I have been a consignor at this store for several years. Lately, the store has become an unorganized mess with rude employees. I got there at 10:10 am and was already #6 on the wait list for a tote. I dont remember the name of the employee with the wait list, but she thought she had all the power. I did not leave the store and paid close attention to the names being called, but never heard my name. I walked back to the desk and found that my name was crossed off. She tried telling me they called it, but that is a lie. Then she said I would be next like she was doing me a favor. In the past, I have taken the tote to my car and loaded it. I have done it this way multiple times and seen others doing this as well. Today, she tells me the totes cant leave the store. I got my things from the car, came back in and she tossed the tote to me. Wow, seriously? I wished I would have gotten her name. She had a high and mighty attitude. I think I will drive out to the store in Clive from now on.

I love this store! There’s new merchandise put out daily, so there’s always something new to see each time you visit! The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The consignment process is so easy, and I love being able to use the money I make to purchase new things!

Always find office items, clothes and home things at great prices. Always friendly staff no matter what location I have shopped.

Please if you have name brand clothing dont go here, I took my sons Nike shoes which were maybe worn 3 or 4 times in great condition. Supposedly they only took one pair a discarded the rest or ( donated them). Which when I went there I specifically check marked the box that I did not want my items they did not take donated. They came up with an excuse on why they did anyways. Your better selling your stuff through a garage sale, so you know know one stiffs you for your items.

Love finding cute things and getting great deals on those items. I also find amazingly cute clothing and can always find 1 or 2 things that I dont need but buy because stuff has such unique clothing that cant be found anywhere else!!!

I’ve been a consigner (and a shopper) at this store since March 2014. Today ends that relationship.On multiple occasions, I’ve been treated like a burden and incurred rude employees.At one point, I reached out to the store to report the unnecessary rudeness; I received a response requesting the name of the specific employee.As a fellow business owner, I would be less worried about the specific employee and more concerned with the overall cultural that enables my employees to treat patrons disrespectfully.Today, I experienced yet another rude employee. No longer will I consign or shop this location because clearly my business isn’t valued. (Allow this review to save you some headaches.)

I went to this store today! 1-15-21. I have to this store a couple times before. The last to visit were good. But when I went today. The staff was rude! The store is overpriced! They are putting new prices on some of the items that are used condition or poor condition! When I was checking out.I had a bought a doc McStuffins pet cart. There was a toy that CAME with the cart that was on it when I had grab the cart on the shelf in the first place. The lady that was checking me out at the Register” CHRIS (supervisor)” proceeded to say that that toy on top the Doc McStuffins pet cart did not go with it! I was like yes it does, then Chris responded no it doesn’t, And she looked at the toy and said well there is no TAG on it. I can not believe they will sit there and argue with a customer over a toy. If the toy did not go with it, and was not on the toy I would’ve gladly paid for it. Due to this experience I will not be shopping back at the store! And another thing that was very rude. When a staff member is going to ask my daughter if she was getting a toy and then bringing her by me! I can’t remember her name.

First off, the employees were very nice.Now, the store.It is a huge mess.Its like shopping in a thrift store, but less organized and way more expensive. They dont mark anything down until its been there for 60 days. The prices might be understandable in a nicer store. But not this one.Start 25% mark-downs at 30 days and clean up the store, it will make a big difference!

4 bar stools priced $70 each one day. Went to purchase the next day, price was changed to $ 125 each. Store said they were under priced.

Several Sundays there has been only one checker. There should never be nine people in line to check out. Check your cameras. How many people are not buying things because they don’t have thirty or more minutes to wait to check out? Consignors should be concerned about this.

I went there today Saturday may 1,2021 I understand its a consignment store / thrift store but seriously the prices are crazy when people wanna charge almost full price for things that are used is wrong once an item leaves the legal store its value goes down and then when the person who sells it again value goes down Im just saying that your prices are high and I cant afford to shop there when I can go to Walmart or other stores and get three or more outfits and or things and spend the same as what I spent on just two item from the stuff store its crazy I have the right to my opinion and I wont shop there

Very pleasant to speak toI bought a beautiful table over the weekend and I picked stuff etc because they offer free delivery if u spend more than $100. I’ve been waiting for my table to be delivered for days now. I was told 2 days ago that they would deliver yesterday between 10-12 they never showed so I contacted the delivery man and he replied around 2 saying he can’t make it he’ll have to come this afternoon. It’s now 3pm and I can’t get a response from the delivery man. I just want my table or a refund or at the very least a set time that we can stick with for delivery.Update: 08/11/20The owner/ delivery driver is now telling me I need to rent a truck from menards and get the table myself. Very unprofessional

Little more expensive then your average thrift store but had alot to pick from so was definitely worth the stop!

