I was at this location last week and had a pleasant experience. Alex and Joe were so very patient with all my questions. I know the very basics on firearms. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. I love Shoot Straight. I have purchased several firearms from them, use them as my FFL and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Their prices are a bit higher then others Ive seen but still they are a great company. The only bitter pill is coming to the store, filling out the long background check form and the long, long, long wait for it to come back. Perhaps they could have customers fill that out online before you get there, e-sign it to get the ball rolling and sign hard copies when they arrive. There must be a way to expedite the process. That long waiting is brutal especially since the store has nowhere to sit.

If I could give a negative star rating it would be a negative 20. Absolutely hands down the worst customer service in the world. It takes every ounce of their energy to even acknowledge you exist when youre there spending money to pay for their wages. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Give your money to this place and you were just being foolish with your money.

I doubt that i could have had a better experience at a firearm store. I visited the Apopka location and my visit involved a return, lots of browsing with questions and ultimately a purchase. The dedicated attention and unparalleled customer service that i received from (I believe his name is Josh or Jason), Allie and Alec was above and beyond what is expected from a retail gun shop. Earlier today, I had the opportunity to fire a certain handgun with my fabulous instructor, Doug, at Shooters World. I liked the way it performed and decided to purchase one. Unfortunately, they didn;t have a new one in stock. I called several firearms stores and I ultimately spoke with a gentleman named Gunny at Shoot Straight in Apopka. He said that they had several in stock and quoted me a price of $529.00. I was pleased with his service and I felt that the price was fair and later in the day, I headed up to Apopka to make the purchase. I entered the store and asked for Gunny, but he had apparently left. The rep that assisted me said that Gunny was mistaken on the price and that it was $599. I told him of my call with Gunny earlier in the day. He excused himself and spoke with the manager who couldnt have been less interested and refused to honor the price that was quoted to me. I asked the rep if they price matched. He said they did, so I pulled up the price at another local firearms store, but he said that they only price match with their own website??? and again refused to lower the price. I politely asked if I could speak with the manager personally. My rep went up to him and he essentially crossed his arms, looked away, and refused to speak with me. Needless to say, I did not make the purchase nor will I ever shop at that store again. I understand that firearm sales are brisk, but I still dont believe that this gives gun stores the right to offer such poor service to their customers.

I went in today to pick a few items and I must say Todd’s customer service abs knowledge was fantastic! He helped me find exactly what I was looking for and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have had another experiences with a sales associate Mac and both are a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

This place has decent inventory, but the staff and service has always been rude, impatient, and even though youll spend thousands of dollars they dont treat as such. I bought a rifle and got complained at about not wearing a mask by a manager, then he asked another employee to grab me a mask and couldnt even do it himself (coward), I stuck the mask in my pocket in front of the joker, they didnt even open the box to verify it was the actual product from the warehouse, and when I was done they rushed me out of the door, didnt ask if I needed anything else, I was going to buy an optic and accessories but decided to just leave. Hopefully never doing business there again.

Went to shoot straight today was helped by Brock he was awesome with all my questions very patient I truly appreciate it first time going there so it was pretty cool that they were patient with me. Nice variety of guns, but staff was not as friendly as i hoped. Two people ignored me, and if it wasnt for Steven showing me where the guns i was interested in were i wouldnt have found them at all. He also made sure that someone knew i was there so that i could make my purchase. Thanks Steven! Youre awesome!

Nice store, with good inventory of guns and accessories. Purchased a firearm, and got a free range pass (for day) with it, nice! Customer rep (Alec) was helpful, and the only thing that marred an otherwise great experience was interaction with an employee named Brett, who was rude, impatient, and unprofessional. Probably best to keep him in the back sweeping brass off the range floor, before he loses the store more sales!

I have been a customer of Shoot Straight in Apopka for 32 years. In the past three years I have become an enthusiastic target shooter and have purchased many, many firearms from them. I am so pleased with them that I became an executive member. The staff is eager to please and have done great despite the covid situation. Sometimes, the place is VERY busy and you just need to be patient, particularly when you can tell you are dealing with a young new employee (as everyone is at one time or another).

