This is my number one favorite place of all time. This place is way too cool! Beware of the staff. The are unpredictable but fun fun! The service is beyond any place in town, county!

I found Poison Ivy Soap at Northgate True Value. Last year at the onset of COVID-19, the bar soap, which is made in Arizona, was difficult to find. Now, there is plenty of this effective aid to dealing with exposure to poison ivy available.I also talked with personnel in the plexiglass department. They referred me on to actual Glass Businesses for the work I needed done. The curved cuts my job required were better done there. Thats where I went and my job is underway. I appreciated the referral.Also - nice selection of tomato cages available..

Nice selection for a family owned business. Friendly cashier. I once again had no luck being able to get an employee to help or even ask if I needed assistance. I actually helped one of their customers find what he needed in lawn chemicals.

Highly recommend visiting the folks at Northgate Hardware. Popped in today for help with a malfunctioning chainsaw and the store manager, David, hooked me up with his extensive background and knowledge on the machine and got me all squared away. He was walking out the door for the day and stayed behind extra time to make sure I was back in business. Top notch service.

True value is the home-town hardware experience. The folks are friendly and helpful. They have the things that no one else has and are willing to demonstrate it so that you have the results that you want. They repair all makes of wick heaters and salamanders quickly and at a reasonable price.

Convenient and locally owned!

This is one of the last remaining great hardware stores! You can buy 1 nail if thats what you need, you can buy em by the pound, or buy a box. They have a whole section of grade-8, fine-threaded bolts which I use on my ultralight aircraft. Last week my kitchen faucet started leaking and I pulled the Delta cartridge out of it and took it to Northgate. Yep, they had it. They also rent tools, replace screens, cut keys, fill propane tanks, and sell kerosene. They dont carry the breadth of general products that a Lowes or Home Depot does (appliances, lumber, tools, etc) but if you need actual hardware to fix our build something, they have it!

Thank you Northgate for donating the use of your mini backhoe. They let Lafayette twp vol fire department use it for a little landscape project today.

Every year I start out with a new wick and fresh kerosene from Northgate hardware. In years past I expirenced problems every year. Burnt wicks, poor flame control. I replaced wicks three and four times a year. I used their heater repair service program and he stated there was nothing wrong with my heater. The problem was the fuel. I tried fuel from all....ALL of the other places around and had the same failures. Never again since Ive only used Northgate.

Have you ever left a hardware store BEAMING? Probably not! I hadn’t until I visited these guys! I had a problem with my car key ignition that I was ready to pay my dealership $400 to fix. Someone recommended Northgate to me to get a new key cut, so I figured it was worth a shot. Bruce in the key department was a hero and saved me over $300 by creating a perfect key. He was so patient in helping program a new key, walked out to my car numerous times to personally try it until it was perfect, and was so friendly to hang out with. This was such nice, personal custom service that I would never expect to get at any mega store. Their customer service can’t be beat and I’m so thankful they troubleshot the situation with me until the job was done. I’m still jumping for joy. Thank you Bruce and Dave!

I’ve been coming here for years and I understand they have a new closing time due to COVID-19, but when I walk up to the door and my iPhone says three minutes till 5 o’clock and the guy rudely says we’re close because the employees are just ready to go home that’s very poor customer service.

Well I really like Northgate I rent the backhoe all the time the people are really good I did have an incident with my chainsaw blades took me three days to get them done I was told they were too busy to do my chainsaw blades I felt less important other than that I really enjoy the people there Dave and I cant remember all of his name but theyre all nice to me today I was told I had to wear a mask in the person that told me that approached the lady without a mask I never said a word well I guess Ill have to start going somewhere else sad

Extremely overpriced. Lack of items. When they cut a key they dont clean it up so it damages your lock. Employees are uneducated on the materials they are selling.

I was looking for powder keep bugs off the garden plants. The gentleman showed me were it was. A another gentleman come along and said the spray would better. Thank you for all your help!!

Closest hardware store around me so I go on occasion. They also carry some things harder to find elsewhere locally. I rate 2 stars because each and every visit, I get followed around like a thief. During the visit I made today, I was even followed to the register and then same employee stepped out the front door watching me as I stood in the small line waiting to pay. Probably wont return unless its one of those hard to find items elsewhere. Ive heard the same complaint from others and it definitely creeps folks out.

I LOVE Northgate True Value! The giant hardware/home improvement stores are so impersonal and if you actually find someone to assist you...they often are of little actual help. The people at Northgate are both friendly and knowledgeable. There is also the bonus of not having to HIKE for a mile and a half to find what you need. Fantastic!

Northgate True Value Hardware always has what I am looking for. The prices are usually better than or comparable to other hardware stores. I can always find specialty bolts and other places dont carry them any way.The staff is always friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help me fund what I need.

This is one of those hardware stores with a bunch of old guys that know their stuff. If you have DIY home improvement problem to solve these are your guys. You pay a little more for their merchandise but the expertise is worth it. If you just want to buy a box of screws go to Lowes.

Told by 4 people that programing a key was 40 and they told me 90 sorta makes me very suspicious of this particular store notified the manager and he did not care at all. Double check their prices.
