Staff harassed my wife because her mask was not above her nose despite her medical condition. Exercised our freedom of choice and purchased a +$2,000.00 Jura coffee machine online instead.

Inventory was good, (older) sales staff was snooty and/or standoffish, service was perfunctory. Ill be shopping online for housewares, rather than purchasing here.

If youre looking for that special item for the kitchen or home then you must visit Metro Cooks. They literally have everything and maybe items you didnt know you wanted! The only downside are the prices, not cheap, but the goods are quality. I do recommend visiting and stay for while.

I messaged ahead on Facebook inquiring as to whether the carried a couple of items I was looking for. The owner replied with the information I needed and referred me to someone on their team. When I showed up to the store, the team members working there were very polite and professional and were able to help me out quickly. Overall, a wonderful shopping experience!

I was just going in today on February 19, 2021 to spend $450 on a LaCrusett Dutch oven for a birthday gift. Wearing an ADA approved face shield, which I also wear in the gym without issue, the lady at the door told me I could not come in with a shield on. I told her it was ADA approved she said I can give you a mask. I said thanks but no thanks I’ll spend my $450 somewhere else. I wouldn’t go here personally due to this and they just lost a sale and I will tell everyone I know to not shop here.They are not the only game in town. I find it amazing that I can go to the gym and everywhere else I go for the last eight months with a face shield on yet cannot enter this overpriced “woke” store, even after folks are getting vaccinated and they are wearing the diaper. Give me a break.

Best cookware store in town. 95% of the time that got exactly what Im looking for. Its a bit pricey but thats to be expected since its a specialty store.

Looks cute but prices are over marked up by sometimes close to DOUBLE the cost elsewhere. For example, you can get something as basic as any of the Lodge Cast Irons for $20-30 cheaper at Freddies or REI or literally anywhere else.And that was far from the only thing I found way out of normal price range; Google it yourself when youre there if you dont believe it.I want to support small business, but when you make it beyond financially inaccessible and uninclusive even for common brand items, it makes it incredibly unappealing to do so.

Excellent selection of high-level kitchen gear, and a nice selection of cards and gifts, too! Not a place to go for cheap knives or cookware that’ll fall apart in five years. The brands carried here are expensive but will last for decades.

The middle aged balding effeminate Asian Man was absolutely unpleasant. He was condescending. He spoke as if he couldn’t be bothered to help me as a client. I had already picked out over 100 dollars in merchandise and he treated me like I was a vagrant loitering in his store. The store is absolutely lovely. The wide selection is amazing, but the way this man behaved makes me uncomfortable with going back. I feel dirty from the interaction.

Great variety of cookware, and gifts for everyone in the family. Almost everything you can get for what you need. They should utilize upstairs more, maybe trade used small kitchen appliances. Worth a try if you need to get some gifts for someone. Many alaskan theme gifts too.

Metro Cooks has been a staple of Anchorage for a long time and I will be lost without it. Always great customer service, great prices, and a huge variety of everything and anything you every want. Great kitchen water for the prep as well!

Came into store today, was told I could not shop in the store without a mask. Stated that I cannot breathe with a mask over my mouth and nose. Was again told I could not shop in store without one. Turned around and left. Spent my $$$$ in another store. Lost a $200+ sale. Won’t be visiting that store again

This is the place in Anchorage to go for any kitchen and cooking gadget. I bought an aebelschiver pan here and have been enjoying them on weekends for breakfast. The prices are a little bit higher than other places, but the quality is also there. You will get what you pay for and the service is okay too. There are friendly staff making rounds, but not too pushy.

Best kitchen store in Alaska.

While shopping for a gift for a family friend, I was the only customer in the store. The employee followed me around and watched me as I walked to my car from the store door. As an Alaska Native teen, I felt as if she was profiling me and judging me upon my appearance, assuming I was going to shoplift. I was very upset by her mistrust and judgment despite me just browsing the store.
