Usually great. Sometimes they have great deals, other times its mildly outrageous. Especially when it comes to the pricing of their WOTC material thats readily available.

Lots of great books -- some of them new -- at great prices. Also new puzzles & toys, used games, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, BluRays and comic books. You can sell them your books as well I had bought 2 books new at a major bookstore and found them here, new, at a better price. The only drawback is that you cant be sure what they have in stock, as it depends on what they buy from customers. Bit its definitely worth a stop!

Always find what i need here. If I cant find it there, they help by finding it at one of their other stores and have it delivered to theirs or theyll search competitors. Whatever it takes.

The employees have always been very respectful and helpful to me. I enjoy the different assortments of items for sale. Music, comics, movies, games of all sorts, books. However, some of their used items are being sold for a price you would pay new on Amazon. The book prices are decent, in comparison with other stores. I don’t recommend selling used items to them, unfortunately. You will not get much. Instead, I recommend selling on a website, or social media page.

Half price books make for fantastic reading; you may even enjoy it more knowing you spent half as much ;) selection is dependant on what people are selling/buying up around the area. If you have some books collecting dust on your shelves you can part with them for some cash so the book can inspire/entertain someone else in the future...

Always love visiting this store, they have a good collection of vegetarian cookbooks and scifi novels which are always my goto purchases

Not just this location but EVERY Half Price store is a total RIP OFF when they offer you your books, tapes, dvds etc! IF you get pennies on the dollar you are doing good! Then they tell you they cant sell your item but they will donate it. Then you see it on the shelf the next week! I stopped selling to them or buying from them. Now I just give my books away to places that can actually use them and cant afford buying them like our Prisons and Schools!

Still one of my favorite used books and media places to shop. However the areas I used to shop most are now very small, either due to no longer buying it or people not selling it. That is the graphic novels and manga sections. Still can find a rare gem or two if one has the time to look around.

I would like to give four stars because this is a good place. The staff is friendly and work hard to help. Sadly, on my last visit, the gentleman who was assessing the stuff I brought in for an offer was trying to be everything to everyone. Each time someone new came in, he would stop looking at my materials and welcome and assist those arriving. Something that should have taken 5 minutes took nearly 30 minutes. Perhaps they are short-staffed...Im giving benefit of the doubt. However, the other person doing the same job was focused and made offers to many customers that arrived after me. I dont want to be the impatient jerk in the room, but I was unimpressed.

Low ball offers on buying books. Its insulting. Also they throw away books buy the hundreds. They call it a recycling program. Its more like a book burning. Look in any garbage area at any location. Its gross. Bibles by the truckload.

They do not check the records for scratches. I got a billy joel album and the song uptown girl was scratched. I wouldnt have cared if it was a lesser hit but that was the biggest song on the album and the scratch skipped half the song. They really should play the big hits on the record to make sure they arent obviously damaged.

Traded in my old books. Not much of a trade in price but it is a nice local book store with friendly staffs.

Me and my wife came down to sell some dvds. All of them where in good condition. Once we got there we had to wait 2 hours just to get our stuff looked at. Than after looking at literally the 2 bags of DVD that we brought in they only offer us a measly 2.50 for the entire two bags!! Not only am i not going back and not recommending it I hope it goes out of business!! I know when people are trying to screw me over and this place, like all places you try to sell stuff, will try to screw you over!! Never coming here again!!

I love stopping in here! I always look for movie favs from my childhood, and today was no exception!I have a young child and today I found The Princess Bride, Romancing the Stone, and The Neverending Story.Excellent selection, well categorized, and same with their books and vinyl!

I was greeted promptly. The person who was giving me a value on stack of items that I wanted to sell, offered to have another clerk help carry some items from my car into the store. I appreciated the help as the books were heavy.My items didnt have great value but most were older & selling them was better than throwing them away. I also donated some to Savers.