I love this store so much and I intend to continue to begrudgingly consign and shop there, but I constantly leave that store frustrated because of how poor their customer service is, particularly at the consignment desk. I frequently walk up to the desk and have to wait 2-3 minutes for the staff at the desk to finish their conversation before Im even acknowledged. Consigners are treated like a bueden, almost like theyre irritated that were there, when were the ones providing the inventory to fund their paychecks! I worked retail for 8 years and that would NEVER have been acceptable. A simple smile or an Ill be right with you would go a long way towards leaving a better impression with consigners and customers alike. Customers tend to get impatient when they are being ignored.Its a problem on the shopper side too. I was in the middle of checking out last week and one of the other employees walked over, interrupted the cashier while she was speaking with me, and had a long unrelated conversation that could have waited two minutes for me to check out. To the cashiers credit, she looked supremely uncomfortable at how the other employee was forcing her to ignore me in the middle of a transaction.I love the concept of the store - secondhand shopping is environmentally friendly and better for the bank account - but this store would benefit from getting back to customer service basics so their customers (and consigners) dont leave feeling insulted.

Unbelievable you would think this is a high-priced first-hand store however these are second hand items and outrageously priced.

Nice consignment store. Nice things than an average thrift shop, a bit more pricey though. And some thrift shops have great items too, just not the average places. This consignment shop is huge though. It has much to offer. The layout is well organized. The service is friendly.

I bought an umbrella on Thur. As it was raining some. Left the store And at my next stop took it out to use it and the threads holding the hardware to the fabric busted immediately. I went back Fri within 24hours and they said sorry. No store credit or anything. I did not know policy and found it later in tiny print On receipt. You need big signs in every isle stating “no returns for any reason”.

All the staff is nice and friendly. Willing to give a hand in helping you find what your looking for. Prices are wonderful. They have great sales. Keep up the good work. Love the smiling faces.

I am very sad to write this but I feel necessary to make sure that this doesnt happen to anyone else. When the store has a promotion and takes unlimited items on certain days, you do not receive your givebacks. I believe the last one in February was called Wacky Wednesday. They recycled mine, and the worst part is I was there within 24 hours to pick up what was remaining in the tote. I have been a consignee in this location since shortly after they opened. I thought this to be a great concept for a much needed store in the Ankeny area. I have always enjoyed consigning and shopping here.This is very frustrating and I wanted to make sure it doesnt happen to someone else. I would like the ability to decide if I want the items back or for them to be recycled, and I missed the rules. Read the process thoroughly and pay attention to policies on promotional drop offs. I also called and asked where my other items were, I was told that they would check and someone would call me. I waited a couple days and called back, they said there were no notes in my account and informed me of the policy for unlimited drop offs. No call is also frustrating.It is unfortunate that one bad situation and lack of response can tarnish my feelings of a place that I have always been happy with. At this point I am not sure that I will return.

Ok place to go shopping but just recently went to buy a shirt for my son. Tag is printed as for male medium and bought it, got home and found out shirt was for female. Final sales are not returnable but at least they should give you some sort of credit for their mistake. My son wasnt able to wear it. Not good place to shop there if they continue to making mistakes with their clothing. I dont recommend to spend your money there when they do their mistakes. If it was my mistake I understand not to return an item. Prices arent cheap either. Staff are great but they need to label things correctly so people dont pay over priced items and not be able to return because of their mistakes.

I was visiting from AR and would definitely go back. EVERYONE was so nice, that is including a shopper who was explaining the pricing to me. Things were reasonably priced and in good condition.

Stuff Etc. Ankeny takes almost everything I bring in and they sell my items almost immediately. Im not a person to have a garage sale, so most of my things go to Stuff Etc. or Goodwill. Very convenient and its nice to gain a few $ every now and then too!

Its very dull and boring it could use some more color to feel more welcoming and uplifting. There is a pretty good selection from shoes, toys, beds and more. Overall they have could deal just needs a bit more Brighting

Processes your tote in two weeks or less (compared to nearly 8 weeks at the Clive location) and Ive made hundreds of dollars there (compared to negative $5 at the Clive location). Its also fairly week organized and I usually find something good there!

