Wow! This place is awesome! They have everything you could need and more! Hunting, fishing, bait, awesome clothing, gear - everything. Scheels wont repair rods, but The Reel Shot did (while I waited!). They have a very knowledgeable and friendly staff as well. Definitely stop in this place if you havent gone there yet. It will be the only place I go for my hunting/fishing needs in the Fox Valley going forward.
I personally love this store and appreciate the informative people that work there. They dont just sell you things, they explain what everything is used for. I had a great experience with a guy named Ty whom works there and he spooled my reel up a couple times. Ty provides great customer service and valuable information, schooled me on a couple things. I recommend their bait supply as well. I would have rated this store 5 stars if they would have had more catfish fishing equipment, but thats okay. I still love this store!
Helpful staff. Not a huge selection but what they have is quality and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Also a great place to go for ammo when you cant find it elsewhere!

The Reel Shot is a great place with outstanding customer service. My dad and I were taking a trip over to Lake Michigan targeting salmon (the fishing on this trip was OUTSTANDING)! I had some tackle issues with one of my reels and worked with Nick and Rick to get it sorted out. Nick stayed after his shift to re-spool one of my reels, gave me some pointers on the current salmon patterns, and times to target the fish. All in all it paid off. Two guys in 1.5 days and we caught our limit with one massive king that topped the scales at just over 25 pounds. Thanks Nick and everyone at TRS you won over this customer.

This is my first year of fishing ever, and I did not expect to get into the sport as much as I am. A couple months ago I went into The Reel Shot and Ty hooked me up with a starter combo. Well it wasnt long after that to which I decided I wanted to upgrade my gear. I was blown away by the amount of rods/reels and brands out there. Ty walked me through a few of them, but more importantly asked me questions about how I WANT to fish. He wasnt just trying to sell me some expensive rod/reel. He wanted to make sure I was paired with a set up that suited my style of fishing.Soon after that, while fishing some random stranger and I were fishing the same shoreline and he gave me a baitcasting reel. As someone who is new to the sport I was a bit cautious of using it. I went into The Reel Shot and Ty and Nick walked me through how to use the reel, as well as options on rods to pair the reel with. Again they asked me HOW I WANT to use the rod/reel. They gave great advice and NOT ONCE were they annoyed by my beginner questions, nor did I ever feel shy or bad about asking them things. They are genuinely there to help in any way and make sure youre on the right path to catch some fish!I will continue to go there and support them, as they are very knowledgeable, supportive and fantastic at customer service! Placed an order online and selected overnight expedited shipping because the website indicated that standard shipping was significantly delayed by covid, which is understandable. Would have also been cheaper than driving my truck to the store for pickup. Their website was also showing that if you lived within the state, you could expect 1 day delivery. A week later, I finally get an update that one of the 7 items I ordered is shipping. When I placed the order, all items were showing 10+ in stock. Checked availability when I got the shipping update, they were still showing 10+ in stock. Not sure why they couldnt send my full order when their websites were showing inventory. Also not sure why they offer overnight expedited shipping then take a week to update your order. Had I known about this delay, I could have saved almost 20% on my order by selecting standard shipping. Huge oversight on their end. Still waiting on an explanation.
This is what a pro shop is supposed to feel like! Ty went above and beyond helping out a fellow ice angler giving good advice and honest feedback on their products. This place has always had a personal feel to it, and each time I shop there I am glad I did! Shout out to Nick as well as he has helped me plenty of times with baits and locations to fish. I came in on Thursday afternoon to look at bows. It’s been a decade since I’ve shot a bow, I’ve never owned a bow, it’s all new to me. Mark was great!!! He talked me through a few different options. I tried a few bows we found the one I liked. Marked recommended parts and we equipped the bow. Mark set me up with arrows, and then he sited the bow in. My first two arrows were right next to each other but a little off target. Mark made a quick adjustment to the site and third arrow is a bullseye!!! After not touching a bow in a decade I was more than happy!!! Mark made the process easy. He talked me through the options, helped me get everything set up and had me hitting bullseyes before I left. Awesome experience! I would highly recommend going and seeing Mark. All the guys seemed very nice and helpful to the customers. I know where I will be purchasing all my archery equipment from. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Knowledgeable, helpful staff and a better than average selection of trolling spoons for trout and salmon fishing. Whenever I come to Appleton from Green Bay, TRS is always one of my stops.