Last weekend we arrived 30 minutes before opening. Though there was a Long line, they came out and respectfully split us up into groups of who was shopping, picking up & going to the range. Absolutely seamless! Fast forward 5 days later, we went to pick up our purchases. They were extremely helpful and made sure we were comfortable with our purchase(s) before leaving. One employee I would like to point out - Tom. I have NEVER received such amazing customer service. He was informative, offered advice and ensured that the guns I was considering “fit” me and my needs. Not once did I feel like he was up-selling me or trying to just force me into a purchase. I was extremely thankful he was there the day I picked up, because he continued to supply me with information & his knowledge.

Not really into the decor of the venue, but not deducting any stars in that regard. Nice, knowledgeable, easy going staff. Purchased my first item here, I think I got a decent price given the times of COVID. The reason Im deducting stars is because of their processes. My gosh they are slow. Went over to pick up my firearm, the SS person was not able to find my already filled background check. Had to fill it a total of 3 times to then find out they did eventually locate it. Lots of lost time and the good experience starts to not be so great. Theres usually only 1 manager checking the gun paperwork after everything is payed for and done. Again, lost time as the manager is not around all the time. Second time over, I get a phone call to pick up 2 more items, it took 1 hour between the time I stood at the end of the line and the time I was able to walk out with my items. There were about 5 people in line in front of me so they werent that busy. If you get a call and you are expected for pickup, there should be a streamlined process that will allow to process pickups faster. All paperwork should be revised and ready before they call you and the items located so its just about the signatures and the manager revision (that should be automated so that managers can focus on management rather than paper reviews)

Had a terrible experience at shoot straight apopka. The range officers rather gossip at the front register than doing their job. The guy in the stall next to me uncased his weapon on the back counter then proceeded to point it at me on the way to his range stall. Ill be taking my buisness elsewhere from now on.

They still have plenty of iron for sale always helpful with gunsmithing

This place is unbelievable. I purchased a product from the website and needed to return it. The local store where it was delivered to told me to call them two days ago if I had not heard anything. I’ve called them 5x now and can’t get through no matter what extension I use. The last time I called they took the phones off the hook. If you plan on purchasing a firearm I would recommended a small arms store rather then this place they just want to make sales and don’t care about the customer

Me and my husband went today to buy a new gun, everyone was so helpful and extremely kind. It was very hot and when the man letting everyone in noticed I had my kids with me he let us wait inside to get them out of the heat. I would highly recommend this location!

Staff is friendly,some may know there stuff some may not, but if they dont know they will find out. HUGE selection, nice used selection also. I saw a Mk.23 for sale here once. Very clean, nice range, kind of small, but definitely nice. Rifle below .50, shotgun, all handgun calibers, NO Full-Auto I believe. Only negative I could give them but I understand, is that they are pretty expensive.

Horrible if you actually want to purchase a gun. They use the online instead of calling it in, after two and a half hours gave up. Find some one who still calls it in.

Seriously decreased customer service over the years. My easy going temperament was met with some major attitude today. I was treated like a criminal and I wont be going back. I understand everyone has bad days, but dont take it out on someone who has spent over $5k in past purchases at this location and is trying to spend over $1200 today. I took that $ and all of my future purchases elsewhere.

Drove over from Daytona. Only complaint is they don’t hold or allow deposits to hold a firearm. I know I know FCFS but driving an hour on a maybe isn’t ideal. BUT when I arrived, everything was smooth. I’ve been through the process many many times and in this day and age, they managed to make it even more smooth. Tom was awesome, looked out for me, and Gunny was keeping things rolling even though they were crazy busy from a gun show the weekend before. 10/10. For real, those two individuals made the travel well worth it. Thanks y’all!!