Always been a great chain of stores and this one is no different. More selection than ever and so much .ore than books. Graphic novels/comics, DVDs/blurays, etc.

Its okay to buy but would never sell a big box of books for $1.50... sheesh!

Great store, sometimes hit or miss when it comes finding stuff you want but usually they got a great selection. Finally, the staff are very friendly and helpful when you need to locate something.

A used book store is really as good as its stock. But the clerks are pleasant, the donation process is timely, and the store is organized so I can browse easily.

There was a girl sitting on the floor taking pictures of pages of a book, Im assuming she didnt want to buy or couldnt afford. I almost bought it just to get her out of the alcove.

Great selection and they buy old books! Tabletop section is well stocked for D&D games as well which is a nice touch!

The only place I know that gives cash for used books. I love that, but dont expect top dollar. They have to sell them and get a profit too. So lower your expectations on price and bring your books, CDs, videos etc. This store did a good job with Covid handling, too.

Always a friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately, as to be expected given the nature of the business, kinda hit or miss if youre looking for something specific, but I easily spend an hour or two browsing every time I visit.

They might as well have charged me so they can take my books and bluerays, 5 dollars for everything I brought in that was insulting, i bet a pawn shop would have given me more for just the bluerays, so the movie i was gonna buy i put back and wont be back

Wow! They definitely rip you off at this location. I just brought in three bags of almost all Blu-Ray movies in ‘like new’ or ‘brand new’ condition and a lot were unopened and still wrapped. I upgraded to 4K before ever opening them. A couple were film sets. We are taking about 30+ Blu-Rays. The Star Wars set alone goes for $89 on Amazon. I also had Spanish learning software, screenwriting software and a bunch of pristine hardcover books. I was expecting $80-$100 on the low end. The guy offered $30. THIRTY. I was stunned. They will turn around and sell the movies alone for a profit of $300+ . You know you are going to get low balled selling here, but I never expected them to take advantage of people this badly. There is one longtime employee who knows the value of items and is honest with buying, but he wasn’t here today. He often has blue hair-try to sell to him. UPDATE: They put one of my self help books with the matching workbook on the shelf for sale. They are charging $35.98 for the two. They are recouping the $30 they bought all of my stuff with by selling just TWO of the books. WOW. I am an idiot. I bent right over for this place. I won’t make the same mistake twice.

This Half Price location is nice. Its packed full of used and new books, and even has some REALLY old books in locked cases that you can buy. They have a great selection of any genre of book and also movies and music. They also have calendars, greeting card sets, toys, stuffed animals, board games, some collectibles and a sale section. I havent tried selling books to them yet, but as far a buying, its a great store!!

If you love books, movies, music and games, Half-Price Books is a fun place to explore; especially if youre a collector. You can find a lot of items at great prices. Keep an eye on the time though as you browse, it tends to fly by quickly with all their is to see!

Very good place to .get a book you want to check out. Also if you are going on vacation good place to stock up. There are also some good travel book options for books you may never use again. There are also a lot of picture book and coffee table books that can. Spice up the living room or in our case the pool room. Check it. Out for sure and they also buy books. There is free parking but the lot is shared bu a lot of other stores. There is also a bathroom in the store... but its weird and right in the middle of the store ....so if you need to boo boo you may want to hold it.

It was pretty busy. I dropped off 7 books.

This place is very cozy and homey and a very nice place to get the book that you need. However it is quite often hard to find the book that you want without having to order it. I found multiple good books here though. Many diamonds in the rough.

I brought in roughly 25 books, many were hardcover. I got $1.70 for the lot. Maximum of 50 books per visit. At least they arent in a landfill.

I cant always find the book Im looking for, but I always leave with books. I could spend so long looking through the shelves to find gem books. I love this store! It has a nice quiet atmosphere. I also feel like Im helping the planet by buying books from here, but I could be wrong about that.

They pay like nothing for things you have for sale and they charge like a lot for that same product when they sell it.