This place has a great selection of hunting and fishing gear at a very fair price that can compete with many of the big chain stores. The customer service was exceptional and very knowledgeable. Nate went above and beyond to help me out. I would strongly recommend shopping here to anyone. For a smaller shop they really do have a good selection. Lots of great fishing lures and equipment you often do not see elsewhere. Clean and organized. Fair and reasonable prices. Also a decent selection of firearms, accessories, and ammunition.

Great selection of firearms, archery, and fishing gear. Check often as they normally carry many items that are very difficult to find even online. Many times their inventory will surprise you.
I love this place. I just discovered this place about 3 weeks ago and it is great. This is definitely my new fishing store. The prices are reasonable and they have great inventory. The staff has been awesome and very helpful, Ive already been there 3 times and I try my best to support local small businesses especially when the people that work there care about the customer. If your an outdoor type a person then check this place out and you wont be disappointed.
Brought my killer instinct crossbow in for a broken limb for warranty repair. I Didnt purchase it from them but yet they sent me home with a raven to use while repair was being made . Showed me how to operate it. Now thats impressive. Thank you so much!!! Wow!!!!

I broke my crossbow string and after checking with many shops, no one could help me. I called the Reel Shot and Mark who is very knowledgeable asked me to bring my bow in and he fixed me up the same day. You can’t find service like that. This place is great!
Like the selection. I love that they support many local fundraisers.That is why Im willing to pay the slightly higher prices here than at other stores.The archery prices are kinda set up to make a monthly membership appealing. The trade off is that if you want to take your kid here to try and get them involved in archery, its very expensive to shoot for an hour for 2 people, when one is a kid just learning. just my opinion.Shopping tip, prices online are NOT the same as the prices in the store. Prices can vary dramatically, so if shopping online, they will match the price in the store. I found this out 2 days after I bought a bunch of fishing lures I though were on sale, and looked at the receipt when I got home. unfortunately the registers do not show you the prices as they are being rung up, so you cannot verify prices until your done.It might seem like a negative review, but I really do like this store and its employees have always been polite and helpful. I hope to have pointed out a couple things that can be used to make a great place even better.
I recently bought a new Mathews VXR 31.5 bow and all the accessories from TRS after countless visits to other shops in the area. Mike and Matt were the reason I bought my entire set up from TRS. Everyone has knowledge in this industry but they applied it to my specific situation and needs in a way that got me excited about the way I hunt and shoot vs. what the experts want to have you do or have you buy. Couldnt be happier with the experience.
I had significant issues with a new bow that I had purchased from another location. I brought it to Reel Shot for help and the staff was outstanding. Their knowledge base and expertise in the field is unmatched. There were a bunch of head aches I had too work through, and they were still more than accommodating. I went here looking for a new bow for the first time in a couple of years. Both Matt and Mike were fantastic in answering any questions I had and finding me a bow that suited my needs and budget. After purchasing my bow I wanted to change out some of the old accessories I had had from my previous bow. Again their advice was patience was incredible. I came in looking for some fishing poles for a gift and the store was very busy. This gave me time to pick out what I needed and a few extra items. When it came time to purchase reels Nate was patient and knowledgeable about their products, but also made sure I had the right gear for the fishing I was doing. He wasn’t overwhelmed by the influx of customers and made sure I was taken care of. Same goes for their archery department.
I have frequented this location multiple times and have always had fantastic service. I was in last night and purchased a new bow. Mark did a great job getting it dialed in and providing everything I needed, in addition to giving my daughter some pointers and tweaking her bow as well. Thank you for an awesome experience.

