many trolls in 1 room definitely a cool stop if you have a young kid or just want a little trip back to there childhood
Really cool place. I expected the tour to be shorter than it was but it was actually very extensive, tons of great information, funny stories, and alot of cool stuff on display! I suggest checking this place out if you are in the area.
Very unique place. My daughter loved it. Im not sure the tour needed to be as long as it was.
What a wonderful museum. Learned alot about the legend of trolls. Take the tour and buy a troll to take home or give as a gift. Loved the museum!
Weird and wacky but the kids love it and it has become a staple of downtown Alliance, OH
Great museum with a fun gift shop and good coffee. If you’re in northeast Ohio this is a must see.
Awesome trolls and atmosphere. Very friendly.. drinks as good as Starbucks. Cute doggies there too:)
Very cool place, my daughters (11 and 8) both enjoyed this place
My 8 yrs old enjoyed it, though I cant say I appreciated the political slant on one of the exhibits and the tour guide explaining Trolls are thought of as being mean and evil. Thats why some politicians make good trolls!
Neat little place. They have coffee and snacks. If youre into trolls it wouldve been even better
We loved this entertaining and educational troll experience!
Did not get to take the tour, but the people at the museum are delightful and make a good cup of coffee.
Great place to come for unusual home indoor and exterior decorations and well as some super coffees and teas.
They are so amazing and nice. Love the coffee, the pizzelles are to die for. The atmosphere is so beautiful.
Very nice place. The people there are very nice and knowledgeable about the facts of trolls and everything in there.
Lots of fun and interesting gifts in the shop. I didnt see the museum part.
