If you take scrap gold here be prepared for them not to tell you the weight of your gold and then offer you 45% of the value. I wish someone reviewed before I went. Will never go back. People are having hard time right now and its just more of sticking it to the little guy. Dont sell raw gold here, they will charge you high assaying fees which is ridiculous. Not to mention they want a high percentage if you sell it to them.Best place to sell raw gold is at the Alaska mint or at NTR.Oxford is just like a pawnshop.

I have been a customer of Oxford for many years and have always received exceptional service and fair prices from them. However, the other day my wife, who is not from here and has never sold gold or purchased gold except for at retail prices, went in to sell some of her old scrap gold jewelry and I was in utter disbelief at what they offered her. Maybe its because the price of gold is currently quite high, or maybe it was because she wasnt a local, but forty percent of current scrap prices is unacceptable. I understand that they need to make something off of what they purchase but for them to take sixty percent of the value is just not right. I will probably give them another chance, but if that is their standard cut that they take then I will be selling my gold somewhere else.

Best place to sell your silver or gold coins. They will give you way better price value than pawn shops. They sell coins and jewelry at great prices.

I have been here three times and I would like to know a different place to go to in Anchorage...there is just something missing because they do not provide a simple quote for what they are buying...I sold gold scrap for years and the place I used in CA always gave the latest price per gram/ounce for 14K or sterling so I always got a rough estimate of how much the scrap buyer was making. Oxford does not do this and I think they are taking a big margin. So if Oxford is evaluating I want to see an answer for ounce spot gold at $1190, 1/2 ounce of 14K gold or 14 grams and GIVE A PRICE FOR WHAT YOU WOULD PAY

The lady that works there (shes a lil older) is very rude & dont/wont even check things to see if its real or not. She just says itsitnot real. The last thing I took there & she said it wasnt real w/out checking it, I took it to another gold buyer and got $400.00 for that piece.

Drilled a whole in my rare chinese silver blocks to test the middle. Said they needed to make a tiny incesion. They drilled a big whole right through the middle. Didnt even get the middle that was hollowed out back. This was last year looking at it just now pissed me off again.... after offering me 40 dollars for both i just got offered 700 for only 1 of them cuz the other one is runied by you guys and your low ball offer. Would never said to test it if i knew you were just going to drill a big whole in the middle of the design...
