Prices always seem higher compared to other local stores but variety and stock is much better currently than other stores the shelves are actually stocked not empty like most other sporting good retailers so if you are looking for something explicit you will have the best luck looking here if other retailers are sold out but be prepared to pay more for the same item

I love this place!!! You can still but bullets here, when they have them in stock. Good morals and values here. All the workers, management and non management all say hi to you. And the prices are not bad considering that they are inside the mall. Will go here for all my outdoor needs!!! Recommend to anyone!!!

Sheels is somewhat out of the way for me.Its is a bit pricey but Im willing to pay extra for quality. It is not just a Sports and Hunting Store but also carries some very unique and cute Women and Childrens clothing and shoes. We purchased a firearm today, and ONLY went through with the purchase because of the price of the pre-owned gun. The customer service from a younger staff member behind the counter was ridiculous to say the least. She was rude and made the experience super uncomfortable. This isn’t a process people do very often, so a better explanation of the paperwork would MAYBE help, but a class on customer service skills would be beneficial.Added that extra star because the guy on the sales floor was friendly and helpful.

One of the employees would not let me test the range hitting station for golf. He belittled my family and I.UPDATE: I asked Brian Kerbs if I can test drive the golf clubs after getting denied by the other employee. Brian Kerbs was very nice and helpful. Brian showed good customer service unlike the other employee I encountered.

Great store. TONS of variety for every sport. Better deals than Cabelas or Bass Pro. Best decision to drive 30 mins out of our way to check this store out. Its now on our list of places to visit on road trips! Only complaint was although carts were amazingly tricked out and well made the aisles were hard to have a cart in. Couldnt go down quite a few aisles as a result. Had a baby in cart so couldnt just leave cart and walk into some narrow aisles.

To start off, I love Scheel’s. Love the gear that they offer, and I am generally extremely pleased with all the employees I encounter.BUT today I went to get my draw length adjusted slightly because I switched to a different style release. I was helped by a guy who I’ve dealt with once or twice before. Seems like he is typically in a bad mood, and helping you is the last thing he wants to be doing. He didn’t offer much advice other than that my form is off and thats why the bow doesn’t feel comfortable when I’m drawn. I asked if he could adjust it anyway, he told me he didn’t have the parts and recommended I look somewhere else. Didn’t offer to order them, didn’t seem like he much wanted my business. Guess I’ll take it elsewhere.

Rode down to this area mostly to go to Cabelas. Was not impressed there. Scheels blows Cabelas out of the water!

Worthless. Had a question about a crossbow mount. Sent me back and forth to two different sections. Finally one person said I would need to see the mounting holes, little did he know I had a picture of it then he said that doesnt help and we cant get a mount for a tenpoint crossbow that they carry. Waisted 30 minutes to find out they didnt want to help anyhow. Thanks for nothing!!!!

Fairly easy to find, super friendly staff but was a bit difficult to find someone to help. I would imagine that difficulty is directly related to pandemic conditions. Huge inventory spread across 2 floors. Anything related to sports or outdoor activities, this is a good place to start.

Awesome store! All the staff members are helpful, the store is neat and organized, and they manage to keep a fair amount of stock for all items. It’s worth driving the two hours, even when I have a Cabela’s that is only 45 minutes from me. I also appreciate that they stock different, high quality, brands that most other sporting goods stores don’t. Highly recommend!

Terrible customer service. 3 employees walked away from me after I asked for help. Then when I find a manager shes you can tell shes stressed out of her mind and tells me theyre short staffed then the kid she found to help me acted like helping me was the LAST thing he wanted to do. I used to love shopping here. We recently purchased a Traeger grill from them. We were talked into he larger size and after a few cooks we do not like it. it burns pellets faster than the sales man stated. We spoke with Scheels to get a credit or return for the one we wanted and they are making it extremely difficult to get any sort of resolution. The grill had to be delivered its so large but they want us to bring it back to inspect it. They wouldnt take a video or pictures. We will no longer be shopping at any Scheels.

