Went into Advance Auto to find windshield wipers and overheard a employee being very rude and condescending to another employee. He was an older man and came from the back. I was kind of in disbelief. Everyone else was great, but he was just a nasty person.
Walk in with a bewildered look as if I needed help but 2 guys behind the had no intentions in helping me at all after asking twice. I finally got a new person and asked them while I was already in front of the wax section if they had a particular type of wax. He scratches his head and said our waxes would be in the wax section. So helpful.
Thereβs bad customer service...and then thereβs customer service that is completely absent. This place has an abundance of the latter. Itβs like they hired people where the only requirement was to have a pulse. In the future, if I have to choose to buy parts here or run the car into the ground, paint a 3 on the side of this baby and let the destruction derby begin.And what better way to emphasize my point than for the same company to post a cookie cutter template apology below that parallels their customer service.

Great parts and online order discounts. Giving only 3 stars because they canceled an order just because the part was hard to find in the store, the day I went to pick the parts, one of the employees confirmed that her coworker canceled it because he couldnt find it and it took her a couple minutes to find it herself. So I had to pay for the part again and wait almost 2 weeks for a refund.

I found what I needed easily enough but paid with the wrong card & the employee that had to process the return and redo the payment. It was all in one visit. Seems like they probably werenβt having a great day as me originally paying with the wrong card was annoying to him. He did process they return & repayment but I just felt like he was bothered by it. I will shop there again as I have many times without issue & hopefully see him on a better day.
Good place to get a battery
Called store to ask if the brake pad lifetime replacement could be processed for two pads or if they required four. Clerk answered and asked me to hold, after a few minutes I began heading to the store, i remained on hold for the 25+ minute drive to the store, and was still on hold as I approached the counter where there were no more than 2 customers ahead of me. I could hear the store phone on the counter beeping and the employees just left me permanently on hold with no intention to answer the call. My future purchases will be at AutoZone for sure.

I am very mad right now. Your hours online say you close at 9pm so I made sure to get there before then. I get there at 8:15 and they have the doors locked. I needed a new battery for my car because itβs dead I have no way to get to work or anywhere I would have made sure I got there before eight had I known thatβs when they closed. The guy wouldnβt let me in even after I explained to him that their hours are wrong online. You guys really need to fix that because it makes it very difficult and frustrating for people that really need a part desperately and canβt get one even though they got there before the hours of operation that are stated online!

I work a advance auto up in New Hampshire. I understand that itβs not possible to wait on store and phone customers at the same time. At some point they need to inform their colleagues that there is a general call on hold.This is the third time I called the Annapolis Maryland store and was put on hold and forgotten.
Very nice Advance Auto store. It was easy to find what I was looking for and I was out of there in a jiffy. The price was good and they often have sales and specials. You can also order online and pick up at the store. The parking in front was very easy.
I just bought a can of brake clean but there wasnt a line and the girl at the register was nice
Ive never visited where they didnt have what I needed. The staff are knowledgeable and often have a better idea of what I need than I do.Prices seem reasonable. Staff are friendly, usually the wait isnt too long. Check out is efficient. A well-run business.The only drawback is the location, which is a little seedy.
Nice auto parts
I visited on Thursday and I accidentally left my credit card there. I returned the next day and the line was long. One lady who had no help nor did she (seemingly) call for more assistance. She had to leave the counter to look for several parts throughout the store. This is unacceptable and she should have recognized her line of customers. People in line for purchases were impatiently bored and one person walked out. Thankfully I was able to get her attention and she did retrieved my card quickly. Hopefully they will read this review and take it to heart. Customer service is everything... STILL.

Very knowledgeable staff. The person I worked with was superior. As usual in some of these places, some of the staff cant take the time to say hello or I am working on this or that but no their I stand curious about what is happening and what I need to do for some attention.
This location has decent selection and the staff is helpful when needed. The reasoning for the low rating is for the lack of help when needed. This store always seems to be busy, no matter when, and there is always a line for checking out due to the short staffing. If youre coming in here just to pick up something off the shelf quick, you might be waiting for a bit to check out since there wont be enough staff behind the counter to ring you out. Theyre split between being a cashier AND doing parts look-ups for customers so that could take time. If there was just a dedicated cashier for those people that only need to pay for something off the shelf, that would speed things along.What frustrated me about a recent visit was that there were 2 gentlemen working the counter at this particular time. They were each assisting a customer, there was one person ahead of me in line and 4 more behind me. The 2 counter people were working with their customers to look up parts...then a 3rd worker comes out from the back and goes to stock the floor while the six customers were standing in line. That third worker maybe couldve opened a register to assist.