I love Stuff! The only thing I would change is the is the split you get when you bring your stuff in, I think itd be fair to get a higher percentage or if it doesnt sell you can have your things back but theres always something for everyone there!

They have a large selection of consignment housewares and clothing at very affordable prices. The building is huge and there are many deals to be had. Its worth a trip, check it out.

THEY MARK IT EXTREMELY LOW REGARDLESS, TO MOVE IT OFF THE FLOOR QUICKLY! MUCH RATHER GIVE TO SOMEONE NEEDY OR TO A GOOD CHARITY THAN TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!! ALSO IF THERE IS A MISTAKE MADE AND YOU TRY TO TALK WITH THE OWNER HE WILL FLY OFF THE HANDLE AND STORM AWAY!!! HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS I KNOW AS WELL.

Consign at your own risk is my advice and screenshot your transactions.Called today because I needed to claim what I made at the consignment store. Turns out they took about $50 from my account because of their 2 year rule which is incorrect because if you look at the transaction history you can clearly see my account is active based on what Ive sold/purchased. Anyways, they have shady practices and my account didnt reflect that they took this amount nor a description of the -&50. Advice to consignors out there: screenshot your transactions because youll most likely get screwed over if you dont.

You can find just about anything at this conscinement store

This particular location does not have the best brands or follow its guideline of dated material (2 years for style). Youll see as far as clothing Target branded clothing fairly high priced from around $9-$10 while another Stuff store will barely except these brands and if they do it is priced $6. As another reviewer stated there is far more items in the back room yet to be put out. The people/staff are always very nice however there is usually a wait at the registers.

Its too cluttered to enjoy walking around and just looking. The fitting room attendants are NOT friendly and heaven forbid your cart go over the line. Although there is no sign explaining the line. Drive to Clive - much different experience there.

Stuff Etc is thrifting for beginners. Items are screened before they go on the rack and then arranged by type and size. I buy a fair share of clothes for my whole family from Stuff. Starting an account and bringing in items is easy, but dont expect to get rich off of your old clothes.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SHOPPING HERE.Lame lame lame. I’ve been there three times. Always 99% junk one would find for a tenth of the price at Goodwill.The second time I went I brought a bin in to be processed. THEY LOST IT! I called back to find out what the deal was with my things and was told they had no record of my visit or my bin.The third time, over a year later, I wander in trying to find speaker stands. I randomly found some, but they had them priced $5 higher than they would’ve been BRAND NEW. They were worth less than half of what they were asking. I took them to someone I was told to talk to about pricing. She interrupted me before I finished speaking to tell me she couldn’t come down on them.Last time I’ll ever be in there.I hope it closes and stops wasting people’s time.Stuff SUUUUUCKS.

Have dumb staff! I asked to have my items held for me, since my items werent good enough, and I drive an hour to pick it up and get there and was told that my items were donated. And no notes were on the account. Just plain rude! I should be able to trust them when I called and asked to hold a extra day. If that wasnt an option I should have been informed. Very upsetting, because I had nice/name brand clothing that I could have still used!

I really enjoy these stores and 1 of the 3 associates that I came across was very nice n more than happy to assist me. However, I think the prices are a little high for being a store selling USED items.

I used to love shopping here recommend it to everyone. Now they have raised the price on everything. $20 for a pair of used jeans, $10 for a backpack that they are selling for new at walmart. I can say I will no longer be shopping here.

Not thrilled with the store. Ive been to other Stuff Etc and to other resale stores to compare. Clothing had a lot of stains. I passed by at least 5 items that were stained and I picked up a couple things for my daughter and didnt catch the stain until later that day. The sorting section is a compiled mess that is visible from the rest of the store making it look very unprofessional. There was so much more merchandise that could have been on the floor. Also, the prices... I saw $50 Legos that sell brand new for less.Then I consigned some items. I was told that I would get an email with login directions for the website and an itemized list of the items they took. I never received that email so I called. They had the correct email on file so I asked for an email and still did not receive one.I like that it has both clothing and household goods. My only positive.

Employees need make sure security tags are removed from clothing. I live clear over by the airport and now have to make a special round trip of 30 miles back to the store to have the tag removed. Told the lady twice to make sure all the tags were off all the clothes I bought. Alarms were going off a bunch of times at the front door while I was there. What’s the point of using them and not stopping anyone at all at the front door when the alarm goes off? This is a thrift store not von maur! Ditch the tags and trust your repeat customers. Very stupid policy by the owners and very ghetto!!!👎😡