I usually am not one to write reviews but I believe SCHEELS deserves a big shout out! My family was in town from Atlanta for the hockey tournament that was going on this weekend and we needed some new tape for my sons stick, so we decided to head to SCHEELS because we dont have those in Atlanta. As soon as I walked in we were all amazed because of how cool the store was... The big tree, the two stories, the glass vaulted ceilings, everything was so cool. When we were being checked out the young man running the register was asking us how we were doing and making great conversation and saying all these wonderful things, but I really wondered if he was saying this because he had to or if he actually wanted to. He ended up recommending us a place to eat that night (Hu Hut which was amazing) which was super sweet of him. The next day we returned to visit the store one more time before we left and as we were being checked out on the mall side, the same cashier from Saturday rang up our order and he recognized us right away.He asked us how dinner went, and how my sons game went, and how I was doing. He was so compassionate, attentive, and I knew he wanted to be there. To this cashier, I was not a dollar sign and I was not a checkbook, I was someone he genuinely wanted to get to know, and I loved that. I then asked him to introduce himself and he said his name was Parker, and then while he was bagging our items I asked him how is it that you do your job so while with such empathy, and treat customers like their your friends, isnt that hard? he responded, No, its not hard at all for me because I love my job, and I love working with people. This was by far the best experience I have ever had at any retail store and with an cashier because Parker was genuine and kind, and he truly cared and made me feel valued as an individual. Ill be back to SCHEELS very soon, and next time I hope I get to see Parkers wonderful smile on his whole face and not just with his eyes, fantastic job Parker, you made our trip to Wisconsin the most memorable and special!!!

Specifically the firearms dept: Excellent customer service! Very busy as expected especially during this time. However, all customers are being helped in a timely manner. Zero complaints there. Considering the crazy time we live in, paperwork are being processed very quickly and even the background checks are coming through rather fast. A great store that stands behind every product they carry. A+++

Always like this place. Clean, organized and people help without being pushy. Prices are typical of a sporting goods store, but selection is good. Guns, sports, clothes, (athletic or hunting), grilling and dog stuff is. Good on my opinion.

Greg, today, April 5, 2021, was very helpful to buy new skis, bindings, boots & poles. Mitch & Taylor fit new boots to new bindings and were very resourceful for future maintenance work for myself and our local ski club in Appleton WI.

I visited the archery department and was pretty impressed with their selection of bows. The knowledge of the staff is quite well. I shot a couple different bows, and I will return to buy from Scheels when the time is right.

Dont bother going here if you want to look at guns. Theyve set an arbitrary number of people for that section, and it doesnt matter if they are all huddled around 1 gun. If you want to look at guns, you can stand in line, or save time drive the 2 minutes away to Fleet Farm who doesnt have such a customer-unfriendly approach.And the number isnt about social distancing, since I saw a bunch of people within a few feet of each other.

Very friendly associates! They were incredibly helpful and seemed to enjoy their job as well as know their products well.Also a huge bonus that they allow dogs in the store. We went to look at harnesses and its hard to find ones that fit my dogs without trying them on first.

I absolutely love every Scheels but this one. Every time I go into this store I get a rude attitude from one of the associates or hear them giving inaccurate information to other customers. I’ve been to many Scheels and buy all my hunting and fishing equipment solely from Scheels because they actually always have what you need and most associates are very knowledgeable. I’m going to avoid this store and go to the one in Eau Clair they are great up there without the attitude. Pretty sad to see because as a whole the organization is amazing.

Great place to buy your weapons as they wont be beat on prices with their price match guarantee. Bought two weapons online from their Bismarck, ND store and had them sent to the Appleton store at no extra charge. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Huge inventory of all your sporting needs except for ammo and some weapons.

I stopped in looking for bulk ammunition for my Daniel defense rifle. They had multiple brands in a variety sizes. I have a few questions, but they had multiple employees who were willing to help me out. It is refreshing to see. I also picked up some iron sites and cleaning supplies. It is refreshing to find what you need with friendly staff that supports responsible gun owners.