I found the perfect books for my granddaughter!

The store itself is absolutely fantastic, I could spend hours there. Unfortunately some of the staff are a bit brash and seem quite bothered when you ask for help or when youre checking out. Overall I really enjoy theyre selection of books and other novelties.

I LOVE THIS STORE. It is seriously my happy place. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly and they never seem like they hate customers like you might see in other places. They have a large clearance section and its a really great place to shop for stocking stuffers at Christmas!

This is one of my favorite places! I have shopped there many times and always got good help when I needed it. I have only sold things a couple times and I feel I got a fair price each time. The staff are always nice and funny too if you engage in a conversation. Highly recommended!

The books are more than half price, but its still better than paying full price. Fun selection. I like that I can get money to trade in books, but dont expect to get much. Ive never gotten more than $12 when bringing in a large box or two of books, all in excellent condition. I guess its better than nothing.

My family thinks this store is magical! We get lost for hours in here. Good deals most of the time, and lovely little store! Books, media, activities, and fun things to find everywhere! If you love books, you will love this store! And they do sell gift cards for the book lover in your life too!Tip: The far back corner has clearance books and media - cheap treasures!

Good variety of books. Glad this place is still in business. Limited space to sit and review books. A lot of people while we were there were to sitting waiting for offer on books they were selling. They were texting on their phones, and would leave the sit with their belongings left on seat for 20 plus minutes while we were interested in looking through stacks of books were interested in purchasing. Can you add more seating??

Love this place if you prefer actual books to E reader this is the place but not only books used movies, gift ideas just fun things to look about I recommend a random stroll through the store your sure to find something you or someone else probably lots of someone elses would enjoy! I like the selection and set up of this store. However, the customer service has always been lacking. The staff at this location tend to seem stuck up or inconvenienced by customers. Their pricing is inconsistent as well. Ive seen the same books priced differently several times, which makes me feel like there is no standard for what they price their products at. I also would never sell my books here again, they really lowball you! They offered 6 dollars for a stack of 20 books, 5 of them were brand new and all in great condition. I felt a little cheated by their offer.

Typical used bookstore experience here.The name of the store applies to used paperbacks, whereas the hardcovers are priced on a different scale. The selection available greatly depends on what type of book/section youre looking for. Some are great where others are almost non-existent.The staff was cheerful and helpful.

Needed a book for book club. Person at register was able to find it for me right away at a good price. Somehow always manage to find and buy other books I didnt know I was looking for when Im there.

Great spot to recapture that feeling of digging through media for that perfect find. Be sure to check the clearance every trip, there are treasures to be had there for sure.

Not too impressed with the offers when I sold the books. $5 for 21 books. I took it because I was on the roll decluttering my place. This was my second time selling. First time wasnt even in double digits. Better chances selling in garage sales.

I would give them zero if I could. I just took 5 boxes of books there. Mostly hard cover. Of course you have to wait in the store while they go through all the books, probably so you spend money. All the books were spine side up in the boxes, because I thought it would be easier for them to give me a price. They took all the books out, and after a 20 some minute wait, guess how much they were going to give me for around 100 to 120 books (including a hard cover from half price books that was $19.99)? FIVE DOLLARS! REALLY Half Price Books......$5 and youre going to turn around and make $400-$500. That is rediculous!!! Oh and thank you for taking all my books out of my boxes thinking I wouldnt want to pack them all up and take them to Goodwill. Well played! I WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!

Nice variety. I found a few books for my 2yr old fairly quickly. Couldnt find a bathroom for her though, luckily she was distracted enough to check out quick and go somewhere else. Probably would have bought a ton more books if we didnt have to leave quick. Wonderful staff at check out.

Great books and home movie selections!!! The clearance on books and movies is Awesome. The titles vary but Ive found some wonderful out of print reads and dvds. I like how the store can order a title for you if its existent in their company.Service is friendly and efficient.
