Used books, delicious coffee, live piano, and a cozy atmosphere. Be still our hearts! If only if we could sit down then they’d basically have to have dragged us out of this place. :)Fantastic place to hang out for a couple of hours and browse books (and purchase many) and me sip on a Vanilla Bean Latte (splurged with the flavor and it resulted in a delectable dessert).I’m always puzzled by people who don’t keep books they’ve purchased. But I also adore them cause then I can buy, read, and enjoy them (and keep them until death do me apart from them). We were in town to eat at our favorite Greek restaurant and needed a place to shelter from the rain and wind and this bookstore-coffee combo absolutely hit the spot. Will definitely be back the next time our adventures takes us this way. They had figgy buns and Rosemary sea salt rolls that looked and sounded delicious, but have to save my appetite for Greek food.I’m usually just a plain old latte person, but I was intrigued by “vanilla bean” and the simple syrup they make is much better than the usual coffee shop syrups. I’m happy I splurged and tried it. The foam on top was simply the best I’ve sipped.-TheHikingBookworms

This is the best kind of used book store. The books were well organized by category. The selection was exactly what I look for in a used bookstore: lots of interesting looking books with a high percentage that Ive never heard of before. I managed to escape with only four books (well, 6 if you count the two my partner got...)

Great little book store with books for everyone. I am nearly done putting together my third series and working on two others, all just by checking in whenever Im on town to see if they have anything new that I need. Everyone that Ive spoken with while there have been very friendly and Ive never heard any complaints. Anybody I hear mention that they ar were looking for any type if book I send here, usually with great results.

Apparently I ordered form this cute shops amazon profile! The care they took in wrapping it and placing the bookmark inside really made my day! Ill likely never get to stop in and see the place, or meet the person who wrapped my book up for me, but it so cool to know my used copy of Authentic Victorian Dressmaking Techniques came from such a cool place!

A great, organized source for used books! After browsing online, a helpful bookseller, Eli, took my payment over the phone for my order and got it shipped out that day. Package arrived days earlier than expected and was wrapped very thoughtfully. Each book was wrapped in protective paper individually and the unboxing felt like opening several gifts.

Best book store Ive visited in a long time, its a clean organized used book store with fair prices, wide varieties of book genres and friendly staff 10/10 would recommend. I collect cloth bound books and am always on the look out for good solid used book stores and can see myself visiting this one often despite the long drive to get there.

I LOVE this bookstore! They have a great selection, and informative and kind staff. Wow, what a place for USED books. Like a Powells for Anacortes, only really clean, cozy and conscientiously organized. This place compliments the Wonderful bookstore for New books down the street called Watermark. My only, small complaint about Pelican Bay is that I cannot find many books on local history. Also, just a reminder, authors get no royalties or any sort of payment with your purchase of used books.

One of the towns best businesses and most popular. Open, airy used bookstore with a coffee bar and lots of nooks and crannies to hide yourself away with a good book and warm beverage for a while. There is a public piano and childrens section. There is a large table areas for group meet-ups.The coffee bar hosts homemade goodies and very well done espressos. The store will also take used books and give you store credit if you are interested in making a trade. You must make an appointment with the owner if you have a large amount of books to trade in. I know why this store has 5 star reviews! I called them looking for a book which they did not have. I was surprised to receive a call back a little later telling me that the book was originally published under a different title. They still did not have the book so this was not about a sale! They knew I was calling around looking for the book and they knew that information might help me find it!BAM! That is OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Im a huge fan of this place and definitely a repeat customer, despite not even living here. They have coffee, tea, etc, and its all excellent. Arguably, the best in town.I regularly buy their cookies & other savory breads. Staff at the coffee bar and at book checkout came across reserved and suspicious of clientele. Weird, I thought. The tiny rhubarb bundt cake was dry and my cappuccino was lukewarm. At the book checkout they have small Pelican Bookstore book markers with delightful quotes on them. However, I could not choose just one. After picking out 10 of them and showing them to the checkout clerk, he said: Oh, and do you have books to use those in? He said this in a not very friendly way. I explained that I had many, many books myself but that I also had friends that loved to read and each book mark quotation had reminded me of a different friend I wanted to give a book mark to. This bookstore has a huge selection of books, new and used. My experience there did not feel welcoming or fun.