They shouldnt have a sign outside that mandate mask as per orange county if they will not enforce it. That brings down the moral and looks bad on management as many then will feel entitled to not obey the law. I was going to stay a purchase a few things for my guns and I left instead. This can bring conflicts that could have easily been avoided by management enforcing the law as per county and establishment.

Store used to be OK for a gun shop. Now it just feels like most all others, a glorified PAWN SHOP. Just trying to rip customers off. Prices are marked way up. Then when your buying, they make you feel like your getting a good deal by taking some off. If you dont do your homework on what you want and the prices, your going to get the shaft. Ive been trading with them for sometime. Today a learned my lesson. I will NOT be coming back. They seemed not to care at all anymore. Oh by the way, Im a Firearms Instructor and will be letting others know not to shop there too.

Dont buy from this company, they sell so many guns that they dont care about customer service at all! Bought a gun at the Orlando Gun show on July 11th, had to wait 5 days to pick up the Taurus 9mm, whike my boyfriend purchased an expensive S&W Shield 2.0. I purchased and pay for a background check, even though I am a CWP holder. Fine, I understand that it was a gun show and hard to keep everyone honest. Tried to pickup our guns on Thursday, but the line was wrapped around the building. Came back on Saturday and waited 2+ hours to pickup our guns. We wanted to shoot the new gun, but another hour to get on the range was not worth it when we had to be 3 hours away in Jacksonville. So I left and went to an outdoor range there. The 9mm I bought from this Shoot Straight jammed right out of the box. Literally, I put the magazine in and it jammed. I had to clear it, tried again. Got one shot out of it before it jammed. Switched magazines and had it jam a third time so bad that I couldnt even clear it. I was terrified to drive around like that, so I had to have a range officer clear it for me. I tried to call Shoot Straight Apopka in Monday, but just got voice mail. I arrived today to tell them about the issue - they dont care and refused to help me. I didnt buy an extremely expensive firearm, but bought an average one. I do expect it to work when I buy it! I was told the only thing I can do is call Taurus and hope they help me with a broke gun. I assure you, my boyfriend and I will NEVER buy from here again, nor will we ever shoot here again. I would rather give my business to another company, one that is will to stand by the products they sell and care about their customers. Ill also make sure all my friends and family know of the lack of customer service here.... And we have a lot of 2nd Amendment friends. Good luck with any purchases here, you better hope everything is 100% perfect. Sadly, the range officer showed me a tiny chip in the gun that was causing the jam. After allowing thousands of people to mess with the guns at the show, its sad that they dont stand behind their products! Worst gun experience ever, Im glad I own other guns to keep myself protected.

I used to be a member, and even purchased one of my handguns here. I am confirming the comments about the hit-or-miss (though largely miss) customer service to be true, and the most apparent characteristic of this shop. Every single time I have been here it takes at least half an hour of me standing around browsing before I get helped. One time it was by a very helpful and friendly employee, other times not so much.The store is cool. There’s interesting stuff on display, and a selection of firearms. The range had AC when I went, but it was a pain to use, with all the hoops one has to jump through just to get in. Also I noticed this one particular employee who was very rude and arrogant. As a CRSO myself, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, knowing that at the range sometimes one has to be loud and assertive in the name of safety. It wasn’t until my wife pointed out and I observed that he only yells at brown people that we decided to find another range to shoot at. I hope he’s no longer working there.

Avoid them ...rude and no professional. Bought a gun online and delivered to this dealer . After paying for background check, accessories and transfer fee I was told by employee To come back any time. No need to do the line because all paperwork is done (was just pick up )...Once I return to get my gun Manager didnt allow me inside because I need to do line. I tried to explain that wasnt what the employee told me, but she didnt care . The employee apologized to me while she accused me of trespassing even when employee told her that I was just following his instructions.I told her refund my money, she told me you need to do the line. I did the line with groceries in my car and when I make it to the door owner refuse to let me in, He refused to give me my gun and he refused to take the accessories back.Poor service. Bad experience. Rude management and owner. They shouldnt be selling guns. I am not a gun person, dont own one. This was my 1st one and after this experience I dont want to deal with gun people.