Was able to get in right before they closed and received excellent customer service.
Great customer service. Knowledgeable staff. Open extended hours and weekends too. If they dont have what you need in stock they can usually get it by the end of the day or the next day.
This seems like a really stressful place to work. The staff yells at each other and the lines are always long for some reason. BUT they are helpful when looking for a particular product that you need.

This place blows.Customer service is the worst Iβve seen since living in a college town.I bought part from the store. During the transaction, the guys get pissed that someone kept calling them. They kept putting the poor guy on hold and said βnow Iβm gonna make them hold even longer, I hate when people keep callingβI buy my part and install it. Guess what? The part is defective, leaking WORSE than the 13 year old part I replaced it with.I call back, got put on hold for 10 mins. Had to take a business call, so I hung up and conducted my business. Called back to be met with an attitude!βSIR, we have someone ahead of you, you need to holdβ-and put me on hold. NP.25 MINS LATER I call back, they HAVE to be done checking out that ONE guy. Someone else answers after I call back-βCan I put you on hold pleaseβ-then click! Just freakin hung up!!!Bad parts, bad service. Avoid at all cost. Donβt spend you money here just because the parts in their inventory will save you $20. Youβll end up wasting your time and returning the part anyways.
After a long day at work I went into the West Street location to try to purchase fuses for my car. First, I was ignored by two of the employees standing talking before one looked over and waved me over like he had better things to do. Then as I was asking for help finding fuses for my car...I wasnβt even allowed to finish before the other guy chimed in and said βAisle 3, right sideβ. I looked at him and said excuse me. He didnβt even make eye contact and said β AISLE THREE, RIGHT SIDEβ. Then he turned to the other guy not to me and said βWe canβt look up that info in the computer they have to know what they are looking forβ.So...a paying customer is a βtheyβ? I totally get that it was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and they probably DIDNβT want to be working. But since I just finished an eight hour shift and I DO have customer service skills I expect the same in return. Whether I am spending a few dollars or Iβm dropping a small fortune...I expect to be treated with the same respect I give othersI walked down aisle three...right out the door, and drove down to PepBoys. They got my money and they will from now on even though Advanced Auto is located closer to where I work.I only wish I got the two employees names but I was so shocked with how I was treated that I just walked right out.

YAY! A car parts place thats actually fun and has good staff!For me, the staff are always helpful at this location. By MD law, they are not permitted to perform certain tasks on your vehicle so dont be offended if they cant help with something in particular... they are just not allowed to do certain things in the parking lot by law. They do what they can and give great advice. They will help you to your vehicle with your purchases and will help perform things on your vehicle-- whatever they are able to do by law. Obviously its not required but I always give a few dollars depending on what they helped me with on my car just as a thank-you.They dont get paid to help work on my car so I show my appreciation with a small tip. I asked and they are not paid commission, yet they get acknowledged and good reviews when they reach sales goals so always go to your favorite counter/salesperson! But fyi, they do only get an hourly rate for income, no commissions. I think the staff are well trained and it shows. I havent yet had a bad experience shopping at this location (West street in Annapolis) and I will continue to get my car parts here! Also, sign up on their website! Im constantly getting emails with coupons for 10%, 20%, even 30% off my purchases and they usually have an online code too in case you like to shop online!I seriously cant even write enough good commenst about the staff at this location and the prices at AA!Ask for Justin... hes my favorite counter/salesperson! He seems shy but hes very helpful and knowledgeable. He said he used to be a mechanic so he probably knows what hes talking about!Good luck with your shopping experience here... hope my review was informative. :)

I called multiple times just to be put on hold. I sat on hold the first time for about 5 minutes, then I called back and sat on hold for another 8 mins.. When I called back again the young man was laughing as if it were funny that I continued to call back.. Not very good customer service..