I am new to archery and decided to go to Reel Shot to get a new bow. Matt helped me out during a couple visits. First visit to just take a look at some bows and then the next visit he got me all set up with one. He worked with me one on one to make sure it was a perfect fit. I must have went on a bad day. Everyone there seemed really rude and impatient. I was told they were too busy to help me with a string for my crossbow. I was also looking for some replacement parts and was told that I would have to come back at a different time. The place was dead... They were just lazy. Very negative experience.

Btw they are a fishing and hunting shop that opens up at 9-10 every day... that should tell u everything u need to know about them. I haven’t been in the store for a few years now and I came in looking for a in line ice reel after not having luck at the big stores in town and was impressed with the large selection of everything in the store. Nate was a huge help getting me setup with the new reel and also going through a new musky rod/reel setup with me. Definitely will be back!
I am just getting into bow hunting at 23, the employees there were outstanding. They helped me pick out the right bow for me in my price range while not trying to get me to buy the most expensive one. They also adjusted my draw length, weight, peep sight, cut my arrows and helped my sight my new bow in for FREE!!!! They also gave me good advice on proper shooting technique. I am definitely coming back here again for any of thing I need for bow hunting. I also bought my new CC firearm there recently and had the same awesome experience. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable. Easy 5 stars!!! (anyone interested, I got the Bear Approach package which is an awesome bow)

I live 5 hours away, and had some items stolen from my pole barn. These items were taken to The Reel Shot and attempted to be sold. The Reel Shot thought something was wrong, and contacted the Appleton Police Dept. Because of the efforts at The Reel Shot, I have recovered some of my items, and the person is in jail! Thank you Reel Shot for being a great community minded company!
I went in to check out some shotguns a year ago and was helped by Steve in the gun department and was really impressed. Since my first purchase of a 590 I have bout two more guns from him. The best part is if he cant help you he will look around to find what you need. I recently got the wrong front grip for my a.r. and he went out of his way to find a model number and a place that I could get one. Me and my family are so impressed with the quality and care that we receive when shopping with Steve that we will no longer go to Scheels for are supplies and will only go to Steve. I wish there were more than 5 starts to give Matt from Reel Shot. From the day I got a bow, my fiance and I went in and had it fit to me and he spent a great deal of time tuning it just right. He showed me pointers on how he even stands when shooting and techniques.My bow broke the other day and I called to make sure Matt was working (Not that anyone else isnt good, its just who weve always dealt with) and that same night it was back to normal, even better than before it broke.Anything you need, go to Reel Shot.

By far the best bow shop I ever attended. Not biased about the bow you shoot or arrows you use. Mike Williams is your guy for bow work and arrows cut and fletched. So impressed with his work and have had plenty done so far by him including new bow strings this year for a great price!

Steve in the firearms department goes above and beyond. He helped me get a 65 year old vintage firearm in excellent shooting condition. He knew it had great sentimental value, and didnt stop until the job was done. Would not take a firearm any where else.
I was a archery club shooter when they first opened up and was one till trs expanded and ended the monthly membership. It was a pleasure talking to the guys there and shooting. My husband had been looking for a new bow for me for a while. We went into The Reel Shot and they were super helpful with helping us find the perfect bow for me. We just went in to get the bow set up and ready to shot. Matt 2.0 in the archery shop was beyond helpful. He helped us pick a great sight that would work for me. He got us the best arrows for my bow and cut them down for us. He even helped me start to sight in my bow. He was helpful and patient with us. Even stayed a bit late to fix an issue with my sight. To top it off the whole time we were working to get my bow set up my son was able to shot at the indoor range! He had such a great time! We cant wait to get back, as a family, into the range again to shot. Would highly recommend this shop! Great shop to work with.