When I bought a new handgun from Shoot Straight, the cashier told me that my required background check had gone through and that I could pick up my gun in 3 days (the legal waiting period). When I returned to the store 4 days later, another attendant told me that I was still in a decision pending status from the state (FDLE). I was frustrated, but waited patiently for another month, but remained in a decision pending status. So, I decided to request a refund. Shoot Straight charged me a 25% restocking fee (though the gun never left the store). Each of the three times that I called the store to check on progress of the background check, the employee was rude or abrupt - and certainly unsympathetic. I had to actually go to the store (during the COVID stay-home period) to start the two-week long refund process. It should have been easily doable by phone. I will now buy a similar handgun, from an individual, without having to get the background check, since its completely legal for me to do so. I feel silly having gone to a store to buy an overpriced handgun and overpriced ammo. In hindsight, I should have simply browsed there to decide what type of gun I wanted to buy from an individual seller. If the store can profit from their restocking fees, they may not be too disappointed when FDLE refuses to approve a gun sale.

Staff is knowledgeable and always super friendly. Range is nice and clean, not usually a wait.I prefer this range to others. Pricing is not bad at all.

Place is still open during the lockdown and are doing a great job of balancing the number of customers (with a line) inside while also providing great service. Potter was very knowledgeable and helped me and my girlfriend narrow our choices for the purposes we were looking for. I learned alot and look forward to visiting their story again.

I dont usually write reviews but I decided to this time. First the good. The place is big organized and the staff all seem helpful. My only problem was with the range. I went about 4:00 on a Saturday. Not super busy but there was a line to check in. I was told all the rifle ranges were taken so for now I could use the handgun range till a rifle range was available. They were going to let me know as soon as someone left. I didnt make a big deal that people who came in after me got a lane before I did. But after I was done shooting I noticed new people in the rifle lanes. I was forgotten about. I was pissed but didnt make a scene I just left. I wont go back to this location Ill use the casselberry one insteadNever had an issue there.

Customer service is a hit or a miss! Mostly a miss! I wrote a long email to them stating my displeasure at the disrespectful way an employee treated me when I picked up my firearm. I am pretty easy going and understanding of situations so for me to get riled up, says a lot. I had planned on spending another $1,200 that day but decided against it because of the way the employee treated me. I like supporting local business but this place will never get my money again. Huge selection of firearms and very knowledgeable staff if you can get their attention. They have a lot going on inside from new and used firearm sales to an indoor shooting range and their staff are all very busy signing people up for the range and talking guns. Unfortunately, after having gone there several times I generally leave without having been helped because it takes so long to get any help. They are perpetually under staffed. Last weekend I went and saw three people standing there by themselves but when I asked for assistance (I just wanted to buy bullets) I was told I needed to ask somebody else because they were training.One frustrating thing that Ive found with Shoot Straight is that they will not order firearms for you. What they have in their display case is what they have. Sometimes you can get them to call back to their warehouse (in back) to see if another product is there. They will also offer to call their other stores to look for a particular firearm. However, if you dont like the finish or want something they dont have you are out of luck and they will tell you to come check in a week or two.The last time I bought a gun I left empty handed, drove to Winter Garden and the store I went to ordered exactly what I wanted without any hassle.In summary: Good selection, indoor pistol range, knowledgeable staff but perpetually understaffed and their sales service is limited.

First, a big thank you to Abby (Abbie). She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Customers can go pretty much anywhere nowadays for what they are looking for but imo, customer service wins every time. As a local I have purchased and sold firearms here for quiet some time. Very nice building and great selection at competitive prices. (Side note to owner: please update your website and consider putting a location between Leesburg and the Villages)

I have found that employees are helpful/knowledgeable. Shooting range needs to be upgraded. It was warm but you can adjust large vents at each station to blow air on you. Its always fun! Prices are reasonable --always check around for prices to insure you are getting the best deal.

Dont get me more, place is great for locals. But if you are a tourist and wanting to shoot? They will not allow you on their ranges, simply because of past incidents on their ranges and rightly so, the guys helped us out and found us another location to go to. Place is amazing though.

Shoot Straight is a well stocked, well run and well staffed store. I always enjoy coming in here and talking to the staff. I always learn something and return the favor by making a purchase of some kind.

The more and more we spend money there the more I think we will need to get a new gun store. Me and my wife love shooting and we buy a lot of guns. Today my wife called after going in yesterday to try to pick up a gun she ordered and transferred there. she got from the staff it is in the warehouse we cant call our own warehouse and you will have to wait tell we check it in. Tomorrow will be the 3rd day it is sitting there. Not all but as a hole you are getting the big business attitude were the little person is not important or the fact that she is a woman trying to by a large gun. I dont know but I do know that we have a big choice to wear we spend our money and maybe it is better put to a place that wants it.

Ive fired a gun maybe a dozen times in my life and that might be a generous estimation so Im a novice at best. I just purchased my first gun here today and it was a better experience than Id have thought. The staff doesnt talk to you like an idiot or like you arent welcome just because you dont have 10,000 hours of experience like a lot of insider-y types of businesses sometimes do. And that goes a long way.

Store is great have anything need and quantity, just dont work there. They sent employee home due to personal emergency over holiday and when they come back to work blame absence on same employee management sent home and have clocks set fast and lecture when under 2 minutes over start time. Plus one of trainer is Blue falcon. Shame

Worst shopping experience ever. Shoot straight sends me a used/defective item, ignores my emails and only responded once Amazon was contacted. Once I opened an A-Z claim the company promptly responds begging me to send it back. I do so ASAP and this is the message I received: Please in the future never order anything from my company again. You have been the worst customer experience in my companies history dealing with Amazon. I will cancel any order you try and place as long as we have an account with Amazon. Your package came in yesterday at 3pm and we have to process over 500 packages. We aren’t just waiting for your return. Worst customer ever!!!! I did not email them about this or anything so I dont understand where the hostility came from.I have been nothing but respectful and followed their guidelines for return. They have no reason to be this rude. Avoid this place at all costs, there are many better businesses out there to deal with then getting harassment after your purchase.

Every time I have came in here lately there’s an issue. Employees at the range desk were extremely rude. I’ll never spend me money here again and I have bought 3 firearms from them over the last few years. This is my 3rd time leaving upset and it will be my last.

I’m a new gun owner and took some practice at the range this morning. The young man was nice and also patient,as I had questions. He directed me to the rifle range in that I have the Taurus. My questions were answered and their instructions were given in a clear manner. Good to be at Shoot Straight. I only wish you had one in Winter Garden where I live.

I have to say I was going to go with a 3 star just because of the huge variety of firearms it has and great deals. But to be honest the customer service from some sales reps isnt up to par not only that the lanes need some sprucing up, I have resorted to going to this range only because it is the closest one when I visit Orlando. I will say you can find some good customer service from some employees you just have to look for them.

I was at your store yesterday to window shop and also to bring back one of my higher end pistols that I thought required a factory return for a recurring problem with the magazine release. Your manager was able to get the problem resolved on the spot and assisted me in purchasing another pistol during my visit. I travel extensively and visit gun stores throughout Florida and the USA and your inventory, your incredibly capable store manager, and your service is second to none.

Had a great time. Nice range, saw Jonathan come in and sweep up a couple times and even saw him working with an inexperienced couple on proper stance and technique. Once we finished we looked around and the rest of your staff was very helpful, each asking if they could help us or show us something. Excellent experience and thanks. You guys do the shooting industry proud.

Love how these guys are price gouging people on Mossberg shotguns and not putting them on for retail so the average American can afford one. Shame on Shoot Straight for taking advantage of the panic.

Except for a young blonde haired lady the staff is rude little snots, theyd rather ignore you than help,once you get someones help its usually a bad experience. Ive been there during the anniversary sale and the owner is always cool,down to earth.

Going in to the Apopka store on a non busy Tuesday morning to purchase a firearm I had to wait for almost 15 minutes while standing at the counter before anyone even acknowledged my presence. I looked around and noticed that there were a few employees engaged in private conversations with each other while the rest were actually busy. Thats right, I was watching all of you, even the ones that made eye contact then looked away, pretending to be busy. The employee Robert finally asked me if I needed any help. Saying yes I was told that someone would be by shortly to help. I forget the next gentlemans name but he was helpful and knowledgeable. I asked about any deals on the pistol I was looking at because when I called the store they said they had what I was looking for and theyd make me a good deal on it. They sure did offer a good deal on a great pistol.As far as everything went it wasnt a horrible experience, though the staff could be a bit more attentive and the new hires could use some classes about the firearms they are trying to sell and the store they work at. If they do that then maybe then the next time I ask for a magazine for my firearm Ill get the correct one instead of having to go to the Shoot Straight in Casselberry to exchange it for the right one.

I understand there is alot going on right now. But the stores are making alot of money, customer service should still be a priority. The attitude of the employees here at apopka store need to improve.

I enjoy the gun range . Have been going their a very long time. Ive zeroed my rifles and shot guns there every time I bought a new weapon . Also my pistols . Besides that I just like shooting.I hunt in Florida and Georgia every year and thanks to your fine range I have been successful every year. Last year I killed two deer and a nice sow hog and over the last decade Ive killed many hogs. 90 percent of them with bolt action rifles Ive purchased in your store . As a matter of fact I will probably be at your range tomorrow. Im going deer hunting next week. I never go hunting with out fine tunning my scopes especially after them not being used in a year. Thanks guys for the excellent service Ive received.

My Shoot Straight Experience today was Awesome your staff is very helpful, & very professional, it wasmy first time using the range and all safety rules were well explained. Plus they keep a good eye oneverything, it was lots of fun and I will be returning more often with friends and family.Thank you, to your staff for all their helpful tips and assistance.

Ive done business with these guys personally and professionally and have always had a great experience. They have a good selection of weapons, optics and ammo as well as an indoor gun range for plinking. I want to say the shooting has to be fairly static and they may not let you draw from the holster either but who wants Larry Curly and Moe practicing their live fire quick draw next to you anyways.

First time in was today. Huge selection of handguns, rifles, and shotguns.Brought in an old gun to have it checked over and Mike at the range went out of his way to show me how it worked, and how to clean and fire it. He didnt have to do any of that, and it was really helpful.Fair prices for ammo, nice little range. Will be back soon.

This place is awesome. They have a great selection of guns, and usually a great staff. Ive brought, and sold several guns to them. Good people that make it easy for you to do business with them ...

He is a very knowledgeable, helpful young man. Considering the gun show was in Orlando this weekend, your Apopka location was extremely busy. Jeff spent a good 30-minutes showing us pistols, talking about the features and differences between weapons and he made our buying experience very enjoyable.I would definitely recommend Jeff to anyone I knew who was interested in purchasing weapons.

After my latest experience at this establishment I will never return. On google (and the front door) it says it closed at 7 so a group of us decided to go at around 6 pm. (I know last minute but for $15 for an hour it wasnt terrible). We got into the range and started shooting right at 6. Then at 6:20 an announcement was made that it was closing. When an employee walked past informing us of the closure we asked what time they closed because we saw online it was 7 and his words the range closes at 6:30 but our manager feels like closing early so we all spent quite a lot of money to go and shoot for 20 minutes. When we spoke to a manager later on about our experience his exact words were too bad then proceeded to ignore us and begin talking to another person in the store. ive read the bad reviews on here before but had never personally experienced anything until now. They even allowed people to pay and start shooting at 6:15. As someone who has worked in the business world for quite some time the way the manager handled this situation was definitely not appropriate. Also after hearing the complaints of those who came after who werent even informed that they would be closing in such a short amount of time its a pretty safe bet that shoot straight has lost quite a lot of seasoned costumers today.
